I was watching from a far hoping things will change

me and my family were commoners and very poor and king methi never helped one of us commoners were can call ourselves slaves.

the only thing all nobles are waiting for is to get picked as queen by king Felix most commoners never get picked but if

if your lucky u might get picked as concubine

my family was getting my step sister ready

and brought her wonderful clothes and shoes and my job was to clean our small house so the king might notice it

I only had one day to decorate the house so I worked early in the morning till late at night.

I felt it was no use either ways the was no chance my family would get picked but I still did as my step mother said. because if we get picked it might be the my only chance to get a big feast that I've had in a long time

I woke up a bit late I heard that the king was

already in our village

I quickly got ready and went to start cooking 🍳

when I was done cooking I prepared myself

and got dressed

I went downstairs and saw that merry was

wearing wonderfully

one of her many dresses I thought to my self

then i went and waited at the gate with the family

with same families waiting at their gates

then we waited for the king to approach our house gate

I saw the king from a far distant 4 yards away I hated him more when he got closer it's because of him and his family me and my family are slaves and suffer every day and sometimes sleep with an empty stomach

but I had no choice but to serve him

we waited about 4 hours

the moment the king came to approach us

I started to boil with anger I knew if he saw me

looking this mad merryan won't get a chance to

become concubine

so I started to look away if only I knew that will

only seek the kings attention

he saw me from a far while my step mother

and father were welcoming him

in my thoughts- why do we go to so much trouble to welcome people that treat us as slaves

and do care about our well-being

I did not hear father calling my name for the

king Wanted to see me.

I calmed my self and went to see the king

in my thoughts while am going to meet the king

-why are we slaves we work very hard for everything we had all the nobles and royals should be slaves not us
