The Backstory
Hello, this is the author. So I’m going to introduce the characters in this chapter, read the description to have a better understanding of y/n’s backstory.
Y/n
Y/n Chikondi, age:15, skills: (after military) she can kick and punch very well, she is good at fighting, possibly as good as Mikey.
Y/n
She changed a bit after seeing the things she saw in the military, she barely sleeps because she gets nightmares, she hides stuff from her friends more (such as her improved fighting skills), and she has become more emotionless and careless.
Mikey met y/n when they were around 10 y/o, before kenchin (Draken). It was right after y/n’s parents had died in the water accident. Basically, her parents we’re driving y/n home from a trip and saw someone standing on the road, they tried to turn safely but they were driving at 55 m/h. As they tried to turn the car around the car fell off the bridge and straight into the deep water.
They tried to smash the windows open but couldn’t because of the water pressure. The car got filled with water and help arrived, they got everyone out but it was too late as y/n’s parents died, she was the only one who survived…
The day after y/n got discharged from the hospital she had nowhere to go. So she sat in a dark alley all alone. A few men came up to her and started harrassing her:

Heyyy, are you all alone?
Unknown men
Where are your parents?
(Y/n shrugs her shoulders and as she does that a smirk forms on the men’s faces.)
Unknown men
Come on! Let’s have some fun!
(They grab her arms as she tries to resist, but they are stronger than little y/n.)
(As they pick her up, she starts screaming and yelling for help):
Unknown men
Hahaha come on! We’re just going to go have fun! Don’t be such a party pooper.
As the men were laughing someone kicks one of the men down.
Mini Mikey
She said to put her down. So put her down.
Unknown men
Hahaha, who does this brat think he is-
He didn’t get to finish his sentence before the strange boy kicks the leader’s face and knocks him out.
Unknown men
H-he kicked the leader unconscious in one kick!
Unknown men
Let’s go, we shouldn’t get involved with him.
(The unknown men runs away.)
Mini Mikey
The name’s Sano Manjiro, but you can call me Mikey.
Mini Mikey
What’s your name?
(She stares at Mikey wondering if she should trust the boy that came out of nowhere to save her.)
Mini Mikey
Where are your parents y/n?
(She said as tears started to form.)
Mini Mikey
It’s okay! How about you come live with me?
(She had nowhere else to go, so she had no choice but to answer):
Mini Mikey
From now on, you’re my best friend y/n.
He smiled, and his smile was so warm a fuzzy. It made y/n feel comforted.
From then on they were best friends, Mikey, Draken and y/n. Until one day (at the age of 13):
Mini Mikey
Hey y/n! There a letter for you.
She comes downstairs and opens the letter.
As she had opened the letter and started reading it she stands there shocked.
Mini Mikey
What does it say?
Mini y/n
That I have to join the military…
Mini Mikey
What? You’re just 13! That’s illegal.
Mini y/n
Apparently the request got accepted by the government.
Mini Mikey
You can’t go! I won’t let you.
Mini y/n
Sorry Mikey, but I have to. Otherwise we all could go to jail.
She started shaking, y/n didn’t want to go to the military. She had her life set and everything was going fine. She was finally happy.
In the military she saw some horrible things, she had to go into war and she saw a lot of people die.
But she learned stuff there like dodging bullets and she became stronger, maybe even as strong as Mikey.
When she came back she changed though.
Welcome back!
Emma
Let me carry your bags for you.
(Emma grabbed y/n’s bags)
Emma
Mikey! Get your *** here!
It looked like he had just woke up.
Y/n
(Thinking: Hi y/n? What kind of reaction is that after being gone for 2 years? But then again, this is Mikey we’re talking about.)
Y/n knew that deep inside Mikey had a different reaction. He does have a way of hiding his feelings and problems, but y/n already knows this, as does Emma.
Mikey
Do you need any help with the suitcase?
Emma
Yes, carry it to her room.
Emma
You must be tired y/n, how about I make us some tea?
Emma knows y/n’s love for tea.
As they were making tea the girls were talking. Mikey came in to the kitchen.
Mikey
There is a Toman meeting at xxxx street, tomorrow at 3pm. Come if you want.
She knew that when Mikey said “come if you want”, he meant “please come”.
It was time for the Toman meeting. Mikey was at the top of the stairs, along with Draken.
Y/n was also at the top of the stairs next to Mikey. He had asked her to do so.
Mikey
Today we meet to announce a few things!
Mikey
First of all we welcome back one of our Toman founders, y/n!
Takemichi
(Thinking: One of the founders of Toman is a girl…? She might be the key to something)
Mikey
Are there any objections?
They don’t know how much stronger she has grown.
Mikey
If there are any objections, take them with me.
Mikey
Very well, welcome to Toman, 6th division captain, y/n!
Usually Toman cheers for new members. People in Toman didn’t want to object the invincible Mikey, but they also didn’t want some weak girl in their gang. Founder of Toman or not.
Mikey
Other news, Valhalla have challenged Toman to a fight.
Mikey
The date is the 31st October, which is on Halloween.
Mikey
We’re going to crush Valhalla!
Y/n
(Thinking: a fight, against who? Who’s Valhalla?)
Y/n has missed so much these past 2 years.
The 31st October is only a week away. I wonder what’s going to happen then?
Shopping Day
Emma
Hey Mikey! Hina, y/n and I are going shopping! See ya later!
She yells so that he can hear her as he is in his room.
Y/n
Are you sure I can go shopping with you and Hina?
Emma
Yes! I’m sure Hina won’t mind, she is quite sweet.
They step outside of the house and see Hina standing there, it looked like she was waiting for them.
Hinata
Took you guys long enough.
Emma
It’s my friend y/n, we knew each other for quite some time now.
Hinata
Oh, hi y/n! It’s very nice to meet you!
Emma
You don’t mind her going shopping with us, do you?
Hinata
No, of course not. I’m happy I can make a new friend.
Y/n
So are we going or what?
They went shopping, Emma was holding 2 bags and Hina was holding one while y/n didn’t find anything that she liked yet.
Emma
What store do you want to go to, y/n?
Y/n
I’m hungry, so maybe a bakery. I really want cake.
It was silent for a second, before they both bursted out laughing.
Emma
You really are like Mikey.
After they were done shopping they went to a bakery where they bought cake. Y/n got to pick out the cakes. They bought 6 cakes so that they each get two pieces.
Y/n was holding the cakes (all 6 of the pieces were in the box) because Emma and Hina were holding their shopping bags.
They were on their way home when someone bumped into y/n making her fall.
Y/n
Hey, watch where you’re going.
Y/n picked up the box that had cake and made sure that it was still good
Takemichi
Maybe we should… run!
Takemichi said as he pointed to some guys running towards them.
Everyone was about to run, Emma pulled y/n’s arm.
Emma
Huh? Why aren’t you running?
Hinata
But they might hurt you y/n!
Y/n
Then so be it, we were shopping for so long my legs are about to fall off.
Takemichi
Oh no! Here they come.
Y/n walks up to Takemichi handing the box of cake.
She says as she goes back to where she was standing.
Unknown men
Don’t try to run from us! We will crush your skull.
Unknown men
Who are these girls here?

I don’t know but they’re cute
The leader walks up to y/n who is standing the closest to them.
Man 1
You’re pretty, give me a little smooch.
The leader leans in to kiss y/n, but y/n kicks him unexpectedly.
He falls down and as he looks up he is bleeding from his nose and mouth.
Man 1
Hey! What’s this supposed to be?
Man 1
You think you’re stronger than me?
Y/n
No, I know I’m stronger than you.
Y/n
Because if you fall down from one kick where I barely used any of my strength, then I believe that you’re pretty weak.
The leader runs to punch her, but she dodged by moving to the side.
She grabs onto his arm and flips him around and holds him in a position where she easily can break his back.
Unknown men
She’s got the leader!
The men run leaving their leader behind.
Y/n
Some friends they are.
Y/n
Bailing on their friend.
Y/n
But then again, this gang could be built by fear of you right?
Man 1
They have to fear you to make them obey you!
Y/n
Or maybe, you could be their friend and instead gain their trust and loyalty. That way they don’t bail on you when this happens.
Y/n walked up to Takemichi, who flinched for a second.
Takemichi
(Thinking: that’s what Mikey-kun and Draken-kun call me)
Y/n
I want to go to sleep.
They all go leaving the leader behind, shocked on the ground.
Y/n got out of the shower dressed in her black hoodie and black sweatpants with her hair all wet.
She goes to her room and sits at the desk.
She is studying, trying to catch up to all the work that she has missed
When an unknown number calls her.
