A long time ago, far far away into the east where the sun rises, many stories about fairies, demons and immortals are born among the common people. I don't know if any of these people have ever seen these magical entities but one thing is sure, they exist.
One of these stories that I happen to hear while travelling through those regions is the tale of a male frog whose appearance was so ugly that not even the fairies couldn't accept him, not to mention that the fairies are extremely beautiful.
The thing is that he wasn't that detestable into the human or demon world but for the fabulous fairies from "The Foretelling Forest" he was unacceptable, so they throw him away.
The poor creature that can't find his place into the world starts travelling through the human world in search of true love and friendship but he is so small and unnoticeable that the humans almost step on him. After many unfortunate events he is saved from death by a fairy child who happens to be born in the human world and whose powers are sealed. The little girl lives with her adoptive parents, who are farmers, somewhere near the forest of foretelling and know a lot about fairies.
The small girl is often attacked by demons but he's too powerless to defend her and she ends up in difficult situations. She is rescued either by cultivators or other fairies.
Seeing himself unable to protect his benefactor, he decides to train and become powerful enough to transform into human shape.
Mr Frog leaves the small settlement where he was living with the little child and her parents and goes in the wildness to cultivate. He succeeded to break through the stages of cultivation and transform into human shape. Surprisingly, the small and ugly frog turned up to be quite a charming young lad. His hair was long and black with nuances of blue, the eyes yellowish brown, he had white and fine skin, a perfect body and face, tall and his lips had the colour of red roses.
Once the transformation is over, he returns to the small farm to reunite with his benefactor but no one is there. The elders had been dead for a year and the girl had been sent to Mt Kunlun six years ago. The news shakes Mr Frog a bit but he fastly finds his calm and offer some prayers to his adoptive parents, then decides to go to Mt Kunlun. The ordinary people are always asking themselves a question when someone mentions this location: "If I go to Kunlun Shan, will I become immortal?"
Kunlun Shan is known to the world as the place of immortality, the dwelling place of different gods and godesses and also a place where you find fabled plants and mythical creatures but there only the talented people can achieve the life of a god. It seems that a passing by priest suggested the old farmers to send the cild there because her sealed powers were attracting too many evil forces. That was the best place for her to train and break the seal, so that she can protect herself in the future. She isn't a normal human child after all!
Hearing these words about the farmers and their adoptive child from the nearby travellers, he starts his journey to Mt Kunlun. After six years the girl should be already fifteen years old. Mr Frog was afraid that she won't recognize him anymore. He was just an ugly greenish frog at that time. She was the one who saved him from being stepped on by a human and gave him this name, Mr Frog. At the time he was named, he became the happiness creature on earth. After years of rejection and ridicule, someone accepts him the way he is. This child becomes the most precious one in the world for Mr Frog. He finally feels loved and accepted by someone.
He would do anything for his saviour, even turning the world upside down.
When the sun rises and its first rays of hope touch the ground and every living creature, Mr Frog starts his trip to Kunlun Shan.
He firstly arrives in the town at the foot of the mountains, where he makes a stop to buy some water and medical herbs. While he is waiting in front of the drug store, a youngster with a bun in the hands bumps into him and he falls down. Annoyed, Mr Frog jumps onto his feet again and goes after the troublemaker.
"Hey, stop! Don't you know to apology when you hit someone? (screams Mr Frog, but the kid doesn't pay attention to the followers)"
In the some time with Mr Frog, other two men were running to catch the fugitive. It looks like the little fugitive stole some buns from the bun store's owner. The two men couldn't keep up with them and eventually gave up the pursuit but Mr Frog having a good physical resistance succeeds to catch up with our troublemaker.
He catches his hand and yells "stop right now".
For his surprise, the sixteen year old friend offers no resistance.
"What do you want from me? Why are you following me? (asks the troublemaker)
I'm following you because I must teach you to respect your elders. Next time when you bump into someone, stop and apology! (says Mr Frog)
Well, I'm sorry! Now let me go! (says the troublemaker)
No way! That wasn't a sincere apology and these buns are stolen, you must pay for them! (yells Mr Frog)
What are you, my father? I was hungry, so I borrowed one. I'll pay next time. (says the troublemaker)
No, you must pay now! (insists Mr Frog)
But I have no money. I lost my purse when I entered the town. There are four days already since that happened and I have no other money upon myself. (says our troublemaker)
Fine, take these money and go to pay the store owner! (and he gives him enough money to buy ten more buns)
Are you serious big brother? (asks the kiddo)
What do you think so? Now go!
Thank you, thank you big brother! I will give them back to you next time! (says the troublemaker)
Ok. Don't forget your promise! (tells him Mr Frog)"
After this interaction, they both go in different directions: the kiddo to pay for the borrowed buns and Mr Frog to the drug store to buy medical herbs.
"What a crazy kid! (exclaims Mr Frog after leaving the town) Now it's time to enter the Kunlun realm."
