Huff !! Finally!! She said releasing a big sigh after sorting out her last luggage. "Why do we have to shift so much ?" she pout angrily and laid on her new bed, and without knowing fell asleep, since she was already tired of the journey. It was evening when her mother called her. Lazily she got up and went down the stairs. She knew what her mother was going to say, so she did not let her speak and said, "I'll leave for the visit in a few minutes" her mother just smiled and nodded. This is a very common thing to her as her mother always insisted her to have a walk around and visit the new neighborhood of the place whenever they shifted somewhere. It was spring time, so cherry blossom were there on trees and a light breeze was blowing. She was looking around the place and noting the roads and alleys to remember while traveling. It was quite sometime now that she was walking and now she felt thirsty, so she stopped by a department store and went to buy some drinks. She had just bought her milkshake and opened it, when someone bumped into her, causing a little bit of the milkshake spill on her favourite shoes. She widened her eyes ready to say something, she looked up at the person who caused such a disaster and saw a young boy moreover of the same age as he looked at her and just said a simple "sorry", bought his banana milk and walked away leaving her totally infuriated in a messy state...

After cleaning the mess on her shoes, she started walking home straight and went to her room and sat on her bed. Her head was hot, and really she was feeling very hot  die to the unwanted exercise, so she went to open the one and only window of her room beside the study table. As soon as she opened the window the sight made her both shocked and angry. She saw the same boy from the department store, sitting on his bed and playing on his phone.

With the sound of the panes he looked up but she hod behind the curtains, when he saw nothing in front he continued to play. After sometime he got up, kept the phone on the study table and went to the washroom. Seeing such an opportunity, she thought of an idea to take revenge on him. She brought a long wooden stick from somewhere, put double-sided cellotape on one end of the stick and held the other end and slowly and carefully passed the stick to his room stuck the phone to the stick and pulled it back. Now His phone was with her. As expected, he came to his room and could not find his phone. She, after watching him for sometime came out and showed him his phone. "You...you are the same girl from the department store right, who bumped into me today ??" he asked. "Umm... correction, YOU bumped into me and spilled the milkshake on my FAVOURITE SHOES, so if you want your phone back then apologize toe nicely, a simple sorry won't work". At first he did not agree but then he had no choice so he apologized band she gave it back. Then he asked, "I have never seen you before, are you new here ?". She then narrated her story that her father's job makes them shift so much, that she is her new neighbour from now on. After they had chit chatted and were getting along well with each other when they realised that, "Oh I forgot to introduce myself, I'm Lee Junghoon", "Oh! and I'm Cicilia Xavier". Then Junghoon said," It's getting late now I have wake up early tomorrow. Well then Cic-Cici-Cili, uh! I can't pronounce your name," he pout cutely "uh can I call you Lia ? That I can pronounce... hehehe" , " It's okay you can call me Lia" and she smiled sweetly. " Bye... Good Night" they said to each other before closing the window.

Next day, "A new college again.Huff " she said and entered the principal's office. " Oh- Cicilia ? Cicilia Xavier ?? Am I right ? the principal asked, "Yes sir"  she said and bowed. "So you are the new student, I see. Well then these are your details. I hope you would not have much trouble to find your class". "No sir, it's alright" she smiled and left the cabin. "I did not find it difficult to find my classroom. The teacher saw me and said,"Are you the new student??","Yes sir" she said, "then come when I call you" she nodded. After sometime, she was called and she entered. "Please introduce yourself" the teacher said and she began, "Hello everyone, My name is Cicilia Xavier. I am new here and I want to make new friends, hope you all will take care of me" she smiled to everyone. The teacher spoke, "There's an empty seat beside him, go sit there. Lee Junghoon raise your hand." She saw the empty seat and the person who raised his hand and both of them smiled at each other. The class began. At lunch time,"We meet again" he said showing his bunny smile. She replied with a nod. "So you are my new neighbour and my new seatmate...then let's have lunch together" he said and dragged her to the cafeteria. Then sat at a table munching their foods, when he asked, "So your hobby is basketball right ?" She almost choked on her food and asked, "How'd you know that ?"." You pabo, you have certificates and trophies of basketball in your room, I saw through the window. You must be very good at it". Then she narrated, how she started playing basketball, years passed by and every school she has been to till now, she played in that school's basketball teams and was quite good at it. "Quite good ? You seem to be a very good player, as I can infer from the number of trophies  I had seen", he said. Well I don't really know, I haven't played for a while", she said with an unsure look. "Will you play in our college, if you get a chance ??" he asked with shining eyes. "Maybe" , she replied shortly. Then there was a silence for sometime untill Junghoon decided to break it and asked,"Lia I had seen so many group photos of you in your room, were they your friends ?? Do you still have contact with them ??" Lia's expression turned into a sad one. "Well if you don't want to sahre it's okay, I won't force you" he asked concerned. There was silence. He asked again worried, "Are you ok-" she cut him off and said, "My dad used to transfer a lot, so I never had a long friendship, most of them I have lost contact, I barely remember everyone", she said and gave a sad smile. "It's alright" he said patting her back to calm her down. "Umm...Lia, it's almost time for our next class, let's go", he said with a joyful smile to cheer her up and change the topic. "Yeah let's go", she said and smiled genuinely. He sighed in relief seeing her better.

After the school got over, they went back home together.

In the evening, both of them opened their windows at different times but for the same reason, they wanted to talk to each other. Both of them sat in the study table and started doing their homeworks and other assignments. "Hey Hoon-ah can you explain the fifth sum of the home assignment sir gave us today ? I can't understand" she said. Pass your notebook, let me look at it once" he said. She passed the notebook through the window. They both came near the window and he started explaining it to her. "Oh so it was like this and I'm trying it from the past ten minutes, seriously" she said and pout. "You're cute" he said and chuckled at her behaviour. "Yah yah I know" she said and went back to her seat. They were peacefully doing their work when Hoon said, "Lia, about earlier I thought that, it is s sad that you lost contact with your other friends, but can't we make our friendship a long one ?", " I don't know we transfer a lot" she said casually."Umm okay but promise me that even if you shift somewhere far, you will not forget me, and we would also keep contact, what do you say. Oh ! and give me your number before I forget" he said taking out his phone."Okiee!" she said and smiled widely. "Now I'm saying the number","hmm say","So it's 7124-...","okay saved". "Umm Lia since we will will have a long friendship let's give it a name", " Sounds good" she said. They started suggesting names, this and that. "Hey Hoon-ah I have an idea, since we became friends wile talking through the window, let's call it The Window Buddies, it's cool right, what do say ?", " Wah that's really cool, okay then, I'll save your number as Window Buddie Lia", " Then I'll save it as Window Buddie Hoon". "So now we are Window Buddies" they said in unison and smiled widely.

3 months later...

In these three months their friendship grew really strong. Lia was happy that she could find such an incredible friend like Junghoon, who always made her smile and never left her side. The feeling of not having a friend is no more in her. As for Junghoon, he really treasures Lia and loves to spend time with her. Both were happy with each other's company and had become inseperable friends. Their friendship had become quite popular in school by now. Almost everyone in school knew that not a single day could pass without them fighting on silly matters like cats and dogs and it became quite entertaining for others to watch it, but still they were the best of friends. Junghoon had introduced her to his gang of friends Taeyeon, and Yeojun, also she had made new friends like Jieun, Soo-ah, Soojin and Areum. It had been a routine for their team fights and Junghoon would voluntarily surrender because he never had an urge to win against Lia.

The last semester was coming to an end, and now both Lia and Junghoon were a part of their school's girls and boys basketball teams which had upcoming tournaments very soon. Lia and the girls would be competing with the girls of other teams of other schools, and same with Junghoon. They were practising hard learning strategies and seeing the matches of other teams of previous years. They were quite nervous for this was a tournament with heavy teams. They supported each other in this time. As the tournament was coming closer the tension was increasing, not only for the team members but also for the whole school, who were looking forward to it eagerly.

It was the first day on the tournament and the selection around. The teams which qualifies today would proceed to the next round while the rest would have their journey end here. The host started announcing the names of the teams and each of them were entering one by one wearing their school uniform and carrying their school flags. The boys and girls team of every school came side by side and took their positions . Lia, who had not been able to play in the last few years and not used to this environment was getting more and more uncomfortable by all the dazzling bright lights and the audience and mostly the attention of all the people around. Seeing her getting pale, Junghoon understood that she was not feeling well and mouthed "Its alright, come down" from a distance and showed his bunny smile to her reassuringly that it was alright. Getting the encouragement and seeing his smile Lia felt confident again and regained her strength. Both of them had matches back to back but not at the same time. It was Junghoon's team to go up first and Lia sat in the bleachers to see him play. The match started, the ball dribbling, boys passing the ball while Junghoon's eyes kept searching for Lia in the bleachers. Once he had spotted her, he flashed a smile at her which she replied instantly. As if getting a double boost-up he played more confidently.

Junghoon's team won this match and were going back to change when he again looked at her and smiled for the last time before going down. After seeing the match Lia happily went to change because next step was her team against the Flutter High Girls. Meanwhile, Junghoon was dressing up hurriedly as he did not want to miss her match.

The match started and it was going going well but in a few minutes the match was turned. It was 12 against 20 and Blue Bell Highs were trying their best score but efforts with no use. Just few minutes were left and almost everybody had thought that Blue Bell Highs had no hope. Lia almost gave up when she hard screams it was not screams but cheers. It was none other than Junghoon her window buddy. Now Lia began to have an urge to win, and urge to keep the faith Junghoon has on her. "I'll win, I have to win!! for Junghoon and for my school" she said to herself and spared one last glance at Junghoon and started playing with her full energy. She was now playing aggressively signalling her team to get the positions and within no time she had flipped the score.

Now it was 22 against 20. Thirty seconds more to end the match and with the last basket she did with which the score became 24 to 20 ; the announcer said loudly, "The winner is the Blue Bell Highs!!". The ground started hearing for Lia and the team. the others carrier on their shoulders and as soon as she was put down she ran and hugged Junghoon. He too hugged her without wasting time. "You did great" he said still hugging her. She pulled back and looked at him with a smile and said," Thanks to you". The Selection Round ended with both the teams of Blue Bell Highs to qualify for the next round.
