Ch 1: All Roads Lead To Death

A popular novel who's popularity never seemed to fade with time.
It was the ultimate dream of women of all ages, and also one of my studies in English.
I was upset about it at first.
Why analyse a romance book which has only been written a year ago instead of a classic literary text like "To Kill A Mockingbird" or "Emma", to name a few.
But I soon realised that the book itself was a piece of literary masterpiece.
The plot twists, the way that the characters were portrayed...
I analysed and read over it countless times, yet there couldn't have been one scenario where saving the female lead, Emilia Arabella, my namesake, could have been possible.
I remember wishing to have the chance to try it and see if all roads truly lead to death and falling asleep, only to wake up in the climax scene at the beginning of the book.
After saving the King from some poisoned wine, Emilia Arabella is bestowed a royal wish, a blessing normally only bestowed upon someone once a century.
In the book, Emilia asks for her father's title to be restored, but even when she does that, without the money to maintain her family's territory, they must take a loan out from the Brue Family, where one of the male leads is present.
He is the son of the head of the Brue Family, and is a true sadist.

Perhaps you need some time to think about it?
I've tried so many scenarios... yet none of them would work out.
It's like the author has predicted everyone's potential fixes and countered them in an instant.
But I believe to have found a way, and though it might not be reliable, I believe that I have the mental strength to pull it off.
Right now, Emilia is only 16. Her unavoidable death will always happen when she's 18, so I still have time to turn this around.

Ch 2: Destructive Prince
The Prince is the main villain of the novel. During the ceremony banquet, he bursts into the hall and nearly kills Emilia, who is saved by one of the other male leads, head of the royal guard, Edward Akarne.
But I won't let that happen this time.
This time, I'm going to catch him before he goes in a frenzy.
The truth is, I resonated with the Prince a lot.
The lack of a mother figure in his life made him susceptible to mood swings and violent outbursts.
So I know that all he ever wanted was a warm pair of arms around him, treasuring him.
He needed a woman's touch, and I'm going to give it to him before his first violent outburst.
I was escorted towards his chambers, where one of the servants knocked on his door.
I frowned and ended up pushing past the doorman, walking right into the room.
Prince Rhysand, his shirt open, snarled.
Rhysand Lexian
What the f**k do you think you're-
I then opened my arms and hugged him. I hugged him tightly, running my fingers through his hair.
He didn't push me away though. He just let me hold him, just like a small child.
When the doormen went to remove me, Rhysand snarled.
They immediately backed away and slowly closed the door.
Rhysand Lexian
Are you seducing me?
Of course he'd think that. He hates women who try and seduce him.
Emilia Arabella
I just thought that you needed a hug when I saw you, so I gave you one.
Rhysand Lexian
You... who exactly are you?
Rhysand Lexian
A gift from one of my enemies?
Emilia Arabella
A gift? I'll take that as a compliment.
He looked down at me and slowly ran his fingers through his hair.

I don't know. Wealth, jewels, land, dresses, whatever women like.

He looked at me and sighed.

I smiled and hugged him again.

He then leaned in, enveloping himself in the hug before lifting me up and carrying me to his couch.
Setting me down, he sat beside me and frowned.
It was as if he was waiting for me to hug him again.
I smiled brightly, making small stars glitter in my eyes before hugging him again.
I don't know how many hours had passed, but very soon, I fell asleep in his arms.
Noticing how I had fallen asleep, Rhysand looked at me and placed a lock of hair behind my ear.

Does she want to seduce me?
He then read the letters in the ancient language that appeared above my head.

The writing warped, then regained its previous shape.
