However, after 35+ years at his company, everything were changed. I watched my parents go through bankruptcy, not only once but twice. After paying everything, my parents decided to leave in China, and we started a new business and life in France. Although I knew what was happening, I couldn't leave....

...Xia Lyn 8 years old....

Xia: Mom? Dad? I don't want to leave in this country.

Xia's Mother: I'm so sorry Sweetie, but we have to move in France, and we are doing our best for you.

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, I'm sorry.

Xia: But Dad? Mom? How about my friends? And this home?

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, this is my final decision.

Xia: There are many houses here in China.

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, I know it's hard for you to decide, but we don't want you to be sad and anxious. Come here, Daddy and I will hug you.

Xia cried, and her parents dried her tears.

I looked into my parent's eyes, and I agreed, I also do not wanted them to be sad.

Xia's Dad: Babe, what do you think?

Xia's Mother: Honestly, I really like this country.

Her father immediately went to their new house, to surprise her wife and daughter. “Seeing them smiling, I know they are extremely happy.” Xia said to herself.

Xia's Mother: Honey, this house is so simple and perfect for us.

Xia's Dad: Babe, I want us to live happily and healthily here. Oh! Sweetheart, do you like your new home?

Her parents were seemed to be happy, but she felt blue, because she misses her home, school, and her friends.

Xia: Maybe yes? Maybe no? But . . . Daddy, I miss everything.

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, we can make new recollections here, and your mother and I will work hard for you.

Xia: Okay Dad.

...Monday...

Xia: Mom, can I go outside?

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, but don't go far. Promise me?

Xia: Okay, I promise.

...As I walked on the dirt road,...

...The birds were singing,...

...The trees were dancing,...

...But the sky was unhappy,...

...Missing her country....

...I hate myself, I'm alone!...

...But how did I get here?...

...The longer I stay...

...I see my face,...

...In this unknown place....

...I continued strolling the dirt road, and I saw a little boy: he has a white skin, black hair, sharp nose, and black eyes. I didn't know what he was doing in the field. However, I secretly stared at him, and perhaps he was watching the cloudy sky? When he saw me, he looked into my eyes, and I knew he found me....

Xia: I'm really sorry! I really don't know that you are here! I apologize, but . . . what are you doing?

...Jeremy Matthew 8 years old....

Jeremy was shocked when he saw Xia Lyn. He said to himself. “Her eyes sparkled like diamonds. I knew that God sent her to me!”

Jeremy: Haha! It's okay, no problem. I'm watching the birds, what about you?

Xia: Ah, me?! I'm just walking here and . . . I accidentally saw you.

Jeremy: The France is beautiful, isn't it?

Xia: Yes, it's really beautiful.

Jeremy: I guess you are not from here.

Xia: Yes, but how did you know?

Jeremy: Because you are unfamiliar? But If you don't mind, can I ask you?

Xia: Sure.

Jeremy: Where are you from?

I didn't know that he will ask my country, but I found out that he is a very talkative person.

Xia: I'm from China, why?

Jeremy: Whoah! No wonder you are beautiful.

I had no idea that he is a great joker! It was my first time meeting him, but I received a huge compliment, and my heart was thumping when I heard the word “beautiful”.

Xia: Hey! I know you are kidding me.

He laughed like an angel.

Jeremy: Haha! I'm serious, but are you sad?

Xia: Hmmmm. . . . You are good at guessing. Yes, because I miss my country, friends, and especially my home.

Jeremy: It is normal to miss them, but you can start a new life. And don't be sad, make this country like your new home.

Xia: Thank you, you are so kind.

Jeremy: Oh, It's nothing.

I still don't forget the compliment that he gave, and I instantly changed the topic, because it was really embarassing!

Xia: By the way, what's your name?

Jeremy: My name is Jeremy, nice to meet you.

Xia: My name is Xia, nice to meet you too.

Jeremy: Do you want to be my friend?

Xia: Sure, we can be friends.

They talked and laughed a lot. However, they didn't noticed the time, but they say goodbye to each other.

Xia: It's already afternoon, and I know my Mom is worrying. Um, Jeremy, I'll see you again.

Jeremy: You too, good bye Xia.

Xia: Good bye.

Xia's Mother: Sweetieee, where did you go?

Xia: Mom, you won't believe, I met a little boy, and we are now friends. He is super kind, and handsome.

Xia's Mother: Honey, do you hear that?

Xia's Dad: So my princess have a prince charming now?

Xia's Mother: Honeyyyy, I told you.

Xia's Dad: Babe, don't take it seriously.

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, your mother and I are happy for you, that you starting making new memories. Next time, bring your friend at home, I want to see him.

Xia: Okay Dad.

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, why your cheeks are red?

Her parents were happy for her. However, Xia Lyn felt shy when she heard her Mom's words.

Xia: Mom, you are changing the subject.

It has been two weeks since we moved there, we met our neighbors, and they are really kind people. I also introduced my friend to my parents, and I was really glad they liked him.

A Few Days Later

Jeremy: Xia! Xia!

Xia: Jeremy? Why are you yelling?

Jeremy: Look!

Xia: Wow! Is that yours?!

Jeremy: Yes, It's mine. Xia, do you want to ride with me?

Xia: Hold on! I need my parent's permission.

Jeremy: Okay, I'll wait you here.

Xia: Aaahhh! Jeremy! Slow down! Slow down! You're so fast!

Jeremy: Hold me tight Xia!

Xia: I think we should stop! Because if we fall, we will get hurt badly!

Jeremy: Ahaha! We won't Xia! I'm a famous expert!

Jeremy: She is my friend, however she left the country last year.

Xia: Okay, perhaps you really miss her? Am I right?

Jeremy: Forget it.

I was speechless, even though he was my friend, I do not have a permission to know their past memories. Looking at him, I had no idea that he was missing someone, and I felt like I was not alone.

Jeremy: I almost forgot.

Xia: What is it?

Jeremy: Luckily it is still in a plastic.

Xia: Candies?

Jeremy: Yes, here have some.

Xia: Wow! You like candies too?!

Jeremy: Not really.

Xia: Jeremy, thank you so much!

Jeremy: These candies are actually for you.

Xia: Awww, I know you are joking again!

They were laughing each other.

Jeremy: It's getting late already.

Xia: I really enjoyed.

Jeremy: I'm happy you enjoyed, next time again.

Xia: Sureee! But don't do that again, okay?

Jeremy: Notable, ahahaha!

Xia: I'm serious Jeremy! Hahaha!

Jeremy: Hahaha! Tomorrow, I'll wait for you.

Xia: Mom! Dad told me that we will leave later, Is it true or not?

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, it's true. We will go to the party, and visit the Matthew Family.

Xia: A new neighbor?

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, they are my new friends.

Xia: I have never met the Matthew Family.

Xia's Mother: Because you always play with your friend? Am I correct?

Xia: Yes.

Xia's Mother: They invited us, so we have to come.

Xia: Mom, I will not go.

Xia's Mother: Sweetieeee, we don't want you to be alone here.

I had no choice but to come.

Xia's Mother: Sweetie, I'm not angry. I just don't want you to be alone here.

Xia: Mom, I'm not mad.

“It's already 5:30 PM, you should wash your face now, and change your dress. After that, let Mommy fix your hair.”

Xia: Okay.

She walked into the bathroom.

Xia's Dad: Babe! Our daughter is really beautiful!

Xia's Mother: Honey! She is really gorgeous! Gosh! I remember my childhood days!

Xia's Dad: Haha! My princess is the most beautiful daughter in the world! And my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world!

Xia's Mother: Honey, I know you are good a good liar!

Xia: Dad? Mom? Am I really beautiful today?

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, you are so beautiful!

Xia's Mother: Indeed! Sweetie, look at your face in the mirror, you are so beautiful! And mirror can't lie.

My parents were always praising me, I never knew that I'm beautiful. Perhaps they were praising me because I'm their daughter.

It was my first time attending a party, and there were a lot people inside.

Xia: Mom! Dad! The mansion is really big! They are so rich!

Xia's Dad: Sweetheart, let's go now.

The people were clapping. “I can't believe, I'm standing here with my parents, and they are all clapping us. To be honest, this mansion is really huge and beautiful!” Xia said to herself.

Mr. Chao: It's an honor to meet you everyone. It's such an honor to be invited to speak to you all here today. Thank you everybody. Thank you Mr. John, and Mrs. Josephine.

Mrs. Fei: Mrs. Josephine and Mr. John, thank you guys for inviting us. We're trully honor.

“Mrs. Fei and Mr. Chao, just call me “Josephine” it's okay.”

“Mr. Chao and Mrs. Fei, just call me John.”

“Sure, you guys can call me Fei.”

“Mrs. Josephine and Mr. John, just call me Chao.”

“Hello Mr. Chao and Mrs. Josephine.” Xia said politely.

Mr. John: Hello Xia, nice to meet you.

Mrs. Josephine: Xia, nice to meet you. You are so adorable!”

I smiled, parce que they are so kind.

- Parce que is a French word, meaning “because”.

“Chao, let's drink!” Mr. John said.

“Fei, you are so beautiful today. Your daughter as well.”

“Thank youuuu. Josephine, you are so beautiful too.”

“Fei, thank so much.”

Xia: Mrs. Josephine, thank you so much.

“You're welcome. If you don't mind, do you want to meet my children?”

I was nervous, meeting new strangers are my weaknesses.

“Okay, but where are them Mrs. Josephine?”

“Xia, wait me here. I'll find them for you.”

“Mrs. Josephine, it's okay.”

Justin stared Xia Lyn on the stairs, and Xia stared back.

“That boy, he looks familiar.” Xia said to herself.

He pointed at Justin. “Wait, Mrs. Josephine! Do you know him?”

She was startled. “Oh! That's my second son! Xia, I'll introduce him to you.”

...Justin Matthew 7 years old....

Justin: Hello, Ms. Xia Lyn, my name is Justin.

Xia: Hello, nice to meet you Justin.

Justin: Nice to meet you too. It would be cool if you could meet my brother. Do you want to see him?

It was my first time meeting Justin, but he wanted me to see his brother. “Seriously?!” I said to myself.

Xia: Ah, sure!

Justin: I want you to see him.

Xia: Okay.

“Wow! They are getting to know each other Josephine!”

“Fei, they are so cute! Haha, let's go and eat.”

Xia: Justin! Where are we going?

Justin: He is in the garden.

Xia: But why is he not here?

Justin: I don't really know, maybe he is bored.

I wondered what Justin was saying. “This mansion is really big, but his brother is bored? Maybe Justin was being sarcastic.”

Justin: Ms. Xia, just wait me here.

Justin searched his brother, but he couldn't find him in the garden.

Justin: Jeremy! Jeremy! Are you here?!

She heard Justin.

Xia: Jeremy? So his brother's name is Jeremy? Maybe this is coincidence.

I couldn't wait Justin, so I decided to help him. However, I was surprised when I saw his brother.

Jeremy: Xia?!

Xia: Jeremy?!

Jeremy: What are you doing here?

Xia: I'm the one who should ask.

Justin: So she is the little girl you are addressing Jeremy?

Xia: What do you mean Justin?

Jeremy: It's nothing.

Justin: Ms. Xia Lyn, it's nothing.

Xia: Justin, you don't have to explain, and now I know, you two are siblings. By the way, just call me Xia.

Justin: Haha! Okay. So you guys are friends.

...She walked closer to Justin, and whispered silently. “Jeremy and I are really good friends.” Justin's heart was beating fast....

...Thump!...

...Thump!...

...Thump!...

...Jeremy was speechless, and he tried to walk away....

...The atmosphere changed. “Justin! let's go!” Jeremy said to Justin....

...I didnt know what was happening but he stared my eyes, and he was actually creepy!...

Justin: Xia, see you again.

She avoided Jeremy's eyes.

Xia: Okay.

Jeremy: I said, let's go!

Xia: Wait! Jeremy, are you okay?

Jeremy: I'm fine, but I have to rest.

Xia: That's good, see you again.

I knew he was lying. I don't really know why he was mad, but the only thing I know, I didn't do anything wrong!
