"I woke up in the morning and...what getting engaged now??"

Miranna, a 16 year old high school girl. She is a bright, studious and hard working student who is respected by her classmates is the female lead of this story.

She never thinks of falling in love in real life but unexpectedly she is now getting engaged.

"Mom, why am I suddenly getting engaged?"asked Miranna."I don't enen know the boy to whom I am getting engaged."

"Are you feeling excited? The boy is so handsome and well mannered, perfect for my daughter," replied her mother.

"Urgh mom I-"before Miranna could finish her mom ran away telling the guests are calling.

Two days ago,...

A young boy with his two attendees came to meet Miranna's family. At this time Miranna was away from home attending her study classes.

He was super nervous and did not have the confidence to knock at the door."What if they dislike me and think of me as some bad person?"he was shivering.

"Young master, it will be all right. Look at yourself you seem like it is going to be the end of the world."said one of his attendee.

"Shut up, what do you know? This is the first time I meet my in-laws. They don't even know me. Will they think I am some bad person trying to get their daughter?"

The other attendee rang the bell while they were busy talking.

"Ahhh what have you done?" his heart was throbbing as he heard the footsteps getting closer to the door.

The door opened and a beautiful young woman stood in front of the boy.

"Who will you all be?" asked the lady.

The boy was too nervous that he lost his words.

"We would like to have a talk with Miss Miranna's family, beautiful madame," said one of his attendee.

The lady was surprised to see someone ask for Miranna for none of her friends came to visit her as she did not to invite them.

"Well, come inside,"she let them in and showing them the way to the drawing room said, "Have a seat."

"What did you want to talk about my daughter?" said the pretty lady.

"Daughter??" the boy was surprised.

"Yes,I am Miranna's mother."

"Oh! You just look so young that I could not realize," said the boy slowly coming back to himself.

"Ah thank you. Are you acquainted with Miranna?"

"Um.." he started blushing."I recently came from America. I wanted to get your acknowledgement for something. I sincerely hope you would not refuse. I know it is too much to ask for and it is my selfish wish but please do not be angry."

"Well say first. I'll listen till the end."

"I have always wanted to spend time with Miranna. I wanted to see her but I live so far away that I cannot even come in this country. I have huge responsibility to take care of my family's business. I can only enjoy now before I take over the company. I sincerely hope Miranna's parents would let me be engaged to her."

Saying all this he looked at her mother's face. She looked displeased.

After a few discussions and telling Miranna's father, he gave her mother few legal documents. Seeing the conditions and the punishment for the breach of contract on the boy's behalf, she was shocked. After looking at the boy's face for a few minutes she asked him three times whether he was sure of it. Seeing his serious and sincere words, she could not refuse.

"Okay I agree."

The boy felt like he was on cloud nine. " I would like to request you to not tell Miranna now about me and two days later I'll hold the engagement ceremony."

"I allow you to take my daughter's hand but ever shall you make her cry I'll not forgive you"

"Yes, please do not worry," said the boy with a serious tone. "I hope you would not tell her about the contract."

Coming back to the engagement ceremony,...

Her father called her for the ring ceremony and the engagement of Miranna and the mysterious boy was over.

The boy looked so happy like one of his wishes came true which he could not even imagine.Miranna glanced at him once and went to look for a place to rest.

Back into the resting room, she saw her little brother.

"Wow sis you have a fiancee now just like your anime stories. Don't you feel excited?"her little brother teased her.

"As if! How is it like anime? He wouldn't know anything about anime."

Miranna was a really studious girl but she likes anime more than anything.Even she imagines the real world to be like an anime and even behaves like an anime character. To say she is an otaku.

All this moment, her fiancee was secretly gazing at her from behind the door and smiling.He got inside the room and looked at her while Miranna to trouble him said " konichiwa"( japanese word for hi)

To her surprise he replied back.

She was quite impressed.

Her fiancee was a tall handsome boy at the same age as her. Any girl would fall for his looks and the way he stood created a feeling of dignity around him.

"Well take your time and enjoy with your fiancee" saying this her little brother left.

Now it was quite awkward for Miranna for she does not know how to socialize and speak to a totally unknown person.She was an introvert.

Seeing the tensed face on his fiancee, the boy tried to ease the situation."Um I am Ronald. I am sorry if I make you feel awkward. Though we just got engaged, I might not be able to stay today for very long."

"Its okay" Miranna kinda felt relieved that he would not bother her much.

The engagement party was over and after making a fuss, all the guests and her family members left. Now finally she could sleep peacefully at night in her room.

"I hope when I wake up tomorrow , this was all a dream" sighed Miranna.

Next day she woke up early and went to school as normal and her mother and little brother did not seem to talk about her fiancee. She was confused and thought it was a dream.

In school...

"You know what I heard a handsome boy is transferring to our class and he is a total genius " said Rinko, one of the good friends of Miranna. The girls in Miranna's class were all gossipmongers but she herself was never interested in gossips.

"Hi could I sit beside you?" a cute voice of a boy was heard.

As Miranna turned to look at the owner of this voice, she was shocked.

"I started to worry as I saw the person in front of me was none other than my fiancee,"Miranna was surprised to see him in her school.

"Um can I sit beside you?" asked Ronald with a charming smile that made Marinna's friends envious.

"What are you doing here?"spoke Marinna softly to Ronald.

"Wherever my cute fiancee is where I am"he said with a teasing smile.

"You... stop." She looked around to see if someone heard it. All her classmates were looking at her with a curious face. All the girls' eyes were blazing with curiosity.

"Well he is a distant relative of mine," answered Miranna nervously.

Meanwhile Ronald was smiling and thinking,"How nice it is to be near her like this?"

All the girls surrounded Ronald trying to make friends with him. By this moment, she sneaked out of the noisy bunch.

"You have such an amazing relative," said Mac, an all-rounder friendly student in her class who would frequently talk with Miranna.

"Well... uh " feeling guilty about lying but there was no way she will let anyone know that she is engaged to him for her usual composure and personality in school will be ruined.

The teacher arrived in the class and all the students rushed to their seats.

"Today we have a transfer student. Everyone please be nice to him. Miranna , please help Ronald get used to the school and help him if something happens,"said the teacher.

"Yes,ma'am"was the reply.

The classes started and everyone was paying attention except for Miranna.Looking at Miranna, Ronald told her,"Do not worry.I won't tell our relationship to anyone till you want me to."

Miranna lost herself in his words. Usually noone would try to understand Miranna but only force their opinion on her so this was the first time someone looked out for her.She smiled at him and returned to her usual self.Seeing this Ronald was relieved.

In the lunch break...

Almost everyone surrounded Miranna's and Ronald's seat.

"You just came to this school. How about I show you around?"asked one of the girls.

"Its ok. No need to,"said Ronald stealing one glance at Miranna.Miranna was taking out her notes to read when she saw Mac standing beside her.

"Oh sorry I didn't notice you. Is there something you want ?"said Miranna smiling awkwardly.

Mac pinched her cheeks, scolding her,"You are again studying. Did you eat your lunch?I am really worried what will happen to you?"Seeing this Ronald's face turned cold and asked the girl beside him,"Um,he is??"

"Oh he is mac. He is always like this with Miranna."

"I see.."saying this Ronald grabbed Miranna's hand and asked Mac,"Sorry that Miranna has troubled you but do not worry since I am here , I will see to it. Her mother told me to look after her."

"Uhh..Its ok"Mac smiled wierdly.

Seeing what Ronald told, others were shocked and even more shocked was Miranna and she started feeling nervous as she looked around.

Ignoring others,Ronald looked at Miranna and said with a heart warming smile,"Let's finish lunch first and then you can show me around the school."

."Ah..ok.."Miranna could not resist his smile.

"Hey your relative is so nice to you,.aww I am so envious of you,"Rinko spoke softly to Miranna.

"Uhhh...We are relatives after all so we had known each other since we were kids.We used to play together.,"Miranna said nervously.She actually told how she was with her cousins.

After finishing lunch ,only ten minutes were left and Ronald and Miranna went out of the class for school tour.Usually Miranna would sit in her class to study or go out to see her brother and her best friend Milan. Everyone were shocked to see Miranna walk around the school with a boy alone and that to someone other than her brother.

On their way, they met Milan who was more shocked than others to see her best friend with a boy."Hey I thought you did not want to fall in love so young and we even promised to stay single till we graduate from college and travel together," Milan started questioning Miranna.

"Well. .... he is a relative of mine,right?"Miranna looked at Ronald with pleading eyes.

"Uh.....yes,"Ronald smiled quietly thinking how cute she looked almost like a scared kitten almost to tears.

"Oh I see. Nice to meet you I am her best friend Milan,"Milan greeted him and the bell rang so everyone returned to their class.

The classes went as usual and now the last bell rang and schooltime ended and some of the students were rushing to board the bus, some were bidding their friends farewell and while others went to the other side for private dispersal in their own cars.

Miranna walked towards her schoolbus and until she was about to get on she did not notice that Ronald was behind her following her all this time."Are you getting in this bus too?"

"Of course."

"Oh I see.. "Miranna got on and saw Milan and sat inside by the window.It was a three seater but Ronald did not want trouble her much so he sat in the next to it.

Soon Miranna's little brother Lon arrived and seeing Ronald he was surprised and blurted "brother in-" interrupted by Miranna. Lon moved excitedly towards Ronald and asked why was he there and got to know he transferred to his sister's class.Miranna could not understand from when did Lon and Ronald became so close. Giving a sigh she mumbled," Boys are like this I guess."

With all the noise around Miranna could not sleep even though she was extremely tired and students in the bus got fewer by fewer as they got by the bustops. Now it was the stopage for Miranna, Lon and her neighbours. They all got down and with them even Ronald got down.

Miranna looked perplexed now and looked at Lon once but he pretended he didn't notice. She walked on and thought maybe she was thinking too much until they reached home did she notice that Ronald was beside her.

She finally turned to ask,"You-" but got interrupted as Ronald closed the distance between them and whispered in her ear,"Of cource I need to live together with my future wife. Well I'll be in your care from now on my dear fiancee."

Miranna got perplexed and nervous as she heard Ronald so close to her.She quickly ran inside and took her phone to call her mother what was going on? So she went inside her room and closed the door behind.

"Mom what's going on? How come Ronald is living together with us?" said Miranna catching on her breath. She was super angry with how things were going on.

"Oh that... His parents are in America so they entrusted us to take care of him. So for a while he'll be staying with us. Be good and do not bully him," said her mom as she cut off her call continuing her work. Her mother was a teacher.

Usually when someone other than those whom Miranna is very much familiar and family members with whom she has close relations stayed at her home for many days, she would get irritated and would not get out of her room to even meet them. She was not much of an extrovert and did not know how to get along with other people well. Sometimes she would tease little kids to the point that they start crying.

She got outside her room to pick up her clothes from the balcony where they were hunged for drying. She looked around to see whether Ronald was around.Ronald was nowhere to be seen so she quickly went back to her room to change her clothes.

After getting refreshed after coming from school, she went to the study room where there were two tables each for the siblings. Ronald came in after asking for permission.

In the study room..

He stared at her for a few minutes before asking anything. Before he would ask anything, Miranna could not stand the tensed atmosphere so she asked," Do you learn many languages? Yesterday you understood what I said in japanese right?"

"Yes I like to learn other languages,"he answered with a smile.

"I like to as well. Do you see anime cartoons?"her eyes shining with anticipation.

"Yes of course," he replied.

Miranna totally changed her character and she had a smile on her face, filled with happiness and and her eyes glittering with excitement more than ever. She loved seeing and everything about anime more than anything. When she can relate to anyone similar to her who likes anime, she gets so excited that she cannot control herself.

Looking at this side of Miranna, Ronald could not help but laugh. "So?? Then is there anything you wanna talk about?" Then once she starts she cannot think of how to stop. She would like to talk about so many things and doesn't even know where to start.

"Which genre do you like? How many have you seen? What are they?" Miranna asked wiyh excitement him. Ronald then tells,"I like all genres. I have watched so many that I cannot count." Then they both start talking about anime and time passed a lot but they didn't realise. This was the first time for Miranna to talk with anyone about her likings and hobbies. Usually she would tell her brother but he would just pretend to listen while playing games in his phone. She had very few friends to whom she could talk freely could not tell them everything.

Ronald was similar to her in some ways. They both shared thes same hobbies, were good at studies and had few true friends. They even liked to be good at almost everything.

After an hour and a half passed, it was already snacks time. They went to see what was Lon doing all this time.

At home only they three were there as Miranna's both the parents were working so they really come late home everyday so it has always been her and her brother to stay alone till 7 or sometimes 9 at night before their mother arrived.

Lon was busy playing with his friends in online games. Miranna called out to him and scolded him for playing continuously for more than an hour.

"Lon it is already snacks time."

"So??"

"Aren't you hungry? Don't you wanna eat?"

"Nope. It looks like you are the one who wants food. Make your snacks on your own."

Miranna looked at Lon with puppy dog eyes acting cute saying," C'mon you are my cutest brother who always listens to me. Please."

"No way I am not falling for it. You always do that."

Ronald who had been listening from behind to this siblings conversation started laughing.

"Hey what are you laughing at?" asked Miranna pouting.

"Nothing. Just looking at you two argue I couldn't understand who was supposed to be the elder sibling. It seems as if you are the little sister acting all spoiled. How childish. Hehe.."

"I just like to act like a child and my brother should listen to his elders like me," replied Miranna turning her face away.

Miranna usually behaved spoiled in front her brother and always commands him to do a lot of for her. When they were little, Miranna used to take care of her brother a lot and he would always say that he loved his sister the best. But as she grew up her brother started spoiling her and she got used to it.

"If you want food then I can make something for you."

"No, you are the guest. Hey Lon?"Miranna glared at her brother.

"Its ok. From now on we are living together. I can at least do these things."

"Sis its bad to turn down someone's kind intentions. Why don't you just listen to him?" Lon said with a serious face to escape work.

"You just want to escape work right?"she glared at him. But he ignored her. She gave a sigh and told,"At least you can show him where what things are kept in the kitchen. I do not know so I cannot help." Miranna would rarely cook so she didn't know anything.

After showing Ronald the placement of all things in the kitchen, he went back to the bedroom to chat with his friends.

"I am sorry we are you cook for us,"said Miranna with a guilty face.

"Its ok. Anyways it is my duty to fulfil my wife's wishes," Ronald teased her.

"Hey who is your wife. We are just engaged for now," said Miranna with a pout on her face. She behaved really as cute as a kitten so Ronald couldn't help but chuckle.

"Can you cook? What are you gonna make?" Miranna was observing him closely and was curious about what he was gonna do.

"Well just wait and see," said Ronald getting ready to cook and he became serious.

More and more she looked at him, the more charming he looked while he was cooking. She could not help but gaze at his serious face. To her he looked more and more similar to the male anime characters and she was quite impressed. "You are like a real life anime character." She told him with a smiling face and looked at him with curiosity. She felt like she wanted to know more about him and somehow he was quite different from the all the boys she had met.
