it was a year before slavery was abolished and before people of color had rights my mama was given the name Lonny and was a very hard working woman my father worked harder and people of color are allowed to have rights but we get paid less then white people we don't some colored people got lucky then others they got to marry a rich white man or woman then forgot all about where they came from after a while they became spoiled black men and women but they know they all never be excepted in the white community colored people are always treated with less respect and don't get the happiness they deserve but not everyone is good not everyone is bad we're just people or not everybody understands that...

people of color aren't aloud to know certain things like know how to read and stuff like that but since slavery had been abolished we can read and everything me and grandpa live in New York City we sell newspapers for our living we don't get paid that much but you know Grandpa is really nice but whenever it has something to do with someone White grandpa automatically gets either upset or he tells me to go inside he doesn't want people who are not of color to hang around me i never know why Grandpa calls them racist but I really think their skin is very beautiful never really seen anything so white before kind of like paper I wonder if they taste like vanilla would they wonder if I taste like chocolate this nice white lady I get to see whenever I go outside she's a florist she said when I get too good age I can work with her or for her I can clean up and I can get some flowers for Grandma she died a last year my parents became very rich but that's only because they had to make a deal with someone after the deal my parents got in a bad accident grandpa said that that's a lie they took off and left me behind then when they got found they both got shot because the person they owed money to they didn't pay I'm okay living with Grandpa I do miss grandma though

Amy: your all dirty...how about you go upstairs and I'll draw you a bath and give you some nice clothes so you can start working

ying: your parents and my parents work together and you and I were supposed to be married when we both turn 17 when we where one I fell in love with you right then and there I didn't really know what I was feeling but I did know I wanted to protect you we kind of grew up together when we were three well when we were three I made a promise to marry you and you accepted it but your parents and my parents got in a fight and your parents had a bunch of debt with my parents my parents wanted your parents dead so they told me that once I find you I can marry you or do whatever I want with you your parents sold you to my parents to pay off their debt my parents still killed them in the end though it was hard not seeing you all these years but finally you're mine and no one can take you away from me not even your grandpa with that ugly fat woman who owns that ugly flower shop
