It was very obvious that this time she was definitely going to die....

Unable to escape, she ran away as far as possible...yes she was running....was trying harder to get away. But in a split second she realised that she was falling, failing to escape....then she fell.

into the darkness

where was she?..in hell?

something pulled her legs.. a gasp escaped her mouth!, she was being forced to fall now..

but to where ?

she didn't know, because it was complete darkness..

It was 2:00 am and Kai woke up trembling,

"that was a dream?..but it felt so real!!..

what is happening to me?"

She drank a cup of water and decided to go back to sleep...trying to forget everything that was recently witnessed in her dreams, yes she was forcing her mind to make it believe that all that just happened was an illussion, something that is not real...

but little did she knew that the pathway to the past was calling for her...

how long will she remain?

where did she actually belong?..

in the past or the present?

"She's a snake'" thats what they say, behind her back, not because she betrayed, but because her actions were unpredictable, she was the symbol of power and elegance with a touch of exquisitive smartness.

Kai didn't came from a rich background, her family did have a stable background not on a financial basis but they all were happy , they mastered well to hide their pain behind a simple smile for her sake but kai did knew it all along. It can't be true if we say that she didn't suffer to reach this far. Now she has everything, she posseses the riches from beyond the seven seas and have connections worldwide.. A literall empress who knew both pain and agony. She knows which one to treat right and to which one to be cautious with, she can be a cold blooded snake as well as a warm hearted person at the same time.

She never had time to love, but she did have feelings,.. feelings that were suppressed and somehow long and forgotten for the good.

Kai's working partners more like friends were also expectionally good,

Zoya the short haired assistant, she is one of the personality that Kai treasured the most. Zoya is expectionally good at calculations and is quick witted. She is short tempered but has a tendancy to joke in a serious situation. Whatever happens Zoya is gonna be there for Kai and the same is for Kai in case of Zoya. They are inseperable. Zoya is a person who head to toe admires Kai. Unlike Kai, Zoya comes from a different background...a more stable one. They were childhood friends, Zoya has been there for Kai at all times.. when she laughed, cried, surprised and who knows...maybe with her in the past too..

2.Yasmine(reference)

Yasmine the kind hearted one, she always thinks about other people's feelings.But don't misunderstand her as an easily getting fooled kind of person, she does have a stern personality when it is required. She knows how to take care of herself and to be considerate of others. Kai never looses track, both mentally and career wise, because she has yasmine's guidance.

Kai,Zoya and Yasmine, a perfect elite team that lead the company named the 'Empire', this trio was enough to make anyone jealous, the company functioned pretty well.

With Zoya's assistance and Yasmine's guidance no one stood a chance against Kai...

It was 8 am and Kai was ready to go to the Empire. She has dressed up pretty well in a suit and skirt outfit and her long slim legs were standing out a bit but she didn't care.

Kai was not a beauty concious woman but she always made sure that she was dressed neatly and formal.

'excuse me mam'..

Kai:"Yes Nico?"

(Nico is the personal assistant of Kai who takes care of all the household matters.)

Nico: "Zoya mam has arrived, should I bring her in?"

Kai:"No need Nico ,We will head together to the Empire now. "

(sudden rustling of footsteps)

"Huh!! Whats with the hurry my darling?"😉

Kai turned around and she was surprised.

Kai:"Zoya?🤨 What are you doing here? We need to leave now and who asked you to come inside?"

(Kai had an annoying face now)

Zoya: "oh! 😅Those lads can wait for a bit,but first I should suffice my hunger!,"(zoya said with a proud face)

Zoya:"Nico!😌"

Nico:"Yes Mam?😁"

Zoya:"Whats there to eat my boy?, and by the way...you are looking damn cute these days?"😏

(Zoya was smirking and Nico was blushing☺)

Kai:" Zoyaaa. I have told you a hundred times not to do that!!!."😠

Zoya:" Don't do what?😒"

Kai: "😤Dont do your honey talking with my assistant!"

Zoya:"🤨Or else?, What'll you do?"

It was leading to a situation where they were starting to argue so Nico stepped in and said-

Nico:"uhm.."

they both turned their heads towards him

Nico: "Well there are pancackes.."

Zoya:"Yup, that will do.."

Kai: "Finish it and Come quickly, I'll be waitin in the car. and.. 😑Don't flirt with him.!"

(Kai ordered Zoya while pointing towards Nico)

Inside the car

Kai was going through some files when she suddenly felt a headache.

She closed her eyes for relief

but it was not stopping

the pain increased as the seconds passed.

it made her remember the darkness....

yesterday's darkness that pulled her towards nowhere..

her dark visions started to stir..

like a delusion

she started to see colours

then the colours were blending in a circular motion

Then she heard someone.....

someone was calling her name...

Kai.. Kai....

Someone was reaching thier hand out to her from the darkness..

She wanted to see who it was..

She wanted to know more about this illusion but she was afraid...

afraid that she would be stuck inside forever

But it was Kai,

Kai always summoned the courage for the impossibles..

She leaned out to the darkness...

She saw the hand it was glistening white with a glimmer.

The hand had no stability it was throughout glitching...

She leaned forward now when she looked at the person straight to face..

She was taken aback... she gasped...

She longed for breath...

It was Yasmine...

Now voice that was calling for her became more louder...it began to shake her..

the darkness again stirred..

Khai opened her eyes gasping for breath

She was still inside the car and Zoya was banging on the window calling out her name...

Kai in a swift motion opened the door , got out of the car and hugged Zoya..and cried..

Zoya:"Dude!! What happened? Did someone did something to you ? who is it? Do you want me to kick his a*s?

Are you okay?"

Kai: "No Zoya....(still crying)

I'm having this wierd nightmares and illusions that are driving me insane. Maybe I need to see a therapist"..

Zoya:"Calm down Kai (Zoya was worried about kai condition)we all are here for you ..we can see a therapist if that will help, you dont have to worry about anything... I am still ready to kick some a*s , you just need to say..okay?"

ring ring ring...📱

(it was Zoya's phone ringing)

Zoya: Yes Nico?

Nico:"I just got a call from the Empire" (Nico's voice was trembling)

Zoya:"What is it"(zoya asked worried)

Nico:"Yasmine Mam has been missing for the past 24hrs, her phone is still in the office and no one saw her leaving, it looks like she disappeared into thin air"

Zoya:"Did you contact the police?"

Nico:"Yes, they have already searched through the whole state and no one knows where she is"

Kai:"I know where she is....(with teary eyes)

Zoya looked at Kai's face with curiosity

...she is stuck inside the darkness..."...

Zoya:"Kai what are you talkin about?, what darkness?, my dear you should get some rest first. I and Nico will look for Yasmine"

Kai:"No Zoya , listen to me , we just have to find a pathway to reach the darkness.... Yasmine is stuck there...we can find her"

(Kai was desperate, she didn't know how to explain her visions to Zoya)

At this point Zoya was becoming really worried because, already Yasmine was missing and Kai's condition was also not helping her.

Kai: " Zoya its the darkness.... maybe its a parallel universe or something... its dangerous out there...we must find her...yasmine is alone...its not good"(Kai was becoming hysterical)

Zoya was in a state of helplessness because Kai was that one person whom Zoya could rely on all situations, but now she was feeling all alone and who ever is causing this for them is gonna burn in hell...Zoya is gonna make sure that...

(Zoya was still trying calm Kai out.. thats when...)

ring ring ring..📱

Zoya:"hello"(Zoya answered the phone with a serious tone)

Office worker: "Zoya Mam, You have to come and see this!!..."(his voice was not calm)

Zoya:"Yeah we will reach the Empire in 10 minutes, you guys wait there"

Office worker: " Okay Mam"

Zoya:" Kai listen to me... whatever this darkness you are talking about...we can search for it later..but for now we have to focus on the reality..you have to get yourself together"( Zoya eyes were pleading)🥺

(Kai nodded her heard and wiped her tears away) she straighted her posture and made her vision straight....

from the look on her face, Zoya felt relieved that Kai was all okay now...but at the same time Zoya was also afraid...because now Kai was not afraid.. her face showed agony...the serpentine inside has taken charge.

...So whatever darkness is haunting her......

...is in danger....

The first thought that came into Zoya's mind was to leave Kai in her apartment and leave to the office but she didn't know what all were happening around her, such uncertainity told her mind not to do that..

So Zoya decided to take Kai to the Empire with her.

(The Empire)

As Kai entered the Empire with Zoya following her behind, all the employees stood up and greeted them. Even though this is a daily routine but today was different. All the employees had a worried expression on their faces.. they knew something bad was about to happen..

suddenly the Worker that called them earlier rushed towards them..

Office Worker: " Mam this way..in Yasmine's office.."

Kai: "Yeah okay"

(Yasmine's Office had no walls instead it was of Glass, When Kai and Zoya viewed it from the outside, the table inside still had all the files open, even her laptop was not shut down)

(Both of them were hurting inside but none of them showed it on their faces, because this time they were not ready to fail ...they had to find their friend.)

Zoya: "Did someone Kidnapped Yasmine? Those competitor bastards have no limit to thier actions! its possible"(Zoya spoke with anger in her voice)

Kai: "You're in a way correct.. (Kai had a serious tone)Our competitors are capable of such actions and if it is them then they are making a huge foolish mistake, but Zoya be realistic.. no one saw anyone sneeking in.."

Office Worker: "Yes we have checked the CCTV Footages no sign of anyone. Nothing suspisious"(he spoke with concern)

Kai:"Besides all the materials in the table are still open and there is no sign of any kind of forced actions, see.."(kai pointed towards the table).

Zoya was considering Kai's words and still thinking about any other possibilities that may have occured.

Thats when they heard something from the Office...it was...the sound of..

Burning?

Zoya: "A fire at this time? how is that even possible?"

(she was annoyed and confused)

The office worker ran towards exist to call out for help..

he was yelling to the employees to bring the fire extingishers...

Kai and Zoya: rushed towards the office door to analyse what was happening..

But when they opened the door

...the whole game changed......
