Rise Of The Burning Phoenix Rewrite

~episode I~

Episode 1: New game New life

•••••

BANG! The shot rang out in the dark of the night, no one could tell where it had came from. A female was towering above all on a telephone pole, her snow white hair was flowing with the strong wind as her stone cold ocean blue eyes we're looking down upon a group of men.

"You who stole the dragon stone, we will give you hell to pay!" One of the five men shouted at her in anger, he was the cause of the loud bang as he tried to shoot her but missed.

"An eye for an eye is what they say right?" She replied in a sharp tone of voice. Each of the men flinched as she glared at each one of them.

One of the men stepped up, "If you come back with us and return what you stole, then we might forgive you."

She sneered a smile, "If you forgive a wolf for eating your chickens then he shall take your sheep."

"This isn't play time! Give us back the dragon stone or face consequences!" another of the men yelled pointing their gun at her.

"You guys really want it back that badly?" She teased and she pretends to drop it.

"Girl, you do not know the consequences if you just drop it so carelessly." the man said slightly afraid

Ignoring them, the girl looked towards the North seeing something come her way. "Well gentle men, It was lovely to meet all of y'all. I must go now, so bye." She leaned off the pole with a giantic Raven catching her from falling.

Each of the men watched as they both took off. "Damn! We should've shot her when we had the chance."

"That wouldn't have worked, even if we tried." The voice of their general leader spoke out, coming out of the shadows.

"Why is that, Sir?"

"Look closely at the bird."

The men all squinted their eyes at the retreating figures. The bird noticed their gaze from far away, and turned it's head towards them, staring at them with its left eye. Then men all gaped as they saw a raging flame in it's eye and soon realization hit them. "Wait a minute... that's the...."

"Yes. It's the divine Phoenix."

"I don't get how a legendary Phoenix has something to do with that girl?" one of the men questioned

"Think about it. Mr.Rodriguez tried to shoot her, but missed? Rodriguez is known for his sharp eye and never misses a target. So how did she miss his bullet?"

"The only way she could have is....! Wait! So you're saying that she..."

"Yes, no doubt. That girl is the one from the legends the one with the Phoenix fate....

and the one who shall rule the heavens."

•••••

The Raven landed gracefully near a pond, The girl got off of the Raven and took out the dragon stone she put in her pocket when the men weren't looking.

"Well, it's about that time Raven." She said looking into the birds pitch black eyes, "I'll be right back." She motioned with her left hand and three buttons came up, the top said "Setting", the middle said "Profile" and the last one said "sign out". She clicked the bottom and she disappeared from that world and into reality.

"Ahhh" She sighed in relief as she took of her VR headset "Another game another life." she said and relaxed out on her comfy bed.

She turned her head and looked out the window seeing that it's half past ten. "I guess I'll eat." she said to herself and got up to go down stairs. She was already at the bottom of the stairs when she sighed in loneliness.

You should be use to this Xiaoling

She thought to herself shaking any sad feelings she was having. Xiaoling was always alone, since her parents died at a early age, of seven. Luckily by then she actually was more mature than a average kid, she understood what most did not. Xiaoling is now fifteen, she graduated school at the age of fourteen and her grandfather is paying for her house.

Reasons for her grandfather not being there was because he has too many things to deal with at once and he wanted her to not get caught up in the messes he made. Xiaoling began making some ramen noodles that came in a cup, but then heard a commotion coming from her room.

"What the hell...?"

She tipped toed to her bedroom and slightly peeked through the open the door, her eyes widen in shock as she saw the dragon stone on her bedroom floor. A bright light took over the stone, engulfing the entire house. Xiaoling vision went black as she was getting sucked into another world.

•••••

Xiaoling woke up half in a river, she sat up with a huge headache. She grabbed her head in pain.

What the hell happen? My head is pounding.

Xiaoling looked at her surroundings of the forest and she then realized where she had been transported to. "No. No. No!" She could recognized the ancient trees from anywhere. "This is impossible! I'm inside my game!?"

She raised up her left hand and three buttons popped up. "Oh thank the heavens." She tried to click 'sign out' but a noise popped out instead with a cancel sign over it.

You've got to be kidding me! I'm stuck in this game!

Xiaoling let out a sigh as she sat down looked at the smaller river creek. Wait, If I'm inside my game, then am I still the same character? She thought as she clicked her profile and nearly died out of shock. Her name was the same, but her looks we're different and she had no cultivation. She grabbed her now black hair in frustration and her crimson red eyes had fury in them.

What the hell! Did I actually transfer into this game?! I have to restart at square one again! I was at a Level 12 Rank 13 master! Are you kidding me?! I was basically a god since I was at the limit! Why do I have such bad luck!

Xiaoling was throwing a mini temper tantrum, stomping all over the ground. She sighed knowing that it was silly to throw a tantrum. "Power isn't everything, Xiaoling. Remember that." She whispered to herself taking a big deep breath in and releasing it.

Xiaoling, now back at her calm state, began to get up and wonder around the giant forest, huge vines we're wrapped around the big ancient trees with leaves so thick they blocked out any sun light and animals scrambling across the forest floor each step Xiaoling took.

"What am I to do now?" She asked herself with a sigh

Hey.

Xiaoling stopped, hearing a voice. "Whose there?" she asked turing around but saw no one.

Hey.

*What the...?

***Behind** you*.

She turned and looked back, her eyes widen as she looked at the creature. It was a tiny female fairy, she had long golden waves with a braid around the top of her head, forest green eyes with long pointed ears, wearing a off the shoulder sea green dress and a flower crown. The fairy was barefooted standing at three inches tall.

"A fairy?" She asked receiving a nod from the tiny creature

"My name is Isa, I am a nature fairy and also your private fairy. No one but you can see me now, I will also be giving you mission's to go on and will answer any question you want to ask." The fairy said

"Why am I here?" Xiaoling asked with her crimson eyes locking onto the forest green eyes.

Isa looked at her, in confusion. "What are you talking about? It's because you belong here." Isa simply said

Xiaoling was even more confused, "What? No I don't, I belong on Earth."

Isa paused before talking again, "So, you truly do not remember?" She said with a hint of sadness in her eyes

"Remember what?" Xiaoling asked

"Excuse me for my rudeness, Mi'lady." Isa said bowing So it appears the rumors are true

"Mi'lady? What's up with that?" Xiaoling asked "And what do you mean I bel-"

Xiaoling sentence was soon cut off by a loud and ferocious roar, "First mission, kill the level 1 rank 5 beast."

"What?"

"You will be rewarded with points, to help you level up." Isa said

"huh?"

"The beast is currently, 10 meters away. You have 24 hours to complete this task. Kill the beast."

"How do I kill it? I don't even have anything on me?"

Isa stared at her for awhile before replying "5 meters away."

"?!"

Are you kidding me?!

Xiaoling was feeling rushed as she picked up a stick.

"Are you going to kill the beast with that?" Isa asked with a deadpan face, pointing at the small stick that Xiaoling held in her hands.

"Shut up."

"Currently 1 meter away."

Hearing the sound of animals scattering across the forest, she braced herself for the beast. She could hear the beast foot steps, as they became closer and closer. She looked up at the beast as it's shadow covered her's. In the next chapter, Beast vs human. Let's see who shall win.

Episode 2: Beast vs. Human

•••••

~Recap~

Hearing animals scatter across the forest, Xiaoling braced herself for the beast. She could hear each foot step it took, coming closer and closer. She looked up at giant beast as it shadow covered her entire body. In this chapter; Beast vs Human. Who will win?

•••••

Xiaoling was now looking at the giant 25 foot blue ogre, who was holding a giant tree as a weapon. "It is here." Isa said in monotone

"No shit Sherlock!"

"My name is Isa." she replied still in monotone

"Shut up!"

Letting out a loud roar that shook the leaves off the trees, the ogre swung down at Xiaoling, only for her to dodge it by a inch. The tree hit the ground making a giant crater in it. "Damn, this thing is strong. I used most of my hp just to dodge It! T^T." She sobbed

The ogre began swinging, and missing every time making it anger by the minute. "I think he is mad, Mi'lady."

"Shut up captain obvious."

"My name is-

"If you don't shut up, your name will be nothing." Xiaoling said with a eyes closed smile

Swoosh!

The tree swung down almost hitting Xiaoling, but missed by a inch. The ogre still began to swing but still missed.

What the...?

Xiaoling looked closer at the gigantic beast, she noticed something. The ogre had it's left eye slashed out.

*This is strange, come to think of it.... I'm standing in the middle of a ancient forest, far away from any beast, So I would have 37- no, lower than that, I would have 20% chance of running into a beast. Not only that, I sensed the beast coming towards me, before Isa said anything, but the strange part is, it wasn't walking, it was running. It was running at a incredible speed, almost like it was running for it's life, Ogre's normally never back down, they are too territorial... Oh, I understand now.

The question is, Who is strong enough to make this powerful beast run for it's own life. I'm sure they never hurt the beast, the eye would have still been bleeding, so that was probably done long ago. Meaning that person must be over a level 8 rank 8, an ogre never backs down from a fight, the reason it would run is if the person is over a level 8 rank 8, the reason is the person is closer to becoming a celestial*.

Isa was now looking at Xiaoling, "Mi'lady, are you okay?"

Could it be, she found something out? No... that would be impossible... with one glance? No way.

"I'm fine. I think it's time to end this."

Xiaoling raised up her right hand and three more buttons came up. The top on saying 'inventory', the middle one saying 'pause' and the last one saying 'skills'. Xiaoling clicked the middle one just as the ogre swung down at her.

Everything froze. The ogre was frozen in place and so was the tree that was one inch from hitting Xiaoling. She sighed in relief. She then went up to the ogre, she looked like a ant standing in front of it. "Mi'lady, are you sure you're okay?"

"The ogre left eye has been slashed, I've been standing on it's left, that's why it kept missing me. Also when I sensed the beast coming our way, I noticed something. It was running, instead of walking, actually if I'm correct it was going at Match 1. Meaning it was most likely running for its life, also it isn't a level 1 rank 5, Isa. You know this," Isa held her head down with her eyes wide "You had me up against a level 4 rank 6 beast."

She only needed one glance at the ogre face and already figured it out! she figure it was running for its life and she had figured that it wasn't a level 1 rank 5. If I would've known Mi'lady senses were sharper than mine, then I wouldn't be so shocked as I am now. Even though it's been a few centuries, I shouldn't be shocked. Mi'lady IQ, is most likely bigger than that ogre's power level.

"Mi'lady I-"

"Whatever, I don't really care at this point. Just don't lie to me."

"Yes, Mi'lady."

Xiaoling still had the three buttons in front of her, she clicked on her inventory and saw that all of her old weapons and pills we're still there.

Xiaoling pulled out a Katana, it wasn't a regular one. It was dripped in poison and it was much sharper. She clicked unpaused and swung her Katana up, slicing through the huge tree. Xiaoling used the ogre moment of shock, and stabbed through his heart.

The ogre slowly fell to the ground on his back."Congratulations. You completed your task, your reward, 10 out of 30 points." Xiaoling had a 'WTF' face as she looked at Isa

"10 points?! I deserve at least 25! Are you cheating me?! I hope you know I used up all of my hp!!!!!" (T﹏T)

"Mi'lady, I will admit, you had me surprised back there but, you took too long. When you pause the game time goes by faster. So it has already been 23 hours and 30 minutes."

I started fighting the ogre at 11:30 am, and paused it at 11:45 am, which means....

"So one minute is 23 hours and 15 minutes?! Are you kidding me!?"before she could say anything else, a loud gasp was heard, Xiaoling and Isa looked over to see a female.

"You... You..."

The female had long Auburn hair put into a messy bun, with Caramel eyes. She was dressed in a blue dress with long sleeves, that looked worn out and ragged. She had on straw made flip flops and was holding a basket full of herbs.

"It appears this female human has saw you kill the ogre." Isa said in conclusion

"You don't say?" Xiaoling said with a tick on her forehead

"Would you like me to kill her, mi'lady?"

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Xiaoling asked deadpan

"You actually killed the ogre?!" The female exclaimed "How can I ever thank you, miss!?" (Can't see or hear Isa)

"You don't have to..." Xiaoling started to say but got interrupted

"Actually, we need a place to stay." Xiaoling turned to the voice and saw a three feet Isa next to her. The girl was startled, when Isa popped out of nowhere, but nodded nevertheless.

"Follow me to my village." She said leading them through the forest and to a small village with very little people in it

"A village was here the whole time?" Xiaoling sweat dropped

"This is quite small." Isa said

"It's a village, you nitwit. Not a city or town." Xiaoling replied

"I told you my name is Isa."

"Isa?" The female asked

"What would you like human?" Isa said earning a hit from Xiaoling "What was that for?"

"Are you two sisters?" She asked

"N-"

Before Isa could get a word out, Xiaoling slapped her hand around her mouth. "Yes, she's my little sister, please don't mind her rudeness."

Isa has question marks above her head as to why Xiaoling did that. "Ah, that's so cute."

Xiaoling removed her hand from Isa mouth, "I guess so, I didn't quite get your name."

"Ah! Please forgive me for not introducing myself, my name is Ai." She said and showed them into a tiny house. "This is where I live, please make yourself at home."

"You live by yourself?" Isa asked

"Yes, my parents died by the hands of that Ogre you killed. That's why I am so very grateful." Ai explained with a sad smile on her face

"I'm sorry to here that."

"You have my compassion as well human."

"So, How we're your parents?" this question seemed to throw Ai off "Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to throw you off with the question."

"No, No. it's fine. To be honest, I'm glad you asked, I want everyone to know how great they were. They were the village warriors, they had what most did not, Bravery. Everyone respected them." Ai said and began to tear up

"Wow. That's so wonderful to hear." Xiaoling said with a smile and a glint of sadness in her eyes

Suddenly, a knock at the door interrupts their conversation. "Miss Ai? Would you mind helping out with crops? Oh and did you get all the herbs I listed?" A angelic voice says from the other side of the door

"Oh Ida. Yes, I'll be there in a second." Ai replied "Sorry, but I have to go right now, please just sit back and relax." Ai headed out with her basket of herbs.

"New mission Mi'lady."

"Oh dear lord. Do I have to kill another beast?" Xiaoling was now sweat dropping

"No. You must help out this village. Rewards will be based off of your preformance."

Xiaoling and Isa walked out and ran towards Ida and Ai, with smiles of their faces.

"Hey! We'll help too!"

~Episode III~

Episode 3: A bad omen

••••••

It has been day's since Xiaoling and Isa began helping Ai. So far the village has been coming along nicely, the huts were redone, the villagers has more food and Xiaoling made sure that there were no monsters near by. Though, she was afraid of fighting it, seeming that she will "die", so she just led them away from the village.

As of now Isa, Xiaoling and Ai, are in the forest collecting fruit and herbs. "I can't thank y'all enough for helping out my village!"

"It's nothing really...." Xiaoling said 'I can't exactly tell her that it's a mission....'

"Actually, it's becau-" A hand slapped over Isa mouth

"Shut up."

Ai sweat dropped while putting an apple in her basket. The sky was soon painted with multiple colors, it was dawn. "We need to head back." Ai said with a hand over her forehead staring at the sky

Xiaoling agreed and they began in walking back. As they got back, it was completely pitch dark and a full moon was out. Hearing the howling of wolves near by, they rushed inside of the cottage.

"It's strange, my left eye is jumping." Xiaoling said and looked out the cottage window.

"I feel you. I mean full moons all week? That's out of the ordinary!" Ai remarked

"Too unordinary... "Xiaoling muttered quietly without them hearing her

Xiaoling looked out into the dark abyss of the night one more time before closing the ragged curtains. Without knowing that danger was heading their way, they slept peacefully through the night.

••••••••

Meanwhile

"Master, we found a small village in the South just as you requested. What is your next order?" A boy said bowing at the unknown mysterious person who was sitting on a throne.

The mysterious person spoke in a deep masculine voice, "My next order is for you to order a attack and start off by harming the village people. I have a feeling that things will get very interesting from there."

The boy servant bowed before he left, while the mysterious person was left alone. He/She began laughing, "Oh my, looks like we will meet again," he looked down at a picture of a well known figure, "Ai."

|••••••••••|

Waking up to a fresh new morning, Ai began opening up the curtains. She stretched and yawned before going to make Xiaoling and Isa breakfast. But to her surprise, Xiaoling was already up. Truth be told, Xiaoling didn't sleep at all without a bad feeling tucked into her gut.

"Good morning!" Ai greeted cheerfully as always, she received a well respected grunt as a response. Xiaoling looked awful. Her hair was greasy and messy, she had bags under her eyes and she looked like she could be triggered at any moment.

"Have a rough night?" Ai asked trying to start a conversation with her, it didn't go to well when she received yet another grunt. "Would you like some coffee?" she tried again, but this time Xiaoling looked up and nodded.

After Xiaoling had some coffee, she began feeling more like herself. "Sorry about that, I'm not a morning person and not use to having less sleeping time." She apologized

Ai smiled in response, "Oh it's fine, please don't worry. What made you stay up without any sleep?" Ai could easily tell that she stayed up all night, she kinda did look like she went through hell and back.

"...." Xiaoling stayed silent for a moment or two before asking, "Do you happen to know how to fight?"

Ai looked at her a while, "I know a little martial arts, why?"

Xiaoling stared at her hesitating a bit to say the next sentence, she sighed before becoming very serious. "Ai, I'm afraid that... one day you will have to fight for your life and as soon as that moment happens, I need you to be prepared."

Xiaoling knew she didn't make any sense to Ai, but she couldn't exactly explain what was going on. Even though she is still very weak, she can teach Ai the basics of magic. "Ai, when we first met, you were saying something but got cut off, you were going to ask for me to assist you in training, right?"

Ai eyes had widen, she was honestly shocked that Xiaoling remembered. Ai smiled and said, "Yes, I actually was. Is that offer available?"

"Yes."Xiaoling smiled, but underneath that smile, she held onto the truth.

flashback-

It was after Ai had gone to sleep when Xiaoling groaned. "When am I able to level up!?"

"*Please, calm down. Ai might wake up because of your loud mouth. The answer to your questions is, training." Isa replied in a polite manner reading a book that was well known as "Moby *****"

Xiaoling looked confused, "Training? What are you talking about? I've been training! I just now replished the small energy I had in the beginning!"

"That's not what I had meant. I was implying that you train Ai." Isa said and flipped a page

"Huh?Why?"

Isa placed a book mark on the page she was at and took off her reading glasses that Ai had given to her. She stood up from the cot she was laying on and stood next to Xiaoling. "Well if you must know, in this world you have three main sources of energy, such as the sun, trees or animals. However, if you have no connection of any one of those three, whether they were already juiced out or just cut off, you have two special ways of getting energy. One is going to the tree of life which you must go through a tough obstacle that even I can't get through, or two," She paused before continuing "You can use humans or demons as a infinite energy source. The only problem with using demons is that their negative energy will affect you. So the only option you have left are humans. If Ai grows up to the strong, then you will be ten times as strong."

Xiaoling stood there shocked at what she was hearing, "I don't think I am able to do that. I am not comfortable of using Ai as my energy source."

Isa didn't look at her when she replied."Mi'lady if I may, I will share something with you." She stopped and Xiaoling nodded for her to continue, and in a dark tone of voice, she said "The way you are now, is unacceptable in this world. You must either live or die. The survival of the fittest. I'm very apologetic that you must use her in this way, but if you want to survive then..."

End of flashback-

It's not like she could do anything, what Isa said was the truth. No matter how many times Xiaoling denies it, she knows it is true deep down. Xiaoling felt incredible guilt from doing this, but it was just as Isa said, Survival of the fittest.

A few days later and Xiaoling watched as Ai picked herbs, guilt was filling her conscious. She bit her lip and tried to distracted herself. When all of a sudden Ai jumped up, clearly remembering something. "Xiaoling! I just remembered something!"

"Huh?" Xiaoling made a noise in confusion when Ai ran into the cottage. She quickly came back out with two bags in her hands.

"I had went into town the other day when you and Isa were asleep, and I got you this!" Ai sat down one of the two bags and dragged out three necklaces. The necklaces were crystals each having their own colors. One was a pastel green, another a crimson red and the last one a pastel purple. She gave Xiaoling the red and green one. "Give the green one to Isa!"

Xiaoling put the crimson red crystal around her neck and called Isa over to put the green one on her. "Why must I wear this?" Despite Isa's tone, she was actually blushing.

"I got you something else! Well to be honest I got it for free from a man. He was actually quite strange and also helped me pick out those three necklaces, but after that he got hit by a wagon." Ai explained and Xiaoling sweat dropped. It wasn't the first time it had happened. Like when a tree branch missed her by two inches because she stopped to remember something, or that other time she thought she saw a coin and ducked just in time before a ball had hit her. Apparently, it was one of the kids who threw it on accident. These were not coincidences.

"Well here you go!" Ai pulled out a chess game, "I figured you would know how to play, since I have no clue."

Isa and Xiaoling eyed had widen, "I-Isa... is that what I think it is?"

"Mi'lady... for once I am speechless."

"THAT'S A GODS RELIC!"

|•••••••••|

Heyo! happy Halloween everyone! I just wanted to thank you for reading this book and I'm sorry for the slow updates. I also want to explain a few things in this story.

•First off regarding paragraph 8, when your left eye jumps something bad is coming, when your right eye jumps something good is coming.

•Second regarding paragraph 29, When Isa said "demons" she means creatures having dark energy within them and when she said "Humans" it means anything that has light energy.

•Third regarding paragraph 32, Xiaoling can't really do anything. For all she knows, she has to survive to get back to her own world. This does NOT mean that she has no feeling towards Ai, she actually is taken a liken to her.

•Fourth is regarding to Xiaoling power. OKAY. So basically the only way Xiaoling can defeat her opponents is by pausing her game and striking. BUT it is ineffective to people well over a level 8 rank 5 as she said in the second chapter. Even doing that takes so much energy from her that it takes weeks for her to replish that small energy she had.

I think that's about it, thank you for reading! If I made any mistakes, be sure to tell me. Bye~
