Jung Min-Ji
"I'm tired of this, I don't care if I get lost!"
Jung Min-Ji
"I need to leave, I won't take one more abuse from their hands!"
Jung Min-Ji
"I need to get out of here, and fast..."
She stood up and ran to her room, gathering her belongings; those that would be easy to travel with.
Her foster mother was upstairs, and her foster father was at work. So it was the perfect time to leave.
She grabbed her bag and ran out of the house. Not even turning back to look at the place she called Hell...
Min-Ji was in her room sleeping peacefully, dreaming about a place full of hope and freedom...
But that didn't last long. Her foster mother waltz into the room, waking Min-Ji up with her screeching voice.
Foster Mother
"Wake up, Min-Ji! Your chores aren't going to get themselves done."
Min-Ji sat up in her bed as her foster mother slammed the door shut.
Although she wished it was different, this was how her life was... Min-Ji stood up from her bed and got ready for the new day.
At her foster home she wasn't treated as a child should have been. The moment she stepped foot into this building, she became a slave and a maid.
At some pint she stopped taking care of herself. She didn't care about the state she was in. Min-Ji didn't even see a reason to live...
I didn't take long before her negative thoughts came back to haunt her, remind her how she longed to be free...
The thought of no longer having to live through her miserable live hanging in the back of her mind...
Min-Ji was suddenly pulled put of her thoughts, her foster mother's voice ringing in her ears...
Foster Mother
"Get up and head to the store, the list of what I need is on the counter. Don't get anything that's not on the list , you better be back before sun down, If you know what's best for you..."
After hearing a yes ma'am, she left Min-Ji's room. Min-Ji didn't waste time, and left as soon as she was dressed in some leggings and a worn out T-shirt.
As she was returning home, the sight of an elderly woman trying to cross the road caught her eye.
She jogged over to her and helped her cross the road, carrying her grocery bags and most of the elderly ladies bags.
Before Min-Ji could walk away after helping the elderly woman. Min-Ji heard her say in a low yet clear tone of voice,
Elderly Lady
"You're a blessed young woman, and a bright future awaits you. Life is made of horrible obstacles, but don't allow evil to prevail. Use what is deep inside you And you will surely find your way if you're ever lost."
Min-Ji looked at the lady in a weird way. The time completely slipping her mind, as the elderly lady pointed to her necklace.
Elderly Lady
" That necklace around your neck is something special. Don't ever lose it, keep it with you, and you'll soon find your way to your destiny."
"What was the elderly woman talking about ?! And how could she know I had a necklace on, that's hidden underneath my shirt." Min-Ji thought.
Her necklace was given to her by her birth mother, so many yeas ago. Her mother had to give her up for unexplainable reasons.
At least that's what the adoption agency told her when she was a little girl.
As she was about to question the elderly woman, she realized that the sun was a few minutes away from setting.
She ran as fast as she could. She even took of her shoes and ran like her life depended on it.
But all her efforts weren't even close to being enough... The sun has set, and she was now in trouble.
As she walked inside Min-Ji saw her foster mother in the kitchen, and her foster father was sitting in the living room on the couch.
No doubt, waiting for her. He stood up as he spoke, his tone of voice one that Min-Ji knew all to well.
Min-Ji couldn't look him in the eye. She glued her gaze to the floor, fumbling over her words as she tried to plead for her life.
Jung Min-Ji
please don't hurt me
Jung Min-Ji
I didn't mean to be late, I swear.
Jung Min-Ji
I was helping an old lady cross the street, and I lost track of time.
She stuttered, trying to find more words to save herself. But her foster father didn't care what made her late; he only cared about her breaking his rules
He took of his belt, the noise making Min-Ji flinch. She knew what cane next, tears running down her cheeks...
After that little yet familiar noise... Words weren't said, actions and force were used.
Tears were shed, screams were heard, bruises were made, and a new trauma was what she had experienced that night
Min-Ji walked to her room, pain coursing through her veins and all over her body
She slowly cleaned herself in the shower, the water turning red as it went done the drain.
Why did her mother abandon her ?! What was the cause of all this?! Why was she experiencing this hell?
Mini couldn't understand, she didn't even want to understand. All she wanted was her freedom, and it seemed like the world was against that.
Her sobs and the sound of the old fan in her room were her lullaby as she drifted of to sleep
A few days passed by and some of her bruises healed. It wasn't any easier for her, having to continue living and working as if nothing had happened to her
Most left scars, not getting any sort of treatment to help her. But that was normal for her, she just had to walk on eggshells, hoping that she won't get beaten again in the same week
As soon as she could walk properly again, she began to plan her escape. She didn't want to spend another second in the house, but she needed to plan things through if she was ever going to successfully run away.
2.*
As she walked through the park with her bag, she found a bench near a streetlamp and sat on it.
It was turning dark by the minute, the air was getting colder and the park had onely a few people in it. By the time the sun had completely set, she was the only on left in the park.
Min-Ji began to tremble, having a thin long sleeved shirt on, a pair of old sweatpants and shoes.
The cold began to bother her nose, the metal of her necklace felt like ice on her skin. The cold having urged her to take off the necklace for a while.
Her head began to spin as she coughed, he clothes suddenly felt scratchy on her skin. Wanting to get some rest, she curled into a ball trying to keep herself warm.
A few minutes have gone by, before she was awakened by the rain heavily pouring down. Having set up to fast, her temple began to throb painfully.
As shaky gasp left Min-Ji's lips as she realized what was happening to her. Her heat had started, and she hadn't even noticed...
She quickly reached underneath the bench where she had placed her bag, but it was no longer there... She frantically looked around, but there was no one in site
Tears sprung to her eyes, she couldn't believe her belongings were stolen. This left her without food, clothes, but also without money.
The painful warmth of her heat completely enveloped her body, inducing her into a deep sleep. The rain and cold winds providing little to no help in relieving her pain.
???
"My cute bear, forgive me. I didn't want to leave you behind, but I was left with no choice."
???
"My world is a dangerous one, and your father doesn't want you... He has abandoned us both..."
???
"I will only bring you into a destructive home if I keep you with me."
the woman turned her head around as she saw some people running towards her. Fear filled her mind, but determination was in her heart...
???
"Please keep her safe. Whatever it takes, until your last breath, swear to me that you'll keep my child safe."
the person she was talking to swore as the baby was handed to them. As soon as they held the baby securely, they ran through a secret path and into the starless night.
The person didn't even look behind them, the sound of secret tunnel collapsing behind them indicating that they'll never see her again.
Min-Ji opened her eyes, but closed them back immediately; the bright light in the room blinding her.
Cold sweat and fear surrounded her as she began to look around her, hoping that she wasn't found by her foster parents.
3.*
Min-Ji tried to make sense of hiw she was wherever she was. She had never seen thus place before l, meaning she had been taken by a complete stranger
She hugged her legs, light footsteps filling her ears outside the room she was in.
The door of the room opened, and in walked a man
???
"Ah, you're finally awake. I made this for you in case you woke up."
???
"It's full of healing herbs to help you get better and heal your wounds..."
the unknown man placed his hand on Min-Ji's forehead, causing her to flinch away. She didn't know who he was, and she couldn't trust him.
???
"Your fever seems to be gone. And the suppressants I gave you a few nights ago has done its job, your heat seems to be gone now."
Min-Ji simply kept on looking at the man, thinking what he could want from her; having taken care of her like he has done...
???
"You don't have to be afraid of me, I won't poison you if that's what you're thinking. If I wanted you dead, then I wouldn't have saved you three nights ago."
Jung Min-Ji
"Why did you save me ? You don't even know me..."
???
"That night, I saw you in the Park on my way home. You were laying unconscious in the rain..."
???
"You were almost taken advantage of by a pack of southern wolves, I couldn't just let that happen to someone knowing that I could do something about it."
Jung Min-Ji
"But how could you have seen me when I was in the deepest part of the park. Simple humans can't find that place..."
???
"I would be lying if I didn't say it was your pheromones, they drew me to you. It took all my strength to not..."
Jung Min-Ji
"I understand, thank you for saving me. And for keeping me safe..."
