*ding* *ding* *ding*

The clock kept ringing continuously, not caring at all about the boy who was still sleeping in his bed. The light was creeping inside the room through the half-opened curtains. The young man stirred and started to massage his temples.

Oh? It was already morning?

He stretched his hand trying to stop the annoying alarm. After a few tries he finally managed to press the stop button, the room becoming once again silent. The boy stood up, looking around a little disoriented. He knew he shouldn’t have drank so much alcohol the previous night. He didn’t even enjoy drinking in the first place! It was just that whole party thing and all his friends that encouraged him. To live alone also had its perks.

His name was Chen Mingyu, a student in his second year of university. A sophomore. His family owned the Chen Corporation, which supervised all the important chains of stores from the entire country. Long story short, he was from the so called high society. He also had a bigger brother, who was going to inherit the entire wealth. Don’t get him wrong, he wasn’t jealous or anything. He didn’t have any interest in money, his dream was to become a singer, but his family insisted he should go to the Faculty of Economics, just in case he later would open his own business.

He lived in a penthouse with a view overlooking the entire city, at the night all the lights shining brightly, making the sight unforgettable. He didn’t really enjoy to stand out like this, all those people wanting to visit him or to party at him, just continuously annoying him. It seemed everyone liked his money more than himself.

Looking at the clock, he saw it was already late. He quickly stood up and went to shower and change himself in new clothes, grabbing just a bottle of orange juice as breakfast to drink it towards the school. He was aware this was not a very healthy life style, but he was always in a hurry.

In the parking lot, his new brand Lambo was waiting for him. A luxurious green car, one of those custom made models which costed millions. He packed the engine a few times and then stepped on the acceleration.

Chen Mingyu was studying at XY University, one of the most prestigious and expensive universities in the entire country. Contrary to people’s opinion, he entered through his own efforts and hours of hard work, not just because he was rich. Even the previous year he managed to score second in the annual examination, just after another boy. He was more than proud of himself, however his family had a different opinion. But this was a story for another time.

He parked the car right in front of the central gates. A few girls started giggling when they spotted him getting out of the car. He smiled and waved his hand, trying to maintain the appearances, making them blush. He could see their hungry gazes, how their minds were just thinking about his looks and money, like some creatures that were ready to devour the appetizing pray. He was utterly disgusted.
