I woke up with a terrible headache, with my mom continuously yelling that I'm going to be late for school. I finally managed to get out of bed only to find out that it was raining and I hated rainy day. I hurriedly prepared for school and even skipped breakfast only to arrive at the bus stop to see the bus leaving.

"Young girl, did you just miss your bus; said an old lady standing by me.

"Yes Grandma; I replied

"Here, why don't you pick a cap so that you won't be late for school.

"Thank you very much Grandma; I said knowing very well that I was already late for school. I picked a cap and headed straight for school but by the time I arrived lessons had already started and to welcome me at the front gate was Sir Fendrick.

"Good morning sir"; I greeted with a polite smile but as I thought he saw his way through the smile and started to scold me.

"This is the fourth time you've been late to school Missy; he said with raging anger.

"Yeah, sorry sir I had to take my little sister to school;, I said hoping he would buy my lie.

"For as far as I know, you're an only child; he exclaimed.

"Yeah....... right, sorry forgot, I had to help an old woman cross the street and on my way back I saw a kid who was about to get molded my a huge truck and I had to save him; I answered.

Sir Fendrick stood there for a while with a suspicious look on his face.

"Sir?, I'd please like to go inside, you know it's still raining; I exclaimed standing there holding my umbrella above my head.

"Yeah right, right but before you go, why don't you put down your name on this board, for after all you're now a hero and I'd like to get my autograph before it's too late you know.

I gladly toke the board hoping he bought my lie, only to find the word"DETENTION"written on it.

"Oh come on sir, you're really gonna gimme detention now!; I exclaimed

"And also put down your name so that I'll know the hero to call next time someone else needs saving; he said as I shot him a death glare without him knowing.

"Come on, make it snappy; he said as he clapped his hands twice.

"Yeah, yeah; I exclaimed as I wrote down my name and signature on the board, handed it over to him and went to class.

Hi guys, it's your author. This is the first chapter I've written so far I'll like to hear your reviews on my new novel. The purpose for this novel is that, I've seen soo many people facing difficulties in maths and still are. This makes them grow hatred for the subject. So my soul aim or purpose of writing this novel, is to educate, entertain, relax and to show people the wonderful side of mathematics and that it's a subject not to be hated but a subject that deserves much patience, attention and understanding when solving. I hope this can help encourage all those who have lost hope in mathematics, not to give up but to keep on pushing hard and there's also fun in solving mathematics when you give it a chance to know it better. My first class was history and it was Soo boring that everyone fell asleep throughout the whole period.

"Hey, hey wake up, wake up said Shashia as I woke up yawning like there's no tomorrow.

" Why did you wake me up, I was having such a good dream

"Yeah sorry to spoil your good dream but the bell just rang for the next class; said Shashia.

"Oh really and what difference does it make, after all, all the subjects have one thing in common; I said with a poker face on.

" And that is; Shashia asked with a face full of curiosity.

"Boring!! I exclaimed

"What? she asked

" Yes, they're all boring to the core.

"(sighs)" Lily, when will you grow up and stop mopping all the time; asked shashia

"Maybe never, by the way what subject do we have now; I asked shashia.

"Mathematics" Shashia said with a joyous look on her face

"(Groans harder)"you've got to be kidding me, why does life chooses to punish me this way.

Yep, that's me" Lily Ama Cruiz, Age : 16. In grade 9. School: Raising Dawn Academy. Lives with only my mom, Dad died when I was little,four years of age my mom told me. Likes: being lazy, Dislikes: School and everything work related. Best friend: Shashia Zu, Best food: Anything edible that tastes good, Hobby: Sleeping and lazing about.

"Girl, you've been mopping a lot lately, tell me why you hate mathematics so much. Yeah I know maths is somehow boring to most people but it's really luscious when you get to know it; she asked

"Mathematics?! luscious?! girl give me a break, you've got to be kidding. Those words don't even suit each other and it's not like I'm an illiterate or something but I just love being lazy; I said

"(sighs)Lily, you've got to start doing your things more planned out; exclaimed Shashia

"Naaa it's just too much work, I'm going to continue my sleep now, wake me up when it's lunch time; I said.

Sir Fendrick entered the room and everyone stood up to greet him except for me who was fast asleep, he noticed me and flenched a little bit but then chose to ignore. Half way during his lesson, I suddenly began snoring he chose to tolerate it by raising his voice higher with time I stopped, but the moment he lowed he voice I suddenly began snoring louder than before, he could not tolerate it any longer.

" LILY CRUIZ!!!" said Sir Fendrick furiously.

I suddenly woke up yelling the word "poop" immediately the whole class burst into laughter, I did not know what was as I was still in a daze. All I could see was Sir Fendrick's furious face and I class full of laughter.

I suddenly woke up and yelled the word" poop" immediately, the whole class burst into laughter and I didn't know what was going on either.

"Young girl, I won't tolerate your behavior any longer. Go.......; he was about to say as I interrupted him.

"Stand outside!, yeah yeah I got the phrase; I exclaimed.

"And think...... he was about say as I cut him short again.

"About what I've done, yeah I'm already catching on with that; I exclaimed as I stood up mumbling whiles I exited the class.

"😔 God, when will this girl know that there's something more to life than just being lazy; he said as he went on with his lesson.

I stood in the hallway, as it started raining heavily, the atmosphere became really cold❄️ and I was shivering🥶, I couldn't take the cold weather anymore for I feared that I might catch a cold 🤧. I was about to go in to admit my defeat and render my apology when something cought my eye. It was a young girl looking really emaciated,in white clothing and had a cryptic look on her face, I watched as she mooched around as if she was oblige to do so. I didn't know whether she could see me or maybe she was ignoring me. She headed for the washroom on left side which sent a chill down my spine. For someone I knew she could have screamed her head of her body if it wasn't attached, the bathroom on the left side was a forbidden area☠️ to all students in the school, legend has it that it's haunted👻 but I didn't care about such silly stories and was also too lazy to be sacred. I headed towards the washroom on the left and the moment I was about to open the door.....

"Lily! said Shashia in a deep dark scary tone as she slowly placed her hand on my shoulder in a spooky and scary sort of way.

* What the ***** darn, oh it's just you shash, you scared me. Wow I actually got scared for the first time ever so this is how it feels to actually get scared, hmm I hate it this feeling because it's energy exhausting and also I'm just too lazy.

"Are you done?" ; said Shashia with an uninterested look on her face.

"Yeah, sorry about that😅 you were saying; I asked.

" Yeah about that why did you say I scared you?; asked shashia.

"Yeah I actually saw a weird looking kid dressed in white just mooching around the hallway.

"Really 😲,asked shashia as her face began to look pale.

"Yes, she actually went inside there; as I pointed towards the washroom we were standing in front of. Come on, let's go and check it out!; I exclaimed as I held Shashia hand but she immediately pulled her hand away.

"Are you crazy!!!!; she said as I could see her soul slowly began leaving her body 😱
