Prologue
"And You Were Just Like The Moon - So Lonely, So Full Of Imperfections. But Just Like The Moon, You Shine In Times Of Darkness."
Once There Was A Man Who Lived In The Moon. He Was Lonely. Nothing Except Him Existed On The Moon, And His Life There Was Almost As Normal As On Earth. Only That Everything Was Cold. And Pale.
Everyday he would sit down in front of his small cottage and stare down at the earth.
Oh, How he longed to be on earth just like how other humans were.
The Earth look simply divine from his point of view ; he wondered how grass felt like under his skin, how the rays of sun would keep him warm, how there would be life and love and everything a human needs to fill his emptiness.
He wished he could go back to earth.
The Man knew that people on earth knew about him, and he was pretty famous for being called "The Man In The Moon".
Unfortunately, unlike Jack Frost or Rumplestilskin. People were less interested in his fable.
But there was someone, a human on earth who was indeed very curious about him.
He noticed Her - Every night she would be sitting on her window with a telescope in her hand, trying to look for something on the moon. He knew she couldn't see him.
He observed her - every night she would carefully write down her thoughts and observations of the moon. She wrote letters to the moon.
She believed in the man in the moon.
And she knew, he was there, He always was.
But all He could do is smile, his heart sinking at the thought of not being able to reach her.
And she waited - She waited for an answer from him.
He thought it was weird but at the same time amazing - how a girl could fall in love with someone that was so far away and out of her reach.
This is the story of how the moon falls in love with a girl, and the sacrifices they made for each other, just for their love.
EVEN IF IT MEANT ONE OF THEM LEAVING ONE DAY.

Episode 1
" I Love You To The Moon And Back. "
The school bell rings and she was the first to dart out of the school gates, running through the crowd to get home.
Her heart was pounding ever so loudly, the adrenaline rush through her veins were running faster than any other fast object in the world. She was excited.
She swung the door open to her room and puts her bag away, sitting on the desk and stares at all the papers and pictures of the moon pasted on the wall in front of her.
The moon had always been her interest ever since she was young - she wondered how the moon had different faces everytime it changed. She wondered how the moon changes everyday.
The girl always dreaded that one night, the night of the new moon. The moon was nowhere to be seen and she felt uneasy at the sight of just starts painting the night sky.
But tonight, was her favorite night of all nights.
It was the night of the full moon.
She adored the sight of the full moon. The moonbeam shines down on earth, and the fact that it wasn't too bright like the sun or too dark just like the night sky made her think that the moon was perfect. The moon was her favorite.
SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH THE MOON.
There was one thing about the moon that she believes in - the man in the moon.
Based on other stories, the man in the moon was just about the moon that looks like it had it's own face.
But based on what she thinks, the man in the moon was the man who looks after all of us, who lights up the night sky to make us feel safe and secured, who flashes its' moonbeams through children's window as they sleep - keeping them away from danger and darkness.
People thought she was weird. Yes, that's was basically the reason why she had no friends at school.
But she didn't mind. For a weird girl like her, she's pretty strong.
Tragic stories of her past were normal for her. Her parents divorced, and her little brother Soobin went missing without a trace - his window left open by midnight.
It was the moon to help her get back on her feet. on the night her parents had their last fight, she was sobbing so loudly. it was the same night Soobin had disappeared. She was Alone.
On that night the moon shone brighter than usual that it actually blinded her eyes. The brightness diverted her attention.
On what was portrayed on the moon was a face. Smiling, with a small tear that escaped from it's eye.
It was like the moon understood what it felt like to be lonely.
The girl was very thankful for that.
Exactly at midnight, she snuck out of her window and climbed on the highest tip of her roof, with a piece of card tied to three balloons.
The moon was shinning so bright tonight and it was so beautiful. it was the perfect time to thank him, the man in the moon.
With a deep breath she lets go of those three balloons, watching as they fly up high to the sky.
She knows the letter won't reach him somehow, but wishing wouldn't hurt, right? She was just Thankful.

Episode 2
She was the human that he's been observing this whole time. It actually made him feel less lonely and warm, knowing that someone actually believed in him.
It gave him a little ; if not a little maybe a tiny spark of hope that he would have the chance to go back to earth.
He was no astronaut or alien. He himself doesn't know, how did he became "The Man in the moon"?
He just woke up finding himself trapped inside the moon, cold and alone and it made him scared, what if he dies in the cold?
And let me tell you, the clothes that he had in weren't the type to keep him warm it was a white tee along with jeans, and that was what he's been wearing this whole time.
The moon wasn't as bad as he thought, he found out that melting the lumps of ice kept him warm, and he shaped a few moonstones into a small home ; with just a bed and a chair.
The first few weeks in the moon were horrible, he was so bored that he thought he might actually die.
It took him weeks to think of what to do. There was nothing in the moon and he was alone. Surprisingly, living he's Life as the man in the moon never once made him hungry or thirsty. It suit his situation ; nothing in the moon was alive but him.
His new hobby was watching over humans. He gained interest in them, and wondered if he was human too.
Was He? He had the same facial features as the rest of them. He had the same body parts and the same skin. Only that he looked paler than other humans'.
He learned that humans eat and drink, which was slightly different from him. And that the sunlight was one of the main needs for humans, since it was their main source of energy.
He mused ; why would someone like him be situated in the cold place like the moon? Why wasn't there someone in the sun?
Tired if thinking, he gave up. He decides to go on with his life, living the same life everyday watching humans head out to work in the morning, then controls the light of the moon and makes sure that every spot on earth is at the very least dimly lit when night falls.
He learned that humans go to sleep at night, and very few stay awake. he himself gets sleepy too, but he stays awake anyway, and waits for the sun to rise before taking a short nap.
But these days, he barely falls asleep during the morning or night. he's gotten so interested in humans. Or a human, to be more specific.
She would be staring at him with her window open every night. She would be either telling him stories, or just taking a closer look at him through her telescope, or writes letters.
And the man in the moon ; he's never felt so warm before. It was like she was right by his side every night to fill his loneliness, like they would talk all night about themselves.
She told stories about herself to him. The girl came from a small family. she lives with her mom and ever since her little brother disappeared, she's been spending most of her time talking to him.
He knew about her brother, Soobin. On the night her parents were fighting, Soobin was crying. He was a kid, he didn't understand what was happening but he knew he wanted to run away.
AND SO PETER PAN TOOK HIM AWAY TO NEVERLAND, LEAVING HIS SISTER BEHIND.
The man in the moon felt sorry for her, she was crying again. So she flashed the light towards her direction, and smiled softly at her.
And as if getting his massage, the girl wiped away her tears and stopped crying.
He's been observing her for years. During the day the girl couldn't see him, he would stop and stare.
The man in the moon had never been so impatient waiting for nightfall, to just see the girl again, to listen to her stories.
THE BOTH OF THEM WERE SO CLOSE, YET SO FAR AWAY.
On the night of the full moon, he receives a letter from her.

He wanted to keep shining his light on her, to make her happy.
He wanted to return her thankfulness to him.
The urge to become a human on earth was slowly growing even bigger, day by day as he realizes the ugly truth.
