"Ok, let’s see." I adjusted the camera as I walked my way to school.

"Hello me! As you know my name is Seraphina, and today I'm 15 years old. I’m currently living in Rostin City. I'm going to start my first day of high school at Sierra High, yay! I'm still not a social person, but I guess I have plenty of friends, well used to anyway." I continued to walk to school after finishing the first short video I wanted to keep for my future self.

I checked the time and realized that I was going to be late, so I ran before the school gates closed.

"Why did I do that video?" I said, "Now I'm going to be late on my very first day of high school!"

I arrived at school right on time but I got lost on the way to the auditorium for orientation day for 1st-year students.

While heading to the auditorium there was an alley where there were three boys smoking.

I slowly walked backwards so they wouldn’t notice I was there, but I slipped on my own feet and landed on the floor.

One guy noticed me and walked towards me. I trembled in fear.

The guys looked like they were part of a gang, and it also looked like we went to the same school because of the necklace they had around their necks.

Every student gets a necklace that represents what school they go to.

"Oh, hello cutie." One of the guys said.

I got up and ran when one of them walked even closer to me. I ran until I spotted a storage room that was next to a sports field.

I went inside and hid behind a cabinet.

There were footsteps from outside, but they faded quickly. I looked around and saw someone lying on the floor; I ran towards the person and knelt.

The person who was laying on the floor was a guy with silky black hair and pale skin.

It looked like he was okay, so I sat down next to him and waited. I didn't want to go out there in case they were still looking.

I woke up to find out that I fell asleep; I looked at the guy on the floor, he was still there.

He woke up a couple of minutes later

He looked at me while still being sleepy.

"Who are you?" He said in a low and gentle voice.

I noticed his eyes, bright red. An eye color I had never seen in person.

"Are you okay??" I asked "You were lying on the floor like a dead person:"

He looked at me as if I said something wrong.

He stood up and headed for the door.

"Wait!!" I said loudly

He stopped and looked at me

"What," he said with a cold and serious face. "I need to be somewhere."

"What's your name??'" I said while my face was all red.

"Leon," he said while walking to the door.

He opens the door and starts heading out of the storage room we were in.

"Leon, huh?" I said in a low voice.

For some reason I got really nervous.

I got up and headed for the door and notice that it was dark outside.

I checked the time on my phone.

"It's already 2 PM!" I shouted, "How is that even possible!!!!"

I sighed, "I missed school! My mom is going to kill me!"

I headed home. But when I arrived, I heard sirens. The ambulance and police were there.

I walked to the front of the crowd that was gathered behind the "Do Not Enter" tape.

I spotted my mom lying on the concrete floor with my dad and little brother.

While trembling I walked under the tape and ran to my family.

The police officers tried to stop me, but I slipped past them. I looked at my mother and father, then my brother. I didn't want to believe that they were dead.

I looked around and noticed another four bodies on the floor. It looked like our new neighbors.

The boy I met in the storage room was kneeling beside them. He wasn't crying, but I knew he was sad.

I cried and couldn't stop.

We didn't know what was going to happen next, but we both knew that something inside us was changing.

We both screamed out of nowhere.

I felt pain everywhere in my body. A second later everything went dark.

The only person I could see was Leon.

It looked and sounded like he was also in pain.

I walked towards him, even though it felt like someone was breaking me in half.

I looked at him, and he looked at me.

My hand moved on its own, reaching for Leon. He does the same.

When our hands touched, the pain was all gone. All I felt was warmth.

"What's happening?!" I said to Leon.

"I don't know," He said back to me.

I looked around and saw a woman and a man in cloaks in the distance.

"Hey! Do you see that?" I asked Leon.

I let go of Leon's hand and walked toward them.

"Welcome children," The woman said.

"Who are you??" I asked.

"I am your mother, Seraphina," She said.

"And I'm your father Leon." The man said.

Leon and I were both confused.

"How is that possible?' Leon says, "How can you say that you're our parents?"

"You two do not share the same blood, but we're one your parents." The man said.

The woman walked towards me and white feathers fell to the ground. She looked like an angel.

The man also walked toward Leon, and it looked like he was a demon.

"What are you??" I said as I walked backwards.

"Don't be frightened Seraphina, let me explain." The woman said. "I'm an Angel and he's a Demon,"

Suddenly felt pain in my heart, then my back.

"Are you ok??" Leon says, worried.

"They're growing," The demon said. "It's starting soon."

"M-My back," I screamed out loud.

Something comes out of my back. It's wings. White as snow.

"They're finally awakening." The man said..

As I was trying to figure out what was happening I heard Leon's voice in pain.

I looked at him and he also grew wings, but they're black, like a black hole that goes nowhere.

For me, the pain ends when they were fully out, but Leon's pain hasn't gone down.

I walked towards him, still feeling pain every time I moved a muscle.

"Hey! Are you ok?" I asked Leon.

"You should be worrying about yourself." He said, "Don't worry about me."

He stood up straight afterwards.

"Well, the pain finally stopped," Leon said.

Not long after, our wings went back in. It wasn’t as painful this time.

"Now, let's get straight to the point, shall we?." The woman said, "Your quest is to become the most powerful of all the mythical creatures. Be strong and rule together."

"Why should we listen to you?" Leon said to them.

"Because like it or not, this is your destiny." She said back to him.

"Your destiny is to become powerful and defeat Vixen." The man said.

"Who's Vixen??" I asked.

"Vixen was an Angel who turned into a dark lord by murdering his own." She said, "He is your uncle Seraphina, my older brother."

"So you expect Leon and I to defeat him?" I said.

"Yes, we do." She said, "You and Leon have the power to cleanse darkness and a lot more. That power can even surpass both of us.”

"Ok, there is no time to tell you the entire story. Both of you together are powerful. You both will defeat Vixen." The man said.

"What are you talking about, We have powers?" Leon says.

The woman talks about our powers and how powerful they are when combined. She explained that they were ghosts of the past because they were already deceased. She also said that she was the Queen of all Angels and the man was the King of all Demons, and that made Leon and me royalty. I was confused at first, and that entire conversation with them blew away the fear and sadness I had about the people I thought were my parents.

The man and woman started fading.

"I'm sorry, kids, there's no more time. Vixen already knows that both of you have awakened, so be careful. You must protect each other from harm's way and defeat the Dark Lord for both of your kingdoms. Seraphina, be careful, my princess," She said to me as she disappeared.

"Farewell son, protect the young lady will ya, and of course yourself as well." The man said, winking at Leon as he also disappeared.

We were alone in the dark, not knowing where to go.

Leon grabbed me by the hand and dragged me.

“Hey, what are you doing!” I said with a bright red face.

“I see a light over there,” Leon said.

We ran to the light and noticed a door. I slowly go to it and opened it.

We were back in front of our houses.

I looked back, and the door wasn’t there.

My house looked like a crime scene while Leon's house was untouched.

We went inside, it was empty but that was to be expected.

Leon walked to his sofa and laid down, while I went to look around. I noticed an empty bedroom.

I sit down on the bed and think about what was happening

I woke up and realized that I fell asleep. I look at the clock and it’s 8 AM. I thought about whether I want to go to school and decided I wanted to. I went to the bathroom and took a quick shower and when I was done I put on something other than my uniform. I look for Leon and see him in the room that's next to mine. He was sleeping.

I went to the kitchen and cooked some breakfast. I soon realized that I was acting as if nothing happened.

“OMG. OMG, I'm at a guys house, ok, calm down Seraphina, everything's going to be okay.” I talked to myself.

“Hey, why are you talking to yourself, and why are you dressed.” Leon said, “Are you going out?”

“Yes I am, you’re coming too,” I said. “We're going to school."

"School?… But we're supposed to save the world from some Lord." Leon said.

"No more of that. We're going to school and that's that, okay?" I said to him with a face.

"Fine, but first I have to shower, and also as a reminder, you're acting like a mother." He said.

When he left, I blushed like crazy.

"Ugh, that guy!" I said

I ate breakfast and waited until Leon finished his shower.

When I was finished, he came out all dressed and ready.

"Do you think we should be wearing our uniform to school?" I said.

"Nah, they'll understand since we just lost our family," he said.

When we were ready we started walking to school.

"You know, I still feel bad that they died. Even if they weren't my actual family, they took care of me and treated me well." I said.

"Well I didn't care about my family. As a child, they didn't care if I was there or not. My father would hit me, and my mother did nothing about. My brothers would steal everything from me, even beat me up at school and get rid of my friends." He retorted as he glared at the ground.

"I'm sorry…" I mumbled.

"Why are you saying sorry?" he said. He was concerned.

"I made you remember those times," I said as my head goes down.

"Na, It's okay. I'm not bothered by those memories anymore, so don't worry." He said while he patted my head.

I blushed and rushed to school.

We finally arrived at school and enter through the front door. As soon as we entered, everyone stared at us.

I got nervous and walked in a hurry. I felt someone hold my hand.

I looked back, and it was Leon.

"It's okay. We have to act cool, ok." He calmly said to me.

It looked like we had the same classes, so we ended up holding hands until we reached our first class.

We sat down, and everyone was whispering and staring at both of us.

Class finally ended, and we were ready to get lunch.

"Leon, Seraphina. Would you guys stay for a while?" The teacher asked.

We both went up to the teacher, not knowing what would happen.

"Are you both all right? You know you didn't have to come. You should have stayed home." The teacher said,

"So you heard… Well, we're fine, Mrs. O. We're both fine." Leon replied.

"Are you sure? You know you can tell me anything." Teacher said,

"Yes, we're fine, Mrs. O," I said.

"Okay then, go have something to eat. I'll see you later." She said,

We walked out of the classroom to the hallway to get lunch.

"It feels as if you and Mrs. O know each other very well," I said.

"Well, she was my tutor when I was younger, so yeah." He said,

"That's awesome. So do you know where the café is?" I said, looking around.

He looked at me with concern.

"What? I'm new." I shouted.

Leon smiled and led the way to the café.

"Oh? Look who we have here. It's Leon." Someone said in the distance.
