Fiona gently pushed open the door of her fiance's bachelor's pad. She was sure that Derek will be surprised when she visits him. Isn't it true that they haven't seen each other for days? Her superstitious aunt forbade it because they were about to get married.
She didn't use the duplicate key because the door was already open. That only means one thing, her boyfriend is here.
the maiden was shaken by the grimy arrangement of the small living room. (This man really needs to get married) she said to herself. She picked up the scattered glasses and empty beer bottles and arranged the mob thrown pillows on the sofa.
She was about to enter the dining room just next to the living room when she heard a noise. She thought Derek was in the room sleeping, but he was in the kitchen.
But who is he talking to?
Fiona continued walking and was again struck by what she saw. She did not know what she should do. Will she go ahead and let her boyfriend and bestfriend know she's there, or will she just listen to what the two are talking about?
She hid in the driftwood and decided to listen. She didn't like the arrangement of the two very much. Derek was wearing only a towel, while Christy, her "bestfriend", was wearing only robe.
Derek sipped his coffee and spoke. "It's good that your friend's old aunt is strict".
Christy frowned and played with the teaspoon in her cup.
Fiona bit her lip so hard. She felt like she was weakening.
"Tell me, Derek." Christy said. "How will you last in Fiona's accompany? I find her very boring, you know." She smiled slightly. "I don't really think you'll last with her especially since you're getting married."
The man laughed slightly and stroked the woman's cheek. "It's worth it, Honey," He said while smiling. "I can make a lot of sacrifices, even if it means I would be flushed."
"Is that just for you?"
"Of course not. You are involved of course. We will build our own empire and we will be as rich as your friend. You will have everything you want. I'll give it all to you."
Fiona's eyes narrowed. How did Derek and her bestfriend could do this to her? Of all the people in the world, why the two who she trusted the most?
Christy spoke again. "How can you do that, Honey?"
the young man smiled. "I'll make her life miserable until she herself asked us to separate. And when that happens, I will demand for a very large amount of money."
The woman laughed as if the world was theirs.
Fiona came out of her hiding spot and slowly moved towards the table. They are still in their celebration.
She pulled out a chair and sat down. Then the laughter stopped. Perhaps they felt a different presence.
"S-sweetheart!" The shock in Derek's voice was unmistakable.
Fiona smiled. The man was about to stand up to kiss her, but Fiona waved one hand and smiled.
"Continue the story, Sweetheart." She commanded. "I find it amusing."
Christy swallowed and looked at Derek. The man was not worried. He even smiled. "How long have you been here, Fiona? "Composed question. He looked at Christy as if he's giving her a warning look.
Fiona leaned back in her seat. "I just got here, Derek," she replied. "Just in time for me to hear what're you guys talking about." Fiona looked at her friend and smiled. The girl turned red. The young man stands up and he was about to approached his seat when Fiona holds one of his arms and she forced him to stand up. He did not torture it.
Fiona turned red because of anger. She felt cheated, fooled. The person she trusts is the one who betrayed her.
"You shouldn't be here, Fiona."
She raised her one eyebrow. "Oh I'm sorry, Honey. But I thought I missed you that much."
The man grinned. It really looked treacherous in his eyes.
"Of course you do," she added as if she didn't noticed it yet. "I miss you too, Fiona."
He was about to kiss her when she slapped the young man. As if Christy had been knocked out of the seat by what she saw and as if it had been burned, Derek walked away from where he was standing, holding his injured cheek.
"You deserve it, Derek," She whispered. "I should have done worse to you."
The man shook his head. "You don't know what you're saying,Fiona. let me explain. You're not the one we're talking about."
"Believe us, Fiona," Christy explained. She stands up. But at the sight of anger on her face she was afraid to approach her.
"Fiona..." Derek slowly approached her. She did not act. He's getting closer. And when he touched her she shook the young man's hand.
She wanted to slap the man and her friend. But she calm herself and if she didn’t restrain herself she could go to jail if she done something much worse than a slap.
"Fiona..."
"You can't fool me, Derek," She said while trembling.
"I'm not fooling you. I swear!"
"Tell that to the marines!" she screamed narrowing her eyes.
The man backed away. He was obviously scared of her sudden outburst.
"You can't fool me, Derek. What do you think I'm going to conceive when I saw you two here, dressed as you are now? you can't fool me that easily. You probably made love to her In the livingroom that I've cleaned."
"No! what you say is not true, Fiona."
Fiona laughed. "I said you can't fool me. What do you think I am, an idiot?"
"She's jealous, Derek," Christy yelled at the young man which made Fiona's blood boil even more. What do they want to show, that she's jealous? making her feel stupid and silly? . And Fiona make sure that she won't let them get out of it that easily.
"Fiona, I can explain." he raised his two hands in the air. "We can explain. "We are getting married and it's not good if we have this problem."
Fiona smiled and Derek also smiled. Christy sighed thought that they have fooled her.
"So..."
the two didn't move, they just looked at each other. It's like wondering who will be the first to invent a lie.
The young man swallowed before he could speak. "We were discussing some... I mean, about our wedding."
She nods. "I heard that. As well as what you said earlier that your dream is to be flush and that I am the easiest person to use for you to fulfill your goal," she said sarcastically while smiling. "But you're wrong, Derek. A Johnson's will never marry a swindler and opportunist."
Fiona stands up to her seat and she walks away. The man followed her. He reached her at the door. "Fiona..." his voice sounds pleading.
Fiona confronts him. "C'mon, Derek," she said angrily. "I was willing to marry you even if we have different status in life. I thought you really loved me because I am me. But now, I realized, you're only interested in my wealth."
"That's not true, Fiona," He refuse.
"How smooth are you when you tell lies. Tell me, how many women have you deceived? I'm sorry, Derek, but I won't marry you." after she said that she left the young man lingered in that place.
She vented her anger by driving the car really fast. She almost hit a car at a running speed. What she didn't know was that the man followed her.
She quickly got out of the car and entered the mansion. She was about to climb the stairs when her mother's sister came out of the kitchen. She stopped climbing when her aunt asked her.
"Where have you been, Fiona? It's dangerous to go out to those who are about to get married.
She laughed and shook her head. "Aunt, I'm not getting married, not in the near future."
Her aunt frowned.
Fiona continued to climb while speaking. "Auntie, when Derek comes don't let him in."
"But I'm already here, Honey. We need to talk."
She turned violently and saw the man. Her anger exploded again.
Is it not clarified yet? Is he dumb or something? Or he is just thick -faced and desperate to get rich?
"Go away, Derek!" she said emphatically as she pointed at the large door. Before he could move, she shouted at the man. "I said go away! I don't want to see your face again---ever!"
"Fiona!"
"Please, Aunt Madel, let me handle this" She begged her aunt while not looking away from the man. She now just stares at the man she was supposed to marry.
"Fiona, I swear I'm not fooling you. I love you but not your money. Believe me, Honey," - A litany. Fiona folded her arms and leaned against the railing. She likes what he says --- it seems real. She thought he could be an actor because of his believable actions and lies.
"What's all this nonsense, Fiona? You two need to fix your problem." Her Aunt said.
Derek's smile was not hidden from his face. He looks like a demon with horns.
"Fiona..." her aunt told her again.
"Auntie, please tell her that we need to discuss it. She won't listen to me. Convince her, please."
"Traitor!"
The man swallowed and her aunt's eyes narrowed again.
Fiona started walking down the stairs.
"If you want lots of money..." She paused when she reached the bottom of the stairs and stopped in front of her ex-fiance. "You have to earn it the hard way and not by the Johnson's company. You're nothing but a user. You.Are. Fired!"
"You can't do that!" he shouted.
"Oh, but I just did" Fiona smirked and she looked at her aunt. "Get that man out of here, Aunt Madel. I don't want to see him again."
"You will be embarrassed, Fiona" his threatening her.
Fiona laughed annoyingly. "I would rather be embarrassed than marrying a gold digger. I told you, Derek: The Johnson's won't marry an opportunist like you!"
"Fiona..." Anger flashed in his eyes.
"Did that hurt you? Is it also like the pain I feel? You all mens are the same. All you want is my money. But before you could even steal some cash from me I already know it right away. And don't come back!"
The young man shrugged as he came out of the mansion. After leaving, the girl could no longer control herself. She runs crying up to her room. When the door closed, she jumped on the bed and cried.
(Why does this always happen to me? Whenever I found love there is always something wrong. How many men have been eager for the wealth I inherited?)
And of all those men Derek was her longest -running boyfriend. She did not immediately know its intention. (And, gosh, I almost got married to him!)
Their wedding is ready next week. It is set to be the wedding of the year because the wedding of the daughter of the proposed owner of Johnson's empire --- the famous Johnson's empire that is the only wish of the men's who had a relationship with her will definitely be discussed.
She couldn't believe, that she --- Fiona Daniella Johnson --- was always considered to be fooled by men.
If it's all about beauty, then it's not a problem because her features is almost-perfect that can't be discounted. Asian beauty can be described to her.
She is a brunette with a smooth complexion. Her long, straight hair was black like the night sky shining bright.
Her brown eyes always seemed to speak, they were almost narrow when she smiled. Her red and thin lips. And add her shapely curvy body. But why does no one seem to really love her? it seemed that all the man she met only wanted her money.
They merely wanted her so they could be part of the vast Johnson's empire---to be called one of the owners of Daniella Shippings derived from her name.
The girl felt sorry for herself. Is there no man who will like her and not her money?
She was tired of waiting. What always comes is a mistake. Is she able to find a man that she wants?
With the intensity of self -pity and anger she fell asleep.
"Auntie, where's Fiona?"
Lester took off the coat he was wearing and handed it to his wife behind him. The man frowned as the aunt sighed.
(There's a problem), he thought as he entered the mansion followed by the two women.
"I'm going upstairs, Honey," his wife said. Lester nodded and turned back to his Aunt. " Where's Fiona, Auntie? She said she was going to the office. I waited all day, but she didn't come."
"It happened again, Lester..." his aunt said softly.
The man looked up where Fiona room was, and immediately got it what his aunt said and wanted to be depressed. This is the 15th times she loses a man?
"This is the worst of all, Derek. Your sister is set to marry that man." his aunt said with a worried face.
Lester shook his head and headed upstairs. he felt pity for his only sibling. Until now she still hasn't found the right man.
"Are you going to talk to her?"
Lester nods.
He saw his sister laying on her bed sleeping and was still wearing what she had been wearing from earlier. Jeans and a loose T-shirt.
Lester sat on the side of the bed and stroked his sister's hair. The girl didn't move.
"Fiona, this is your brother..."
She sobbed, then turned around, tears in her eyes.
It was as if Lester could feel her sister's feelings seeing her poor face. He sighed.
"What happened, Sweet?"
Fiona sobbed and sat up on the bed. She stared at her brother. "I'll never find someone like you, Lester."
"Of course, Sweet, I'm the only, Lester here, you'll never find someone like me."
Even though she cried, she still smiled.
Lester also smiled. He wiped the tears from Fiona's cheeks and put his arm around her.
Fiona leaned on her brother's shoulder. "He's one of them, Lester," she complained. She started crying again. "He only loves my money. He only loves my money..."
He pat her back. "You shouldn't cry for a guy like him, Sweet. You are just wasting your tears."
"But I can't help it." She sighed and tried to keep the tears from running down her cheeks.
"When you discover a person’s true color, you'll realize that it's not really that bad to lose him."
She shook her head. "You're just saying that because you don't feel the way I feel. Because your wife loves you not because you're rich."
The man sighed and makes her sister look at him. He tore a few strands of hair on her face.
"You'll find the perfect someone in the nearest future, Sis," he said sincerely.
"I'm tired of waiting. No one will love me for what I am," she sighed and hugged his brother.
Lester rubbed Fiona's back and let her cry quietly. Fiona's wealth is like a curse.
(My poor little sister). Lester nodded.
"There is a right time for everything, Sweet," he said.
The girl was forced to smile. "I hope so, Lester. But I still don't know if that will happen."
Lester smiled and stroked her cheeks.
"Remember this---I love you for what you are, my sweet sister."
"Am I still your sweet Sunrise?" Fiona is now smiling.
"Of course. You will always be." he kissed her sisters forehead.
