In a blink of an eye, my surroundings were hazy. The feeling was nostalgic, my surroundings seemed familiar yet rather distant.
The glaring light that covered my vision slowly died down as my surroundings became more clearer by the second.

I pressed the mail and it directly displayed a huge letter in what it seemed like ancient language.

I began to read the letter and after a few minutes I came to a conclusion.
So in short, Earth had collided with the abyss and the constellations can act as the human's/player's sponsors as quests or scenarios are given.
Constellations are able to sponsor players coins anytime, if they find some of the players to their liking.
Constellations are obliged to choose an avatar of their choice, to lend them some of the constellation's power as their skill with a 24 hour cool down and by doing this to increase their existential power.
But, it is entirely up to the player's decision whether to accept the constellation's offer.
Constellations can slowly increase their existential power by gaining followers and believers, but it must be done fairly and better if discreetly.
Scenarios and quests are controlled by the higher entities. Lower, intermediate constellations and higher constellations are all able to oversee the events on earth on various channels through different servers like the variety shows on Earth.
But this still doesn't explain what's a constellation??? And I still don't know what year it is.
I mean I've grasped the idea, but I still don't fully understand.
Then, I sensed something just right at the corner of a building.
Humans.
They must be players. I went over to find 3 people each carrying a weapon in hand and surrounding another person. It was very clear. They were bullying him, extorting and plundering his stuff.
Then, one of them kicked his abdomen causing him to fall on his knees. They still continued to kick and punch him. I felt my blood boil, I warped right behind them, grabbed one of them by the collar and threw him miles away.
"Yah. What were you guys doing?" I smile ironically.
"W-What the hell?? How did this bitch-" He took out his dagger aiming it instinctively at me.
"Oh we're dropping the honorifics already?" I smacked the dagger out of his hand and grabbed the two of them by their collar, one by each hand.
"H-How the-" They started struggling in my grasps. "Y-YAH PUT US DOWN YOU BITCH-"
"Hmm, you're 20? 21?" I smiled. "Oh kiddo, you would be calling me noona if you knew my actual age\~" Then after that very sentence, I threw them at the same direction I threw the first one.
I cringed at my own words. Ugh, so much for changing the way I talk.
I extended my hand and genuinely smiled at the guy, "are you able to stand?"
He shyly nod and grabbed my hand as I helped him to stand up. I secretly healed his wounds while helping him up.
"Thanks for saving me, Miss..?" He looked at me with a box-like smile.
Oh god, my eyes have been blessed. What a handsome looking guy..

"I'm Taehyung, Kim Taehyung." He smiled.
I asked Taehyung, "you must be a 'player', right?"
"Yup\~ And I don't even have to guess that you're a player too right?" He chuckled as I nodded while smiling.

He looked at me confused but smiled afterwards. "2020, are you from the future or something?" We both laughed.
"No no, I just.. travelled somewhere distant, without a sound from the world." I can't believe I've only been gone for a year while being in 2 different realms for more than 200 years..
"You must've travelled quite a distance for it to be isolated." He chuckled. "Though your attire does scream a 'high ranked player'. A black turtleneck, white high waisted pants with a black overcoat."
I just smiled but then realized the system window was still open in front of me. Can he not see it? Hmm.. by the way he's not reacting, I guess not.

He bursts into laughter, "you're quite a unique person, Y/n\~"

There was a slight pause before he continued.
"Many died along the way." His expression darkened.
It was silent after that, but I decided to break the ice.
"By the way, Taehyung. What's your level as of now?"
"Me? I'm level 4 swordsman right now\~"
"Oh really?" I smiled.

I went silent. That's true.

"Then let me ask both of you fine gentlemen," I smiled at them. "Why am I not allowed to enter?"
"We don't let the weak to enter nor outsiders with no registrations."

The campus was oddly clean and was filled with people chatting in groups.

Then suddenly, a weird-looking rabbit descended from the sky into the dome of the safe zone. Oddly, it was wearing a tuxedo with a big red bow tie and a top hat.
By the term weird, I meant it had a head of a rabbit and the body of a human.
It opened it's mouth to speak but no word could be uttered as it was heard as,「!&#@!&#@!?」
But then, it suddenly spoke in fluent Korean.

["I apologize for the inconvenience caused a while ago, the Korean translators weren't working."]
Everyone's attention was drawn to the floating rabbit as if that was something that happens normally.

Then the rabbit was cut off by a woman. "U-Uhm.. Mr. Guide..? Can I sit this one out? I just feel a little tired from some quests just now and also-"

The woman's head exploded in that mere second.
He's fast.
I started to be on my guard.
Everyone's jaw was ajar, but they looked away from the corpse, not batting an eye. Some were secretly panicking and some were breaking out in cold sweat.
Taehyung grabbed my hand tightly and pulled me behind him protectively while he's breaking in cold sweat.
"Stay behind me."
"Who's that?" I whispered.
"The guide. He's always the one to announce when the next scenario is starting."

The horde of monsters was running towards us from a distance.

Everyone on our side got ready and settled into their positions, including Taehyung.
"Y/n, stay behind me-"
"How many times are you gonna say 'stay behind me', Taehyung." I looked at him.
He flinched.
Then, I remembered that I don't have a weapon with me. Since the system is like a game, it should have an inventory.. I have nothing in it though.
I looked at the random dude beside me that was holding a spear.
"Bro, can you lend me your spear for a second? Thank you\~" I took it without letting him have a chance to speak.

I stride pass the crowd of players and stood my ground. I was at least a few good meters away from them as the horde of monsters were gaining closer by the second.

"Does she think she's some kind of superheroine just because she thinks she has a few skills?? That's a whole horde of monsters! She'll DIE!"
"Whatever, she'll most likely die before us. It's not my problem."
"She's a goner."
Then Taehyung shouted from that very distance.
"Y/N!!"
I tilted my head and glanced back at Taehyung.
"..Be careful." He wistfully smiled.
I chuckled and mouthed 'thanks'.
Then, the monsters were just a few meters away from me.
And when they were just a few centimeters away from me, in that very second, I swiftly swung the spear in a clockwise movement.
In that mere second, all the monsters that came my way, were halved.
I didn't even think of using the shaft as I reinforced the whole spear with mana.

The players were struggling with a few mere goblins. I guess all the small fry went to them when I was dealing with the orcs.
Well, I guess I can't blame them, They're still at the level of a beginner.. Their physique is only slightly better than an average human. And I shouldn't stand out too much.
I stabbed the orc beside me without batting an eye. Then I saw Taehyung, struggling with an orc all by himself.

In a blink of an eye, I appeared behind Taehyung.
I jumped into mid-air and used the spear to slash the orc extending a mana blade at the shaft, in front of him.

"But you dealt with the goblins just fine." I smiled.

I never knew constellations can have these kind of conversations with players.
"A-ANOTHER WAVE OF MONSTERS?!!!?" Another random guy shouted.
"N-No way..! They're bigger this time!!" The guy's companion panicked as everyone felt the same, panicked, worried.
"Taehyung, hold on for a second." Then I tightly gripped onto the pole of the spear, threw it with all my might and with mana reinforcing it.
The spear headed straight towards the wave of high grade monsters and pierced through their hard iron body. The spear was able to push them back and knock the rest down.
Everyone was looking at me.
I reached out my hand, the spear flew back and returned to my palms but there was something else I should worry about.
I glanced at the nothingness of the sky.
「 Host is using the skill Mysterious player [MAX] and which is being applied on the constellations. 」
「 Host is now being concealed from constellations surveillances. 」
"Y/n?" Taehyung looked at me innocently.
Of course, he can't see it. ;-;
Once again, I took the spear in my hands and ****** it into the ground. The sound produced was a loud 'CLANG!'
"Uh.. Y/n?"
"Give me a sec."
I held onto the spear with both hands and imbued my mana into it.
"Ignite."
A glare of bright light glowed from the spearhead and a second later, it released a full blown laser into the sky as it shoots up.
It hit the camouflaged camera near where the rabbit was, and also killed a flying wyvern that was about to slaughter the players, including the rabbit apparently.

Everyone was busy fending off the monsters to even notice.
In anger, the rabbit revealed himself and descended from above. ["What the hell did you just do."]

["Do you know how grave your situation is?"] He seemed really mad.

"How's the life of a streamer, Jojo?"

"You don't have to be wary, the constellations won't be able to listen to this conversation."
["How can I trust you, a mere player?? And is this information even reliable?"]

"Why don't you check your stream to see whether I'm lying or not." I smiled.

I whispered back. "Just watch."
The rabbit hesitated, but soon after, he checked his stream.
He then looked shocked at his screen.
"The constellations are only able to observe the other players,"
"and the weird looking cameras are not working on us either, right?"

"Before that, would you like to add me to your chat list?" I smiled mischievously.

He showed a disgusted face. ["You have a weird habit of smiling at the wrong timing."]
"I'll take that as a compliment." I smiled once again, annoying the rabbit.

["Of course, I'm not dumb enough to not cast one around us while you, a player, is talking to a guide without a care of the world."]
The rabbit gave me his ID and while I was adding him into my chat, I spoke.
"..And to answer your previous question," I looked at him with a stoic expression. "The system calls me the 'first mortal constellation', apparently."
Taehyung and the rabbit had their jaw hanging.

"Believe what you want to believe, I've said what you wanted to know."

His eyes crimsoned, showing that he's not fazed by my existence. It was as if he erased the fear he had of me being a constellation, despite me being a lower tier one.

I would never back down and cower to someone who dares threaten me.
The rabbit slightly flinched at my response.
My eyes had changed to a vertical slit of the pupil, showing the existence of a dragon within me.
"Let's not forget that I'm still a constellation, Jojo. Even lower tier constellations have higher authority than any other guide, am I right?"
"So I suggest to refrain from threatening me if you're not able to in the first place."
My eyes turned back to normal.
"Don't feel pressured. Just handle that killing intent of yours, I was able to sense it and you didn't even try to hide it."
The rabbit was speechless.
"Taehyung, by chance, did I scare you..?" I looked at him as I was worried. My taunts can paralyze a person who is not trained to do so.
"Ah, no no\~ I was just surprised, but I guess we're even." He chuckled.
"I guess so." I smiled.
I looked at Jojo, "so you've decided?"
The rabbit didn't utter a single word as he was avoiding eye contact with me, but suddenly..

Then, a window appeared in front of everyone, surprising me and Taehyung.

Then the ground shook.

The rabbit lifted the concealment barrier around the three of us and disappeared into the background.
"You dumb rabbit, I can still see you even with your concealment."

"I'll deal with you later." I said as the rabbit gulped.
"But before that."

The players were shaking in fear and some had already given up.

I held the daggers one on each hand and placed my right leg back as I positioned myself in the nick of the time.
Then, the pressure of both of the soles of my feet cracked the cement covered ground and I leaped onto the colossal.
With one invisible swing, its head flew the opposite direction.

That was... way easier than I thought it would be.

The players were confused by the headless corpse of the colossal ogre.

We both chuckled.
I bumped my head onto his back. "I still prefer to hide behind your back though, it's cozy."
I could feel his heart beating.

They sure have a lot of money if they donated to me like that.
Then I removed my head from his back and looked at him.

I chuckled at his reaction.

Then, an unexpected rumble of the ground caught all of us off guard.

Then, a hole appeared on the ground me, Taehyung and his friends stood.
Well all fell into the hole and landed with a 'thud'. The hole closed afterwards.
"..The hell?" My voice echoed as I dusted my clothes. I landed on my feet as I hovered a few centimeters above ground. My eyes wandered and looked at my surroundings, it was dark and chilly.
"You guys okay?" I looked at the guys that was piled against each other when they fell together.
They groan and Taehyung said, "Yep, never been better."

The rabbit appeared on the whim and scared the hell out of Taehyung's friends.
"Since when you used honorifics?" I looked at him.

A notification window then opened in front of everyone.

The ground shook for a mere second and eerie silence took over.

"Guys, I think we need to move forward." I said.

"Staying here will do nothing good. If you want to kill the first wave of mobs, we need to walk through the hallways."
"Y/n is right, let's go." Namjoon said as they followed him.
They walked in front of me and it was left me and Taehyung.
"Hmm? You're not following them?"
"I figured you'll follow them anyways, so I'll just accompany you for the time being." He chuckled.
"Fine, let's catch up to them." I moved my legs and walked side by side with Taehyung to the direction the boys were heading.
We caught up with them and followed from behind.
Then, the ground rumbled once again. We halted our tracks as it was getting uncontrollably louder by the second.
"What's going on??" Jin said, shouting.
"AHH-!!"
"What happened- JIMIN-SSI!! OH MY GOD WHAT THE HELL??" Yoongi shouted.
I looked at Jimin, the ground was sinking him. I sensed dimensional space magic.
So that's how it is.
"It's not quick sand. Look at your feet too, we're all getting sucked in." I said with a stoic expression. "Don't struggle, it's not a trap. Just let it be."
Now half of our bodies sank into the ground.
"How on earth are we supposed to 'leave it be'?? We're literally sinking to our deaths!" Namjoon said as he panicked.
"Hyung-"
"No, I get where he's coming from. But in situations like these, it would be best to have a clear state of mind instead of panicking."
"..She's right hyung." Jungkook said.
"And I've told you. It's not a trap, so don't worry."
"Hyung, I know you won't trust her, but you can just trust me. If you don't trust her, trust me." Taehyung said as if he was determined to put his life on the line.
I was somehow touched by his words.
When it was our heads that were left in the sinking ground, I said. "Be on guard on all times. we'll meet at the end of the path."
Then, darkness engulfed my vision.
I opened my eyes to see a narrow path with a dark never-ending hallway.
It's a new hallway.
I realized that it was only me and Namjoon.

A murderous intent from the front and back, but it was way too noticeable.. as if it was there on purpose.
Then, I sensed something from behind.

"Duck." In that split second, I held his head with my right palm and pushed his head down along with mine.
A crimson blazing arrow shot from behind, slightly above us as we duck.
"Stay low," I told Namjoon. He lightly nodded and listened to my instructions.
The arrow came from the front, but the real culprit is behind us.
A trickster type demon?
"Hey, you better come out while I'm being nice you lowlife."
No response.
"I said.."
"Come out."
While I said that, I conjured a flame arrow and throw it in the direction, behind me.
"KIEEKKK!!!!" A sharp wheezing scream was heard.
"You finally revealed yourself." A hideous looking monster on fours, with a disgustingly long tongue that had arrows strapped on its disturbingly boney waist emerged from the darkness.
「 Philosopher's eye [MAX] can be used on the target. 」
Oh? I don't need to use this for overall analysis, I already know most of it's characteristics just from my experience alone.
But I guess it's fine if I'm lazy sometimes ;-;
"Surprisingly, you have no eyes but quite keen senses."
"Too bad you weren't able to dodge that one huh." I referred to the wound on his chest caused by my flame arrow.
"SCREEEEEE!!!!!!" It was mad, and it started getting into position while baring its claws and slithering its tongue.

I glanced at Namjoon and he looked terrified. He was petrified in his position, shaking uncontrollably. He tried to stand and resist the area of effect skill.
"You okay, mate?" I asked Namjoon, who is barely holding on.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I can't let you kill this thing on your own."
I smiled at his courage. He has the guts.
"GRRRAAHH!! SCREEEE!!!!!"
"Enough with the useless chit chat, you're scaring my friend here." I raised my hand and cancelled the taunt effect emitting from the beast. I could see Namjoon ease up a little.
"I don't know why I'm talking to a monster that can't even communicate properly, but you seem to understand what I'm saying."
"If so, let's end this quickly shall we?"
The hideous beast growled and pounced as arrows are useless in close combat.
It's fast, considering we're cramped in this narrow hallway.
I inserted my hands into my inventory and drew out my daggers and slice through its stone hard body as it approached me.
My daggers grazed it, I relied on my strength and pierced through it's fairly stone hard skin. I repeatedly sliced it, a thousand accurate strikes in a second.
I barely moved from my spot and all that's left is the monster's remains in unrecognizable pieces.

It was worth quite the amount of coins and exp, it looked like it was around.. A+ rank? If I was any weaker than I was 300 years ago, I would've been slightly injured.

I ignited my right hand with a blueish-violet colored flame.
I signaled him. "Let's go, we have to meet up with the others."
The whole walk was silent, we did not try to talk to each other and it was an awkward atmosphere.
Then he was the one who speak up.
"You were cool back there." He said, his gaze at the dark front hallway with his face slightly tinted with the light from the flickering blueish-violet flame.
"Thanks.."
"And sorry."

"No no, it's totally understandable, given at the situation we were in."
Then silence took over.
"Is something troubling you?" I asked as I looked at Namjoon.
"You've guessed it almost immediately." He chuckled.

I heaved a sigh and looked at him with a small smile. "Whatever your worries are, just don't stress over it too much. Trust me, I've got it from experience."
"It's wiser to keep your head straight and bare no regrets in decision making," I divert my gaze back to the front. "Being a leader in this kind of ruin world now, must be hard. You've done a great job, Namjoon."
He chuckled. "You talk as if you've lived for a couple centuries."
"But thanks.." He smiled wistfully. "Your parents must be proud of you."
There was a pause before I began to speak.
"I don't have parents."

I smiled and started telling him the story of my parents.

I paused for a while. I guess I can tell him some bits and parts, I can tell that he's good with secrets.

He nodded.
"While they're at it, let's deal with the big ones first." I threw the violet-blue fire to the front as it lit the torches on the way and revealed myriads of crimsoned pairs of eyes in the darkness, the number was roughly around a hundred.
I looked at Namjoon. "You up for it?"
He smirked and said, "with you, I guess it won't hurt to try."
"I see that your fear you had is gone."
"Let's say that I'm more reassured now, well, because you're here."
I immediately casted a reinforced mana barrier around him while I boost his strength and agility temporarily. "This should do."
A bright yellow glow emitted from him.

"Yes madam!" He smirked as he grabbed his shield and short-sword.
