'How much time do you still need' I asked Alice with a tad of sadness in my voice .After all ,when the portal will open I'll be seeing her for the last time . God knows how long it will be. Don't want to cry about it, don't want her to see me like that when we part . But all of this ,everything ,starting now ,will be to saver her.

'Just a few minutes and the space time system will give away' she says ,void of any emotion.Still i know ,how hard must she be trying to hide her emotions coz that's exactly what i'm doing right now.

It's a few minutes, hmmm, then let me take that time to explain to you guys (readers) what's going on in here.

My name is Royce Starling and I am a wizard. of course, I was not born this way .I was just your ordinary High-School guy until my awakening on my 18th birthday. Alice chose me as her champion, as her apprentice. She came to our world from a magical dimension which got plunged into chaos by the dark lord's Prince.

Alice and I made a deal. A blood contract. Magic powers on the cost of helping her and accomplishing tasks that are consented by both. All my life I waited for some sign,... for my calling........ and this was it, regardless of the demerits.

For almost an year I took every ounce of my strength and soul and poured it into learning magic while discovering many surprising facts and doing the task that followed.

However the ultimate goal is to prevent the three worlds namely Duro ,Halo and Zato to fall into the hands of the Dark Prince .

Right now we're in the ocular dimension which is one of the alices' supreme awakening powers, trying to open a fabric that leads to the world of Duro .

One world at a time baby !!!!! .....or maybe not..... I thought to myself ,since the possibility of failure was even greater when charging into unknown territory.Well how hard can it be, you know, go through the portal ,kick some dark ass ,come back through the world and yaaayyyy,, you just saved a damned world.

'Heads up, here it comes' Alices' voice boom while she pours all of her mana into the ritual altar to force open the portal .The fabric tears up and things become visible.

kachaaaakk...... suddenly more fabrics open up around us in the pocket dimension and creatures started to slowly creep in. 'We're red' (detected by the system) i yelled over the swirling and whistling of energy rushing in and out of the portals. The creatures also known as sentinels are gaurds for the cyber lord of time and space. I jump start the 'Seven Dragon Light Array' made specially for intruders in our precious and private ocular dimension and it comes to life with inhuman speed .It starts to churn the sentinels while the (Duro) fabric opens enough for me to pass by .I look back to see Alice for the last time and as as I do a Black Ray hits me hard on my forehead. While 90% of the impact gets absorbed by my armour of air ,a fraction still hits me hard enough to makes things around me into a whirlwind of slow motions .I can see one of the dragon's head striking the last Sentinel, the fabrics of cyber lord shimmering and closing and Alice mutely sobbing while controlling the portal exit with the last of her mana reserves. My body flips through the air while I fall helplessly and see the things taking shape beneath me .Suddenly my senses come back to normal, my adrenaline pumps up and my adventure in Duro .....begins..

Recap - Sentinels attacked me and alice while we were trying to open up the fabric of time-space.I saw alice for the last time and fell theough the rift after a dark ray hit me.

Now - Just a few seconds later my senses returned to normal and i started pouring mana into my stem cells.As i fell, i started to make things out with my heightened senses.There was smoke chiming out of the ground and fire ,definitely fire .Even with my heightened senses it was difficult to see cause i was in a state of utter chaos as i fell like a crashing helicopter desperate for some control.Well that and i am afraid of falling.Nightmares always had their way with me, ending with falling death.Anyhow focusing in the general direction i saw a contingent of troops and a good amount at that ,passing through a narrow forest path.'it's now or never ' i thought to myself and performed the incantations for free fall and levitation .Last but not the least invisibility for surprise attacks if needed.I got into the area just above the smoke and saw two parallel lines of fire, cutting through the narrow vertical line of troops in a horizontal way which kept only but two wagons and a handful of guards between the lines.( yeah that got over your head).Till now I had managed to get just over the wagons and in a suitable position to launch a surprise attack. 'Bandits incoming'..."Protect The king" yelled one of the men close to the wagons and suddenly riders started streaming in ,and with that, the battle started .Anyway, i needed time to charge my mana full from the krelium rods which also act as batteries.I've 5 of them and they can almost store half of my mana .The vangaurd and reargaurd soldiers were trying to put out the fire in vain cause as someone wanted to leap inside they were either killed by the flames or by the archers hiding in the thicket of forest trees .I charged my mana up and performed the incantations for air armour and lightening storm while the battle ensued.Saving the king just when i stepped into the kingdom ,it indeed could not have been better for me to earn some favour from someone of big standing while this was the whole exclusive deal right there for the taking.But people were dying so i felt a pang of guilt and hurried down which resulted me to go into halt midair.Why ,because the person and the girl from the wagon presumably the king and maybe the princess ,...well shes' cute by the way,..heightened senses baby .....hehe, but duty before beauty ,

and then it hit me. Six people in all were on their knees with swords or daggers on their throats and likewise vital areas.The situation turned from bad to worse while i was performing my incantations discreetly ...(conjuring lightening storm takes some time)..I could save one with surprise on my side but 5 of them would surely die ,since the bandits were really good at what they did if, they got them this fast with only a couple of losses.Shit,is the battle really over before i could do anything ?I had no spells that could save them all at once ,i'm a wizard not a god and my magic too ,had limitations.So much for getting favours.....eh?

Authors' note - grizzly situations can surely bring anyone to give up.But no matter the odds the hero always rises from the aftermath. Powers shown thus far by our little hero are - levitation,invisibility,free fall,air armour ,lightening storm andddd a pinch of coolness.hehe see ya nxt time pretty readers...tata
