"Since it's our last time to be in one class, let's go to a karaoke bar to sing and celebrate for our highschool graduation tomorrow!" Announced by our Class President and everyone agreed.

"I'm gonna pass. I still have my part-time job." I said to them.

"You will come with us. I already said that you'll be absent and your Cafè manager said yes." Said by Ulric as he held my arm.

I sighed and then we go to the karaoke bar and since we are 25 people, we got the biggest room.

Ulric volunteered to pay for our foods so literally we ordered a lot.

Ulric Johnson. Son of the richest and wealthiest man here in our place. His dad is a CEO in the biggest empire and they've got a lot of business to start with. His mom is a former beauty queen but now, she has her own chain of restaurants and boutiques in every malls. Basically, he has all the money to enroll in a prestigious academy or university but I don't know why he's here in a middle class highschool.

Wondering why I know him? My family works for them. My dad is his dad's personal driver while my mom is his mom's personal assistant. My family had been under their care since I was 5 and still working under them. That turns out me becoming his bestfriend.

I nodded and get the remote and mike and stand on that mini stage infront. I've always wanted to sing this song.

After I key in the number of the song. I prepare myself to sing.

"To whom you dedicate that song?" Asked by them by I said secret and laugh to shake off their follow up questions.

When I go back to my seat, Aya, my classmate whispered something to me.

"You should tell him what you feel."

"What do you mean?" I asked her nervously.

"Ulric. You like- no scratch that. You love him. Do you?"

I look at her eyes wide open!

"Its obvious. I mean, you're too obvious."

"Do others notice it too?"

"100%. Well, except for Ulric. So you better be honest with your feelings for him just this once."

I sighed and look at Ulric secretly.

"You know the title of the song I sang awhile ago right?"

"Yes." She answered.

"Just as the song, Ulric is OUT OF MY LEAGUE."

Hayley's POV

After the graduation, Mr. Johnson, his father, offered me a scholarship but I properly decline. I wanted to strive on my own so I applied as scholar to many Universities until I got one.

It's a prestigious university but it is located in the next town. So I had to live my own.

Ulric was sad about my decision but we promised to call each other every night so we can still be intouch.

I didn't asked money to my parents since I am in a boarding school. Aside from that, I am planning to have a part time jobs to earn for myself.

"Why are you doing this?" I remembered my mom asked me.

"I just want to have a nice job in the future mom so that you will not work anymore. Soon enough you'll going to age more and I want you to have the luxury in life. I want it to give what you deserve, mom."

"Are you sure you are doing these things for us?"

"Of course mom."

"What about Ulric? You'll going to leave him."

I just keep silent and never bothered answering her.

At first it was okay. Ulric and I are having our late night talks until we are slowly drifting apart.

There are times when he was calling me but I can't talk to him because it is either I am at work or I am sleeping already due to tiredness.

I wanted to call him back but I am thinking maybe he was busy and I don't want to disturb him.

During special occasions, I can't go home to celebrate, instead I doubled my part time jobs to earn money for the next term.

Until I did not notice that 5 years had already passed. I graduated Magna Cumlaude in BS Biology. Yes. I want to become a doctor.

I went home to tell the good news but nobody was there so I decided to go the the Johnson's mansion only to find out that there is a simple gathering happening right now.

"Hay-Hay! You're back!" He shouted in surprise as he came and hug me tight.

"Ahm. Sorry I disturb your party." I shyly apologized to them.

" No its okay, dear. Its just a small celebration because my son here, Ulric, is now the new CEO of our empire." His dad announce happily.

If anyone notice that I got shock by the news, I don't know.

"Congratulations! You made it! I know you'll handle your empire!" I said with a big smile.

"You think so? Thank you Hay-hay!" He happily said and hug me tight again.

I excused myself to them and went to the bathroom.

"He's still out of my league. No matter what I do, I can't reach him." I cried silently.

The next morning, I was called to join them in their breakfast. My dad was busy attending the car and my mom was not there around so basically I was with the Johnson Family alone.

"So Hayley, what are your plans now?" Asked by his mom.

"I just graduated my 5 year-BS Biology course. So now I'm going to enroll to a med-school for 4 years and then proceed to 3-7 years of residency."

"That's long. So that means I cannot hang out with you again." Ulric said frowning.

Hang out? That's what friends usually do. He really treats me as his best friend.

I smiled at him.

"You will be busy also. Apparently, you have your empire to run Mr. CEO." I said to him.

"Hayley's right son." Said by his father.

"What med-school are you attending?" Ask by Ulric

"Im going to Ateneo de Manila."

"Can I visit you there?" He asked again.

"Of course." I said and smile.

I know he'll never visit me because he'll be busy.

Later that day, I bid my goodbye to them because I will go back to the school.

While on my way back to school, I made a decision.

Hayley's POV

*7 years after*

I am here at NAIA. I just got back from the States. I wanted to go back straight to our house but my family is currently living under the roof of Johnson's family so whether I like it or not, I have to go there.

I am patiently waiting for their new family driver and not so long he arrive and help me with my things.

When I was about to get on the backseat part, I was surprised to see him on the other side.

He grumpily looked at me then divert his gaze on the window.

"Just get in faster. I want to go home and sleep already." He said with a hint of authority.

"A-ah yes. Sorry." I said and nervously get on the car.

Silence envelop us while on our way back to their mansion.

"So you're still alive." He said withouth looking at me. Gone with the playful voice I used to love back then.

I remained silent. I don't want to talk or else I might cry infront of him.

When we arrive, I immediately went out to rush to my parents. My dad is on a wheelchair why my mom is at his back manuevering the wheelchair. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are on the side watching us.

I hug my parents tightly.

"Im sorry you have to come home because of me." My dad said.

"No dad. I'm glad I came home to take care of you."

I look to Mr. and Mrs. Johnson and said my thanks to them.

"Thank you for your kindness in taking care of my father. I can take it from here and take care of them from home."

"No. Please Hayley, let me take care of you dad. He saved me that's why he's in this kind of situation."

"My husband is right, Hay-hay. This is our way of saying thank you. Besides, you'll be busy with work now that you request your transfer here right?"

As a sign of defeat, I sigh and nod when suddenly Ulric passed by.

"Where are you going son?" Asked by his dad.

"Sleep." He just answered and went upstairs. I just look at him from where I stand.

"I'm sorry for his manners. He's really tired. For the past 7 years, he made the empire a lot bigger. He's now venturing on hospitals and oil industries." His mom explain.

"H-he's doing a great job." I said and smile.

I decided to stay in our house because that is near the hospital I am assigned.

In the afternoon I went to the hospital to announce my transfer.

"This is bad. I can't reach him anymore." I sighed.

When I step in the hospital, I saw him. I saw Ulric. I don't know why he's here but that question was answered immediately.

"Daddy!!!!" Shouted by a kid who ran towards him and hug him.

He carry the child with a big smile and not so long, a beautiful lady came towards them. She is beautiful. They look like... They look like a happy family.

I know at that moment, I know something inside me shattered. Perhaps, my heart.

I divert my gaze and run to the nearest comfort room. I let myself cry silently and after that I fixed myself as nothing happened. After I look like nothing happened, I went to the board room. It was located at the top floor of this building.

When I was there, I knocked first and then open the door. I pretend not to get shock when I saw him at the end.

So this hospital belongs to him and I am working under him.

The senior doctors introduced me to everyone. After the short meeting everyone went out immediately to go back to their work stations. While I was left behind to study my work loads.

I was engrossed with the papers I am holding that I didn't noticed that he is standing behind my back.

"Ms. Franco." He said making me startled.

"Y-yes sir?" I said as I look at him.

"I hate incompentent doctors. So if you're planning to disappear again, better resign. Don't mess with my business." He said as he walk towards the door but before he can open it I stop him.

"Can we talk, Mr. Ulric? I'll explain my side."

"I'm busy."

"Later. I'll wait later at 8pm right after my shift here." I said to him with confidence.

He look at me smirking.

"How sure are you that I'm going to meet you later?"

"I'll still wait. In front of that karaoke bar that we went when we were celebrating for our upcoming graduation day. I'll wait."

"Don't wait for me. I'll never come." He said and went out.
