Mario: Come in Helena

Helena: Sorry for interrupting

Mario: You didn't interrupt, this is Otavio Gutierrez, Otavio this is Helena.

Helena: Nice to meet you sir.

Otavio: The pleasure is mine.

Helena: How can I be of assistance?

Mario: Sit down, I have a mission for you.

Helena: A mission? I'm about to go on vacation.

Otavio: Doctor, my son had an accident and lost the use of his legs, the doctor said he's paralyzed, five months ago he had two surgeries, now he needs a physiotherapist.

Helena: Have you asked for help from other doctors?

Otavio: Yes, but they told me he wouldn't be able to walk again, I talked to a very good surgeon, he said he has a chance to walk again but he needs the treatment or he will be like this forever. My son is a bit difficult, he blames himself for the accident and he's struggling to cope, he kind of resists the treatment.

Helena: I'm about to go on vacation, I can't help him right now, besides your son needs to want it.

Otavio: Please, I will pay whatever it takes, I will pay for your vacation but I beg you, please help us, I have called all the doctors and only you are left. My son needs help or he won't be able to walk anymore.

Mario: I will pay for your vacation Helena, after this you can take a few months off as a reward.

Otavio: Please Doctor.

Helena: Ok, I will help your son but I need him to help me too, I can't force him to want it.

Otavio: That's going to be a little difficult but not impossible.

Helena: Leave me your address and tomorrow I'll go there.

Otavio: Thank you very much, thank you.

Helena leaves the office, she goes to her office and grabs her things to leave, she already knew the last name Gutierrez but she didn't know he had a son in this situation.

Upon arriving home, her parents were in the living room, her sister Helen goes up to her and hugs her.

Helen is 20 years old, she took over their father's company, it was supposed to be Helena's right but since she refused, Helen took over, they've always gotten along well, they are best friends.

Helen: Can I shout "welcome vacation" now?

Helena: Don't talk to me about vacations.

Helen: Don't tell me they canceled your vacation?

Helena: A last-minute patient showed up.

Helen: Oh no.

Eva: Daughter, can't you fight for your rights?

Helena: I ended up accepting, there was no other way, he might lose his ability to walk.

Leonardo: But are you only going to treat him?

Helena: I'll see, Mr. Gutierrez needs me so I postponed my vacation.

Eva: Gutierrez?

Leonardo: Gutierrez?

Helena: His son needs physiotherapy, I start tomorrow.

Leonardo: So William agreed, be patient my daughter because he's not at all friendly.

Eva: I'm sure you'll do great.

Helena: Helen, can you bring dinner to my room, I'm tired.

Helen: Sure.

Helena goes up to her room, she takes a shower and lies down to rest for a while, her mind is racing with thoughts, something tells her it won't be easy.

An employee brings her dinner to the room, Helena eats and rests.

Episode 2

The following day, Helena performs her hygiene routine, gets ready, goes down to the living room to have breakfast with her family, and leaves. Helena has her own car, so she went alone. She put the address in the GPS and went to the Gutierrez mansion.

Helena rings the doorbell, a woman who seemed to be an employee opens the door. Helena enters, Otavio comes to her very happily.

Otavio: Doctor, thank you for coming.

Helena: Just Helena, please.

Otavio: Then call me Otavio.

Helena: That's fine.

Otavio: Would you like some coffee?

Helena: Thank you, but I already had some at home. If you don't mind, I would like to meet your son.

Otavio: Of course, come with me. He's in the garden.

Helena follows Otavio to the garden. A handsome man is sitting in a wheelchair, reading. They approach slowly, and Otavio calls to him, but he continues reading.

Otavio: Don't be childish, William.

William: What do you want?... continues looking at the book

Otavio: The doctor I told you about has arrived.

William: Then dismiss her. She wouldn't want to waste her time, would she?

Otavio: Act like a man, William. Don't you think she could be helping other people instead of being here and listening to this nonsense? How embarrassing.

He then turns the wheelchair and looks at Helena. She is wearing a white coat, her hair in a bun, a natural face without any makeup, jeans, and a white printed blouse. William swallows hard but soon no longer cares. He looks her up and down, trying to intimidate her, but she remains the same, normal and calm.

William: Doctor, I regret to inform you that I don't need your help. My father will show you out.

Otavio: William!!

Helena: That's alright... looks at Otavio... can we talk, Mr. William?

William: I don't think we have anything to talk about, Doctor.

Helena: I think we do.

William: Then tell me.

Helena sits on a bench in front of him and speaks softly.

Helena: Mr. William, I came here willingly to help you. I cleared my schedule while there are people who really want help. Let's not waste time. You have a chance to walk again, don't waste this opportunity to do everything you enjoy.

William: Spare me your speech. Do you think I want to live this shitty life? Go back to your patients, you're wasting your time, Doctor. I don't care about this treatment or your patients.

Helena: I won't speak to you as I would to a child. We are adults, but since you have a small mind, I think it's better to speak to you as if you were a child. How can you talk about life like this? We all have problems, and there are people in worse situations than you.

William: Do you know who you're talking to?

Helena: Yes, to an immature man who doesn't want to face his problems head-on. Do you think staying in that wheelchair is helping? No, your heart is beating, you're here talking to me. Your problem isn't going away or being solved.

I gave up my vacation to be here and help you. Your arrogance won't make me leave. Thank God you're alive and can walk again. Apologize for your arrogance and ingratitude. Many people would like to be in your position, in terms of being able to walk again. Now, I'm using your arrogance, so don't waste your time because I'm not leaving.

Don't speak about my patients or life as if it's unfair. You're alive, so live life with intensity.

Otavio, can I use your office?

Otavio: Of course.

Otavio is speechless, William is very irritated because no one has ever spoken to him like this. Her audacity is too much for him. He goes to the office, and Otavio laughs after snapping out of his trance. He accompanies William to the office. Helena is placing some things on the floor, and William grabs her arm tightly, giving her a nasty look. Helena looks at her arm and then at him.

William: Who do you think you are?

Helena: Helena, your physical therapist. Shall we begin?

Helena releases her arm from his grip, he becomes increasingly irritated, even though he doesn't want to, she takes his chair to the center of the room and leaves him next to her. He tries to leave but she locks the wheels, Otavio looks on, laughing. His wife appears and stands beside him, while William grumbles like an old man, making his parents laugh because Helena acts naturally.

Helena asks questions, but he doesn't respond. She smiles as if it were a child's tantrum, she grabs his leg and stretches it. William has nothing else to do, so he sighs irritably.

Helena: Be careful, stress is bad for the heart. I'm going to ask you some questions, I hope you answer.

Helena lifts the leg of his pants up to his knee and touches it with the tip of a pencil.

Helena: Can you feel it?

He remains silent, looking to the side. Helena asks again, but he doesn't respond. She presses the pencil and he looks at her irritably.

William: Are you crazy?

Helena: Excellent, that was a sign that you can feel it.

Helena touches his foot, she touches his toes but he doesn't move.

Helena: Can you feel this?

William: No... he says irritably.

Helena: How about here?... she touches his knee.

William: A little, hardly anything.

Helena: Can you move your hip?

William: A little.

Helena: Okay, let's go slowly. It may be a little uncomfortable, but it's normal. I'm going to help you, Mr. William, but I need you to help me too, otherwise you will feel pain.

Otavio: He will help.

Helena: Today, we're going to do some stretching. Tomorrow, I'll help you get up from the chair.

William: No way.

Otavio: He's in pain.

Helena: You will feel pain, Mr. William, but you need to try. I'll help alleviate the pain and give you some medicine. I can't perform miracles, so you need to help me too.

Episode 3

Helena stretches him again, she grabs a ball and places it under his legs, making them go back and forth. He makes some faces but Helena waits for him to want to stop.

She takes a five-minute break and starts again. William puts his hand on his knee, and Helena stops immediately.

Helena: Is it hurting?

William: What do you think?

Helena: Okay, let's stop. I'll help relieve the pain... massages, providing relief ...even though it hurts, you need to continue, but only if it's bearable, of course.

William: Is it over?

Helena: No, I'll give you some pain medication.

Helena writes down the name of a painkiller and hands it to Otavio. William watches as she applies a gel to his knee. He can't feel it, but he knows she is doing it gently. She applies it to his knees and feet, unlocks the wheelchair, and looks at him.

Helena: We're done for today. We'll continue tomorrow. From what I can see, no one died, Mr. William.

He leaves the room with a cold mood, and Helena tidies up her things. Otavio approaches her and holds her hands.

Otavio: Thank you so much. You have no idea how long I've been waiting for this.

Helena: He'll be fine. I apologize for my words.

Otavio: You handled him well. I trust you. Thank you.

"This is my wife Juliana. Honey, this is Helena, the angel who came into our lives."

Juliana: Thank you for staying even after seeing that side of him. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Helena: I'm just doing my job.

Juliana: Have lunch with us.

Helena: No thank you. I have to go. I have an appointment.

Juliana: Alright, see you tomorrow.

Helena: Goodbye.

Helena goes to her car, packs her things, and leaves.

She parks at a restaurant and goes straight to a table.

Helena: Hi.

Mateo: Hey beautiful, took you long enough.

Helena: Sorry, I was working.

Mateo: No problem, I understand. Choose what you want.

Helena looks at the menu, places her order, and shifts her attention back to him.

Mateo is a surgeon. They met at the hospital. Mateo started getting closer to her, but Helena didn't want anything. He continued to insist, surprising her and showering her with affection. Until one day, she decided to give him a chance. They have been going out for a few months; it's not a relationship, but Mateo already considers it as such.

Helena likes him. She is focused on her career and, because of that, she hasn't taken things further. She has always respected him and enjoys being with him.

Mateo: What about your vacation?

Helena: I have no idea when it'll be.

Mateo: Why don't you take your vacation with me? We can travel. I'm leaving in a few months.

Helena: If I'm done by then, we can do that, alright?

Mateo: Deal.

Want to sleep at my place tonight?

Helena: Sure.

Mateo: Great.

Helena: Pick me up at home?

Mateo: Yes. I have two surgeries to perform, so when I'm finished, I'll swing by your place.

Helena: Okay.

They have lunch and spend some more time together. Helena goes home to rest, while Mateo goes to the hospital to work.

Helena spends the afternoon resting. Helen enters her room and opens the door.

Helen: Chocolate cake... shows the plates

Helena: I want some.

Helen: How was your day?

Helena: Other than Mr. William's arrogance, it was all smooth. He has a chance of walking again.

You know, today I said some things I shouldn't have. I was rude because he didn't want the treatment and was very arrogant. I've never been like that before. I regret it.

Helen: With an excellent doctor like you, anyone would get better soon. Don't be like this. If you're sorry, apologize and lift that weight off your shoulders. Our father warned us it would be difficult.

Helena: I know, but I'm not like this. I'll take care of it tomorrow.

Helen: Is he handsome?

Helena: I don't go around judging people's looks, Helen.

Helen: Oh, come on, Helena. Is he handsome or not? You don't have to flirt to know.

Helena: Yes, he's handsome, okay? You know the Gutierrez family is good-looking.

Helen: Was his brother there?

Helena: No, he doesn't live here, right?

Helen: I thought he had already returned.

Helena: You seem very interested, don't you think?

Helen: He sent me an email saying he wanted to discuss business. I thought he had already come back.

Helena: I can already see this is going to be trouble. Behave yourself.

Helen: Haha, I will.

Helena: I have to take a shower.

Helen: Are you going out?

Helena: I'm going to sleep at Mateo's house.

Helen: Are you still with him?

Helena: Why don't you like him?

Helen: It's not that, I have nothing against him, it's just that I think you're not in love with him.

Helena: Why do you think that?

Helen: Because you haven't even admitted it, I don't see that spark of being in love in your eyes. I believe you like him, but you don't love him.

Helena: I never said I love him, but I like him, I like being with him. Love is something that is built gradually.

Helen: Okay, I just want you to be happy.

Helena: Okay.

Helen leaves, Helena takes a shower, gets ready, and receives a message from Mateo. She goes downstairs and finds him.
