185 - A long time ago the Catfolks thrived towards ruling everyone’s territory but failed to rule one kingdom, which was the oceans where merfolks (mermaids) existed. However, no one has ever seen a mermaid before so they thought it was a myth. Many years later, one of the catfolks who was drowning and on the verge of death was saved by a merman and soon they became friends and maybe they will fall in love? (BL)

187 - As an angel we have to live our pure lives and help people who are suffering but when I stepped on the human world I encountered a grim-reaper whose eyes were so beautiful just like an angel. I knew then and there that it was love at first sight. I began to follow him everywhere until..

“And that is why, The High Realm Conference is important to attend no matter what status you have in the royal family,” said the royal tutor as he points at the map on the board, showing the different realms.
Judging by the map, there were a total of six realms. The realm above all that holds all of the gods and goddesses, the High Realm. Those who are about to ascend to the High Realm or are descendants of them are placed in the Upper Realm. The Middle Realm is filled with all supernatural and fantasy creatures alike, dividing them from the human realm which is the Lower Realm. And, beneath the Lower realm, hosting those who take care of the afterlife is the Under Realm. There is another realm after the Under Realm, but that realm is disconnected from the rest of the realms because of the danger they hold. This realm is called the Beyond Realm.
The royal tutor turns around to face his student, “Is that understood, Prince Noah?”
Not a sight of the prince was to be found. His pet, a small canary bird flaps its wings at the royal tutor while tilting its head. The royal tutor snaps his pointing stick in half and yells out with rage, “Why that little brat! He did it again!”
A young man in his teens rams across the plain field. His lion ear flicks against the wind as his amburn eyes burn the scenario inside of them. His wavy Metallic Gold hair flutters behind him. He jumps past building after building until he reached the staple where the horses were stationed. He looks around secretly to make sure no one was around before walking towards a particular horse. This was a unique akhal-teke horse breed. It didn’t take on the normal look of an akhal-teke horse. It’s body took on the color of white with hints of pink shade and it’s eyes were navy blue.
When the horse took notice of the young man, it made a small neigh sound at him. The young man places a finger against his lip to quiet the horse. It did as it was told. He smiles at the horse and opens the gate to the horse’s stable. He patted the horse and leaned his head against it.
“Did you miss me, Moon?” said the young man as he snuggled against Moon’s neck.
Moon snuggles back as a reply that she missed him. He pulls away and smiles at her, “Ready for a ride?”
The young peeks out of Moon’s stable to make sure no one was nearby. When the coast was clear, he slowly walked out of the horse stable with Moon. Soon, they reached the outside of the horse stable. The young man gets on top of Moon, “Alright, let’s see how fast you can go today…!”
He whips on the rien as a signal to Moon. Moon instantly galloped at his command. The moment the people inside of the stable heard a horse galloping outside, they quickly went to check it out. Sure enough, Moon was gone with the wind, nowhere to be seen. One of the stable people saw that Moon was out of her stable. He sighs, “Prince Noah is at it again.”
“Prince Noah?” asked the aid beside the stable man.
“The 8th prince of the Emerald Kingdom,” the stable man answered, “Everytime the royal tutor teaches him, he always finds a way to get out and ride on Moon to leave this place.”
“But, isn’t Moon the King’s horse?” the aid asked.
“Was,” said the stable man, “After Moon threw off King Paul during an assassination attempt, because of that, Moon was about to be sent off to be killed for throwing off the King. However, Prince Noah saved the horse and has kept her since then.”
“Wow,” the aid was surprised and impressed by Noah’s action, “I’ve always heard that the 8th prince was useless and doesn’t do much, but to think he saved a horse’s life.”
“Careful with your words,” the stable man warned, “There’s ears every here, and if they heard you speaking ill of a royal member, you’ll lose your head.”
The aid quickly covers her mouth. The stableman sighs at her and resumes his work as though it was a natural thing.
TA-TA-TA-TA
Moon gallops towards a small cliff and jumps off. Noah lets go of the reins and throws both of his arms to the side. He closes his eyes to fully enjoy the wind brushing against his skin and the adrenaline rush coursing through his veins. Moon lands safely onto the other side of the cliff. She walks in a circle to catch her breath. Even Noah was a little bit out of breath.
“Shall we look for a rest place?” Noah asked Moon.
She neighs at him and walks down the dirt road. It led up to a river. Noah gets down and pat Moon on the side, “Go enjoy yourself.”
She snorts at him and heads towards the river for a drink and a bath. Noah found a place to sit. He sat down and took out a snack. The sun was rising up high in the sky. The cool breeze felt nice. He watches Moon enjoying herself in the river. Ever since that incident, Moon wasn’t allowed to be out anymore. Unless he left his lesson, and took her out for a run, Moon was going to be stuck in the horse stable forever. Seeing her enjoying herself made him feel happy.
“What’s this?” said a chilling voice behind Noah, “Isn’t that the horse that was supposed to be killed? What’s it doing here?”
Noah looked behind him. The 3rd prince Brick, and 5th princess Amanda were riding on their horses behind Noah. They were out on a hunt and were on their way back. Noah quickly gets up and greets them to divert their attention.
“Greeting brother, sister,” said Noah.
Brick and Amanda look at Noah with disdain. Their horse trots over to him. They stop right in front of Noah just a few feet away.
“Did you let that thing out?” Brick asked.
Noah nods. The moment he did, Brick kicked him in the face causing a cut on Noah’s lip. Amanda glares at him, “Why would you bring out such a dangerous beast out here? Are you out of your mind?”
“...I couldn’t bear seeing her stuck in the stable so I took her out,” Noah answered back.
“It’s a crime to take out the King’s personal belonging without his permission,” said Amanda with a harsh tone, “Do you want to die or something?”
“Father had gifted her to me,” said Noah.
“We don’t give a f*** if father gave her to you,” said Brick as he kicks Noah in the face again, “That sh*t ran for it’s life, leaving father behind. It should be killed for being disloyal and a coward!”
Brick whips out his bow and arrow. He aimed it at Moon who was still bathing in the river. Noah stands in front of him, “Please spare her brother!”
“F*ck off!” Brick kicks Noah again, but harder this time.
The ruckus caught Moon’s attention. She turns around and sees her master being mistreated by his siblings. Angered, she quickly gets out of the river and runs over to Noah’s side. Brick had gotten off his horse to give Noah a beating. Noah was on the ground curled up trying to protect his head and face. Since little, Brick always loved kicking Noah in the face, but since Noah was covering his face, he aimed for his stomach. Amanda just sat on her horse watching with a smirk. A fast sound caught her attention. She looks up with wide eyes and yells at Brick, “Get out of the way!”
Brick lifted up his head and was kicked right in the chest. Before the kick landed, Brick was able to move a little bit back so he didn’t suffer from the brute force, but it was still strong enough to make him fly and was coughing out blood when he landed. Noah uncurled and saw Moon above him. She snorts and neigh at Amanda and Brick as a warning. Brick’s aid rushes over to his side to help him up. He continues to cough out blood. With his weakened state, he points at Moon, “Kill that horse!”
“Brother…!” Noah yelled back in fear.
He gets up with much trouble and gives Moon a small push, “Leave…!”
Amanda knocks an arrow to her bow and aims it at Moon. Noah sees this and pushes Moon again, “Go!”
Moon stood her ground, refusing to leave. Amanda smirks at the horse and loses her arrow. The arrow was too fast for a horse to dodge. Noah gave Moon another push but this time a little bit stronger. He was able to make her move away just in time before the arrow reached her. It slips past Moon’s neck and slams into a tree behind her. Amanda was about to knock another arrow, but her horse made a sound alarming her. Moon was rushing towards her with another kick.
Amanda whips her horse, causing her to turn around and run. Moon’s kick misses. Instead, she was met with a bunch of sharp weapons stabbing and slashing at her. It was Brick’s aids attacking Moon.
“No…!” battered and injured, Noah whips out his claws and swings at them.
They quickly moved away since they couldn’t hurt a royal member. Moon whiny’s weakly behind Noah. Her body was covered in injuries. Noah was filled with horror. He turns around keeping his ground, “She’s just a harmless horse! Must you go this far!”
“Harmless horse…!’ Brick chokes out, “She harmed a royal member, me! That horse needs to die!”
“Brother please!”
“Enough!” Brick screamed out, “Get rid of it now!”
The aid walks towards Moon, but Noah stands in front of her. Brick growls at him, “If he continues to get in the way, get rid of him as well!”
“But your highness-”
“Do it!”
They couldn’t refuse his order. They walk closer towards Noah and Moon. There was no way to negotiate out of this. Noah’s hand shook as he tried to come up with a way to get out here. Before his thoughts could collect themselves, he was suddenly lifted off from the ground by Moon. His eyes widen in shock. She gallops away in her injured state.
“Follow them!” Amanda yelled out.
The Aids did as they were ordered. Moon was fast, but not as fast as she should be. Her wounds were making her slow. She was losing a lot of blood. Noah cried out to her to stop and leave him behind, but she was a stubborn horse. Even if she couldn’t speak their language, she knew what was going on. When she threw the King from her back during the assassination attempt, she did it because of the arrow shot to her butt. The shock and the pain made her forget that there was a person on her back.
When she regained her calm, he realized what she had done. Moon had no choice but to accept her fate, until a little small creature came to her rescue. She recognized that creature as the weak offspring of the king. There was a time she played with that small weak offspring but it was only one time. She never thought that, that one time of playing with the small weak offspring would save her life. That’s why she was thankful to him. Thankful to Noah for extending her life this long. Allowing her to live more freely, and even let her roam as much as he could let her.
“Moon! Stop! At this rate you’ll bleed to death!” Noah cried out.
He was a small, weak master, but a kind one. So kind, she loved him dearly. She wasn’t going to abandon her master twice. This time, she was going to save him.
“Moon…” Noah cried out in a small voice.
Moon quickly stops galloping as she ends up at the edge of the cliff. Below her was a deep drop into the river leading up to the ocean. Their pursuer soon caught up to them. Amanda was in the lead. She knocks her arrow onto her bow. She aims, “Get off that horse now, or I won’t spare you.”
“Never…!” Noah thought that since he was a prince, his prince status should protect Moon as long as he was riding on her back.
However, he was wrong. Amanda could care less about his life. Taking the life of another royal member was a heavy crime, but she could always tell their father that it was just an accident. At most, she would only be under house arrest. Since no one really cared about Noah, her sentencing wouldn’t be heavy at all. She smirks at him sending chills down his spine.
“Moon, run!” Noah screamed.
Before Moon could make a move, Amanda had already released her arrow. The arrow punctured Moon on the throat causing her to trout backward, and slip on the edge of the cliff. Before she falls, Moon grabs Noah's shoulder with her neck and yanks her off his back. Noah watches in horror as she falls to her death.
“MOON!”
Unable to handle her death, Noah falls down after her. Amanda’s eyes widen in shock. She didn’t think that Noah was stupid enough to fall after the horse. She was impressed by the horse’s loyalty but for Noah to fall after the horse? That was just pure stupidity. Amanda turns around, “Let’s go.”
“But… What about his highness?”
“He voluntarily jumped,” said Amanda, “It’s got nothing to do with us.”
The aid looks at each with concern but nods. He fell, and Noah forced himself to fall even fast to reach Moon. When he reached her, he realized that she had already passed on. Tears fill Noah’s eyes as he hugs her. She was the only individual that had ever shown him kindness. The only individual that made his life happy. He hugs her tightly as they fall into the water together.

Schools of fishes swim around the ocean floor reflecting the rainbow colors on their scales. The coral sea's different shades of color made it look like an underwater disco ball. Small and big creatures alike swim in harmony. The dark blue cold water only gave off the feeling of warmth to the underwater dweller. Among them were larger figures of humanoid figures. Some had half of the body of a human of different gender, and others had fish parts instead. These were merfolks. Just like the sea fishes, the merfolks were also colorful. From scales to the tips of their fingers and to their tails, and their hairs along with their unique eye colors.
Among the colorful ones, there was a unique merfolk that gathered attention from the rest. This merfolk alone was a merman with beautiful rose quartz eyes. He swam through the underwater city with ease as mermaids and mermen followed him with admiration. Everything he did made them gasped in revelation or even sigh with a smile.
“He's so charming…” said a mermaid with neon white hair.
Another mermaid sigh, “I know… Whoever becomes his lover would be so lucky…”
“Haa…” they all sigh at the thought of becoming his lover.
Lost in their admiration, the only thing that knocked them back to reality was the sight of seeing two security shark merfolks dragging a merman in their arm. The merfolk were covered in torturement wounds. Everyone who saw this whispered among themselves.
“Another one was found going to the surface again…”
“Without permission? Goodness, are they trying to get everyone here to kill?”
“Well, I’m glad they caught him before we got exposed!”
The young man that was surrounded by the merfolk also watched the misconduct the merman created himself. It was a law in the merfolk kingdom to never go to the surface without permission. This law was imposed because of the horrible incidents that took place every time a merfolk went to the surface. They would either get killed because of the rumor of immortality, or be turned into slaves due to their beauty and in turn use as bait to bait out more merfolks. Since this law was imposed, strict security and surveillance was placed at every outskirt of the merfolk kingdom to keep an eye on those heading towards the surface.
However, leaving the kingdom to go to the surface isn’t completely cut off. As long as one gets permission from the Elders or the High Priest/Priestess, then one can leave the kingdom and head to the surface but only for a limited amount of time. Those that are guaranteed the chance to go to the surface are the ones who passed the changing test, in charge of trade, or meet special requirements. But these chances were hard to get and come by.
The changing test requires the merfolks to be able to change their lower body into legs and not fins. Once passed, they must be able to maintain that state for at least twenty-four hours, and no less. Being in charge of the trades was to be in charge of trading with the surface dwellers, or even about talks concerning truces and whatnot.
If a merfolk goes up to the surface without permission, they would either get imprisoned, or banished from the merfolk kingdom. If they get imprisonment that would be considered lucky, but being banished was one of the worse punishments to get. A merfolk would lose their tail, memories erased, and throw to the surface world, never to return to the underwater kingdom. Though, that’s what’s been told to the merfolk since no one really knows what happens once they get banished.
“Wonder if he’ll get banished or imprisoned?” a mermaid asked.
“Maybe banished?”
“Nah, perhaps imprisoned.”
“...Hey, where did Lord Tears go?”
They all turned around and saw that Tears was gone. While everyone was distracted by the situation, Tears took this chance to leave. He swims past the coral city towards the open clear space of the ocean. A security guard at the open clear space saw Tears and swam towards him.
“Lord Tears,” said the security guard, recognizing him, “What brings you to the open clear space?”
Tears hands over a pure white snow shell to the security guard. The security guard takes the shells and gives them back to Tears. He moves to the side, “Save journey, Lord Tears.”
Tears nod at him and swim up to the surface of the ocean. As he got closer and closer to the bright shimmering surface, a smile formed on his lips. He closes his eyes and with a loud splash, Tears jump out of the ocean water, welcoming the warm sun against his skin. Tears drop back into the water and float on top of the water. The birds flying in the sky swoop down and greet him. Tears waves at them and swims towards the rocky edge of the land.
Tears found a good rock to sit on to bathe in the sun. He pulls his seaweed bag to the side and opens it up. There were gold coins and other gemstones inside for currency. Tears was planning on going to the town nearby to buy himself some food. He saved up a lot of money this time just to enjoy the festival that was going to happen soon. Tears close his eyes and concentrate his magic on his tails surrounding it with a bright turquoise light. A few seconds later, legs took place where his tail once was. Tears places his arm on the rock to support himself to stand up straight.
“Alright,” said Tears with a smile, “Now then, spicy food here I come!”
Tears whips his magic around to make himself some clothes. He puts on a cotton beige shirt and black pants. He taps on his hair to change his navy blue hair into a muddy brown color, then ties it up into a ponytail. He looks at the water reflection and smiles. Now, he looked like a normal person. There was no sign of his merfolkness anywhere. Without wasting another minute, Tears heads over to the nearby town to enjoy their festival.
It was more lively than usual. There were all different kinds of races here in the town. Catfolks, Deerfolks, Wolfolks, and etc. Here and there, there were also humans as well, but these humans were either witches, wizards, or human’s that have magical powers. Tears went through a couple of booths buying just spicy food such as, spicy pork kabob, pickled chilli, extra spicy hot pot, and chilli garlic bread. Each food he tried, he would add more spice to it, or mellow it out with a sweet cold drink.
Tears quickly took a break and found a place to settle down. He watches as the people enjoy themselves with the festival. They were either dancing or playing a game. In the underwater kingdom, their festival was just as lively as this, but there wasn’t any spicy food to enjoy. Lost in watching the fun happening before him, Tears and the people in town were cut off guard by the sudden turmoil. People started to shout in fear and ran to safety. Tears looked towards the direction where the shaking was coming from.
Suddenly, the air started to become difficult to breath. Tears falter on the ground as he places his hand against his chest. He uses magic to purify the air around him. He looked around and saw that the people near him were also starting to collapse one after another. Those that could use their magic were trying to purify the air around them like Tears. There was only one thing that could explain this sudden change in the air, the Sealing of Chaos.
Tears took his stuff with him and quickly headed back to the ocean. He needed to let the elders know that the Sealing of Chaos was acting up with a good chance of coming undone. He ran out of the town, past the forest and followed the river leading up the ocean. On his way there, something caught his eyes. He stops his footsteps and turns around. There was someone floating in the river. The air became unbearable again. Tears tighten his grip on his chest. His eyes were closed tight from the pain. It took a few seconds before his magic could purify the air around him again.
He glances at the person floating in the river as the movement of the water pushes them against the rocks near the edge of the land. Tears looked towards the ocean that wasn’t far off then back at the person in the river. Tears gave out a reluctant sigh and headed towards the person. As he got closer to them, he noticed that there was a horse underneath the person. As though it was trying to keep the person from drowning. Tears stretch out his hand and use his magic. The water in the river shook and rose up with the person and horse inside of it. The water pulls them out and places them on the land.
Tears run up to the person and pull them to their back. His eyes widened in shock as he saw that the person he saved was a Catfolk. His hard breathing slowly returns to normal as he narrows his gaze at the Catfolk. He wasn’t breathing, but it wasn’t too late to save him. The miasma in the air started to choke Tears again. He closes his eyes and surrounds them with a large sphere of water to keep out the miasma. Tears opens his eyes and stares at the Catfolk. He saw the bruises and injuries on the Catfolk and on the horse. Tears reached out to the horse and felt for a pulse. It was dead.
“Were you protecting your master…?” said Tears as he pulls his hand away.
He glances at the Catfolk for a bit before placing his hand against the Catfolk’s mouth. He opens up his mouth and leans in. His gaze still on the Catfolk, “...Since your horse saved you even to their death, I’ll save you as well. Be grateful to your horse.”
Tears place his mouth on the Catfolk and breathe into him. After a few breaths, he pulls away and pushes his chest. And then, he repeats the action over and over until the Catfolk chokes out the water inside of his lungs. He curls up to the side and coughs out the water. Tears gave out a sigh of relief. Catfolks opens his eyes and slowly leans up from the ground. He saw the sphere of water around him and then turned around. He looks at Tears and blinks at him.
“Are you alright?” Tears asked, “Do you feel hurt anywhere?”
The Catfolk stares at him then looks around. He saw the horse's body next to him, not moving. He looks back at Tears, “Is your horse alright?”
“My horse?”
The Catfolks nod. Tears stare at him, “Isn’t it your horse?”
The Catfolks looked at him as though he had no idea what Tears was saying. Tears looked at him closely and saw that he was bleeding from the side of his head. Tears reach out to touch his injuries, but the Catfolk jolts back in fear. Tears saw the fear reflected in his eyes as though Tears was going to hit him.
“I’m just checking your injuries,” said Tears, “I’m not going to hurt you.”
Hearing Tears said that, the Catfolks relaxed his body. Tears felt his head and sure enough there was a bump there. He pulls his hand back. It was covered in blood. Tears surround his hand with healing magic and heal the Catfolk’s injuries.
“You seemed to have lost your memories,” said Tears, “Do you recall anything?”
The Catfolk concentrated to see what he remembered. He shakes his head for a bit and then nods at the next seconds.
“Well?”
“...I remember my name is Noah, but…”
“But…?”
“Who’s Moon?” Noah asked Tears.
“I don’t know,” Tears answered.
His eyes couldn’t help but look at the horse. Tears point at the horse, “Do you think that’s the horse's name?”
Noah looks at the horse, “...I don’t know.”
“Then let’s just say that the horse’s name is Moon,” said Tears, “Now, we need to find a place to bury it.”
“Kay,” said Noah like a child, “But, what surrounds us?”
Tears get up, “It’s a water barrier. It’s keeping the miasma from entering this space.”
“Miasma?”
“You really don’t remember anything…”
Noah nods at him again. Tears gave out a sigh. He didn’t think that he was going to save a Catfolk, and one who lost his memories no less. There’s no helping it. What’s done was done. Tears got up ready to release the barrier so they could bury the horse, but the quaking of the Seals made it difficult to stand. Tears lost their footing and slipped. He fell on top of Noah.
“Tsk…” said Tears as he felt pain in his hand.
He opened his eyes when the shaking stopped. He was in shock and surprised. Noah had his hand wrapped around Tears’ waist while looking out at the forest.
“What was that?” Noah asked, oblivious to the situation.
He turns his face towards Tears and their lips barely touch one another. Tears slam his palm right into Noah’s face and quickly gets up. He dismisses the barrier without sparing another second as he covers his mouth with a red face.
“I’m in a hurry so let’s hurry up and bury the horse,” said Tears without looking at Noah.
Noah gets up and walks over to the horse. He touches the horse’s face with his hand. A strange sad feeling washes over him. His eyes started to turn hot as liquid poured out from his eyes. Tears turned around and was taken back from seeing Noah crying.
“What’s wrong?”
Noah touches the tears rolling down from his eyes, “I don’t know…”
He stares at the horse, “I’m feeling very sad for some reason…”
Tears and Noah found a place to bury the horse and placed a stone on its grave carved with the name Moon. Since that was done, Tears starts to head towards the ocean, only to be stopped by Noah. He looks at him, “What?”
“Where are you going?” Noah asked.
“To put a stop to this miasma and tremor,” Tears answered with an irritated voice, “Now let go.”
Tears yanked his arm free from Noah’s grip. He runs towards the ocean without looking back. Noah followed him. Tears glanced behind him, “Stop following me! Go back!”
“To where?”
“I don’t know, just don’t follow me!”
“But I don’t know anyone or know what’s going on,” said Noah as he caught up to Tears.
As expected of a Catfolk, they were fast even if they weren’t riding a horse. Tears uses his magic on Noah to stop him from following him. He set up a water wall in front of Noah. He stops in his footsteps and watches as Tears leaves him behind. His shoulder slumps down with sadness and loneliness. He stood there hoping that Tears may come back to him, but the next thing he knew, the ground underneath him collapsed.
“...!” Noah felt a gust of wind rushing right beneath him, “Ahhh!”
