Coming from the shower,Ethan ties his robe and walks towards his walk-in closet.He was early to head towards his company and decided to dress into a pastel peach long sleeves and a plain slacks.He buttons his long sleeves up to his chest and let the two more buttons as is.After dressing up,he dried his natural blond hair using a short towel before finishing it with a blower.He was almost finished when his phone rang.

"Ethan."

("it's dad.Don't forget about the dinner tonight.")

He froze but immediately hum in response.The call ended as he sighed looking at himself in the mirror.

"I guess,its another night of playing cupid,eh?"he said to himself before walking out of his room and headed towards the dining room.He then saw his grandfather's butler,Mr. Evans who have now become his after his grandpa died.

"Good morning,young master."he greeted making Ethan smiled.

"Good morning.By the way,I won't be home for dinner tonight."Ethan said apologetically to him.

The butler easily understood the situation and he felt sad for the young master.He had been a butler to the Chen's family since his late Grand master Chen's marriage.He witnessed everything that happened to Ethan even before he stays with the grand master.The kid had been nothing but an obedient son to the family despite exercising his rights as an omega.But,he has to gave it up and stand for the family's business.An omega that should stay mostly in the house was tasked to meet different people regardless of kind.Even when ending up going home with a sudden heat after being attacked by some alpha businessman.

"Okay.Let me know if you want to be picked up later."He said as he saw how the young master nodded with empty eyes on him.

Ethan had his breakfast earlier since he has to go to the office to compensate for his early out later.He don't like taking advantage of his position just to slack off.It was something not on his sleeves.He went out back to his room to prepare himself to work.He tucked his long sleeves on his slacks and fixed his hair again.Then he put on his wristwatch and the necklace his grandma has given him on his 12th birthday.

After grooming himself and picking up his leather hand bag and his phone on the other hand,he went down.

His driver,Aiden,greeted him before he opened the door for his young master and drove the car off.

During the whole ride, Ethan reviewed his schedule as he received as text message for the address of the restaurant the said dinner will be held.

He did not reply instead sent a message to his secretary,Amelia,for a few changes in his schedule.When they arrived at the company,he muttered a quick thank you to Aiden and strides towards the entrance.Everyone greeted him and he greeted them back.

He was working for five years in the company after his grandpa died when he was 18.It was the hardest year of his life where he had to neglect the stereotype as an omega just to fulfill the position he had to fill in the moment.His father automatically become the president and he proceeded as his vice.Being new to the field made Ethan worked from scratch.He has no one to mentor him like how his grandpa told him.His father become as busy as he is and he has to home-schooled during that time while learning the business.He surpassed his limitations as an omega just to kelp his dad manage the company.He envied how his kinds had live there life through.They get to do what omegas usually do.They are loved,being protected and most of all,they are given the privilege what they want to do.Something that feels like a dream for him.

He then punch in the code for the private elevator and went inside with a sigh.

He can't help but to smile to himself as he saw his reflection in the wall of the elevator.He felt sad for himself for doing something of his kind won't do.He should be at home or at any place indulging the privilege of being an omega.But here he is, working with a business suit that didn't even hide his proportions.He has a petite and slender body like most of his kinds have.His suit perfectly fit him like it was made and was used right after.However,his eyes seemed to differ.They were empty and calm.Unlike others who hold innocence and charm.A thing he assumes why he hasn't found his mate until now.He can't help but to feel more sad about himself.

I guess,that is something not to be bothered of.He won't be surprised once he found his mate only to get rejected.He felt a pang to his chest but still encourage the fact.It being a negative fact is something not unknown to him.

Well,I'll figure it out maybe later.

Amelia greeted him and so he responded.He went inside his office behind him is Amelia orienting him about what appointments he have today.After what Amelia told him,he started reading emails and signing off some documents while waiting for the time to pass.

With last quick glance in the rear view mirror of the car,he said thanks to Aiden as the other smiled at him.

As soon as he stepped out of the car,the evening breeze soon enveloped him.He silently shivered and mentally scolded himself for not bringing something to shield himself from the cold.He is naturally prone to cold since omegas have weaker immune system than the other kinds.

He approached the entrance and nodded at the guard before entering.A waiter guided him towards a private dining room of the restaurant and he assumes would be too obvious to ask.His parents would not meet a family on public.And he was not asked to have a simple dinner for himself but he was ordered to do so and wait for the other to reject him.If the other party won't,Ethan has to meet him few more times until he finds him boring and decided to reject him.But if the person he is about to meet rejects me first hand,He would gladly appreciate it.A thing more convenient for the both of them

"Good evening."He greeted as soon as he saw everyone.He smiled towards the couple across his parents.He immediately recognized them.Who wouldn't?

"I'm happy that you are here.Son,I want you to meet Mr. Richard Lu and his spouse,Mrs. Evah Lu.Mr. and Mrs. Lu,he's our son,Ethan."His father introduced.

He handed his hand to the couple and shake their hands gently not until he froze as a sandalwood scent evade his nostrils.He immediately grasp the edge of the the table.His heart beats so fast like someone is chasing him.His knees almost gave in when he saw the shadow of a tall man in front of him.He felt his breathing become unstable.

"Derek, You're in time.I want you to meet the heir of the Chen Family,Ethan Chen."Mr. Lu said as Ethan still struggle to breath.

"Nice to meet you,Mr. Chen."

Ethan shivered upon what he said as my mother glanced at me warningly.Not wanting to embarrass his parents,he composed himself and look back only to get struck by the person behind me.An alpha!His pheromones made him shiver more.His eyes were distant and cold.Of course,who wouldn't know the famous bachelor in the country.

"I-It's nice to meet you too,Mr. Lu."

After the brief introduction,Ethan excused myself and go to the comfort room.His pheromones are making Ethan dizzy and...hot.It may induce his heat especially when he know, he's his mate.

It would have been better if it is other person but to discover that it is someone too influential as Derek Lu,He can easily tell the outcome.A dominant alpha whom everyone has there eyes of is seriously his mate?Even to himself,he can'r make himself to believe it.And his assumption was proven when sandalwood scent fill the comfort room.His heart raced and he felt his knees slowly become weak.But he remained calm and pretended that he felt nothing because he knew the alpha would not like it.

As Ethan looked up in the mirror,he caught the gaze of the alpha.His eyes pierces through his own as if evading his soul.

"I know you feel it."Derek started.Ethan felt the coldness of his voice as he decided to continue washing his hand before looking up to the alpha.

"Yes.And I know you wouldn't be here for confirmation,Mr. Lu."Ethan abruptly said knowing where this conversation will end up.

The alpha remained silent for a moment mainly like testing the water.

"I am not accepting you."

Ethan felt his chest tighten and his brain become blank.He expected it but it seems to feel different than the previous ones that had rejected him.Maybe it's because of him being his mate.He took few moments before he digested what the alpha had.

He mentally smiled to himself knowing that he was never wrong.He looked up and meet the alpha's eyes.

"Reject me in front of our family,Mr. Lu."Ethan said as he walk towards the door ready to leave but Derek spoke.

"I'm saying this to you first so you won't lose your face in front of our family and so you can think of an excuse."the alpha said.

Ethan wanted to laugh at what he said.Lose his face?Making excuse?He doesn't need any of those.He can felt his legs trembled but he stood his ground.

With a pain in his chest,Ethan looked back and replied."It's nothing new to my family,Mr. Lu.I hope you can make up enough reason for your family.As for mine,you can leave it as is."

and Ethan left holding the tears that was about to fall from his eyes.He cooed himself mentally saying how situations like this is nothing for him to get his head of.He was rejected a lot of time because most like omegas who rely most to them that to their own selves.But Ethan is nothing like that.Since the five years of forgetting his own kind,Ethan is someone who relied more on himself and not to anyone.He is comfortable more on his self than living while relying on others.

Both of their parents continue to talk about business as Ethan sometimes join only to answer some questions.Derek,on the other hand,observed the omega's action.The omega looked stunning with his natural blond hair.It is neatly styled emphasizing his small face and highlighting his beautiful features.He met a lot of omegas as some tried to seduce him but this omega is different.He has his own aura that reflects how composed and how he valued himself more than others.His actions mirror the class his family had.Derek knows why exactly his parents wanted him to end up with the omega,he is undoubtedly admirable in the first place but,he can't accept him.And the omega seemed to not care about being rejected even if it's his mate.He was intrigued by his negligence like how intrigued he was by his eyes.He had encountered a lot of omegas and they naturally have beautiful eyes.But the omega in front of him is different.He has beautiful Violet eyes but it mirrored emptiness.

"So,what have you talked about earlier?"Mr. Lu suddenly spoke.

The omega looked up and met Derek's eyes possibly waiting for him to reject him.The purpose of the dinner is long gone.Ethan wanted to end this dinner so he can go home and call it a day.He was too tired and too overwhelmed that sitting in from of their parents tired him more.

"We talked and I told him I am not interested in another dinner invitation after this night."Derek concisely said wrapping up everything.Ethan even has the chance to get shocked even after knowing it.The alpha's words sent hundreds of needles that struck his heart.Well,the pain will soon end.

They're parents are both shocked.So Ethan took the chance and talked."I am glad to have dinner with you Mr. and Mrs. Lu.It was such an honor but I think there is sudden chance of events.I hope our future interactions won't reflect what happened tonight."

Derek seemed to be taken a back from what the omega have said.The omega was calm and composed while carefully putting an end to the evening's event.He then met Ethan's eyes and the omega smiled.

"I also appreciate your honesty,Mr. Lu."But his smiled didn't reached his eyes.Derek felt something unknown to him.Ethan then whispered something to his parents before saying a simple goodbye to Derek's parents and he stood up only to be stumble a little from his seat.Due to his fast reflexes,Derek immediately hold the omega's hand as both felt the electrifying currents from their contact.It doesn't affect the alpha directly but the omega seemed to be solely affected as he abruptly avoid the alpha's hands.Derek felt a sudden anger on the lost of contact but never spoke anything.

Ethan walked out of the restaurant feeling himself heavy every step that he take.He felt hot and at the same time,his heart is not helping.He stood in the middle of the parking lot forgetting that Aiden left after he went inside the restaurant.He is trembling while reaching for his phone on his bag.His vision become blurry as he felt his knees are going to give up soon.Reaching his phone,he immediately dialed his butler's number.A few rings and he answered.

"M-Mr. E-Evans.."he panted while balancing himself.

("Young master.We are heading there.Please hold on a little and find yourself a safe place.Take your inhibitors too.Aiden!drive faster!!")

He ended the call and followed his butler's instructions.He looked for a place far from the restaurant's entrance where most people are.He was about to keep himself safe when a sandalwood scent meet his senses and he immediately calmed down.Derek pulled him closer while glaring around the other alphas who had their eyes for his mate.He felt the omega's breathing to become even as he released more pheromones to relax him.Derek inhaled the omega's mangoes and peaches scent which makes himself satisfied.His mate's scent was truly savory and it makes him crazy.

"No-o..L-Let me g-go..."the omega said which made Derek clenched his jaw.

"No.I'll let you go once you're safe."The alpha said in domineering voice that made the omega silent.Ethan can't understand why the alpha suddenly hold him but he can't deny the warmth he feels.Not having enough of his mate's scent,the omega snuggle more towards the alpha's neck.Derek almost groaned by what the omega did.He immediately calmed himself knowing what will happen if he will lose his cool.They would end up in a situation where both of them will not like.

"Is he okay?"A valet asked,a beta.Derek immediately became possessive of his mate as he attack the beta.The beta immediately kneeled down and catch his breath.

"I-I:m s-sorry sir..P-llease.."he begged to the alpha.Sensing no danger for his mate,he stopped his pheromones as the beta walked away.

Derek doesn't like sharing what's his.And that's include his mate.
