“Hi, My name is Chan. Today is the first day of January. This notebook is a gift from a pen pal, so I decided to make this present my new journal. I wish to write my life book from today onwards.

Dear future Chan,

The Chan of 20XX is currently struggling. Did I overcome these challenges? If so, you gotta thank me. I worked hard for that.

I’m currently 5 feet and 2 inches tall. My Asian hair is dyed with mint green highlights. My interests as of today are collecting pompompurin merchandise and feeding stray cats in the neighborhood. I go out a lot these days because I desire to create good memories out of my life too!

She decorated her journal with stickers from the store down the street, where she normally shops.

She stroked her chin. "But something is missing..."

She brightened up after getting the answer.

"It would be my pompompurin stickers!"

Chan leaped from her bed and began searching her drawers for the stickers, but all she found were empty sticker sheets. Her disappointment could be seen on her face right away.

"But, as far as I recall, I bought more than enough back then."

She contemplated whether she should go out and get her stickers or stay at home and get those the next day.

“Nah, I should get it today.”

Before hurrying into the store, she quickly put on her shoes and coat. She took a little break and took a sip of water from the bottle in her bicycle’s basket. Chan‘s gaze immediately wandered around the area.

"I had no idea these plants grew all over the city already," the breathless girl muttered as she dismounted her bike. She proceeded to kneel and lightly stroked the plants.

"Hey, picking plants is prohibited here," said a voice from nowhere.

Startled, Chan flinched, and accidentally picked the plant.

"What the hell, man," she said, clutching her chest.

"As I already made clear, collecting plants is prohibited here."

"I wasn't going to pick them!"

"Would you like to explain what you're holding?"

“Huh?” She mumbled and took a glance at her hand.

“What?” She looked at her hand once again and looked at the boy standing right in front of her. “I wasn't! Believe me! I was just stroking them and looking at them then you suddenly came out of nowhere and scared me—”

“Ma’am you violated the order.”

“What? No. This is a misunderstanding!” She asserted.

The guy pointed the poster with his finger.

“Picking wild plants around the area is restricted. If violated PHP 1000 penalty has to be paid” he read.

“What? 1000 PHP compensation? You've gotta be kidding me!” She crumpled her eyebrows. ”I told you, this is all a misunderstanding. Are you trying to exploit me?” Chan stood up.

“Uhm, no?” The boy stood there astonished.

“Then why are you putting pressure on me like this?” She interrogated.

“I wasn't putting pressure on you. You are pressuring yourself.” He answered back.

She sighed.

“I’m a minor, 17.” She explained.

“The penalty has to be paid regardless of the age.” The guy replied.

Defenseless, Chan grabbed her bag and searched for her wallet. Then, suddenly the guy started laughing.

“What’s up?” She asked seriously.

“I was just kidding—”

Before he could even finish his sentence, Chan smacked the guy with her bag.
