Inside an apartment, a beautiful woman wearing a black hoodie is gracefully typing on the keyboard of her laptop. The fast movements of her fingers is truly amazing to watch, every movement is precise while her wrists remained steady.

Her blue eyes busy reading and watching everything she had encoded, checking if there's anything wrong.

After an hour, she finished the software program for her client. She sighed and got up from her swivel chair, started stretching and massaging her body, removing the tensed muscles caused by sitting in front of the computer for a whole day.

That's her everyday routine. Waking up every morning, facing her computers and laptop, doing legal and illegal jobs that her different clients had asked for, sleep and repeat.

When was the last time she went outside and have a nice walk in the park? It's been 1 or 2 years since she went outside. She never even dared to go near the door of her apartment except when the person delivering her daily needs like clothes, foods, and other daily necessities arrived.

Bang!

A loud sound outside the room made her jump out of her chair and immediately rush outside her room.

"Who's there?"

Her heart started pounding fast inside her chest everytime she takes a step.

How come she didn't know that someone got inside her apartment? The alarms should have ringed by now and captured the intruder! But after a few minutes, nothing happened.

"That's odd. I'm really sure somebody's here."

As she was walking back to room, she felt somebody else's presence behind her back. Her senses bacame alert and she grabs the broom near her on reflex.

"I know you're here! Show yourself!"

She turned around to see a man covered in black. She can't see his face clearly because of the mask he's wearing.

"Who are you?"

She didn't let her guard down even tho the man showed himself.

"You don't have to know."

In just a blink of an eye, the man is already holding both of her arms to keep her from restraining.

"With that beautiful face of yours, it's a shame you'll have to die at such a young age."

The deep and alluring voice of the man sounds so familiar to her but she can't remember whom it belongs too.

"Why are you doing this? Are you going to kill me?!" She panicked.

The man's husky laughter echoed in to her ear. His voice is really familiar.

"You guess, Pumpkin."

'Pumpkin'

It's like lightning struck her when she heard the word pumpkin. Only one person dares to call her in that endearment.

"Jace? Is that you?"

Jace is her best and only friend since high school. He's always there whenever she had a problem at home or at school. They're always at each other's back but everything changed when she had a boyfriend.

Jace became distant and cold towards her until he completely avoided her. She didn't know the reason why. She never even asked, she just thought that he was sick of being her friend anymore so she never dared to approach him.

When she broke up with her boyfriend, that's the last time she had seen Jace. She didn't know where he went and why he didn't tell her he's leaving. The only thing she knows, is Jace will return after 3 years.

But the man she knew changed after he came back. The way he speaks and act is very different from before but in her eyes, Jace is still the same loving friend she knew.

"Jace! Stop joking around! You're scaring the hell out of me. Why are you here?"

The man didn't answer her question. He kept silent after a few minutes. Then said,

"If only, you didn't interfere with other people's business on the underground community, you could have lived longer."

Confused, she asked the man.

"What are you talking about? Jace, stop fooling around okay? It's been so long since the last time we met, can you at least greet me properly?"

She felt something sharp at her neck while asking that. It was then when she realized that it was a small katana. Is this man really Jace? If it was him, he has gone too far this time.

"Goodbye Pumpkin."

She was about to fight back but it's already too late. The knife has already cut deeply on her heart causing the blood to gush out her soft and fair neck, making her spout a mouthful of blood.

"J-jace. H-ho-w c-could you..." The last thing she had uttered before slowly closing her eyes.

2 CODY RAZIEL LEE

At Cody's Room.

She slowly opened her eyes, feeling lightheaded after waking up from what almost felt like years. Her throat felt raspy as her eyes searched for a glass of water.

"Ugh!"

'What the hell happened?'

She continued to wander her eyes around the familiar room. Surely, this is the first time she's been here but the room felt so familiar.

'Where am I?'

She tried to stand up but her body felt heavy. It's like, a ton of heavy things is lying on top of her. She also felt a little weird. Didn't she had a deep wound on her neck? Then why can't she feel any pain? She doesn't even have any bruises on her body.

While she's still in a daze, the door suddenly opens. It almost made her jump out of the bed and throw the lamp at the door but she restrained herself.

She better not do anything unnecessary if she's on the enemy's territory.

"Cody? I heard what happened. Are you alright?"

A gorgeous man dressed in a black tuxedo walked inside the room. His looks are like that of a god came down from heaven. With a strong jawline and mesmerizing eyes, any girl who saw him will definitely drool. Not to mention his red kissable lips and pointed nose. But his looks had no effect on her.

"Hey, Cody. Are you done wool-gathering?"

He waved his hand in front of her. She looked at him weirdly. Why is this man calling her Cody?

"Why...am I...he..re?" She wanted to ask him some more questions but she can't because of the burning feeling in her throat.

The man noticed it and quickly left. When he came back, he has a glass of water in his hand and gave it to her. After drinking, she felt better. The burning feeling in her throat subdued.

"Did you forget? You were sent on a mission yesterday and got poisoned. Luckily, Amber was there and saved you."

A bunch of memories flashed in her mind. She can remember what Ash was telling her but it made her confused. Why can she remember the name of the man? Have they met before?

Didn't she die yesterday?

"C-can you g-give... me... a mirror?"

This time, Ash looked at her weirdly. Like she's an alien from outer space but he still obliged.

He handed her a mirror from the bedside table and she immediately accepted it.

From the first glace, she could tell that it's not her face anymore. Her blonde hair, brown eyes and her whole face was totally different!

"Hey! Are you okay?" Ash asked.

She nodded. But deep inside, she's really confused and rumbled out.

"Y-yeah... Can you please leave me alone for today? I want to rest first." She said.

Unsure, Ash gave her a quick look than did as she told him to. After he left she tried to stand up and check on herself.

From that moment, she knew one thing. She's reincarnated!

It's impossible if she had survived from being stabbed at the heart. And having memories of another person's life, being reincarnated is the only possible answer as to why she's in another body.

She stared at her reflection.

The woman in front of the mirror looks a lot different from her. From the black as ebony hair to the red soft thin lips. Everything is really different. She never knew such a person exists.

She slowly caresses her face. Such beauty can easily manipulate people. She wishes she could be this beauty in the past.

But now that she's the owner of the body, she doesn't know if she'll be happy or not.

The past owner had suffered and had been through a lot. She knew that because she has the past owner's memories.

When Cody was only 6 years old, her parents got murdered which leads her to be an orphan. And after a year, a couple adopted her, she thought that she won't be alone anymore but the couple sold her to an illegal institute where they train children to be assassins.

It's been hard for her to survive. But she's holding on to her only hope that she could get revenge for her parents when she gets older.

But after 10 years of training when she finally became one of the best assassins in their institute, an unexpected event occurred.

The institute was celebrating for the graduation of the assassins. Everyone was happily chatting and drinking because finally! They can live on their own and take real missions from the Mafia with profits.

But in the middle of the celebration, Cody was drunk and was feeling super hot.

It was too late when she realized she had been drugged by someone. It's all in a blur and she can't quite remember what the man looked like.

Everything happened in a blur. She just woke up the next morning, feeling an immense pain down there. And her head felt like being nailed a thousand times.

She's still recovering the past owner's memories so she can't remember the rest of what happened.

But the memories are enough for her to tell that Cody is a nice person in the past. Even though Cody had killed a lot of people, all of them did something extremely bad to others. Cody will never kill an innocent person.

Back to the present.

Her tears stream down her eyes without knowing the reason why. However, she immediately wiped it. Showing a sign of weakness won't do any good for her.

3 NEW LIFE

She had already decided to be Cody. Starting from today, she will take full responsibility for Cody's body and life and promised that she will take revenge on the people who had hurted her.

A knock on the door made her thoughts come to a halt. The man named Ash came back.

From Cody's memory, Ash is her best friend and one of the people who had shown care for her. He's always by her side whenever she needed him. But this time, Ash is not alone. In his arms is a little boy about 4 years old.

"Mom!"

The little boy strained on Ash's hold and swiftly made his way to her.

From Cody's memory, she immediately recognized the little boy who's clinging onto her.

At first, she was surprised. But then, immediately accepted the fact that she has a son.

The little boy was the aftermath of what happened to her after the celebration. She can't exactly remember what had happened before she woke up, with nothing else except for the blanket that's covering her nakedness. She can't even remember the face of the man who took her innocence 5 years ago.

All she could recall is that unique dragon tattoo on the right side of his waist.

"Mom. Are you okay?" The little boy's cute face was about to cry as he asks that. His blue watery eyes look like it's about to shed tears while his cute pointed nose became redder and redder every second.

Seeing this sight, her heart started to ache. Cody patted the little boy's back as she tries to comfort him.

"I'm okay, Dwayne." A smile appeared on her lips as she gently hugged the little boy.

"B-but Uncle Ash said t-that someone poisoned you." Dwayne started to cry. "I thought I would lose you."

A warm feeling seeped through her heart as she heard him say that. In her previous life, no one really cared for her safety. It's the first time someone had shown care for her.

"I'm okay, I won't leave you." She said, hugging the little boy tighter.

As the two of them embrace each other, Ash who's standing beside them felt a pang of pain in his heart.

He really envied the child's father, at the same time, he felt resented about how the guy treated Cody as a prostitute.

Using her for a night to relieve his concupiscence. Ash'll never forgive him if he'd known his identity. He will make him feel three times the pain Cody had felt for the past five years.

"Uncle Ash promised that after you wake up, the three of us will go to Paris! Isn't that right Uncle Ash?"

Dwayne's enthusiastic voice pulled Ash from his thoughts. He smiled.

"Of course! How could I forget my promise?"

Ash patted Dwayne's head. Not like earlier, he held a bright smile on his face.

"We'll go there next week."

"Uncle Ash, you're the best!" Dwayne happily exclaimed. He quickly jumped into Ash's arms, making the man's heart flutter. "Mom! Did you hear that?! Uncle Ash said that we'll go to Paris next week!"

"Uhuh." Cody nodded with a smile.

She felt really softhearted towards the little boy.

Dwayne is really enthusiastic and filled with energy which makes him a lot easier to get along with.

"Hey little buddy, it's getting late. You and your mum should rest now. Let's go, I'll take you to your room." Ash said while carrying Dwayne towards the door. But the little guy restrained, trying to get away from his firm hold.

"No! I'll stay with my mom! Uncle Ash, please let me stay with my mom?" Dwayne plead.

"Nope. Your mom needs to rest, no buts."

"Ash. Let him stay." Cody said.

"Yey!" The little guy jumped off from Ash's arms and quickly ran towards Cody's bed.

"Hey, buddy! Careful! You might hurt your mum!"

Afraid of what Ash has said, Dwayne obediently followed him. He gently laid down onto Cody's side.

"Mum. Let's sleep."

Dwayne gently tugged Cody's sleeves and wrapped his little arms around her waist.

"Okay, goodnight you two." Ash softly said before he got out of Cody's room.

"Goodnight." The mother and son replied.

After half an hour, Dwayne already fell asleep in Cody's arms. He looks so peaceful and angelic while sleeping. With his long and thick eyelashes down to his small pointed nose, to his soft natural red lips, he can be a beautiful boy.

"I guess this second life isn't that bad after all." A soft smile appeared on Cody's face before she fell asleep.
