A New Creature in Town?

My pen scribbles notes on the paper as Professor Goldberg lectures.I feel a knee nudge mine and , I look to the left to meet my friend Ray's gaze.
I give a slight questioning frown and, she nods down toward my desk.
a protein bar sits next to my elbow. When the professor turns his head Ray whispers.
Rayleigh
You said you hadn't eaten lunch today and it's nearly 5 p.m.
Rayleigh
So eat up Esin. You've got to take better care of yourself!
I smile and shake my head fondly before I whisper back.
Esin
Thanks! Always looking out for me,huh?
she flashes a sweet smile, and I start to eat the bar
(I AM starving, and Professor Goldberg let's us eat in class so why not?)
Professor Goldberg
Ever since the vampiric and human races joined forces to fight the werewolves...
Professor Goldberg
..The two kinds are able to live in peace together , as we do today.
Student Girl
Yeah, especially in this town!
The professor of our cultural studies , "Human , Vampire and Werewolf Relations", smiles
Professor Goldberg
Quite true. Most of our nation and the world has separate Vampire and Human areas.
Goldberg has a casual, no hand-raising policy , so I speak up next.
Esin
It's because our town's founding couple was a vampire and a human
Esin
They wanted both their families in the same place. I like how integrated it is here.
a student sitting in front of Ray and I respond.
Student Guy
We shouldn't get too cozy though .It's not the natural order of things
Student Guy
And us vamps should never get it on with a human. It's just wrong!
The guy twists around, giving me a look his fangs flashing with his disgusted expression.

Talking About the "Creature"
Student Guy
Most residents in this twon are not so spiteful.But there are always exceptions!
Before I can retort, Ray's entire body tenses, and her own fangs protrude.
Rayleigh
I'd turn right back around if I were you Dave, and keep your mouth shut.
Her voice is deep and calmly menacing growl.
I can't help it, but her voice sends shivers down my spine-and not altogether unpleasant ones!
the boy's expression falters, fear glinting in his eyes. Then he turns around and shuts up.
Ray is seriously powerful even for a vampire, and everyone knows it.
Professor Goldberg clears his throat and adjusts his glasses.
Professor Goldberg
Well, while it's good to voice our different opinions,we DO want to keep it civil.
He laughs nervously and continuous on with his lecture.
Then my phone buzzes with an incoming news alert. I discreetly open the notification and look down.
My mouth drops when I see the image of a werewolf, furry ears and pointy teeth showing!
(It says there have been sightings of a werewolf in town, even around our campus!)
Esin
(Well, there are no werewolves here in the town.)
Esin
(It's better not to disturb his class or cause panic unnecessarily.)
So I ignore my phone ,slipping it back into my backpack and focusing ahead.
But then a girl in the front let's out a loud gasp.
Student Girl
Oh my God! I just got a news alert saying a werewolf is on the loose right here in town!
Student Girl
And there are even reports of an ATTACK just off-campus!
Esin
(Well, I guess this news won't be ignored until later afterall...)

Really?That is highly strange since werewolves never leave their territory south of here!
The next few moments are abuzz with everyone taking out their phones to see the news.
After studying his own phone screen, Professor Goldberg looks up.
Professor Goldberg
This is bad ,very bad indeed.But it's only one wild werewolf.
He looks around at all of us, trying to calm some of the more openly panicked students.
Several students have already bolted out of the room, and one is even terrified in tears.
Student Guy
So what if it is only one?
Student Guy
Werewolves are violent mongrels who will kill humans and vamps on-sight!
Professor Goldberg
Well, that statement is a little extreme.Werewolves can be volatile at times.
Professor Goldberg
But they aren't going to just go on killing spree and tear apart anyone on-sight!
Student Guy
How'd you ever know that since they never come to town?!
The boy doesn't wait for an answer and gets up to leave.
Student Guy
Whatever, I'm out of here!
He and a few more students leave and Professor Goldberg sighs.
Professor Goldberg
I suppose it's useless. Everyone, class dismissed!
Professor Goldberg
And please do as the news says:Be careful and contact the police at any sight of a werewolf!

(Ray and I exchange a wide-eyed look and then get up to leave)
