The sky was bloody red with a tinge of black. Looking at it made the group of people feel helpless and despair, as if telling them of their impending doom. The scent of blood was heavy, accompanied by the rotten smell of dead bodies sorrounding them.

They have been fighting unceasingly without any rest. A never ending sea of highly ranked mutants are attacking the group in every direction without pause. Each time another mutant was killed, it would be replaced by another mutant to keep on fighting the humans.

Tiredness overwhelmed them one by one and was immediately swallowed in the swarm of mutants sorrounding them.

Kier keeped on fighting. Rage filled his eyes as he continued to cause a blood bath. Soon he was the only one standing and fighting, all of his comrades died. He was the only human left.

Kier did not stop fighting. If he was going to die, then might as well bring this hateful creatures down with him. Yes, he will bring this mutants down with him at all cost. He took out a ball of dark light in his blue necklace . The ball of dark light gave a sinister feeling. The temperature switched from scorching heat, making one sweat profusely then suddenly the temperature would fall, making one feel as if their ***** in the winter.

It was one of the most powerful essence fire in existence.

The Fire of Destruction

He was supposed to refine this essence fire once he achieved a break through in his powers. It will go to waste once he die, so might as well use this to kill all the living beings within a thousand kilometre .

He keeped on fighting and released all of his power. A massive green fire erupted as the enemies close to him stumbled and died. He used this chance to forcefully extract his essence fire. He gritted his teeth as he felt an excruciating pain. The feeling of his soul being ripped apart almost made him unconscious but he endured it. As soon as he extracted the fire, he forcefuly merge the two flames.

Once the two powerful flames touched each other, it immediately ensued a huge burst of flames as the two fires collide. The flames consumed all that it touched as if it did not exist. It was utter destruction.

"Aaaaaahhhhhh!" Kier screamed as he suddenly sprung up from bed.

Wait... A bed?

He surveyed his sorroundings warily. He was astonished. This place was familiar. It was his dormitory in the University before the apocalypse descended.

What's happening?

"Aish! Why are you screaming!?" someone growled.

Kier saw Chen Young, one of his roommates, angrily staring at him. He was suddenly woken up from his dreamland by Kier. It was only between 4:00-5:00 AM in the morning and he hasn't slept to his satisfaction yet.

Despite the loud commotion Yan Xiao, one of the roommates, was snoring and still aleep. Completely oblivious of what's happening.

"A bad dream?" Drake Coralde suddenly said. He was still a bit sleepy. He rubbed his groggy eyes as he stared at the now confused Kier.

Kier choke when he saw his closest friends alive. They were like his brothers. It pained him when they died in the apocalypse.

Kier did not know what was happening. Was it all just a bad dream just like what Drake said? The apocalypse, mutant beasts, otherworldly races, everything. Was everything just a dream?

But it was so realistic that he still clearly remember the feeling and the oppressive atmosphere of the apocalypse. All the things that happened was still fresh in his mind. He looked down and suddenly saw a faint light flickered in his neck. It was a necklace. A blue stone of unknown origin with a pair of wings beside it and a crown on its top with a intricate carved dragon in the middle of the stone.

Shock could be clearly seen in his eyes. The necklace was something that he acquired from an ancient ruins in the apocalypse. Why was it here? It suddenly dawned on him.

"No, it's nothing"

He heard a 'tsk' from Chen Young who immediately went to sleep. Drake keeped asking what was wrong and he suppressed himself from hugging his roommates. All his closest friends was alive infront of him. They were like brothers. He can't help but to smile and assured his friend that he was okay before Kier lied in bed.

He went back in time, he was sure of it. It was the only explanation that he could think of.

The heavens did not forget about him. They have given him another chance. Now that he was given this chance, he will do everything to protect those that he failed to protect and will surely take revenge to his enemies.

He grabbed his phone and looked at the date at the right side corner of the phone.

August 6, 2019 (Wednesday)

4:21 A. M

The apocalypse should happen at friday noon 3:30 P. M. Kier still has 2 days to prepare for the upcoming upheaval. He got up, changed his clothes and grabbed his wallet and car keys and silently left as to not wake up his sleeping friends. There was no time to loss. He only has a limited short time to prepare the necessary stuffs.

He needs to quickly buy the needed equipments and stuffs to prepare for the upcoming apocalypse, but his money was not that much. There was only a total of 5000 Dollars in his wallet and his bank accounts was frozen because of his father's order. Hesitation could be seen in his eyes as he pondered if he should ask his father for money.

Kier is the illigimate son of the most richest person in their city, Mr. Nolan Durante. During the apocalypse, his father abandoned him and escaped with his family but was soon killed as soon as they left M city.

Serves him right.

"Screw it" The apocalypse was coming and he needed the money. Even if he doesn't like his father, he doesn't have any other option right now. Plus, all the money that his father have would be completely useless soon and it would be a shame if he didn't use it. Money would be completely useless in the apocalypse. No one has time for it. It will only become a pile of paper that holds no value.

Wealth is nothing in the apocalypse. Only the strong can dictate and be respected.

He quickly opened his car door and went in. He didn't know where his father was but he has an inkling to where his father might be. The reason why Kier didn't know the exact location of his father was because they rarely see each other. Who wanted to be close to a father like that anyways. Only considering his image and not even caring about his son.

The car stopped at the front of a luxurious manor. It was a three story modern mansion. Kier walked slowly as he approached the mansion. The guard squinted his eyes, eyeing the person who was slowly walking towards the gate.

"Who are you?" the guard asked, not recognizing the person infront of him

[He must be a new guard] thought Kier as he stared expressionlessly at the guard.

"Move" Kier ordered, glaring at the guard. He doesn't have the time to explain and talk with the guard since that will only delay him much further and he urgently need to speak with his father.

Kier didn't stop at his tracks and when the guard saw this, he frowned and was ready to tackle the person infront of him if the person didn't stop. He was given the task to not let anyone enter the premise, unless it was a friend or a family member. He didn't know this person since the family didn't have a picture of this person. Only the people in the pictures provided by the family can go inside the house.

Kier moved to the right when the guard charged at him. The guard missed its target and when he faced his back, he was immediately met with a fist. The fist collided with his face and he stumbled back. He felt a warm liquid dripping down his face. Before he could check what it was, he was bombarded by fists, the fist moved as if it was rain, pouring down heavily on the body of the guard.

When Kier saw that the guard was propably knocked out by now, he withdrawn his fists and shaked of the blood in his hands. Another guard went out of the gate and was shocked at the sight that he was seeing.

Who would dare cause a ruckus at the house of the Durante's!?

The guard was angered and agitated but when he saw who it was, he calmed himself down and greeted the young man. Although he tried to calm himself down, he was still shocked. Was this child this violent before? He served as a guard for Nolan Durante for almost a decade now and although Kier was cold and indifferent, especially when he's in the house, the kid was not this brutal.

Kier didn't care about the strange gaze that the head guard was throwing at him amd just walked past the guard as he entered the gates.

At the dining area of the house, there are three people eating breakfast. The long table were filled with all sorts of food. The three people are Nolan Durante, Kier's father, Dara Durante, his step mom, and Jeorge Durante, his half brother.

The doorway of the dining room suddenly flung open. The three people stopped eating and stared at the person at the door. They frowned and Kier could feel the deep hostility in the eyes of his younger brother Jeorge.

Madam Dara quickly removed her frown and was replaced with a warm smile. "Kier, why didn't you tell us you were coming?" Madam dara said affectionately, breaking the silence. "Come here and eat" waved Madam Dara.

Although Madam Dara was warmly showing her affection to him, the hostility and killing intent depply hidden in her eyes did not escape Kier's eyes. Living in the apocalypse for almost 15 years, he experienced alot of things. From betrayals, assassinations, fighting just to get a morsel of food. He was always on alert in case something happens. This bit of trick won't work on him anymore.

Thinking back, he was so naive before the apocalypse happened. He was tricked alot of times because of his kindness. Even his own family tricked him then abandon him the next second. This time it will not happen again, he will not allow it.

"I want to talk to dad about something"

Hearing this, Jeorge sneered. Kier looked at him then looked at his father, waiting for his father's reply. His father didn't take long and put his utensils down and sat up.

Seeing this, Madam Dara reach for his husband's hand when she realized that he was about to leave with Kier and talk somewhere else. "Why don't you eat first and talk here?" She wanted to hear the conversation between them.

"No, I need to talk to dad. PRIVATELY" Kier slowly said, emphasising the word 'private'.

He saw madam Dara's face darken but he did not care and just walked out of the room to the garden. His father soon followed, father Nolan was confused, for this is the first time he has seen his son acting like this. The last time he saw kier, the kid was timid and did not dare to refuse anything that his wife would say. There must be something going on. He did not like his son, Kier, but atleast he should know why his son has requested to talk with him. This is the first time that his son initiated to talk to him.

"What is it?" asked father Nolan. He looked at his watch "Say it immediately, I don't have much time. I still need to go to the office before 7:30 A.M"

"Im dropping out of school" Kier didn't beat around the bush and said this as soon as he faced his father.

Father Nolan's eyebrows furrowed as he look at his son. Why was he suddenly dropping out of school? What is he thinking?

"Why?" he asked.

"I don't want to continue studying" Kier responded. This was the reason he could think of to get money from his father since his father would not give him that much money if he asked directly. Plus, society would collapse once the apocalypse descend.

"Just that?" Father Nolan asked inquisitively. He knew that this was not the only purpose of his for coming here. He has been in the business industry for more than four decades and would knew immediately the intention of the other party.

Kier smiled "Money. I need money" He said.

"And why would I give you money?" father nolan asked.

Kier knew that his father would not agree immediately. "Once you give me the money, I will not have anything to do with the family. I will cut any connections, as if I've never been born in the family." his eyes was unwavering, as if the words that he said mean nothing to him. Well, it didn't really meant anything to him. "And since I'm dropping out of school, I will not have any qualification to be the successor and I will withdrew from the family, making Jeorge the succesor."

His father was a bit shock but immediately regained his composure and accepted the deal with him. The Durante Clan did not like him, they have considered him an outsider and he was Nolan's shame. His wife's family also wants to get rid of Kier but Kier still has the protection of his sister's family from his mother so they could only swallow their anger and not make a move. The clan also has a golden rule that cannot be broken. The first child is to be the successor unless the child willingly withdrew, but if the first born wants to regain his position, the second child shall be stripped of his position as the succesor.

Seeing the money in his bank account, Kier's lips formed a slight smirk. There was a total of 100million dollars, just the huge numners of money could make an ordinary man faint from happiness. He was expecting that his father would only give him a few millions, it seems that his father doesn't really like the thought of him succeeding the family head position.

Even though Kier was known by the elite society as the bastard of the Durante family, he still has some bit of connections. He called the owner of the best food processing company, Mr. Jash and made an order. A big order of canned goods and even unprocessed meat. Mr. Jash was delighted at the huge transaction and assured to Kier that he will immediately send all the goods at the location sent by Kier.

The location was his manor at the suburbs of M city.

After the transaction with Mr. Jash, Kier didn't go or buy stuffs and instead went to a apartment complex near the downtown area. The apartment complex was 20 stories high and could be considered as a very decent place to live in. He went inside and press the number '16' on the elevator.

*Ding*

He stepped out of the elevator and pressed the door bell of the house number "1604". He waited for a few second untill someone opened the door. The one who opened the door was a young man in his teens, about 15 years of age. The young man looked up at the dashing man who looked like a model in front of him.

Confusion could be clearly seen in his young and innocent face. The boy looked cute coupled with his expression. "Who is it? Are you looking for someone?" the young boy meekly asked.

Looking at the boy, kier knew who it was. It was nate, the grandson of his ex-butler. In his past life, Nate was one of the greatest figures in the apocalypse. He was one of the people in the top 100 Heavenly Rankings, ranking at number 21. Nate was a gravity ability user in the apocalypse, which was a very rare ability. In his past life they were allies and brothers.

"Is grandpa Wei inside?" Kier smiled as he asked the child.

Nate nodded and called his grandpa. Soon, a man who looked like in his early 50's appeared. When grandpa Wei looked at who it was, he couldn't stop his tears from flowing out of his eyes. He let out a big smile and hugged Kier. Kier also hugged grandpa Wei back. He missed the old man. The old man was the one who took care of him since child but was fired by his step-mom two years ago.

"Come inside" Grandpa Wei joyfully said. Urging Kier to come inside as fast as he can.

"En" Kier responded

"Ah! This is Nate the one that I've been telling you." Grandpa Wei signalled Nate, who was standing at the side of the couch.

"Hello big brother Kier, I'am Nate" the young man intruduced himself. From the behavior of his granpa, he already knew who the man before him was.

Kier patted the head of Nate and also introduced himself.

"What brings you here? You only visited me now. I thought you've forgotten about me" Granpa wei joked.

Kier laughed and showed a sorry and guilty face.

"I'm just joking. I also knew why you weren't able to visit me" Grandpa Wei sighed.

Kier's step-mom strictly did not allow the two to meet and Kier also has to focus on his studies in the university to achieve a high score when he graduates.

"Grandpa Wei, I have something to tell you." Kier's face became serious. "Please listen to me."

When grandpa Wei saw his look of seriousness, he signalled Nate to go to his room first. The young man followed his grandpa's instruction immediately and went to his room.

"What is it?" granpa Wei asked, a bit worried.

"Whatever you hear from me, take it seriously." Kier warned. "Friday afternoon 3:30 pm, the world we now know will end. Creatures will evolve, there will be otherworlds and dimensions that will be connected to our planet through space cracks and wormholes and humans too, will evolve."

Silence

The room was filled with silence. Kier looked at grandpa Wei's expression. He was deep in thought and was contemplating about what Kier has said to him. It sounds crazy but there's a part in him that believed in what Kier said.

"I believe you" Grandpa Wei slowly said and looked at Kier's eyes.

"Grandpa Wei, you should come with me to my manor. It's safer there" Kier said.

Compared to the suburbs, the downtown and the University was the most dangerous zone when the apocalypse appeared. The otherworldly creatures that descended the earth went to places where the population was dense. That is why the downtown and university became dangerous due to its large amount of population.

Grandpa Wei nodded and packed his things and Nate's. Once they were done packing, they immediately left and Kier dropped them off at his manor.

He instructed grandpa Wei to buy alot of foods using his card. He could comfortably left that task to Grandpa Wei since granpa Wei has alot of experience and knew alot of people since he was once the butler of the Durante Clan. As for the weapons such as knives, blades, swords and bows, he will buy it personally. Kier prefered this weapons because it did not require amunations and he could transform the bow so it could use stones instead of arrows. As for the guns, he would only buy a few since it would be useless once the rank 2 creatures, mutants and races appear.

Kier went to a specialty store where they sell weapons such as swords and knives. At first the owner did not want to sell to him, especially since he said he would buy all of the weapons in their store. The owner thought that the man in front of him was joking but when he saw the money he immediately shut up.

"Bring them to this location" Kier said as he handed a piece of paper.

The owner was happy seeing the amount of money that was transferred to his bank account.

"Of course, I will deliver it as fast as I can" the owner happily said. He was so happy that he feels like he's in cloud 9.

Kier went to a clothing store next. He bought alot of clothes that was suitable for extreme conditions and clothes that was comfortable to move to. He did not know the accurate sizes of his friends, grandpa wei, nate and his sister, so he just bought all of it. Allmost all of the clothing store in the street was emptied by Kier.

In his time in the apocalypse, in the early days, he only has one pair of clothes and he had worn it for almost a year. Now that he has a chance to have a lot of spare clothes, he wouldn't miss it. He could just throw all of it in his necklace for safe keeping. His necklace is a spacial equipment that has an infinite amount of space. He did not know if all of his equipment from his past life was still in there, but hopefully once he could open it, the equipments would be there. It could immediately boost his strength to a terrifying degree. There was alot of special and rare herbs in there as well as energy cores that are essential for boosting strength and ability.

Kier didn't immediately went back or go to other places but enjoyed the view of the city. The city was very peaceful and calm, but it will change once the cataclysm arrive. The city will be plunged in chaos. Zombies and other worldly creatures will descend the earth, corpes will be a common sight in the streets. Beast and mutants wandered the city, killing all people and hostile being in its path.

*bzzt* bzzt*

A vibration waked Kier from his toughts. The sound was coming from his phones in his pocket. He quickly took it out and looked at the screen to see what it was.

It was a message from his half older sister, Lai.

"Please call me as soon as you see this"

Kier immediately knew what was happening. His sister's boyfriend was cheating on her. That mother fuc*er boyfriend of her's was a second generation rich kid named Yi Tian.

His blood boiled at the taught of Yi Tian. That piece of sh*t was the reason why his sister died at the beginning of the apocalypse. Kier's sister saved Yi Tian from the zombies that was after him and she was exhausted from the consumption of her energies for using her power. Instead of helping her when another swarm of zombies was coming, Yi Tian pushed her in the direction of zombies to use as a distraction for him to run away and survive.

Kier suppressed himself from going to that bastard's house and killing him. Now is not the time for that. He needed to prepare and warn his loved ones for the upcoming chaos that was about to descend. But before that, he still needs to console his sister. As for Yi Tian, he will deal with him later on.

A slight frown fromed from Kier's handsome face. His sister was not answering her phone. Maybe he didn't call her immediately and she's crying her heart out away from her phone?

He called her again but she still did not pick up the phone. He immediately went to her house which was located at the heart of the city. A few minutes later he was standing at the door of his sister's house. Good thing he knew the password of the house. Once the door opened, Kier went in and saw his sister at the sofa, sleeping.

"I thought something happened" a sigh of relief came out of his mouth.

In his last life, he did not have the chance to know what happened because he did not opened or touched his phone until later that night. He only learned of what happened when he came by as soon as he saw the message.

His sister was sleeping soundly at the sofa, looking extremely exhausted and even though her eyes were closed, the puffiness could still be seen. He carried her and lied her in her room.

Kier cooked some pork stew. He hadn't eaten yet since he woke up early in the morning. He was eating when the door of his sister's bedroom opened.

"Want to eat?" kier asked his sister. "On second thought, you should really eat. You look awful" kier said.

"Are you not gonna asked what happened?" Lai said as she seated at the chair, looking gloomy and at a loss.

"I could already guess what happened... Based on your look" as he said that, Lai immediately cried. Tears streaming down her face continuously without pause.

Kier sighed as he hugged and comforted his sister. This was not the time for this, but he couldn't bear to see his sister like this. He will definitely kill that Yi Tian if the situation presents itself.

After his sister calmed down, he recounted to her what he said to grandpa Wei about the apocalypse. Although Big sister Lai was nodding and looks like she was listening the whole time, she was really not listening at all. Kier rubbed his temples as he stared at his listless sister. He sighed once more and urged his sister to move to the manor with him. She just looked at him for awhile then nodded.
