Dad.... sob...dad....what should I do?

The poor youth attempted to stop the blood flowing from the opening wound of his father's belly. But, it was no use. He sobbed. Tears wouldn't stop flowing down his cheeks. His right hand which was drenched in his father's blood, wouldn't stop trembling.

It was all a mess.

He had no idea where he was right now or how he and his father ended up here.

Today was his sixteenth birthday. It was supposed to be the happiest day of a year. It was supposed to be....

He could sense his father's breath getting shallower and shallower. Li Haoyu realized. His father was now breathing for his very last moment.

Li Haoyu reached out for his dad's hand, wanting to grasp it in his hands and tell his dad to hold on.

But he flinched once his hand felt it. Li Haoyu immediately dropped his dad's hand and subconsciously shifted away.

His dad's hand had no fingers left. They had been all cut off. What left there was just a palm which couldn't even be called a palm.

"Haoyu.... "

With that very last energy, his father called out to him. Li Haoyu immediately crawled back to his father and hugged him tight, his voice all trembling.

"I'm here, dad.... I..... I'm here....."

His tears fell on the old man's cheek covered in purple bruises.

"Survive.....

Li Haoyu didn't manage to give a reply. He sobbed deeply. He hated how weak he was and could do nothing for his father.

Not all omegas are weak.

This was his notion. This was what he had been trying to prove to his dad all these years. But now, he could only laugh at himself.

All he's doing in his father's last moment was just crying..... sobbing like a pathetic child and telling his dad to hold on as if this was gonna solve everything.

A very vague smile appeared on his dad's face. He also smiled in return. But that smile vanished in the next second, replaced by another sob.

Li Haoyu buried his face in his father's chest and sobbed heavily as he felt his dad's heartbeats eventually stopping to exist.

"What should we do with this omega, boss? "

He was scared. He was sad. And, it's cold here. And, the voice of these kidnappers was the last thing he wanted to hear right now.

A chill went down his spine as this cold and unfeeling tone of a man came out.

The owner of this voice was sitting in the dark while Li Haoyu was sobbing, hugging his father's corpse under the flickering light of a small light bulb.

It was an alpha.

Just from that man's pheromones alone, Li Haoyu could tell.

"Beat him up, torture him slowly and take his life.

I don't wanna see any bloodline of Li Family breathing the air on this earth for the next hour."

Just as his command fell, five big men in black suit with big and masculine build came forward.

Li Haoyu's whole body trembled. He hadn't done crying over his father's death yet. But, it seemed like he also had to cry for himself soon.

Li Haoyu doubted if he could ever keep that promise given to his dad just now.

Will he really manage to survive?

A merciless kick landed on his head. And it sent flying him onto the floor. His head knocked the cold concrete floor. Crimson blood gushed out of his head.

It hurts....

Staring numbly at his dad's corpse next to him, Li Haoyu could only repeatedly mumble these two words in his mind as series of kicks fell on him.

He was trembling uncontrollably. Tears flowed down and moistened his blonde hair.

His head, his arm, his back, his leg......

There's not a single place on his body which doesn't hurt.

He bited his lips till they bleeded, trying to restrain himself from letting out a single whimper.

He wanted to curse that alpha. Curse him, yell at him and ask him why he's doing all these things to him and his dad.

Just what did they do to deserve such a torture?....

But, Li Haoyu couldn't even let out a sound.

He found himself all numb and shocked at this unexpected turn of events. He could only pathetically continue sobbing.

Li Haoyu slowly opened his eyes. And, the sight of a luxurious bedroom came into his vision.

A realization of himself being still alive amazed him.

Did they spare him? It's impossible.

Li Haoyu could only come up with two solutions. It either the police arrived in time or a random citizen showed up and saved him.

He wanted to sit up. But, Li Haoyu found himself having troubles even to move a limb. There's not a single place on his body which didn't hurt.

At that moment, the door to the bedroom suddenly opened. Li Haoyu flinched. The thought of that person being an alpha frightened him.

Li Haoyu took a quick peek at that person. It was then the two of them met eyes.

The young omega flinched at the other's cold eyes.

Without uttering a word, that man walked over.

He stopped by the bedside as he continued to stare at Li Haoyu.

The young omega opened his lips, wanting to say something to the man. But, no voice came out. Li Haoyu was shocked. He couldn't talk anymore. Only some noises which didn't make any sense, came out from his throat.

What......what had happened to him?

Even though the man obviously realized Li Haoyu had troubles uttering words, he neither gave a reaction or said a single word to the young omega.

Instead, the man only made a call to someone whom Li Haoyu guessed to be a physician.

And his hunch was right. Half an hour later, a doctor showed up and gave him some medical check-up.

"There's no need to worry. It's only temporary. This is simply because you just experienced some minor trauma.

After a month or two, you should be able to talk properly again. "

It was what the doctor said..

How could that incident be just a minor one?

But, Li Haoyu was more curious as to how this physician knew he had gone through such bad things. Was it that handsome man with a cold expression who told everything?

Li Haoyu had no idea.

From that day on, the physician always made sure to come and give a check up on him every morning. A woman in her forties who seemed to be a servant in this mansion regularly came to his room and serve him meals.

But, the handsome man he saw on his first day of gaining consciousness, was nowhere to be seen. And, that man never came once to visit him.

The young omega would occasionally be allowed to go for a walk in the mansion's garden. Even by then, Li Haoyu never managed to catch a glimpse of that man.

According to the woman who had been nursing him all along, Li Haoyu found out that, that handsome man was the owner of the mansion, an alpha, and also the one who saved him from those kidnappers.

Li Haoyu had been looking forward to a chance to thank him. But, the other never showed up as if he was deliberately trying to avoid him.

Relaxedly folding his arms and standing in front of a doorway of a room which the young omega just checked, was a man with striking yet cold facial features.

His eyes were as cold as ice. They lacked in emotions as if they didn't belong to a living person at all.

It was that man Li Haoyu saw on his first day of gaining consciousness in this mansion.

Getting stared at by those cold brown eyes, Li Haoyu almost forgot to breathe. His body turned stiff.
