Chapter 1 - Happy Birthday!
Once upon a time, in a long distant universe, it was said that war raged in an ancient country and that it would be united by the child of the moon, the star.
The star was beautiful, catching the attention of many suitors, but she would marry the only one she deemed worthy of her pure heart.
But that's just a fairytale. One told to children through many ages, little did they know it was all true.
Sakura
Ok, go straight! Straight!
My friend, Sakura, said impatiently. I was blindfolded and she was pushing me from behind.
Willow Ashwood
I am going straight!
I slowly shuffled my feet, careful not to trip on the wooden floor.
Today was my 17th birthday and I'm an English transfer student in Japan.
My only friends Sakura and Rose were planning a party they thought I didn't know about.
The two of them just laughed at me, 'ah jeez that hurt' I thought while rubbing my nose.
I stood still, feeling the two of them shuffle around, then I could hear the lights turn on.
My blindfold was removed suddenly, revealing a beautiful array of cakes and party decorations.

Happy Birthday Willow!!
I was too stunned to speak! It was perfect.
There were several presents piled on a table in the centre, beside it were trays of several different brownies, biscuits and Japanese snacks such as mochi!
I could feel myself salivating already...

I swung an arm around both of them, almost crying.
I'm so lucky to have two friends like this!!
Sakura picked up a party hat and popped it up on my head, snapping the string.
The two of them were pushing boxes towards me.
I took Rose's, payback for Sakura snapping on my hat.
I pulled the ribbon of the box, I opened the lid, inside was a black velvet choker.

Do you want me to put it on?
I nodded, handing her the choker, when I lifted it up, there was a silver locket attached.
Rose
I thought you could pur a photo of us in there!
She said, clasping it around my neck.

No, it's perfect. Thank you.
I gave her a hug before turning to a outing Sakura.
She practically pushed the box into my hands, I'd lossened the ribbon and removed the lid.
I gasped, my eyes twinkling.
I carefully held it in my hands.

It was a jade hairpin with gold and red beading. A classic Japanese hairpin is really expensive!

I gave her a hug, nearing tears. She hugged me back and stuck her tongue out at Rose.
We then ate cakes, danced, drank a little...and played kareoke. It was so much fun!

You guys are the best! *hic* I've had such a good time! *hic*
They both slurred a "you're welcome" before passing out on the floor.
I however opened the shoji door and sat on the porch. Taking in the warm night breeze.
It danced in my hair and carresed my face, I've never felt so at peace.
Before I knew it, I fell asleep outside under the full, glowing moon.

Chapter 2 - New World
Something warm and wet was touching my cheek.
My eyes began to slowly flutter open, there in front of me, was a small white bunny with violet eyes.
Did... Did that bunny just talk to me? A talking bunny??

You're OK! Thank goodness!
Willow Ashwood
Why wouldn't I b-
Wait a second! Why am I sitting in the middle of a forest??
I heard a thunder clap, great! Its going to rain!
I must've been sleep walking, there was a forest by Sakura's House.
I tried standing up but failed immediately, falling back down.
The bunny said hopping over.
Willow Ashwood
I-I'm fine...
I suddenly heard the clanging of metal. I crawled over to a nearby Bush, where I peeked over the top.
There was a tall handsome man, holding a sword. He was bleeding.
Willow Ashwood
I need to help him!
The bunny said, gripping my ankle
Willow Ashwood
Let go! He's hurt!
Yuzuki
He has men to help him! He'll kill you on sight!
I took another glance at the man, who was still fighting despite having arrows in his shoulder.
Then in the distance, I saw more soldiers approaching.
I crouched back down, scooping up the bunny.
Willow Ashwood
Where am I?
Yuzuki
I'll tell you later! But we need to get out of here!
She hopped off my hands and further into the woods. I ran after her.
We ran and ran, the forest seemed never ending. I tripped a few times, but this time it really hurt.

I don't think I can walk...
I tried moving my ankle but failed, I tripped over a sharp tree root, cutting and twisting my ankle.

Hey, it's ok...

Oh, do you have a name?
Yuzuki
Oh! How rude of me!

I'm Willow.
She smiled at me and nuzzled my hand, despite my anxiety of being... Wherever I am, I felt a little at ease with her.
Yuzuki
I can go the the village and find a doctor!
Before she would hear me out, she ran off.
But the crunch of leaves and breaking of twigs alerted me.
Someone is coming this way!
Crap! I tried to lift myself up to no avail. So I attempted crawling behind a tree.
Seryu
What do we have here~?
Seryu
You're not very good at hiding, human. Come out
The tall man with the ears of a fox and a large tail stood in front of me, smiling mischievously.
Wait... if he's not a human and he has fox ears.... Is he a kitsune??
He bent down, I scooted back.
Seryu
A foreigner, a western girl?
Seryu
Don't look so frightened, I won't harm you.
His eyes looked me over, stopping at me ankle.
He moved closer, scooping me into his arms.

Please put me down!
Seryu
You may reside at my castle until you've healed.
I glared at him, trying to be tough but unfortunately I found my gaze going up to his ears.
That drew a smile from his lips.
Willow Ashwood
Pfft! N-no!
I tried covering my flustered face, embarrassed.
Seryu
You can touch them if you want...
I looked at his ears again, hesitating I reached towards his ears, fondling them gently.
He avoided my eyes, blushing I noticed.
Seryu
O-ok, that's enough...
I let go and crossed my arms to keep from doing it again, they were so fluffy!
He whistled and a horse appeared seconds later. With one arm he mounted, still holding me close.
Seryu
Hold on to me, I don't want you to fall.
I gulped, still nervous, as I gripped onto his robe, using my other hand to hold the saddle.
