It was a calm winter night...

The occasional barking of faraway dogs was breaking the silence of the night...

A girl came out to take a walk. She was unfamiliar with the surrounding area. Knowing martial arts, coupled with a Swiss knife in her pocket, she decided to choose a quiet road. Although it was cold outside, her white-colored hood was enough to keep her warm.

She was walking quietly until she heard the sound of footsteps...

She looked everywhere but found nothing. "I am 100% sure that there is someone," she whispered. Even if it was a faint sound, she heard it.

While passing by a construction site, she once again heard that sound. This time it was a sound as if someone was carefully taking steps, like those ninja fighters in the action movies.

To save herself from the intruder, she went inside the building to hide. Her white hoodie was shining because of moonlight, which was disadvantageous in that situation. Thus, taking benefit of her short height, she hid behind a big wooden plank.

Once again there was the sound of footsteps but now it was not of one person, but of a group. She guessed that these people must be here to find the previous person.

Unfortunately, that person was caught by that gang and soon a fight started between a group and one person. The person was holding a gun and that group was holding some weapons like knives and rods. He was avoiding the use of the gun, as if it will not be necessary to win this fight.

She peeped out again and saw a shocking scene! A tall man, who was likely holding the gun was standing straight, pressing his foot on one of the gangster's hand who was lying on the ground. That tall man was wearing a silver mask. Even if having a tall physique, he was a bit thin. His deathly cold eyes and aura were enough to scare the opponent to their wits.

He stared at them and smirked, "Still want to fight?". A person of that gang, who must be the leader said, "Child, don't mess with us. I promise if you cooperate, I will leave you. Don't you want to prepare for your entrance exam?"

What? Entrance exam?

That masked man is a high school student?

Oh my goodness! How can a senior high school student have such aura!

"None of your business," the tall man replied as if the gang leader was like a

small bug for him. The gang leader smirked and soon the fight started, this time all the gang members attacked him.

To their dismay, he successfully knocked out those remaining four people.

He looked at the people on the ground and smirked, "Useless creatures" and looked at the dark passage which was probably the secret exit in that place.

While leaving, he stopped abruptly within few steps.

The girl held her breath, afraid of getting discovered, but the scene was different.

He stopped and was about to fall, but held the pillar and sat down. He held his leg tightly. Blood was oozing out from the wound as the cloth which was tied to cover the wound loosened.

Something inside the girl was telling her to help him. Without further ado, she came out to help him.

He was startled by a girl's sudden appearance, who was wearing a white hoodie looking like a white soft toy. She was short, her shoulder-length brown hair, milky white skin, and spectacle on her nose were the perfect match for the look. He was looking at her as if she caught him red-handed.

She squatted down and gave him her handkerchief hesitantly, "Here, take this and tie. Also..." The girl stopped and pondered if it is appropriate to tell him or not, "D-Don't go to th-that side. There is a black car hidden behind the parking area. It may be dangerous."

He was still looking at her without blinking. For some reason, she found him handsome and a bit familiar although he was wearing a mask.

When she was about to leave that place, he quickly said, "Thank you".

Boom!

Those words were enough to make her blush. She ran from that place with light footsteps, without looking back.

After coming out from that place, she went further to check about that car. It was still there and there were people still inside the car. She was about to return and tell him about that car and also to look if he is ok or not, suddenly a boy caught her, "What are you doing here?"

"Brother Lufan!" the girl exclaimed.

The boy was tall, had a thin physique and sharp eyes. He held her hand and they both came out of that building, without being noticed. They saw that people in the black car came out and rushed inside the building. The boy named Brother Lufan stopped as if contemplating whether to go inside or not.

She asked, "What happened brother Lufan? And why are you limping? Are you hurt somewhere?". He was startled and said, "Nothing, I just fell because of darkness while coming here. Let's go

home. Your parents are waiting for you." He smiled at her and they both went home.

Even if he smiled at her, she noticed that something was bothering him. There was sadness, fear, and uncertainty in his eyes.

She was thinking about these incidents and suddenly a man came in front of them. He was 6' ft tall, had an aura of a leader, and his face was hidden behind the tall upward collars of his overcoat...

"And rest we will continue in the next lecture, that's it for today"

Huh?????

"And rest we will continue in the next lecture, that's it for today." by saying this the professor ended the last lecture of that day. Adjusting her glasses with her finger, Su Yeon woke up from her dream. It was not a dream but a memory of some years ago.

"I truly envy people like you who shamelessly sleep during lecture and still score O grade(1)!" with a thud, Min Seong, Su Yeon's deskmate and best friend in university, started keeping books in her bag. Kim Min Seong is a 5'6 ft tall, smart, confident, and well-behaved person. Her long, jet-black hair and honey-colored skin compliment her personality.

Yan Su laughed at both of them. Oh Yan Su has the same height as Min Seong, delicate snow-white skin. She is also a ballet dancer. The trio studies in the same class of the senior year, majoring in business and finance at Imperial Business University.

And lastly our little dwarf Yoon Su Yeon. She is Simple because she hates complicated things, is lazy and introverted but a fun-loving girl, a bit nerdy but likes to sleep in the lecture. In short, at least she thinks that she is simple but almost everyone thinks that she is complicated.

Su Yeon started thinking about that dream. Why this long-forgotten memory suddenly popped up now? She has already forgotten that day and that mysterious silver masked man. Why now?

The three of them went to a nearby cafe to have brunch. Su Yeon went near the counter to order. "Hey!" A boy who has the same height as Su Yeon came to her. He was one of their classmates.

He collected his drink and went to her saying "I need your guidance." Because he was rushing to her, he stumbled and was about to drop his drink.

Su Yeon caught both drink and him and said "Hey hey, be careful. How can you hold your glass so loosely, I wonder how firmly you hold your..." She paused.

The customers in front and back of her also paused.

Customer 1: Jesus!...

The person who was standing behind her also paused and smirked.

"Cash or card?"

Customer 1 who was standing before Su Yeon came out of thought and gave cash to the counter.

Su Yeon continued, "... I wonder how firmly you hold your brush while doing calligraphy. See that's why you face problems in it."

She once again looked here and there to find that person. She stopped a moment ago because she felt a certain someone's presence familiar. She thought that she knows that person but don't know who it is!

She saw that the person in front of her looks a bit familiar. That tall, well-built back of that man felt familiar. The white coat in his hand and the faint smell of anesthetic were indicating that he is from the medical field, like someone she knows. Maybe he is familiar or maybe she is perverted??

Su Yeon happily talked with her friend, gave the order and then went to her table. "Su Yeon ah, now everything depends upon you. We did our best in theoretical aspects. Now you have to present our business model in your way," Min Seong said. Su Yeon opened her laptop and checked the email of the presentation Min Seong sent just now.

Looking at Su Yeon's smirk, Min Seong realized that something weird has started cooking inside her mind, so she declared, "Su Yeon ah, for god's sake, please keep the presentation simple and perfect. If you want, we will give witty answers at the critics round!" Min Seong sighed and laughed when Su Yeon gave a cheeky smile.

This is how things work between them. Yan Su and Min Seong look after theoretical matters like writing theory, lecture notes, etc. while Su Yeon does calculations, doubt solving, and presentation work. The trio happily chatted and went in their ways.

On the other hand, the young man who was standing before her was trying his best not to look back. He went towards his table and started talking with the person sitting in front of him. He realized that from this angle, the girl could easily see him so he said, "Professor, if you don't mind, can you please exchange seats with me? Ahh... actually I can't resist the direct flow of the air conditioner," while pointing towards the air conditioner. The man who was sitting with him nodded with a confused face and exchanged the seats with him.

When he sat, he realized something and thought, 'Did he exchanged seats because of that girl... probably not,' because of this, he got sad and continued, 'Yes right, they don't even know each other... The rest of the day Su Yeon spent in the library to modify their business model and research about other aspects relating to it. It will somehow help while criticism round. Wrapping everything up, she went home at night before dinner.

"Welcome back sweetheart, go fresh up quickly and come for dinner" a mellow voice welcomed her which has always been stress relieving for her, her mother's voice. Qin Su Ryeon, a bit taller than Su Yeon, is a sweet housewife.

Su Yeon's father Yoon Taek is a senior-level employee in a company. In short, Su Yeon's family is a simple and typical upper-middle-class family.

As usual, Su Yeon keeps talking and they both listen to her. This is an unspoken rule of her family set by her. She will share everything that happened that day including her study and progress. Her parents like to listen to her very much because they both didn't spend their college days like this. After dinner, Su Yeon washed the dishes and went to her room.

While sleeping on the bed and looking outside the window, she thought about those unexpected two things that happened today. Firstly, about that dream, which was originally a memory about that day which she nearly forgot, and then about that person who was standing in front of her. For some reason, she thought that these two things have one thing in common... or rather one person!

Su Yeon went with her parents, to her father's childhood friend's house in city K. The Wang family had a political background, so they were rich and had a huge mansion in city K.

The Wang couple had a son, Wang Lufan, who was 4 years older than Su Yeon. Wang Lufan had a tall and thin physique, sharp eyes, and a warm aura. He was an introverted person. He had very good academics and wanted to become a doctor.

When the Yoon family went to Wangs' Mansion, the Wang parents welcomed them and introduced themselves. Wang Lufan's first impression was enough to make Su Yeon blush. "Hello, I am Wang Lufan." He bowed to Yoon parents and smiled at Su Yeon. "Hi, my name is Yoon Su Yeon." She bowed to Wang parents but couldn't look at Lufan. She nodded to Lufan and shook hands with him.

After both the childhood friends were done catching up, everyone came for the lunch. Mrs. Wang had created a small feast for Yoon family.

When the lunch was done, Mr. Wang said, "Lufan, you should take Su Yeon with you, you kids go outside else you will get bore between us. Taek, Mrs. Yoon, you won't mind if Lufan shows her around, right?" Yoon parents gave permission and then Lufan took her outside.

Su Yeon followed Lufan obediently. She got amazed while looking at the big garden in front of the mansion. Lufan looked at the little girl beside him, "You liked it?" Su Yeon looked at him and replied, "Yes! It is so huge! Ohh... you have that swing too! You are so lucky, you can even study while sitting there since it is very calm here." Lufan was amused and said, "Yes, indeed. I kept it there so that I can read without any disturbance."

Su Yeon contemplated, but then she asked, "Umm... brother Lufan, can I see your study room?" Lufan got confused and agreed, "Sure," Su Yeon beamed in happiness, "Woah! Thank you."

There was a staircase attached directly from outside to Lufan's room. They went inside, "You are free to look around, just be careful." Su Yeon nodded and went towards the huge bookshelf stuffed with medical books. She liked the mini library.

Lufan got shocked when he saw that this little one was not even bothered about the luxurious mansion. Instead, she was beaming when she saw his swing and mini library. Usually, other girls would like to try swinging, but this little one said it is a perfect place for reading! Lufan showed her many kinds of books and they talked on various topics. He later excused himself, "Su Yeon ah, I have to go to the library, can you stay here alone or do you want to join others?"

Su Yeon was afraid of getting lost in this mansion so she quickly said, "No, I can't... I mean, I will join elders." Lufan chuckled and they went downstairs.

"Mom, I have to go to the library, can I?" Lufan asked his mother. "Oh sure, will you come home for dinner?" Mrs. Wang asked. "Not sure, I will inform you later," by saying this, Lufan went to his room.

While elders were chatting happily, Father Yoon said, "Bojin, Lufan is a very sensible kid. I thought he will take over your position. But it is good that he wants to pursue medical. We also wanted our Su Yeon to become a doctor, but this kid! She rejected that idea on our face!" Su Yeon said, "I don't think it will be a blessing for society to have a doctor like me. Everyone started laughing and then Mr. Wang replied, "It's ok Taek, don't force her. Let her choose her career. Our Su Yeon is smart, she knows what to do. During this short period of time, the Wang couple grew fond of Su Yeon because of her friendly but behaved nature, especially Mrs. Wang.

When Su Yeon asked for permission to go out, Mrs. Wang smiled and said, "You and your cute tricks! How can I reject it!" Mr. Wang agreed and said, "You are right. She must be bored between us, even Lufan is not here. Su Yeon ah, you can go out, but don't go far away."

Yoon parents were helpless in front of Wang parents, it's just have been some time and Wang couple was spoiling her already.

Lufan quickly pushed Su Yeon behind him and held her hand tightly. That drunkard man's face was hidden behind the tall and upward collar of his overcoat but his eyes were visible. When they both looked at that man, his eyes were softened and instinctively they both held their guard down. Somehow they felt secure but his eyes became cold suddenly and they both held their guard up.

He was looking back and forth between the two of them and that construction site. He said loudly, "You can't run away from the situation! You are fated to be together! Hahahaha! You can't avoid it, it is going to happen!"

They both ignored him and started walking but Su Yeon heard what he said next. He said incoherently to himself, "...and I will make sure that it will happen! Even if it costs my life! I have to do it! I have to do it!"

During the whole time, they both were busy with their own thoughts. When they both came to the premises of the mansion, Lufan asked, "Umm... Can you forget... No nothing. Are you hurt somewhere?".

She knew what he wanted to talk about so she replied, "I am fine, don't worry, I won't mention anything that happened today."

He hurriedly said, "No it's not what you think. I mean yes please don't mention it but it is for your safety. They all will get panic and it will create misunderstanding. It's better if you forget it completely... so it will not lead to something else." They went in and everything became normal.

The rest of the time, she wanted to confirm the wound on Lufan's leg. If there was her handkerchief, then the silver masked man must be him.

As said by that gangster, that masked man was a high school student, preparing for the entrance exam. Coincidently Brother Fan was also a senior high school student preparing for the entrance exam of medical university.

There is another thing! That drunkard's words. What he said loudly may be considered nonsense but what he whispered to himself was something different. She forced herself to forget it that time because she was young and didn't know the seriousness of it.

After that incident, she heard that Brother Lufan scored the top grade in the entrance exam and went abroad to study medicine. Wang family was busy because of politics and elections. She couldn't contact him those years.

Today when she saw the man in front of her, she felt that it was Brother Lufan. Before calling him, she wanted to confirm so she observed him quietly. He was sitting with a man, probably one of his patients, his back was facing her.
