I Got Transmigrated Into A Horror Game Instead

Ch 0 - Prolouge

In a dark alley, where no light penetrated, the sound of footsteps echoed throughout the place. A man that was engulfed by the darkness quickly turned around. There stood a blonde girl emitting light.

“Finally, I found him.”

The girl, named Rachel, grinned from ear to ear with her blue eyes lit up. She looked rather happy, despite the fact her white ceremonial dress was messy and covered with mud.

She was searching for that black mage. That man started a rebellion, even a war, coloured this land with blood, and tried to summon the Devil.

She spent a very long time getting here.

“So you’re the one who has been interrupting me all this time!”

The black mage yelled with an angry tone. ‘It should be me who said it,’ complained Rachel inside. But she didn’t rattle on longer with her enemy in front of her. While Rachel remained silent, the black mage growled in anger.

“How on earth did you know all about my plans? If not because of you, I could become the ruler of this wo-argh!”

“You talk a lot.”

Then, a tall man standing behind her came forth and kicked the black mage.

“Dana, you aren’t talking?”

“You said you’d give me a title if I caught him. I just want to get it done quickly and go home.”

“I feel the same way. No need to listen to his words, Rachel,” said a silver-haired man who emerged after the tall man with reddish-brown hair that kicked the black mage.

“If you say so. But still, I’ll just say three words since he looks curious. Good, diligent, and striving!”

The black mage in front of her would never understand. How she was able to find him.

“Well, will you surrender obediently? Sir black mage, if you refuse, should I call you by your original name?”

At the mention of his name from Rachel’s lips, the black mage flinched.

Taking the opportunity, the silver-haired man ran forward and swung his sword. However, white bones loomed out from the ground and blocked his sword.

“The time has come! Caccia, Aceves, Abysses, Duro,” the black mage began to recite a spell with those words. Although he didn’t collect enough sacrifices to summon the Devil, the amount of blood he had sprayed over a while it was applicable. It was enough for him to use witchcraft.

“We have to stop him!”

Under the urgency of Rachel’s shriek, the two men rushed toward the black mage.

Alas, the evil energy had swirled and covered the sky.

I’m in a Horror Game

A person goes through many things in life. Among those, there are a lot of things that are barely incomprehensible.

However, if the incomprehensible phenomenon occurs not only once, but several times, then it is no longer special.

“Dead again.”

Here, a beautiful blonde girl sighed on the bed. Her big blue eyes were as clear as the eyes of a cat.

Many would see the image of a good angel the moment they laid eyes on her, but at this moment, curses that begin with ‘fu’ flowed from her mouth.

A curse word that didn’t suit a fifteen-year-old girl at all, but the way she uttered her swears was so natural.

However, she had no other way of venting out these intense feelings except to swear.

It wasn’t surprising, after all, she has died 12 times now, and her 13th life starts on this day.

***

Jung Yu-ri was an ordinary live horror game BJ*. Although she wasn’t very famous, her subscribers were gradually increasing, and one day she received an email.

[T/N: Broadcast Jockey in KR]

The email was sent by an indie game maker, and attached to it was a game file asking her to play his horror game.

When she saw the title 『Hello, Dad』, she thought that the theme would be fatherly love, but when she loaded it, the game was about a daughter trying to save her father instead of a father saving his daughter.

The daughter kept dying many times, like a sunfish, because of things that suddenly kept popping out.

And whenever the blonde girl named Rachel died, she vowed that she would definitely reach the ending.

Barely avoiding the knife-throwing dolls and the monsters that followed her like zombies, she collected the hints left in the mansion to determine the cause of everything.

The truth is, her father was an axis of evil, and he was the one who caused all of this by dabbling in black magic. To top it off, he was a mad scientist.

However, such a twist in a horror game no longer surprised her. Yu-ri kept a strong mentality and played, and on the first day of the week after, she cleared the game.

Although she never made it to the hidden ending and only saw one normal ending, she was satisfied that she was able to see Rachel surviving to the end, so she ended the broadcast at that and turned the game off.

But after the end credits, the game wouldn’t close no matter how many times she pressed X. Instead, Rachel in the game suddenly talked about whether she had finally found the one who could save her.

Soon, black hands emerged out of the monitor and grabbed Jung Yu-ri’s ankles, dragging her whole body.

Then when she opened her eyes, she saw that she was now in an unfamiliar place. At the same time, several blue windows appeared in front of her.

[You have possessed Rachel, the 13th witch.]

[Risk rate: 100%]

[For disturbing the causality, you have been inflicted with the curse of death.]

[The witch’s wish amplifies the ability to return for 3 years. If the witch or her family dies, she will return to the checkpoint.]

[The curse will disappear after 3 years. Hope you survive safely.]

She tried to make sense of the situation while several message windows popped up.

However, she was able to grasp the situation in a way she didn’t like.

As she leaned forward out the window and thought about what had happened to her, a servant who was repairing the roof dropped a material that struck her on the head that killed her instantly.

– You are dead. Return to checkpoint.

That was round one.

Waking up with a pain in her neck, she questioned the same situation when she woke up.

The view of the maid’s back running out the door and shouting ‘the lady!’ and the family that came running. The same diagnosis of the father who was a doctor, the same worried voice of the mother. It was all the same as before, with the younger brother standing blankly behind the mother.

After that, she stood by the window without sticking her neck out, and saw a board fall.

She heard a scream. Jung Yu-ri peeked out the window. A maid on the first floor had been hit by a wooden plank and her head was crushed to death. The maid’s appearance was identical to the monster with a broken head that appeared in the game.

Only when the accident stopped the maintenance work did Rachel understand the meaning of the text on the blue window in front of her.

But the next day, as she walked down the hallway, she made eye contact with a mouse sticking out of its mouse hole.

“Kyaa!”

Startled, her foot slipped, and her body tilted and collided with a statue standing in the hallway.

The statue wobbled and leaned towards her then fell.

– You are dead. Return to checkpoint.

The guide voice she heard when she died in the first round was heard again. And just like that, she died in the second round.

In the third round, she was looking around the yard and fell into a well then died.

In the fourth round, when she heard that divine power could dispel her curse, she headed for the temple, but the carriage’s wheel broke then fell off a cliff and she died.

In the fifth round, she tripped on the roots of an apple tree in the yard and was stung by a swarm of bees after touching the beehive.

In the sixth round, she succeeded in going to the temple, but on her way back, her younger brother Deino got shot by an arrow which made her return.

In the 7th round, she fell on a rose bush in the garden and died of unknown cause.

On the 8th, she went to inspect the annex warehouse and was struck by a hammer that fell from the shelf and died.

And on the 9th round, she died while going down the stairs to the main basement.

She returned nine times for trivial reasons.

She regressed again, and decided that this was not something she could solve alone, so in round 10, as soon as she woke up, she revealed everything to her family.

However, her father, who was also her doctor, diagnosed her with delirium caused by a concussion, and detained Jung Yu-ri on the second floor. All dangerous items disappeared from the second floor.

Fortunately for her who had become Rachel, Jung Yu-ri could read the language here, so she read Rachel’s diary that she found in her room. She also read books while she was locked in her father’s study on the second floor. Then, about two years later, someone in her family died and she returned again.

Round 11, Jung Yu-ri recalled the previous round and decided to keep everything a secret from her family. Luckily, there had been no accident after avoiding all the dangers she had experienced earlier.

She first tried to figure out why her mother’s death occurred. However, two years later, she returned shortly after her mother left on a carriage.

In the 12th round, she thought that the carriage was the cause, so Jung Yu-ri nagged the coachman to maintain the carriage well.

The experience she gained from the previous rounds let her live without dying for two years, but the day after that, her mother disappeared when members of her maternal family were executed for rebellion. Then she returned.

So, Jung Yu-ri, no, she was Rachel now, has reached Round 13.

In terms of the number of years, she has lived as Rachel for about 6 years and a month and she really wanted to go past three years.

As soon as she woke up, her maid ran out of the room. This was the 13th time she had seen it. Now her family would come.

As Rachel expected, her family came running.

“Rachel!”

A blonde woman resembling Rachel hugged her. Her name is Evelyn, Rachel’s mother.

A person who doesn’t appear in the game, a person who died a year before the original story, and the person who was likely the cause of Rachel return at least three times.

She would always hug Rachel each time she woke up. Jung Yu-ri, an orphan, felt cozy in her arms.

“Are you okay? Does your head hurt?”

Before Jung Yu-ri possessed this body, they said that Rachel fell off a stair railing.

“Yes, I am fine.”

“There doesn’t seem to be anything wrong, so rest for the time being.”

And now, the black-haired man looking at Rachel’s condition. Henry Emporus, Rachel’s father.

As a doctor who only catered to the nobility, he rarely stayed in the capital, so in more than six years, Rachel’s face to face with him was less than a month.

Nevertheless, Henry had a good relationship with her mother, Evelyn. He was cold only to his daughter. He was a blunt but affectionate father to his son, and a good husband to his wife. Rachel never knew why.

‘I acted cute for that.’

He did not fall for the cute act of his lovely daughter.

There was only one time he had acted nice to Rachel. It was in the 6th round when she went to the temple with her family.

He was cold to her while they were in the carriage, but strangely, he tried to get to know her after they came out of the temple. However, she couldn’t say for sure because Deino died after bandits swarmed him and she returned.

Whatever their relationship was, Henry was a figure Rachel had been watching since the beginning.

After Evelyn’s death, he engaged in human body experiments and black magic to save his beloved wife.

Black magic is manifested by borrowing the powers of the devil, and if executed incorrectly, disaster would come.

And those disasters were what took place in the mansion where Rachel lived.

In other words, the monsters, corpses, dolls, statues, etc. that appeared in the game and harmed people were the results of black magic.

That would have also been Rachel’s future had she not returned when her family died.

‘That future can’t be broken if I start from scratch.’

Even if she writes down the original content, all of her notes disappear once she returns. Then that means she has to memorize everything in her head, but it has been over 6 years since she transmigrated. She could only remember the main game content and could no longer recall where the ghosts and monsters will be popping out from.

There was only one conclusion. To prevent Henry from touching black magic. It was essential to save Evelyn here.

Chapter 1

There was something she realized as she repeatedly died and regressed. It can never be beaten alone.

The only thing she gained from her honesty in the 10th round was the title ‘The Mad Lady’ and life in confinement. She was, in a word, considered psychotic.

But as she lived in confinement, she realized something while reading books. When she’s completely honest, she becomes a lady sick in the head, but if she mixes in a little lie, she can become a prophet.

“I had an ominous dream. Please call a priest.”

God existed in this world, and those who were chosen by God could use divine powers.

Although divine powers could not cure diseases, it can treat physical injuries and can expel evil things.

Even Rachel once thought that divine powers could dispel the curse of death.

But the result was a failure. The priest did not know anything about the curse. Instead, she told a more terrifying conclusion.

The devil seems to be after her, so be careful.

The devil worshiping organization she heard about at that time was called Daimon. Rachel had never met them, though.

Nevertheless, she tried to call the priest because of an accident at the beginning of her return. If she tries to avoid an accident, she can avoid it. Then, after avoiding it, the risk rate would be lowered in some cases, but in some others, it won’t.

Rachel thought that this time, she would have the priest inspect the interior of the mansion.

If what she said matches what the priest finds, her family will take it as the truth and see it as an ominous future.

“Let’s do that.”

Evelyn, who believes in the Lux Church, immediately accepted Rachel’s request.

“First of all, planks will fall off when we do roof repairs. Tell the servants not to walk under the windows of my room.”

After hearing her words, her family had this expression on their faces that couldn’t tell whether Rachel’s words were real or false.

‘I should have said it calmly in the previous round.’

Because her death and return to round 10 were so quick and happened in a matter of days, she couldn’t calm down. She felt that something was coming for her life from all sides, and she panicked.

As soon as she woke up, she wept and told them what was happening. Henry just shook his head weakly and spat out the word delirium.

His monocled eyes shone coldly and she gave up trying to convince him as his expression and voice were cold rather than calm.

As the morning passed and lunch time approached, she heard a noise from outside.

It was the event Rachel had been waiting for. Thanks to Evelyn’s orders, the maids went around her window to avoid anyone being injured. A large plank fell off the roof and shattered on the ground.

Henry and Evelyn came out late. The two couldn’t hide their surprise and had no choice but to believe Rachel and her ominous dream.

Meanwhile, Rachel was checking the blue window in front of her.

[Risk Rate : 97%]

It went down this time. There were a total of three methods Rachel used to avoid roof accidents.

Avoid it alone.

Tell the working servant to be careful in advance.

And like this time, let the accident happen, but tell the maids to be careful.

Among these, the risk only lowered in the latter two cases.

‘The difference is…’

“It’s true! Was there anything else?”

“I want to check when the priest comes.”

Most of the accidents she had been through were those that, with just a little care, would not have hurt her. Things that she could actually avoid if she wanted to.

Nevertheless, she remained on guard after the initial accident. She didn’t know if the effect of the curse had simply expired or the accident may have just not yet occured.

If the curse of death continues, it should always be dangerous, but so far, dangerous things have mostly happened inside the mansion.

The only exception was the carriage accident.

“One more thing, I want you to check the wheels of the carriage.”

Rachel added while thinking. Evelyn called a servant and had the coachman check the carriage.

After a while, the servant returned.

“I checked with the coachman and he said that the axles of the carriage wheels were worn out.”

“Rachel, what you said is true!”

Evelyn took Rachel’s hand.

[Risk Rate : 91%]

The risk was lowered since the coachman started to work on the wheels of the wagon.

Evelyn came to trust Rachel’s words.

‘Honestly, it’s easy to convince my mother. The problem is she keeps dying after two years.’

Even though she was already dead from the start of the game, isn’t it too cruel to keep dying?

This time, she intended to get her close to the priest and put her next to Evelyn..

‘I need money to do that.’

Even a priest who believes in God does not do free service.

They regularly visited and healed the poor, as well as collected and raised orphans, so this was all financed by the nobility and the wealthy.

Rachel’s house was wealthy enough to have employees, but they weren’t ridiculously rich.

Henry was a doctor who only treated the nobility so he made a lot of money, however, he could not be compared to a lord who has authority over millions.

As she pondered, Rachel opened her mouth.

“Mother, should I learn merchant skills under uncle? I can read letters and I can count numbers.”

“Why all of a sudden?”

“It’s not all of a sudden, I’ve been thinking about it for a long time.”

Rachel’s father, an Emporus, was from a merchant family. Her great-great-grandfather bought a baron title to become a nobleman, and since then has been successful in trade and amassed an enormous fortune.

The third son, Henry, did not inherit the title, as the eldest son, Paris Emporus, succeeded the title. Still, their father did not spare financial support to his children while he was alive, and Henry studied at the university and received a doctorate, and was currently working as doctor to the nobility.

In a nutshell, Rachel’s uncle, Paris Emporus, was a huge merchant with lots of money. Best of all, he will skillfully climb the ladder a year later and become a count.

“It’s my uncle’s merchant company, not anyone else’s, wouldn’t it be good to learn the job?”

“I see. I’ll try to contact him.”

Three days later, Paris Emporus visited. The distance between the mansion and the Emporus estate takes more than two days even by horse-drawn carriage, but as soon as he received the message, he knew that he had to come to the mansion.

After hearing that Paris Emporus had arrived, Rachel quickly finished getting ready and went down to the first floor. In the previous round, she nearly fell from the stairs between the second and first floors several times, so she slowly walked down.

“Uncle!”

Rachel ran towards the man who had just entered the mansion.

Usually, you’d think that a merchant would be a man with a huge belly, but Paris Emporus was thin and his skin was pale. Overall, he looked like a weak scholar. He smiled brightly as soon as he saw Rachel.

“Rachel, it’s been a while! You’ve become very tall!”

“Yes. How are you uncle?”

Rachel didn’t hate him. Having only two sons, he adored his one and only niece.

Rachel was also human, so she was more pleased with the friendly Paris Emporus than Henry, who didn’t give a cr*p. She saw more of her uncle’s face than her father’s on all of her returns, so how can she not help it?

“You’ve come. Older brother.”

Henry and Evelyn have just come down. Only Deino, who hated the Baron, didn’t come out.

“Yes. I’m here. How come you look like that every time I see you? Aren’t you happy to see your older brother?”

“Aren’t you coming here too often?”

“Come often? I’ve waited so long to see Rachel.”

“Whoever sees you will think she’s your daughter.”

“Is that so? Rachel, will you be my daughter?”

Paris Emporus trembled at his brother’s words. Because he was a merchant, he did not have the arrogant characteristic of nobles.

Rachel looked at Henry. His face hardened. Paris Emporus saw his brother’s expression and patted him on the back and laughed out loud.

“Why? Are you afraid Rachel will agree to become my daughter?”

Henry didn’t answer. Instead, Evelyn opened her mouth.

“Welcome. And I can’t give Rachel to you. She’s my precious daughter.”

“That’s too bad. Have you been well?”

“Thanks to you.”

Evelyn and Paris Emporus greeted each other with a laugh. Rachel shook her head as she watched her father’s expression harden.

“It must have been hard to come by carriage, so please rest.”

Contrary to his usual visit, his attendants did not carry his luggages to the guest room.

Rachel, who had him visit several times in previous rounds, was puzzled. The answer came right out of his mouth.

“It’s fine. A merchant can’t be uncomfortable with a carriage. I was just about to go down to complete a trade deal with Haas when I got the letter so I quickly came.”

“You were busy, I’m sorry.”

“No. Rachel wants to learn from me. How could I refuse? I came quickly because I wanted her to experience this trip. May I take Rachel now?”

“I haven’t packed my bags…”

“It’s okay. I can buy what you need.”

He replied calmly. Hearing that he was in a hurry, Evelyn couldn’t keep Baron Emporus, who took Rachel’s hand and boarded the carriage.

“I’ll be back.”

“Alright, go and learn a lot!”

Rachel got into the carriage and waved her hand to her family. She had no idea she would leave so fast.

She then thought that meeting the priest and examining the mansion would just need to be postponed until a later date.

“I don’t know if you have motion sickness, but drink this first.”

“Thank you.”

The baron handed Rachel a motion sickness pill. Rachel took it and drank it. But her eyelids started to get very heavy. She wasn’t just sleepy, it was as if she had taken sleeping pills.

“Don’t tell me!”

Rachel suspected Paris Emporus too late. Her eyes closed and a beep sounded in her dream.

– You are dead. Return to checkpoint.

The next time she opened her eyes, she saw a blue window and a familiar ceiling. Round 14 has begun.

“Oh, fu-.”

“Lady! You’re awake! I will call Master!”

As always, the maid jumped up and started running out of the room. Even though there was a call rope in Rachel’s room.

In the meantime, Rachel was lost in her thoughts. Paris Emporus gave her a sleeping pill and killed her. But she didn’t know why.

Her family came. Rachel felt Evelyn’s arms as she hugged her, repeating what she did in the previous round.

‘This time I won’t call for him.’

It was something that never happened during the 12th round. Even when she was alone with him in the mansion, he didn’t do anything suspicious so Rachel never doubted him.

‘By the way, he hit me in the head on the 13th?’

She didn’t know why, but the back of her head was stinging.

‘I won’t be alone with him outside the mansion.’

Rachel etched this in her mind. She had to find out why the baron had killed her, but she had to look for a way because he wouldn’t just easily spit it out.

‘To do that.’

In order to earn money and flush out Paris Emporus, she had to have much power and capital, but that would be impossible for a woman who had just returned.

‘Should I meet Abyss?’

Abyss, a merchant who always competed with Paris Emporus in the previous rounds. She had never seen his face and only heard that he had been taken care of when Paris Emporus became count.

‘First and foremost, let’s start with the priest.’

Five days had passed since she woke up. Finally, the day she had been waiting for so long came.

‘Will Priest Peace come?’

Rachel remembered the white-haired priest who welcomed Evelyn every time they went to the temple.

She acted like a sister when she called Evelyn. Evelyn also seemed close to the priest.

The carriage that was sent out to greet the priest entered the mansion grounds. Evelyn smiled brightly and waited for the guest to disembark from the carriage.

“Huh?”

As she thought of what to say to the priest, Rachel, who was behind Evelyn, involuntarily let out a surprised sound.

Chapter 2

The carriage door opened and the guests got off. However, it was not Priest Peace who got down first, but a boy with short silver hair.

Rachel knew the neat-looking boy wearing a white uniform.

‘Why are you here?’

He was Enoch, an aide who was treated as a male protagonist in 『Hello, Dad』. At one point, he was someone Rachel was looking for. She had not found him so far, and yet he appeared in this unexpected situation.

A breeze blew and shook his silver hair. The boy’s beauty was so great that it looked like a halo was shining from behind him.

Rachel saw the illusion of flowers fluttering around him. She slapped herself on the cheek and soon regained her senses.

The boy who got off first stood in front of the carriage door and helped Priest Peace alight the carriage.

“Welcome!”

“Sister!”

The two women hugged each other. Looking at the two who didn’t have any hesitation, Rachel thought that it was different from when they met at the temple.

Is it because this is the mansion? Evelyn had thrown away her etiquette and formality.

The two separated and asked each other how they were doing and spent nearly 5 minutes just answering.

“Oh my, I must have been out of my mind. How could I leave our guests in the yard? Let’s talk inside.”

Rachel sent a gaze to Evelyn. It was an unspoken sign to remember why they called the priest.

She soon felt Rachel’s gaze. Evelyn smiled and led her to Rachel.

“This is my daughter Rachel. You’ve seen her before, right?”

“She has really grown a lot. By the way…”

Priest Peace hesitated to speak. Rachel knew what was going to come out of her mouth, so she wasn’t surprised by the reaction.

Instead, Rachel looked at the boy behind the priest. Although he looked younger than the one in the original, he was definitely Enoch.

In the original, he appears in the lobby on the first floor of the main building as [Unknown silver-haired man]. He emitted holy light to kill enemies, carried Rachel who had weakened legs, and solved other problems when a trap came out of the annex that separated him from Rachel.

Just before going to the basement, he revealed his name.

‘You were a paladin from the temple! I didn’t see you when I went to the temple before.’

Now, even if she goes to the next round, she can still find him. Rachel stared into his face.

From the yard to the mansion, he furrowed his brows as if he felt uncomfortable, but he was still handsome.

In the original story, he was gentle and did not show anger, but since he was still a boy right now, he was still honest with his feelings.

“Priest.”

“I know. Let’s talk in the drawing room first.”

Enoch was stopped while trying to say something to Priest Peace. Rachel was sure that her predictions were right.

They moved to the first-floor drawing room and a maid, who served tea, dragged the cart and followed.

A cup was placed in front of all of them and the maid was sent out after tea was poured.

“Aren’t you surprised by the sudden call?”

“I wouldn’t be surprised by this. In fact, I wouldn’t even be surprised if Sister Evelyn caught a dragon.”

The priest calmly answered Evelyn’s question, and Enoch, who was sitting next to her, widened his golden eyes. To be precise, he responded to the name Evelyn.

“Is that true? Is this the Evelyn-nim?”

As if he had met his hero, the boy’s eyes, who had a bad expression all this time, brightened. Rachel couldn’t understand his reaction and looked at Evelyn.

“I don’t know who the Evelyn-nim you know is, but if it’s the Evelyn who trained in the temple in the past, then that must be me.”

At Evelyn’s answer, Enoch’s expression sparkled, like a child who just received a Christmas present.

Rachel wondered about Evelyn’s past. The Evelyn she knew was just a beautiful, ordinary, noble woman, and she could not understand why Enoch was acting that way.

“Priest, who is this tall boy?”

At Evelyn’s question, Enoch broadened his shoulders and straightened his chest.

“He’s the kid I’m keeping an eye on.”

“A priest, right?”

“Introduce yourself.”

“This is Lux’s servant, Enoch.” [Enoch]

Meanwhile, Priest Peace drank tea. Enoch had calmed down and seemed to have realized that he had been too excited.

“Actually, it is my daughter, not me, who has a business with the priest.”

Everyone’s eyes turned to Rachel. Rachel smiled calmly.

“Greetings. As mother mentioned, I asked her to call the priest. As you probably have already felt, I would like to receive counsel about my abilities, my body, and this mansion.”

At Rachel’s words, Priest Peace asked in a low voice.

“Miss Rachel seems to already know a lot.”

“I saw an ominous future through my dreams after I fell off the stairs. It was mostly about me dying.”

There was no need to say that she died and returned. Dreams were the easiest.

“My first dream was that I was hit by a material that fell off the roof.”

At Rachel’s words, Evelyn nodded her head.

“The day Rachel woke up, a plank fell from the roof. The child said it before the accident happened.”

“What next?”

“A statue, a well, a carriage, bumblebees, thieves, rose bushes, hammers, stairs to the basement. And even a doll caused my death, which I saw in my dreams.”

So far, she has never been killed by a knife-wielding doll, but Rachel has included the doll as well.

“Really?”

Evelyn was also hearing this for the first time and had a surprised expression on her face.

‘You must have thought that even though I saw an ominous future, that there would only be a few.’

She seemed shocked that Rachel knew a lot more than she expected.

Soon after, Evelyn opened her mouth.

“Priest, actually, Rachel’s accident wasn’t from falling off the stair railing.”

Rachel turned her head to look at Evelyn. This was the first time she had ever heard her say this. Rachel only knew that it was a stair railing accident before she took possession of Rachel’s body.

Priest Peace nodded her head, telling her to go on with her story, and Evelyn continued.

“I felt the gaze a few days ago. There was a presence so I followed it, but it disappeared in an instant.”

“Sister couldn’t catch it even with your powers?”

Priest Peace naturally mentioned Evelyn’s abilities. What powers could her ordinary mother have? She thought to herself.

“Yes. I told the family and the employees that Rachel’s accident was from leaning on a railing and falling, but…”

Evelyn threw Rachel a look. She seemed to be hesitating.

“The truth is, a black shadow dragged Rachel, and I caught it, but it disappeared. Rachel doesn’t seem to remember the situation.”

What is it? I’m scared! Rachel rubbed her arms that had goosebumps.

It is true that the original was a horror game, but there had been no ghosts nor monsters so far. There were many accidents, but she thought they were far from scary, but now, Evelyn was saying that there was a black shadow.

“Then it is my turn to talk. There is an ominous aura in Miss Rachel’s body and in this mansion.”

Rachel was unimpressed because it was a story she had heard before, but hearing this, Evelyn broke the fan she was holding in her hand.

Rachel scratched her cheek as she saw Evelyn break the sturdy fan with just her grip. No matter how she looked at it, it was something that shouldn’t have been able to break with one hand.

“An ominous energy?”

“For example, the energy of the devil?”

It was Rachel, not Priest Peace, who answered Evelyn’s question. Rachel’s reply shocked Evelyn.

She got up from the sofa and grabbed Rachel’s shoulder.

“What do you mean? Did you touch black magic?”

Black magic. There was a perception that black magic was a very evil force in this country. Also, black magicians were thoroughly suppressed in Kudas.

This was because a certain black magician summoned the devil in the past and a small kingdom was erased from the map.

Evelyn looked down at Rachel as if she was a mother who could not tolerate her child partaking in black magic.

Rachel couldn’t answer because the shoulders she was holding hurt so much. As a result, Priest Peace stood up and stopped her.

“It’s not like that. This is not a contract with the devil, she is being targeted by him.”

At Priest Peace’s explanation, Evelyn relaxed her hands and plopped down on the sofa.

“Why?”

Priest Peace approached Rachel and imbued her with her divine powers. The throbbing pain in her shoulder was relieved at once.

“Do not worry too much. Thanks to God’s blessing, she remains untouched.”

Only then did Evelyn breathe a sigh of relief and said she was sorry.

“Did Miss Rachel know?”

“Because it is also an ominous thing.”

Rachel glossed over it like that. She was actually more surprised that the people accepted her abilities so easily.

“Then shall we take a look inside the mansion just as Miss Rachel said?”

The four of them came out of the drawing room. Rachel found Henry hanging out in the hallway. Evelyn called to him in a joyful voice.

“Honey?”

Originally, he should have gone up to the capital around this time. However, in this round, he did not go to the capital and stayed in the mansion.

Evelyn was delighted, but Rachel narrowed her eyes.

‘Why didn’t you go?’

“Is it because you’re worried about Rachel? You didn’t listen to me when I asked you to listen together!”

Evelyn smiled and patted her husband on the back. Rachel looked at him as he frowned and she prayed for the well-being of Henry’s back.

“Priest. Can we talk separately before you go?”

“Let’s do that.”

“What is it, honey? If you ask me, I can tell you everything.”

Evelyn spoke in a playful tone, and Henry replied that it was nothing.

“It’s nice to see you two. Then, I’ll make time to see you before I go. Or would you like to go together now?”

At the priest’s suggestion, Henry decided to go with them.

The first place they checked was the hallway on the first floor close to the drawing room. Standing in the hallway lined with paintings and statues, the priest and Enoch stood right in front of the one statue.

The white statue made of plaster was precisely depicted down to each wrinkle.

It was a well-made statue, but it was also the statue that caused Rachel to die in the second round.

Priest Peace looked at Rachel’s expression and, as if convinced of something, asked to move the statue to the yard. Evelyn called her servants to move the statue to the yard.

Then she took the doll from Rachel’s room and went out.

“Let’s check these first. Where did you get these things?”

Henry’s expression hardened slightly at Priest Peace’s question. Rachel’s eyes narrowed on their own.

If you think about it, Henry was suspicious. He was also the younger brother of Paris Emporus who had killed her.

She didn’t want to suspect him, but she was a little suspicious of him because Henry was only cold to her.

“The statue was originally in this mansion, and the doll was a gift from my brother to my daughter. Is there a problem?”

“Yes, there is a problem. If you look under the statue, there are traces of plaster added. If you scratch here…”

Priest Peace aimed at the lower part of the statue with her cane. Then the part tore apart as it was being scraped.

Someone gasped. A yellow skull peeked through the broken statue. The priest then smashed the statue, avoiding breaking the skull, which was then revealed completely. There was a cut on the skull as if it had been sawed off.

Rachel had seen that skull in a game.

A huge skeleton that jumped and chased after you. On the 1st floor stage, this skeleton clung to you relentlessly, created traps that would kill you the moment you encountered it, and collapsed the 1st floor floor while escaping.

In the game, it was a boring enemy that disappeared only after meeting Enoch.

[Risk rate: 89%]

Rachel checked the blue window in front of her.

‘The risk went down!’

The risk rate would not have gone down if she had simply avoided it.

“The statue was originally hollow, but someone placed a skull inside.”

Priest Peace said while examining the fragments of the broken statue. Then her gaze turned to the hide-and-seek doll.

“Let’s also check that in front of everyone.”

The little doll with curly blonde hair, blue eyes and a pink dress was very pretty, but it was a doll that would hack away at you if you met it in the game.
