...Sometimes it brings happiness, sometimes sadness. Sometimes it takes you on the top, sometimes it makes you to lose hope. It brings horror, and humour parallel. But these things are not going to let you stop from your destiny, no matter what.......even if this destiny is so hateful....

Life let you meet make many tough decisions which might bring you near death but... sometimes, it means nothing when you're already in hell.

Just like that, love means nothing when trust is nothing.. But the story which I'm going to share, is not something that will show you some worldly affairs and affections.. It's something which will always and forever haunt me down to my deepest memory who has never knew what this love actually means.

I don't know if I know well the reason behind these words but just like every coin has two sides, in the same way love has two sides : good and bad.

However in this human society, I'm such a pathetic human who has experienced the worst side of this Love.

Used, betrayed and despised; I know very well how these feelings thorns us in hearts. But I don't have anyone to trust.

...Only I can... trust my fate to kill me. Just like how he killed me emotionally... However, some hearts are meant to be broken, right? It clashed, only to leave shattered pieces scattered around....

He manipulated me in his fake love and took away my child, Iris....I was so blinded in his fake kindness which forced me to leave every dearly beloved of mine and I did it without giving it any single thought.

So many years of nurturing Iris, she never forget to ask about her mother. But it has never came into her mind about her father's relations with her mother.

...A child needs a lot of attention and happiness in its childhood. And, with such a good environment, happiness just doubles....

I'm Iris Kane; a student. My life is like a free spirit with no bounds. But this is my true self I guess, I can't ignore it.

I live in Marlborough city. I am 19 years old youth with higher hopes. But hopes can be crushed easily if not remained careful in this evil world.

It was my Father who remained with me since my birth. He always says that I'm so special; yeah, no doubt in every family, their is a living star.

However, this means different in my case. It's really strange for father to still treat me like a princess. His name is Belmont Roukema Kane — Such name, I've never heard of it anywhere.

It has been 10 years since we've left our native place and shifted to Marlborough. I live with freedom with my loving dad...... But the truth is- I don't have mom with me.

My father said that she died in a car accident after two years of my birth. It's so bad that I don't got the love from my mother. I am such an hopeless girl. I'm all broken to find her missing in my heart.

I'm so afraid to lose my father too. So, neither I want him to leave me nor he wants, he is my only hope and life. But I know that, he'll never leave me.

Also, he never forced me to do anything. I live in a free environment.

But father always says to me; be aware.

I'm really glad that he cares but, in a strange way. Though he's my father, I never get to see his true self — his demeanor is mysterious.

Whatever the real reason is, I'm glad that I've such a great father.

Aside from that, I study in a prominent school where I've met many good students and great teachers. I've my two best friends - Harry and Daisy. I love to spend my spare time with them. They have all those qualities of a friend that I need. But sometimes, Harry also behaves so blind, also sounds mysterious; so like my Dad, which scares me sometimes... but trust me, he's not my enemy or rival. We're bestest bestie.

And Daisy is one of my half — A craziest friend. One will never get bored to spend little time being with her. She's reliable and trustworthy, but there's a little bit of sadness into her glad eyes which fakes happiness a lot. And she reveals her problems only to me which makes me feel important to her. She's a sweet, alluring girl with a comedian character — to make others happy, it's her motto.

An event occurred just recently, where Harry had taken a part in a comedic play which he discussed about with me and Daisy. It was so good that everyone was fooled by his acting which made us laugh.

He's sometimes such a cheesy guy but let me tell you a secret — Some girls in my class have crush upon him.

His Aura sure feels domineering but charming, which attracts others but it's the only reason why girls envy me more — As I'm friends with Harry.

It's the start of our semester and soon our new weekend is going to start which is the holidays I'd love to enjoy with nature's beauty.

In our school, a new club had started - Forest Club. The most exciting club. Students of this club have their survival courses in forest during weekends. There everyone learns how to live in wilderness. It is so adventurous. But unfortunately, just after two weeks, it was stopped, cause something happened and it was rumoured to be a death deal. But in actual, true words are fabricated by rumours which are sure frustrating to admit it's true.

However, I'm not that fickle to change my course because of some mere rumours. I'm totally fascinated with Forest Club and I love challenges in adventures. I hope that it might begin during vacations again, so I may join—"

"—Alas! How clumsy I'm. Why I'm so willful?! My father will never allow me to get joined in such things as he has never permitted me into such things. I'm sure he'll reject me again, so it's no use asking him... as, I am so sad that after some time, I will not be there for my friends too............... For my life, Dad is planning something for this body of mine... which isn't my own.

Sun rises from East, just like always — As the universal truth will never change.

But what changes frequently is human nature. "However, I still have a High school to attend and Father might scold me if I didn't get down to breakfast with him as soon as possible. I must hurry."

Whatever it is, everything is quite usual. Wake up, get fresh, have your breakfast and ready for school. This was only my routine.

"Ahhh... only if I have my Doppelganger instead!" I said in frustration and hurried getting fresh and get to breakfast table.

(Some moments later)

For the whole time, my father looked serious. However, I guess I saw something sinister in him today. Was it my conscience telling me something? Whatever! How can I suspect my father?! I'm his daughter for god's sake!

"I better focus on this new studies of this year rather than such ridiculous things." I said, making my way towards school.

After reaching to school campus, I met with Daisy. She might've waited for me in the entrance. She was glad and so cheerful to see me. I guess something good happened today for which she's in high spirits.

"Good morning Iris. Glad to see you this morning. I hope you are all fine." Daisy said with happiness which is the quality I like in her.

"Everything is fine with me. Well you look so happy today. What's the reason?"

"Huh? You're asking me why? Didn't you know the reason?"

"What reason?" I asked with curiousity.

"Oh dear, I think you didn't got the news anyway." Daisy said with feeling down.

"What news, Daisy? Tell me, or I'm leaving you alone here." I said and tried to walk away but she caught my hand and said, "Oh wait! What's the rush. No one is here, so I guess I could tell you while we walk to class right?"

"You better tell me here. You have 2 minutes and your time. starts. now."

"Huh?! How unfair!! Well anyways, I'm sure you'll start to scream if you heard it."

"Don't keep me in suspense. Reveal it, now."

"Okay fine. You win. Seems like I've to tell you. So, I'll not humour you more and be straightforward. The news hangs around the school campus that...... Forest Club is back to our weekends!!!"

..."Wh-What?"...

...I couldn't believe in my ears. Is it really true?...

So, I said surprisingly, "What? No way. Who told you; are you okay?" ... I'm amazed. I can't believe in that. Is it really restarting again?"

"It is, a way; yes. Forest Club is going to restart in the holidays. Actually, I heard our homeroom teacher talking with other teacher about this. I hope this time...... You'll be there." Daisy said.

I looked at her and she seemed sad.

This opportunity is appearing again but... how can I just agree to it on a whim. My father is too egoistic to permit his daughter on such matters rather than to lose his pride.

So, I said with a smile, "Wow, that's a good news but.......... My father will not allow me."

By then I saw a change in her facial expressions. Suddenly her happiness changes to suspicion. She asked with doubt, "Why?"

Then I replied to her, "Daisy, you know how my father is overprotective about me? I am sure he'll never allow me. I am excited to join the club but...."

"So sad. Iris, you can convince your father for this."

"He'll not listen to me." I said with a sad face.

Daisy is my best friend and I am glad that she told me about the club. But I can't go. Last time, I was scolded harsh by my father when I went to convince him........ No, I can't. I can't do that.

...

Now I literally can't focus on my classes.

During the whole time, I was trying to forget about the Forest Club, but I was unable to do that as I just feel so hollow from inside. But I anyhow get on my grips and spend my time with studying in classes.

Afar from my sixth sense, Harry, my friend, watches me and doubted me. And I know the reason, why?

(On arriving home)

My home is quite a huge villa, with only 8 private people. Me, My father, the butler serving my father and the nanny who started 2 years ago, and the servants.

It's a great change which would be difficult to adapt. Does my father really cares about me like he did in the past?

"Why.... Why I'm thinking such things today?" I said.

...The Mansion of Kane in so big like you're spending time in the Victorian Era....

After getting fresh, I didn't get to see father as he was busy with something — That's what the butler said but, "(Sigh).. I just can't dwell upon my sixth sense if I want father to notice me and answer some of my questions."

...He now feel more colder........

...Colder than the cold breezes....

I soon let my thoughts aside, and get down to do my usual today's school assignment. These things bugs me the most if I slacks in it.

"Finally, I can rest now." I said, after the completion of my work.

I've never felt so tired like I'm today... "How frustrating. I guess I'd take a quick nap to regain my strength—"

However, that's when I heard the clicking sound of my room's door and saw nanny.

"Young Lady Iris, are you still working? Have you completed your assignments?"

"Sure, my sweetest Nanny. I just felt quite tired after writing so... I was heading to take rest. What brings you here? Is it urgent?"

".. Yeah. It's Master Belmont's order. He wants to see you right now in the living room. He said he wanted to tell you something." Nanny said, with fearful eyes. What's with that? Was it, father? Threatening her?"

...

"Lady Iris, you should go now. Just don't make him angry."

It was visible that she's acting. So, I cheered her up and said, "Nanny, don't worry. He's my father. He would never hurt her daughter nor he would harm her... if he did something to you, I would talk it through with him and everything will be fine... Nanny, you know what, I don't have a mother. But it was father who took care of me all these years..... however, he became aloof too and it was only you on my side. SO... DON'T LEAVE ME, OKAY?"

I said those things to her and stepped outside the room —Only to hear, nanny's cries with her heart content.

But I didn't get to hear her plea, which was — "Such a pure angelic you're Lady Iris!! But Alas, you born from such a demonic man!! He's not a human. HE IS A MONSTER!! HE'LL KILL YOU MY LADY!! He'll kill you .... please be safe.....

.....

But who would stop him doing the inhumane things when he even forsaken his wife after using her. Now he has even started torturing the nanny who — almost figured out his true identity, which should remain in those legends of Marlborough that after the downfall of the Marlborough, Vampires ruled longer than 500 years.

And that species of Demons, are still alive in the Human society which follows 'the Lord', who's going to bring their 'Augury Child' who will change the fate of the Vampires.

...And so for now, this meeting of Iris's Father, might relate to this....

(In the living room)

"Dad, you call me?"

"Oh, you're here. But, where's nanny?" Dad asked being indifferent.

I replied, "I sent her back to her work. So, father don't need to scold her for some silly matters."

I held my courage to speak with father, today. But why? Why I feel so scared around him? As if he's going to do something to me..?!

But, he just laughed it off.

He said, "Don't amuse me like that, my dear Iris. You'd really think that.. I'd torture a mere servent in order to report me everything? Who do you think I'm standing before you, daughter?"

He wore a sweet smile which might move anyone. But I don't felt anything.

..

Later he advised me to sit and speak. As for how this conversation is going on, I guess it might take long. The butler was near with father and served him tea.

"What's with him today? He's having his tea in evening... Father never drink tea during conversations and prefers coffee over tea. He only takes his beverages like this either it's after dinner or he's thinking of something with a determination.... Ah, what's happening today? Why everything feels so strange? Like this things never happened."

But, as I was going to say something, father said, "Well, it's so nice to have tea with my daughter here. I need some privacy here Mr. Roth. If so, please leave the room and assists the servants. I'd like to speak with my daughter now."

"Yes Master."

By then, the butler left.

..."Mr. Roth..? He even addresses his 'servants' like some high society officials?"...

Later, he asked me, "Well, how is studies? I hope you had already finished your work."

..."What kind of a game you're playing with me father? Are you even the father I know?"...

...I simply put on a smile and said cheerfully, so he may not suspect me, "Of course, Father. I finally get sometime for me! It was so tiring that I even felt like asleep..."...

"I see...you need rest. A deep rest." My father said.

However, I don't understand a single thing about what he was talking about! Why he keeps saying such weird things?! A deep rest? What does he mean by that?

"Anyways, I've quite wasted our precious time. Well, there's something important I want to tell you, so I called you here. It will take some time in explaining, so please sit tight. But I'll not force you if you're tired."

"No father... that's not. I want to hear you so I came."

"Well Iris, my dear, you might think that I've been weird and emotionless, but you should remember that it's how I cares for you. I hope you may forgive me—"

"No father don't say this! I'm your daughter and you just can't ask my forgiveness!!"

...So... he was just worried about me.... I'm relieved......

Later, he said, "I'm a man, but most importantly, I'm your father too. I hope you may not ignore my words."

"I won't dare, Father."

"Good. That's a huge relief for me."

"So, can you tell me father, what's the matter?"

"Then, you may open your ears and listen to, your father."

"O-okay, father." I replied.

And the discussion starts now. I was not so excited for this.

"Iris; my dear, you need to know about this thing."

"I am listening to you, father."

"You know that we've spend years in this place, and it's so dear to me and you. However, it's a new session of your studies and during holidays, I have taken you to many places. And again, the time comes, when you'll be on your weekends. So... tell me the date."

"?!" So he was just thinking of my holidays. Has he planned out something for vacation? I was so worried father being suspicious that even I forgot about my holidays. So, I have to be at ease, right? However, I still feel off oddly.

I said, "Yeah, father. It's from first day of next month. Only a week is left."

"I see....so this month of April is going to finish by one week." My father said and sighed.

I was wondering that with dad's news, I will not be so excited but, I think this time my dad is planning something bigger, for my holidays. This made me excited. Even I don't know what has gotten into me to make me feel so excited. So, I plan to remain in my cheerful self until this conversation is over.

I said being happy, "Dad, I got that! You're planning any marvelous vacation this time, isn't it?"

My father looked at me with some emotions when he heard it. Was it shock? Or more than that?

Then he said with a smile, "Well, you can say that..."

..."...You'll really enjoy, with your life in this vacation." My father said....

What's... with that expression? He looked so scary. Was it my hallucination? Or I've developed some weird habit of doubting people...?

Then, keeping aside these weird thought, I asked father, "So, where are we going this time?"

Father directly replied, "To... Patrick Island."

What? An island? Wait, I've never heard this name? Where is it?

"Patrick... Island?"

"Yeah. I know you'd be surprised to hear such name. But don't worry, you'll truly enjoy there. Have faith in me."

"Patrick Island? But I haven't heard of this place ever."

"That's why I kept it a surprise, to come up with a bigger Vacation plan. You've come to an age where you'll soon enter the adulthood. Like this leisure time, you might never experience again. So it's my duty to, let you free.... for a moment.

His words were quite doubtful. But I blindly agreed with my father to move on this place cause I may know his real motive. But as a girl, I might've come to an age, but I'm not mature enough. I'm still a kid, by heart.

And That's the biggest flaw in me. The decision I had made for my overall life, will destroy my future... who would've thought?

I was just lost in my own thoughts. Time seems to be in pause, like I'll never be able to escape from this period.

..."Just a week more... you'll realize your inner Identity, my dear........"...

...I sensed my dad saying this, revealing the brightest bloody red coloured eyes....like the so called bloodthirsty brats, the Vampires....

Children do love stories with morals values and happy endings. But the story of Marlborough has become a terrifying legend in the hearts of all people.

And, the truth will never be hidden in the web of lies. It'll soon reveal itself before time.

This true legend is the historic part of how people used to live back in 700 years ago. However...

Once upon a time, there existed the Kingdom of Marlborough — A Prosperous World.

It was the time of King Ethra of Marlborough when technology wasn't developed much but people dwells within a 'Sacred' power. It ruled upon the hearts of the people — THE MAGIC.

But the magic wield by Imperial Family, is quite cruel and different. It's an ancestral magic which they can only conquer it until — The true heir of the throne is a pure child choosen by God himself.

Thus, due to its divinity, the life of the heir is always endangered.

It's not a problem when there's always a war of throne between the heirs of the Royal Family, but the truth is — In the history of the Royal Family, only one was able to wield such rare magic, it's Emperor's Grandfather himself.

Though he's still alive in his deathbed, due to his ancestral magic, he is paralyzed, and the throne is still under Emperor's command.

The normal magic that people of Marlborough Kingdom wield it is divided into four levels of energy according to how well-versed he or she is in casting spells. It's a great feat for a person if he could perform a magic concerning fourth level. But letting that aside, though people were proud of themselves for how good they're in it, they never criticized the one who could not wield magic or lower than them, as it's the time of prosperity which lasted for, 500 years.

But it all came to an end when — A Curse landed upon the Kingdom.

The church claimed that it's a word of God, for his people of Marlborough that — "The downfall of Marlborough, will bring divinity."

But this Oracle was considered a secret cause of its meaning as... the people of 'church' could not figure out it's true meaning and misunderstood it.

They presented it before the Imperial Family after interpreting it as the 'Word' of God for the Royals of Marlborough's downfall. They said that it's itself a secret to their rule upon Marlborough in future, which concerned the Emperor.

And due to the reluctance of accepting the 'word', it resulted in Emperor's Grandfather's death who was in his deathbed.

A prodigy passed away after a long time. Since then, the Emperor started to prepare for the worst, either a war or his death... he started to prepare for war himself, his family and for his kingdom before hand, blindly.

But who would've thought that the 'war' for which he was preparing due to the word from God, which he feared —

...will never going to happen in first place....

The Emperor waited many years for the worst to come, but nothing happened as he planned out and his every preparation gone in vain.

He thought, what the God is planning for his kingdom? Was is just a simple warning? A threat? Or... a real prediction for something unfortunate.

But whatever he may think, nothing came out to be true and he lost his sixth sense voice. However, a word always linger on his head, "Does this word of God really a truth? But how can I suspect it if the church has confirmed it?"

The doubt was growing up that even it has started to bother Emperor. So, to confirm it again, he met with the Pope of the Church to show him the true Oracle and interpret it's true meaning before him.

As the honorable before the honorable, The church can't deny it.

But before he could even get the hold of the information he received — there was an assassination attempt in the Palace which brought up the 'true downfall' in the Imperial Family.

This assassination was led by some unknown people who intruded into the Palace which even the Royal guards couldn't able to handle — And, there was the bloodshed of everyone — Not a single soul was left alive.

Emperor was on his way back from church but he was ambushed to get killed too — in a brutal way.

...And, a voice said, "You need a deep rest, Emperor. Running away from death is not a manly manner."...

Those unknown people weren't Human creatures.... but they left the civilians survived because they wanted to conquer them. And so, they conquered the entire Marlborough Kingdom.

Remember the word said the 'downfall of Marlborough', which refers to the slaughter of Imperial Family. This was the truth for which the Emperor was kept ignorant of.

Since that day, those unknown creatures who conquered the Land, claimed themselves as VAMPIRES and started to rule over Marlborough as people's king and treated humans as their pets. They don't worship God, but rather follows the satan in their own lives.

...But only.... a half of the 'word' is interpreted....

These cold blooded blood sucking monstrous demons called Vampires, are immune to magic.

They conquered the Marlborough because of their lord's words that — 'the augury child of Marlborough will change the fate of the Vampires' .Either a human or a filthy half-Vampire, their salvation and immortality will only be decided by the child.

But to their surprise... it was not Marlborough which was blessed but a small island within the territory of Marlborough named Patrick Island. And those Vampires stretched out their Vampiric Clan onto Patrick Island. After waiting for years and years, Only Vampires with less humans remained in the Patrick Island.

When the time of Blood Moon came, they, the Royal Vampires, slaughtered the Vampires and humans of the Patrick Island in order to search for the augury child, but they got nothing in hand... instead, a war broke out between the neighbouring countries which affected Marlborough a lot that even the divinity of Church couldn't grasp the concept of God's rage which led the downfall of Marlborough and after 35 years of suffering, Marlborough today stands out as a successful developed City in the entire Continent. At present, they don't lack in resources.
