THE RUIN

On an evening as normal as any other, with people returning from their work, the wives prepared dinner, the

children played in the park or in the garden, enjoying every last ray of sunlight.

It starts to get dark, the sky is in shades of orange and black, the silence of the night begins to hover, in

the city the typical sounds of vehicles, of citizens celebrating another successful day of work, the day seems to end as normally as any other.

As always, the subway is full, streets with countless vehicles, people, the sun has just set when a loud bang

followed by an earthquake surprises everyone, people are looking for shelter, throughout the city the alarm of earthquake, some run, others freeze with fear, alarms from stopped vehicles go off, windows break, panic sets in.

Then in an instant everything is silent, the worst seems to be over, and the citizens start to resume their

way, but something was wrong, Defense Force soldiers appeared from all sides.

—What do they do here? It was the most frequent question, and with the routine rush no one noticed the presence or

noticed any strange facts, the feeling of security makes anything else outside their field of vision to be ignored.

The soldiers rallied and prepared. —Is it a combat exercise? — Is something wrong happening? They asked

each other.

No one had the guts to ask, they just mumbled and figured out what was going on, maybe they just got a

standard response like – We're just making sure everything is okay or something.

Curious eyes to the soldiers, and more and more people flocked to see what was happening.

Some soldiers did containment to prevent the passage of any citizen, while other soldiers tried to disperse

the crowd that gathered, containment barriers, deviations in vehicle traffic and the order to close down the subway activities.

A military sound car informs the citizens that they must leave as quickly as possible and, in order, that the

cars must be abandoned, and that they should head east of the city to a safe place.

Few people obey orders leaving the place, most stay to try to find out or see what would happen.

In the distance where there is a forest park it is possible to see a movement, something seemed to move a

strange figure appears, soldiers position themselves behind vehicles and prepare to shoot.

The creature appeared to be three meters tall, the skin looked damp and greenish brown, clawed fingers,

bulging eyes and totally gray, its arms almost touched the ground, the torso was thin, the mouth was just a line, but when opening it was possible to see teeth in the form of a saw,

His walk was slow and uncoordinated, he came towards the population, no one had seen anything like

this before, people took pictures and filmed the creature, the press arrived at the scene of the event.

In an attempt to get the best footage, a local TV reporter gets dangerously close to the stranger. The

soldiers ask the reporter to move away from the creature, but he didn't move, the moment the creature turns its head towards the reporter filming the creature.

That thing was just watching for a while, then it slowly turns around to face the camera fully.

Then she raises one of her arms and approaches the reporter very slowly and stops her hand a few inches

from the camera, and suddenly claws extend piercing the head, chest and one of the reporter's legs, the camera drops and continues to film what is happening.

The creature opens its mouth and tries to swallow the man and as he did not fit, the creature moves its jaw

to finally swallow that man at once.

People were screaming—That thing has just swallowed a person. Everyone was trying to get out of that place

as fast as they could, pushing whoever was in front of them what they just saw was horrible, and they wondered where that thing had come from.

The monster turns to people trying to run away, she starts to walk now faster than before.

The soldiers shoot immediately, the creature targeted by the shots, which had no effect, so the Japan Defense Forces begins to use mortar launchers to contain that monster.

Several shots at the monster that falls, the now furious creature digs its claws into the ground trying to

get up, at that moment a helicopter is heard and then a strong explosion. Dust  scattered everywhere, pieces of the creature fell everywhere in a big hole made by the explosion.

It seemed to have ended with the destroyed creature, the soldiers approach to investigate among the wreckage

of the buildings destroyed by the explosion, pieces of glass from the windows, and some vehicles were also damaged.

Four soldiers were looking at some pieces of the creature that were on fire when a strong gust of wind blows

in the place, various bursts of machine guns are heard, the soldiers run and group and start looking for where these shots are coming from.

When they look up, they see the helicopter chasing a huge flying creature with a tail that at the end

opened two almost transparent fins.

Thirty-caliber shots did not penetrate the animal's scaly skin, on land other monsters appeared,

reinforcements arrived all the time, armored vehicles and tanks surrounded the city, more helicopters and even air force fighters came to contain the monsters.

The next day the reports were the most diverse, news about those monsters was featured on all channels across

the country, and it doesn't take long for the news of these creatures to reach the rest of the world.

Reports of unknown creatures in the seas on land and in the air echo on all sides. In Europe, sightings of these creatures were reported just a few days after the first ones appeared in Kyoto.

In the Americas it is no different creatures appear out of nowhere as if sprawled in a video game, and

in the rest of the world, more and more creatures are seen.

For several days new cases of apparitions were reported and each day the creatures grew stronger and

stronger, armed forces from all over the world endeavored to eliminate the threats.

However, conventional weapons no longer had an effect as more and more powerful weapons were developed,

nuclear weapons were out of the question as the practical effect would be to decimate the creatures.

But the side effect would be that almost the entire population would be annihilated and land would become

unproductive, and the radiation would make the planet totally uninhabitable.

With more and more creatures appearing, habitable regions became smaller and smaller, soon systems such as

TV, water and electricity services began to collapse, food began, clothes and medicines are now rare items.

Along with this chaos that increases every day, the creatures begin to develop, some become practically

armored, others develop monstrous strength, others through chemical processes shoot acid fire or even look like giant animals like in the movies.

But the most feared are the creatures named after gods, they were classified as D5 creatures or doomsday

demons.

All the nations on the planet were struggling and suffering with many casualties, but small countries in

Europe, Middle East, South America, countries with weak offensive power quickly succumbed.

The populations of those countries that fell migrated to countries that could defend themselves from

these monsters in hopes of surviving.

In two years, only Japan, Brazil, USA, South Korea and Russia still had the strength to continue the

fight, and to guarantee the survival of other countries.

The last nations came together to develop training weapons and distribute their troops around the world,

offering aid and welcoming survivors.

In Japan, citizens who still live in the ruins of cities are rescued and sent to Tokyo, where they receive

the minimum food shelter to survive.

The city received and adjustments and with the concentration of defenses centralized becoming a

fortress

Houses and commercial and residential buildings were rebuilt, factories were built parks and green areas

for leisure for citizens to relieve stress were restored and received frequent

maintenance.

Very different from regions that have been evacuated or taken over by these creatures.
