"Wake up, Meleasy", came out the sweetest voice☺️ of Aunt Halon in the latest hour of the morning. As soon as she dragged my blanket, I opened my eyes🙁 and closed them😌 at the very moment as if I was going to sleep again😪. I curdled into my bed😴. My aunts' voice sharpened this time🧐-

"Wake up, Meleasy. It's Graduation Day". I woke up with excitement together with shock. I almost forgot the day of my graduation😱😫.

I jumped out of my bed and wanted everything to be perfect on that very particular day😇. I had spent 16 years of my life in schooling, doing my education👩‍🎓, knowing 🕵️ about the various functions of our cloud kingdom 'Isanki'. I gathered most of my knowledge during these years. Now, it is the time to prepare myself to do my task in this complex world😌😏.

Although our race had lost its own dimensions due to havoc in the universe🙁😞, we had adjusted ourselves in the clouds of Planet Earth😊. We, fairies, never took this residence for granted. We accepted that it was our life time debt to protect Earth from every disaster it encounters and to provide every pleasure😌; it had to receive from clouds and skies. We, fairies were possessed with the greatest virtues of controlling the five elements of human existence- Air🍃, Water🌊, Fire🔥, Land🌍 and Spirit🌬️.

It is often said that-

"Having those powers is our genome for survival"...

And I, Meleasy Jonan, am proud of being in this kingdom of skies...😏😌

All these things rushed in my mind as I freshened myself. Then I took the uniform out of my cupboard. It was a navy blue skirt with a white shirt. I was hoping to wear it for the last time😇, since we were graduating🎉.

My secondary education is the education of tricks ✨. They start by selecting the category to which we belong- as selected by the legendary 'Doors of Caliber'🚪. I heard that it was the most enthusiastic part of everyone's life 😀.

The 'Doors of Caliber' analyses our abilities, thoughts and powers and thus decides the category we belong to...

This is what we had read in books. I was fascinated to meet my destiny🤩🤩.

I got my bag packed for school. Aunt Falon, twin sister of Aunt Halon, made my breakfast- which was slices of bread with butter and cranberry jam applied on it🍞🍯. Aunt Halon polished my shoes, kept my belt and tie ready. I wore my belongings and sat down for breakfast.

As soon as I took my last bread slice, my friends called out my name- "Meleasy! Are you ready? We are getting late already", shouted Mary Dileon. I hurried myself🏃‍♀️, climbed downstairs and gestured 'bye' to my aunts'. When I ran to my friends who were waiting for me outside my home- 'Sparrow Villas', Kyla Jones was speaking-

"We still got an hour for our program to get started. Why the rush!! Senior Mary..🤷‍♀️."

Sam Baruel gave a short lecture🤓- "If we start now, we would reach the school by half an hour⌚. Then Mr. and Mrs. Claws would take our attendance and guide us to our respective pathways. This entire process would take about 30 minutes. Here's the total calculation of one hour. So, we... must... hurry..."

Kyla and Mary were awestruck and left speechless🤦‍♀️😬, while I broke the awkwardness.

"GENIUS... Shall we start?🙄"- I said in weariness and adjusting myself in the handles of my bag.

This is my weirdo gang🤓; Mary- the smart girl👩‍🎓, Kyla- the dare girl👩‍🎤, Sam- the nerd👨‍🏫 and me🙋. We were four but we made others think we were more than ten 😎. We study, we play and we do super crazy things😵 but always together. We often wonder how our life turns out after education.😌😉😏

Mr. and Mrs. Claws are our guardians in school. We, fairies, get retired after our powers get weaken and engage ourselves in daily works 😌 like teaching, nursing, baking etc. No field is underestimated and there is no price system in our world. So, there's no chance of poverty 😎. Mr. and Mrs. Claws were retired cloud☁️ makers. They were intellectual, one of the best care takers and also famous for their beautiful love story❤️.

We walked the distance in no time as we talked about our happy school memories 😊. All of sudden, we got rushed into, by a girls' group😵. It was Emaria and her so called high status batch🙄. She was beautiful with purple eyes, golden hair and advanced wings 😍. She was gifted with the power of air and she even knows how to control it. All these qualities go in vain when one saw her ego😕 and pride😒. She announced herself as the campus belle🤢. She is unfriendly unlike the way she looks.

Kyla rose up to throw a fight against them😡. But Sam got hold of the situation- "Kyla! Calm down! 🙁We don't have to get into trouble this day. We will take care of them later😟." In the meantime, I noticed that Mary wasn't with us 🤔. When I turned around, I saw her near the notice board. We walked towards her, where we saw the only rule of getting into secondary education 🙂-

"I was wondering if Meleasy was a Spirit"- said Mary 🤔. I was afraid that I might be a spirit🙁- The greatest power which reaches true potential only after losing the body😟. "Spirits were always the late wingers"- Mary continued, breaking my thoughts.

Mr. and Mrs. Claws came to the spot and ordered all the students to seperate themselves depending on the powers they possess😌. Mary went into the division of fire🔥, Kyla into air🍃 and finally Sam into water🌊 divisions. I was unknown of my powers🙁. I tired for everything except for land and spirit powers. These two were forbidden to students of primary education😒. So, all I could do then is to wait for someone🤷‍♀️ to notice me themselves. I was standing beside looking at everyone. I noticed Emaria and Kyla were in the same division🙄. I had a fear that Kyla might get into a quarrel with her😣.

Kyla was friendly😊 but a short tempered girl😖. She was famous for her unreasonable sense of humour🤭. She had olive skin with brown hair often tied into a pony and had colour changing eyes- blackish purple normally☺️ but changes to lightest shade of purple in anger issues😡. She was easy to get driven into anger. Slightest change in her emotions or planning marks her mood swings😓. She was into sports since childhood. Learning martial arts is quite fun for her😬. Her motto is 'Beat up first then talk through😑... in that way no one can oppose you'. Quite scary😬, wasn't she? Thanks to Sam for being her punching bag🤕. But only she can do it to him😒. If someone else bullies Sam, they will be dead meat the next second 😎. He often controls the fighting aura around Kyla.

The Claws brought few people for assistance. They opened the portals🌌 while the students of various campuses were guided by professors to enter into portals. As soon as they enter the portals, they vanish into thin air ✨ at that very moment. Four to five members of the division were taken into the portal at regular intervals of time. I was feeling bored, seeing those repetitive actions🙄😒. So, I started to wander around😉😌.

And that is when I saw him....😶

A young boy of my age came to the portals. He wasn't wearing a uniform. He was the famous Kim Carter🤩. He had blue eyes and his thick black hair was styled just to suit his attire☺️. His attitude expressed that he was from a family of delegators🙄. He had the most appealing personality I had ever seen 😍. It was said that- He was home studied and it was the first time he appeared in public🧐. I swear, right that moment- I was literally drooling over his pretty face🤤🤤🤤. Wake up girl😵! And lastly, he was from the line of guardians just like me😌. My aunts' didn't continue to be guardians for reasons unknown🤷‍♀️.

Kim entered the Central hall with two guards following him💂‍♂️. The guards were armed🔫. All the girls fancied Kim Carter😍, while the boys envied his status🙄. Kim seemed irritated- he seemed to be against the idea of being followed by the guards wherever he goes😑. Every teenager likes to be free deprived of rules and regulations🤷‍♀️. Kim could be at ease as soon as he entered the campus- as no guards were allowed into the campus😌. I chuckled by listening to weird compliments from girls beside me- "He goes to the gym, I wonder how his body is, Aw! I gonna die if he looks here...",🤭 while I got noticed by Kim Carter😣.

He walked towards me while I turned my eyes away from the way😣😖 he was approaching. He stopped the guards long before and I was feeling tense😫. I did nothing, so I gathered my courage to face the situation, while he walked past me towards the division of fire😑. I was relieved and laughed 🙄😅at my stupidity in overthinking things. He was standing behind Mary.

I thought Mary was lucky as Kim was in her division☺️. But the last thing that Mary would care about is probably Boys🙄. Mary was cautious, keen and absolute in her works. She was unique in her own way of doing things 😎. She had long silky golden brown hair, tied into a braid mostly and had fair skin with black eyes and naturally tinted lips 😍. She was thus beautiful behind her skills of adventure💞. She was an excellent physics student. Her dream is to be a warrior in the battlefield⚔️. We have been friends since 5th grade. We had made many adjustments in our lifestyles but never compromised on our friendship😌.

All air blenders left, and then water blenders and later fire blenders🙄. Soon, only a few of us left. I also wondered if any spirit blenders were left 🤔. I thought to myself-

"Am I odd or unique? Why does it have to be me anyway?"-🤦‍♀️

I was frustrated and worried as well.🤒

A boy approached me with a list📃. He was young and seemed to be of my age. He had googles 👓 and wore brown coat just like apprentices' of Claws'. He spoke up- "You are.... Meleasy Sparrow, right?😒 Hurry now, there are more like you". His words relieved me😄. "Good then, I was worried that I was only one left"- I spoke stretching out my hand for a handshake 😊. He remarked- "All are land blenders as far as I know. As you have no wings, you are an exception now😒", he rolled his eyes and turned to other side. What's wrong with him🙄! Let it be- I took back my hand.

I insisted😃- "I might be a spirit holder Mr...🤔" I paused as we entered the portal.

"I am Apprentice Rayone. I had to tell you that the divine power of spirit lasted to Highness Venesa herself😏. There had been no spirit holders for about 150 years till today😒"- he said calculating🧐 the speed of the portal to be reopened.

"Maybe I am special"- I muttered🙂🙃. "Maybe you are not eligible😒"- he said abruptly, which made me irritated. Who the hell he thought he was😡? Was he the creator of my fate😡? I was infuriated😠. "Mr. Rayone, I think you are seventeen, probably😒. Don't you fear getting into trouble with that attitude of yours?🙄"- I said calming my nerves😤, giving out a fake smile🙃🙂.

"Sorry to disappoint you😒. I am twenty five and a well trained and a well trained cloud maker, currently in practice😏"- he said building pride in his voice😌.

"You don't seem so😤🤷‍♀️"- I muttered again. I was a little loud this time 😣and tried to cover up by nodding my head- "So, you are one of the air blenders of Isanki".😅

"Correction, Miss. Sparrow😒. I am one of the best air blenders of Dark Forest😌. And you are out, now.😒"- he said this and the portal reopened.

I stepped out with him, thinking about what he said. Dark Forest!?😯😲😱 When did the people of Dark Forest begin to live here🧐🤔? We used to be enemies😬. I was thinking to myself but what I saw next is worth more...

I stepped onto a cold floe supported by steamy clouds below. It became the central platform surrounded by waterfalls🌊 at a distance of less than 1 meter. The falls were giving out cold breezes🌬️, chilling the nerves. They were uninterrupted leaving no space for an outlet. The sounds of the falls were soothing and calm unlike their fierce appearance😌. They started from up about 200 meters above the level of ice, attracting the viewers' eyes🤩, standing as a gorgeous creation of Isanki- I had ever seen.😍😍😍

Mr. Rayone left as soon as I stepped out of the portal. The portal closed😶. My frost bitten extremities were making me cold😖❄️. No one were around me, I curled myself up due to the cold surrounding me😣. The most beautiful scenery around me was no longer serene😞. I shouldn't have provoked that apprentice. He left me in this endless pit😬. My vision was getting blurry second after second😵. I crouched near the ground. The temperature seemed to become lower than before.❄️❄️❄️

'Why is it getting colder? Why am I even here🤦‍♀️? Door...!🤔'

There must be a door here 🤔. I started to look all around and I could barely see🧐 the impression of a door at a height of 100 meters from where I was crouching.

How to reach it!?🤔 it's too far from where I was. But I got no other choice🤷‍♀️. We never came across this type of tests in our primary education. "Powers!"👆- It must have something to do with powers. I got none as of now...😕

There must be a way out🙄. I was not looking for it properly. Doors of Caliber decide based on abilities one has 🤔. I looked down to floe. The floe is cold despite the steam below and there's a sun on the above☀️. So, there must be a controlling crystal🔹 in the middle to keep the frozen state of the ice❄️. That means the temperature gets colder nearer to the ice😲. I stood up. The coldness persisted but better than before😓. I got no time to think about this. There must be something I could make use of. There are two ways of getting nearer to the door 🤔. The floe should move up or the door should move down. Either ways should possess a switch to act🙁. Any kind of trigger could be around here. But all I could see is falls around me and snow near my feet😓😓. The breeze carrying little water droplets were turning into snow as it touched the floe.😑😑

I walked towards the falls while I noticed the place I was standing, showing a handle on the other side of the ice sheet.😲 The floe is pretty thin to notice the other side. It was only the edge of the handle I could see but I am pretty sure that it was the only way out😏. 'I SHOULD REVERSE THE ICE SHEET'...🤟🤟

I must build weight on one corner of the sheet🙁. I soon moved to the corner of the sheet. The water as it touched the floe, turned into ice. It was just as I guessed😌. As the water bring the weight at one corner by turning into ice, the sheet started to become a little shaky😵. I ran towards the other side and jumped with all my strength😣.

We have sports class every day. Thanks to it, a long jump is a piece of cake for me😏. I could hardly manage to jump to the other side. It was a hell of a task😓. I could hear my heart beating hard in me😫. The shakiness of floe persisted for a while and I sat near to the sheet holding the handle😣😫. Soon, everything was as stable as before. I pulled the handle upwards😌. The floe floated upwards as an elevator at a speed of 10 meters per second approximately😖. The change in altitude blocked my ears and I was dizzy as well😵. Gradually the coldness decreased and the door was nearing me👆. I stopped the floe at the reach of door🚪.

The floe is still cold❄️, but the air around me is warm☀️. I carefully touched the door knob and opened it. My surroundings began to shatter into pieces😬. I hurriedly entered through the door.

Behind the door was an entirely different dimension😨😰. There was darkness all the place my eye could see🙁. I could only see a bright star nearing me🌟🌠. So bright, that my eyes were unable to take that brightness😣. As I close and open my eyes- I am in a mirror maze, where- as I see myself in the mirror, the mirror holding my reflection starts to crack😨, leaking blood from the cracks😰😰. They were voices of crying people around me😫. I was terrified😣😫 by the change of things around me and I started to shout for help😫. Soon, there was blood everywhere on my hands😖. Fear struck me hard this time and my breath caught in my throat at the sight of blood pool around me😫😫😫. I closed my eyes real tight this time. I was trembling in fear and started to cry helplessly😨😫😭.

All of a sudden, I felt a pair of warm hands holding me from behind. I was too afraid😣😖 to open my eyes but that hug was familiar. I heard words from behind my ear👂- "It's alright now". It was a young man's voice reassuring me. His words worked like magic🔮. I felt very calm within fraction of a second😌.

I wanted to see his face😃. I opened my eyes and I am back to the dark room with nearing star😨. A door slowly opened from behind me.😰😰😰

"Meleasy, hold my hand- Can you hear me?"- It was Aunt Falon who is speaking🙁😲.

"Aunt Falon!" I cried out😮😭 and ran towards the door into the arms of my Aunt. The Dean of the Council of Academics was already there with my Aunt🙁. Aunt started to scold while holding me- "Don't you know who she is?😠 How can you do this to a little girl😡? Doors of Caliber is her last level. She could have died😡😠!!"

These were the faint words I heard at that moment. I lost my consciousness later😵🤕.

A few days passed in my deep sleep. I opened my eyes slowly. My vision was blurry🤕. There was a wet cloth on my forehead. Was I running a fever🤒🤕? I tried to sit on the bed while Aunt Halon helped me up😷-

"Careful, Leasy dear! Are you okay, now😧? How many fingers are these😟? Oh Heavens😱, you aren't responding😬. I should call Mrs. Claws🧐..."- She was anxious as well as relieved at the same time.

"Aunt, I am alright. But my head🤕..."- I was feeling weak and my voice was faint as well.

"Oh dear! have some water🥛. Drink slowly"- Aunt Halon was taking care of me all along. I couldn't see Aunt Falon anywhere🧐🤔 since the incident. I have been unconscious for about 5 days 😱. Aunt Halon said that my friends visited me a few times.

Later that day, I recovered faster than I expected😌😌, My friends visited me again when I decided to attend the college.

Thanks to them, I was really joyful and happy😄. I went to walk with them while they talked about all the excitements in their classes😃. Mary was happy😌 as she was selected into the campus of Knights. Sam went into quite expected campus- Campus of Tinkers😏. Kyla got selected into Messengers and she is still upset over it🤭. But Tinkers and Messengers are trained in one campus😌. Kyla and Sam were really fated to stick together😌🤭😝.

"I wanted to go into music 🤔... I even dreamt to designing music to the raindrops🌧️ and I already collected the most horrifying😈 sounds for thunders⛈️🌩️⚡. But, still... Can I change fields🤔🤔?"- Kyla spoke. We all responded at once- "NO!!!😒" We all burst into laughter at her pre-planning 🤭😆🤣.

"No wonder, you are selected as messenger😏. You will make a haunted house😈 of Earth with just rain drops😱"- Sam said these while shaking his head😌. Kyla gave out her fake smile🙃 and started to run after Sam to give him a beating😏👊. I can't help but laugh at their behaviour.😝

Mary was lost in thought. "What happened?🙂"- I asked. "Nothing, I am just afraid if I can cope up with the people around me🤔🙁." - Mary lied. Mary is an introvert but she was never afraid of change. Though she lied🤐, I can understand her intentions. She never puts burden on us🤷‍♀️. She will open up only when she can't handle it on her own😌. "Don't worry. It is not a big deal at all😌. You can handle it 😉."- I said playing along with her lie.🤗🤗

"Ha😒! Got him😏! How can you say that, you bookworm😒? You wanna get my fists😏👊?"- Kyla got hold of Sam by his neck🤪 and there he goes again being her punching bag.🤷‍♀️

"You are coming tomorrow, right 🙂?- Mary asked.

"Yeah, I can't avoid it forever."- I replied.😅

"What exactly happened?"- Mary continued.🧐🤨🤔

I started to speak but no words were coming out of my mouth🤐🤐🤐. I gestured them about the doors🚪.

"Is it about the Doors of Caliber? Don't bother then😒😒"- Kyla spoke leaving Sam. "No one can speak about what happened behind the Doors of Caliber🙁. We all tried🤕"- Sam continued- "Why are you so strong by the way😒? Are you sure you are a girl, Kyla🤔🧐?" There they go again. And we played and laughed the entire day.
