There was a loud scream coming from the king palace it was the voice of the King's wife.

She is the one and only wife of the king Arthur.

I am sitting at the garden of the orphanage when I heard the wailing of the queen Beth, the orphanage was just 12 to 15 feet distance away from the castle.

I immediately ran towards the castle with a group of women trailing behind me chattering.

I arrive at the castle only to find the queen on the floor wailing besides her was a woman holding her. I strode over to a guard who was a very friendly woman she looks hot but not as beautiful as the princess.

Talking of the princess I came to a halt and turn around my eyes scanning the whole place filled with a lot of people.

I couldn't find her so I continue on my quest to know why the queen will be crying.

' someone is probably dead and who could that be, ' I froze from the thought.

' oh God let it not be the princess ' I thought, even though I don't have a chance with her just seeing her alone is enough to make my day.

' stop assuming you idiot' my subconscious mind judges me.

I turned and walk over to the beautiful blonde guard.

She looks adorable in her all black attire, if I wasn't so obsessed with the princess I do go for immediately.

I am eighteen years old and I am working at the orphanage because nobody agree to adopt me.

The princess will be so broken if she finds out that her father is dead. I pity her I wish I could go and console her but before I will get to her I will be a dead meat.

Peasants like me are not allowed to go anywhere near the princess only the nobles can, that is why I said I don't have a chance with her.

I stood on my toes among the crowd looking at the entrance of the castle for the princess to come out.

As I waited I couldn't help but listen to a woman that is wailing beside me.

" How can he be dead when his wife have not given him a son, why." The 1st woman said.

" At least he had a daughter," 2nd woman said.

"Don't tell me that you are suggesting that a woman should rule over us.?" The 1st woman said in an angry voice.

" No that's not what I am talking about, it seems that you don't know a lot about our tradition,"

" The brawl?" She asked.

" Yes of course who and who are going to compete, the last time they did that almost all the able bodied young men in the village died,"

" Let's just watch and see what is going to happen."

At this juncture I decided to join in their conversation.

" Ma'am please can you tell me more about the brawl?" I asked.

" Are you sure you are in this village?" The second woman scoffed.

" Brenda don't be rude to this handsome stranger even though he looks poor and wretched." That got to me but I am used to it.

" Pot calling kettle black" Brenda said making me laugh.

" What is so funny,"

" Hmm... I am so sorry," I said.

" The brawl is something like a tournament, but people die a lot during this tournament." Brenda said.

" The first day, people as many as possible will apply to participate in the tournament, after their application they'll be divide into 28 groups, in every group only one person will have to survive. After the survivor of every group have gathered there will be only 28 people remaining."

" And the 28 people will be accepted into the 7Days tournament, the dead ones will be burn to ashes," Brenda quiped in dramatically.

" out of the 28 people only one person will survive and the survivor is the winner, Brenda you know that tournament will have been a very entertaining tournament if only there are not so many Dead," she said turning to the other woman who I now assume is her wife.

" Thanks for the update" I turned around and began to walk back to the orphanage.

But I stopped in my track when I heard the voice of Luca the King's second in command.

" Gather around I have got a very disturbing news to give, if you know the kind of person that I am, you will know that I am not the type Of person that carried bad news around but I have to say this: The King is dead,"

' is this man crazy, we have heard that before" I thought, if he does not have any good news he should better go and sit down.

" So according to our tradition, " he paused, we'll have a seven days tournament in which the only person that survive Will be crown king and also he/ she will marry the princess. Every body is acceptable for the tournament. No exceptions." He paused probably to know if we are following. " The tournament Will start thirty days after the king is buried to give you time to get ready for the big day. if you want to join in the amazing tournament, application starts from now till the next week, great people of Nile, I greet you." He concluded.

" We greet you too, " the crowd cheered. Especially the men who seems to be interested in the competition.

I would have loved to join, had it been I can fight but I can't. But wait I can still try and learn how to fight right.

I pushed through the crowd in a bid to get out of the noisy crowd and go home.

" Hey, are you going to participate in the tournament? " I turn around at the sound of the voice, the person is so close to me so I assumed that he is talking to me.

" Are you talking to me? " I asked gesticulating.

" Yeah by the way, I am Chen from the refugee camp," he said his eyes twinkling in excitement.

" I am Neal but I'd appreciate if you will call me N I don't like that name." I joked scanning his eyes to know if my joke had any effect on him but, all I could see in his pale blue eyes were amusement.

" Right," he said obviously not interested in what I like to be called. " Are you participating in the tournament? " He asked.

" Yeah but... I don't know how to fight though  I am kind of looking for someone that can teach me how to fight." I said " do you know anyone that can teach me?" I asked looking expectantly at him.

" I can teach you if you want, that is only if you will allow me to," Chen suggested.

"  Can you fight?" I asked unbelievably.

" Well I am a kungfu master, I know you might be thinking ' why  is a kungfu master running away from his home' a kungfu master is not a god no matter how strong you are someone or something is stronger than you," he said the smile on his face vanishing and turning into a bitter smile.

" What is the price cause I know someone cannot fucking train someone for Free?"

" Well... Well if you win and become the king I will tell you about it," he said hesitantly.

" Tell me now, let me know if it's something I can do for you," I persuaded.

" Don't worry it's not something that you cannot do, not like there's something you cannot do when you are a King," he exaggerated.

" Stop being cocky and tell me what you want or else I will not agree,"

" I like you," he said " you look like the type that keeps promises, now promise me that you will not disclose this thing that I am going to tell you now to anybody," he said.

This is interesting he trust me already, interesting.

" I promise," I said with sincerity.

" I am planning on going back to my town in Japan to claim my kingdom back... " He was saying before I cut him short on his word.

" How am I connected to your fucking plan," I mean it's not like I am from Japan anyway.

" See when you become the king you will have the power to control this kingdom so all I am asking is that I help you get the crown after that you will give me 2000 warriors." He said unfazed by my outburst.

" That is impossible 2000 men, that is like almost half of our warriors." I can't do that.

" How about 1000?" He said like he is counting money.

" I don't even know if I am going to win why will you believe that I will have the throne." I said dejectedly.

" Hey, I believe in you and I believe in my ability, all you have to do is to believe in yourself." He said.

" Ok let's try this," I have got nothing to lose anyway if I win I will give him the men if I lose that means I am dead so there is nothing to lose.

" Deal right?" He said stretching out his hand.

" Deal."

" Let's go then? "

"Where to?" I asked

" To my training ground, your training starts today, you don't have a lot of time to train!" He said sternly.

" Nah I am too tired to do anything today. I will just go home and go straight to bed,"

" You are the lazy type aren't you ?" He asked looking me up and down, it's either you follow me down to the training ground or I will call my men to come and beat you up!"

Is he fucking kidding me? If that's the case I will have to decline that offer.

" Is it by force to train? "

" Yeah " he responded.

" That means I'm not doing again!" I said turning around and begin to walk away.

" I'm sorry but people don't back out of a deal With me," he says and before I could reply a hard punch landed on my face before everything went blank.

A very cold liquid ran through my whole body making me snapped my eyes open immediately.

I was in a very large field I look around and my eyes landed on Chen.

" Chen why did you bring me here?"

" From now on you must address me as master Chen do you understand?" He asked staring into my eyes dangerously I remove my eyes from his dangerous ones. looking everywhere but him. " What do you say?"

" I don't know what to say master?" I am scared how the hell did I made a deal with this handsome monster?

" That's what I thought!" He exclaimed, " let's get to work"

" look at this whole place and tell me what you see," master Chen said in his unusual stern voice. Who does he think he is to be bossing me around.

I look around the place, my eyes scanning the whole field to see if there's anything interesting but I didn't so I turned around and face him.

" I can't see anything except an empty field surrounded by trees 🌲"  I said simply.

" You can't see anything? Look well on the ground everywhere." I obey but still I didn't see anything.

" Nothing at all" I said getting confused at his questions.

He nodded before putting his fingers inside his mouth and whistles.

All of a sudden the began to protrude in deferent places and soldiers emerge from the protruding places and surrounded us but Chen did not flinch unlike me that was frightened.

" What is happening master?" I asked getting really scared.

" That is your first lesson, you need to be invisible to your enemies." He said and fold his hand the that the kungfu master usually do.

" But I don't have power... " I was saying but he cut me off.

" Everyone have power, when you understand what you energy is, that is when it will manifest," he explained.

" So how can I understand my energy?" I asked like a little kid asking questions about a story that their father is telling. The soldiers are still standing there scaring the shit out of me.

" Take a deep breath and relax," I took a deep breath in and breath out. " No no no no, that is not it at all when I say breath in you should do just that and don't do anything else."

" Okay " I took another breath and hold air inside my lungs.

" Good boy, just stay like that until I say otherwise," he said demonstrating.

' this is too simple' I said mentally but took the thought back after some time when I began to choke on nothing.

" Hey I would not ask you if you are alright cause I know you are not but you have to calm down and concentrate on what you want to move with your mind," he said like a good teacher while patting my shoulder soothingly.

" Can we start all over again? Is impossible to calm down when there's no air in your lungs,"

First you have to overcome your fears and before you can do that you must know the meaning of fear, so can you tell me what is fear? Oh, you are still standing? You can go now I am done with you," he said turning to the soldiers and wave them off they all March away in one line before master Chen turned to me again" like I was saying you have to know the meaning of fear to overcome it, so if you don't mind can you tell me the meaning of fear and what it does to someone?"

" According to my teacher Mr Brown fear is a natural phenomenon in a man as a response to life threatening and unexpected situation in life," I said all thanks to my blonde haired counselor that never seize to tell us what fear means.

" Correct," he said happily, " both the strong and the weak experience fear although their reactions are different, " so how can you overcome fears?" We have been training for what seems like an hour now and I think I am doing pretty well even though master Chen never complement me.

" No concentrate on that he said dropping a small rock in front of me.

" Look at it, and say what you want to do to the rock in your mind,"  he said coming to stand behind me.

I glared at the rock and wishes that it melt down but nothing happened, I look at Mr. Chen but he urge me to continue.

" Don't give up yet continue persuading the rock to do what you want,"

' melt melt melt," I sang mentally I continued ranting non stop until the rock began to shake, then warmth flow through my whole body and the rock melt down in an instant.

" Wow I did it," I shouted happily and hugged Mr Chen. " Em... Em so sorry," I apologized.

" Let's go it's getting dark," he said and started skipping away.

" Hey can you please wait?" I snapped at his back.

" If you have anything to say you have to catch up with me first, that is also a part of your training, run!" He said and took off.

I chased after him when I began to hear some creepy footsteps, I run without looking back.

After running for what seems like half an hour but it's just five minutes. we came out of the woods and began to see houses ' we are getting closer to the village!" I reasoned.

" What was that place that you took me to?" I asked I am still mad at him for breaking my 👃 nose.

" It's my training ground," he said flatly, it's obvious that he didn't care if he burst my nose, he is not even sorry.

" Are you the owner of the field?" I asked.

" Yeah"

" How can only one person be training in that massive field? " I Asked

" I have like four thousand soldiers and we all train there every morning," he said.

" Wow, you have so many soldiers huh?" I asked him.

" Go to the refuge camp I am not going to be around for now so, you should look for someone to guide you to your room."

" What do you mean, I hope it's not what I am thinking now, how in the hell will I get to my so called room if you are not going to show me?" I asked agitated.

" Suit yourself," was all he said before vanishing into the woods.

Training day three

" I don't know why you are so lazy but I will tell you this:  for you to get married to your lovely princess you will have to brace up and be a man," master Chen said to me, we have been training for days now and he still says that I am not improving even though I have learnt a few things, though it's not even up to four days yet.

" It's not up to four days you know, I have like twenty-five days left so what is your problem? " I asked, looking at him in the eyes even though I know that I am going to be punished later, he smirked.

" Follow me," he said, " it seems like I am too lenient with you don't you think?"

" You are too hard on me Mr." I said aggressively.

" Oh, maybe my general will be more hard on you cause I am not going to waste my time on you again." He said picking up his jacket that he hanged on a branch of a mango tree that was on our way.

" but you need to teach me since you said that you are a master, you know I need to be the best!!" I shouted after him before picking up my clothes and putting them on, he was the one that said I should remove my shirt in that particular training. " Please wait for me will you?" I ran after him after I finished wearing my shirt.

" Don't worry my general was my master she was the one that taught me martial arts after the death of my father." He said.

" So she is your basically your master right? " I questioned.

" Yes she is and will also be your master from now on, " he said matter of fact.

We reached the main training ground and Mr Chen dragged me to the front.

" Ms shu here is your new student, Please I want you to train him for the period of 26 days and I also want him to be stronger than me if possible please. " He pleaded with authority. Ms shu look me up and down and asked " what is your name boy?"

" I am not a boy you know I am 18 for god sake... " Before I could finish what I was saying a very hard punch landed on my stomach, " what the hell!!!" I groaned in pain.

" Boys! Beat him up," Ms shu said. What a wicked witch.

" Ahhh!!!" I groaned in pain as the young nurse massage my back with hot water it is very painful, after miss shu ordered her boys to beat me up, I was forced to clear a part of the training ground that was bushy before the real training begun.

The whole thing was what tired me out so much, how much more do I need to suffer before I could be as strong as they want me to.

Anything for princess... Princess who, I don't even know her name nobody does. the king never allow his daughter to come out of that mansion that they live in so only those that are related to him knows her name.

King Arthur have done a very good job in keeping his daughter away from the villagers, how pathetic can the village be for him to do that but nobody complained.

" Are you ok now?" The nurse asked maybe she noticed that I went still for a moment.

" Yes but not very good, my back still hurts." I whimpered.

" Sorry, you were the one that cause yourself all this trouble had it been you kept your mouth shut by now you would have been learning instead of being punished." Mr Chen said from the doorway he raised his head that he was resting on the wall and turn to walk out of the room that is being use as a hospital room.

" Are you really going to leave me here?" I asked trying to get up from the bed but the that surge through me made me lie face down on the bed.

He stopped in his track turning to face me before laughing like a maniac.

" You should wait for your master to tell you what to do if you get up from there without permission from Ms shu I don't know what may happen to you so better behave yourself and wait for instructions."

" You are both pathetic!" I yelled.

" Thanks," he said laughing before turning and walking away.

I turned and nearly fell off the bed out of anger I stood up and walk towards the adjoining door which I assume was the toilet.

I opened the door and went inside to pee I am so close to peeing my pants I removed my belt and started peeing on the wall it's an habit that I have gotten used to.

" Why the hell are you peeing in my room Mr ??" A loud thunderous female voice rang through the whole room startling me.

" Ma'am I am so sorry I didn't know it is your room I am very sorry. " I apologized still peeing it's not my fault that the pee would not stop.

" Now you know please stop peeing in my room or else I am going to call the cops on you! " She threatened mindless of the fact that there's no cop in this kingdom.

" Are you kidding me, there's no cops in this part of the country," I said.

" Then I will have to report you to the king if you don't stop." She rant now standing in my back and hitting me non stop on my injured back.

" Ma'am please stop beating me, I am trying to stop but the rain will not stop falling!! " I complained turning to face the woman and intentionally peeing on her whole body. My eyes landed on the most beautiful woman I have ever seen, I immediately forgot that I had urinated on her, you are so beautiful I said raising my hand to hold her face.

A hot slap landed on my face immediately my hand touched her face bringing me back to my mind.

" I am so sorry ma'am I didn't mean to pee on you please forgive me?" I pleaded with the woman how can I be so careless.

" You... How dare you pee on me? I will report you to my wife and she is going to kill you." She said storming off.

" You are married?" I asked after her but she is gone, she can't here me.

" I was going to apologise," I said to no one in particular.

" Excuses, excuses, excuses, why didn't you apologise when you had the chance to? " Chen said.

" What are you doing here, I thought you left already?" I asked looking at him expecting a reply from him.

" I heard the voice of Mrs shu's wife so I came in only to see you guys making a funny scene so I... "

" Ms shu is her wife? " I asked fear gripping me.

" Unfortunately, for you... You better go and apologise now before Mrs shu come back from training. "

He said and turn around and start walking away. "I am in deep shit," I lamented.

" A very deep one," Chen popped his head inside the room to mock me.

" GO AWAY FROM ME!!!" I yelled.

Jake's POV

" May I know you?" The lady that was sitting beside me said in the most sweetest voice I have ever heard before.

" Are you sure you want to know me," it is not like it's necessary or compulsory to know your seat mate in a public bus.

" I feel like I have seen you somewhere before,"" she said.

" Okay then I will start by introducing myself.

I am Jake Roland I am from a small village called Nile I don't think you will know the village it's a very small village." I said.

" I am going there too but I don't think that is where I know you what do you do for a living? " She asked enthusiastically.

" You have not even told me your name," I scoffed.

" I am Katlyn but my friends call me Katy, I work as a doctor in hope hospital." She replied.

" Hope hospital? " I said amazed.

" Yep, the one and only," she boasted. " So tell me more about yourself ?"

" Like I said before I am Jake Roland and I am thief, " I paused to look at her panicked expression. " It seems like there's no need for me to tell you about me since you cannot handle it! " I said.

" What do you mean by ' I am a thief ' she asked amused, she probably thinks that I am joking.

" I was a shoplifter but now I am a Mafia boss I have achieved so many things haven't I, " I asked her.

" You shouldn't be saying that it is not a good thing you know! " She is advising me, wow who the hell does she think she is.

" Look here Lady if not that I like you and I am going to **** you right now, I would have ordered my men to deal with you. " I threatened.

" You think you can scare me? Hahaha," she laughed. " You think you can scare me now I remember where I met you, you were the idiot that send a group of foolish men to come kidnap me yesterday aren't you I... Blah blah blah " I did not listen to her again as I stare at the way her mouth move. She is brave, I love brave women. I turned to face her and grab her neck.

"I think we should buy, you know we are going to need it," I have a lot of cars and trucks I just don't feel like going home with it.

" Okay boss," he walked away to get the van and I turn to what is her name again, don't blame me.. oh Katy, yeah Katy is her name.

" Why are you going to the village? It's not like you are going to participate in the tournament anyway," she look like she is seeing a ghost. " Look I am sorry for not letting you have ******..." I was apologising before someone cut me off.

" Mr please get down from my car this is the last bus stop!" The driver snapped at me.

" Are you talking to me?" I asked calmly looking over at him.

" Who else is still on this bus with you two!?" He yelled at me again.

" Hey chill man I am coming down," I said still as calm as I was before, I don't want any trouble.

" You better do or I am going to throw you out," that really get to me.

" You want to throw me out of your useless bus?" I asked him this time a little harsher than I intended to, Katy took my hand in hers and intertwined our fingers which calm me again but the calmness was short-lived when the stupid driver begun to storm towards me.

" Get down from my car this minute or else I will deal with you," he said and I waited for him to touch me first so I could see an excuse to beat him senseless.

" Hey, you better behave yourself or else I will be the one to deal with you," Katy said fiercely.

" And who do you think you are for you to talk to me like that?" I look at the driver then Katy, contemplating if I should do something or just sit back and watch.

" Mr look here do..." Before the bus driver could say anything else Katy slapped him across the face, I love where this is going.

" How dare you touch me with your filthy ha..." Another slap landed on his face again before the real fight began. Katy grabbed his neck and smacked him across the chest making him groan in pain I couldn't help but be amazed at how Katy has settled the score with the bus driver.

After they fought for like five minutes I won't say fight let me put it this way after some minutes of Katy beating the driver I stopped them and inject the amnesia drug on him before kicking him out of the car.

I called Clint which he picked up immediately.

" Come back I think we should borrow a car that I see here." I said.

" But I have already bought the van that you said I should buy. " He said respectively.

" Oh, ok bye, " I hanged up before looking at the man. Who is minutes away from loosing his memory, " you are very lucky," I I said spitefully.

" Hey do you want to use his car for the trip?" Katy said as she walked over to where I am standing.

" He is lucky that Clint had already bought a car." I replied to her questions.

We have been driving for almost an hour now and still we are not close to the village yet.

" Can you drive faster Joe," I asked my other boy that was driving the car even though I know that the road is very bad.

" Yes boss I will drive faster," he said I am sitting in the back of the new limousine that Clint bought for the trip I couldn't believe him he said that he bought a van but came back with a long limo. Katy was beside me she was cuddling me up even though she fell asleep a long while ago she still will not let herself be untangle away from me.

' is this that thing they call love at first sight, who even gave her the idea that I am interested in love, I just want to have fun not some pathetic excuse to cling against some one that does not want to be cuddled. '

I reached for the wine stand next to me and took my glass of wine and brought it up to my lips and took a long chug emptying the glass I poured myself another one I don't care if I get drunk all I want is to get to the village before tomorrow.
