Explosion happens and everything black out.

Ari wakes up from her nightmare.

                                                                                  Ari’s POV

That same nightmare again. It comes here and there but it

usually doesn’t bother me like it did today.

“Ari Scarlet you better get your

but down here right now or you’re going to be late for school!”

“Coming Mom”.

“Uhhhhh”.

I really did not feel like coming down and gong to school today but then my mom

wa going to kill me and then brig me back alive and do it gain until she roved

her point. Well nothing could go wrong today, so why not just go to school. Well,

I thought, here goes nothing. I got of bed and was ready to get to school after

my shower and was about to go downstairs. I looked at myself in the mirror and

thought, well what could possibly go wrong today? Boy was I wrong.

As I got downstairs my mom was trying to get breakfast ready

as well ad get my little sister Tina hair done while my father was trying to

get his all his papers for the meeting ready.

“Hey beautiful girl, ready to

take on your last year of high school”, said my dad.

“Yeah, I think so”.

 My dad’s name was Cody while mom’s name was Candy. Highschool sweethearts they were

and try to be all lovey dovey in front of us. GROSS!!!

“Mom, I said, why not do

that once we leave the house.”

“No can do darling” she said.

When I looked at

the clock, I realized that it was already 8:00 AM and that school started in 15

minutes. Grabbing the toast that just popped out of the toaster and trying to put

my shoes on as well as grabbing my school bag, I ran out the door.

There was a fight happening sown the corner and I was itching

to join but I couldn’t be late fore the fist day of school and get detention. Did

I happen tell you that I am a fighter. I used to be in a lot of street fights,

but I stopped after my parents saw me. I felt ashamed and decided to stop fighting

for a while. I and doing well keeping that promise but I really don’t know how

long I can keep it for. As I was passing through the roads, I was grateful that

there was barely any traffic so that I wouldn’t be late.  AS I was rushing to get to school, I felt a chilling

sensation behind my spine. It was the feeling that someone was watching me, but

I really didn’t pay attention to it as well. Just as I mad to school, the security

guard was closing the gate. NO, NO, NO. This can’t be happening; I have to get they’re

on time or I am so dead. Before I lost hope. I decided to take chance by jumping

over the gate. When I jumped over the gate, I got to the other side and was so relieved,

but I lost my balance and fell. When I fell, I bumped into him.

Ari’s POV

As I fell on top of

him. I managed to grab the flagpole to steady us, but my hand slipped, and we ended

up tumbling onto each other and falling on the ground. I knew that the principal

was going to yell my head off as soon as she saw that I managed to make the flag

come down because I grabbed the string. That was the least of my worries though

because somehow me and him ended up rolling which I have no idea of how that happened.

“Ouch”! I said.

“Will you get off me?!”

I opened my eyes and

realized I was on top of someone. It was the boy I bumped into. “Any day now

sweetheart”, he said underneath me.

“I don’t have all the time in the world princess, you might

as well get off”.

“Sorry” I said feeling embarrassed that this was my first

time falling. In all my years of almost being late to school but still managed

to be on time and get there before the gate closes, was the first time I fell.

“Sure took your time there didn’t you darling”.

“I said I was sorry, okay, now just get off my back!”

“ARIIII”!

When I turned around, I saw my bestie Ally trailed by Serina

who was then trailed by Vicky, short for Victoria and Serina’s sister who was a

year younger than us. Although she can be a little annoying, I still love her because

she gets me the best when the other girls don’t even have clue of what I am

saying half the time.

“Ari, you okay?” said Ally. She helped pull me up and I brushed

of the dust from my school uniform.

“I mean that was

quite a fall you took there since someone decided not to keep their new year’s resolution

of getting in time for the fist day of school”, Vicky said so sarcastically.

“Girls, we might have a problem”, Serina said with a worried

voice.

As we looked around, I realized that it was deathly silent.

Everyone was watching us, and their eyes were staring and zeroing on us so creepily.

I was about to yell at them to mind their own businesses, but instead I came

into eye contact with the boy I fell on top of earlier. Do you even know what

the worst part was? All of his friend were staring at us and the girls around them

had dagger in their eyes and were gleaming at us almost ready to kill us any

second now if we even made a move.

“Girls” I said, “how about we r—

“RIIIIIIINNNGGGG”!

Saved by the school bell I thought. How ironic because I hated

the school bell.

“Well then chickas, see you later in class”, I yelled as I was walking to my next class.

 I went to math which was fun because I hated the subject. The first thing I saw when I entered that classroom was him Leaning on

the wall right next to my desk with his hands in his pocket and a cocky grin on

his face.

“Leo”.

                                                                                Ari's POV

 “Leo”.

“Leo Hernandez”, he said.

“Ari Scar-”.

“I know”, Leo said

It drove me crazy because I didn’t even say his name at all.

How does he even know this? It hit me because our class roster was right

outside.

The next thing he said was, “now then, how are you going to

pay me back for what you did earlier”.

“DREAM ON”. “Like I would ever pay you compensation for something

that I know that I did is so unnecessary and irrelevant”. “You’re just making

such a big deal out of it you Drama Queen”.

That cocky grin returned to his face and he said, “Well then

princesses, we’ll see about that”.

What does he mean by that? Why am I still thinking about him?  Ari calm down and breathe don’t let that

boy get under you skin and drive you crazy. No use getting frustrated over it. Just

then the math teacher walked in. She looked pretty no doubt about that except

her face looked really mean.  I remember what

Ally said about her when we were at her house comparing class schedules. She said

that she was the best math teacher there was, but she had a reputation of

failing people who didn’t do good in her class. There is something about her that

I feel that we both share. Sadness is in her eyes, yet I don’t know what it is

at all.  Well, I still have time to find

out before the school year is over and we go to college.

“Attention class!”, the teacher said

“All of you are 3rd years in high school which is

your final year before you all go to college.”

“By the end of next year, you are graduating and going to

any choice college you want to go to.”

“It’s time to get serious and start thinking about your

future!”

“Well that all I want to say to you”.

“Class begins”.

“Take out your textbooks and turn to page 24.”

“Today, we will start learning about ellipse.”

I zoned out as soon as she started talking. I really did not

want to learn on the first day of school, but I had no choice. As I stared outside

through the window, I realized how fast time went by and that I will be out of

high school and going to college soon enough. I wonder where that jerk is going

to. I mean he is probably smart enough. I realized that I wad staring at Leo

and quickly looked away but he caught eye contact with me. What am I doing and why

am I looking at him? I got better things to do anyway.

“Got a good look sweetheart”.

I almost fell out of my chair hearing this. I will just pretend

that I didn’t hear him. Before I knew it, class was over. The teacher told us

to get going to our next class. Just as I about to get out of my seat and get

to my next class, which was science, Leo was on my desk staring at me.

“Well then Ari Scarlet, how are you going to pay me back”?
