"Aruna!" Mrs. Nath called out in her musical voice. "Are you ready with your presentation?"
At the very moment, Aruna was trying to reach her pen that had rolled under the table. She had almost touched it, when everything around her started spinning. She had encountered such situations many times. She was used to getting panic attacks. But this seemed different. "Why? Why now? I don't want to panic, I don't want to! Why is this happening again.. Ugh!!" Was all that she could think and say.
To get steady she closed her eyes for a second, but wait, what was it? Why was she feeling soft grass brushing against her soft chubby cheeks, arms and feet. Was she surrounded by grass, but how? She was at her office a second ago and now layed in grass? And not only the grass but she also smelled a sweet scent she had never ever smelled. It seemed like a mild perfume. "Oh yes!" she remembered, it was the scent of the perfume she had smelled the day before at a famous cosmetic store. But could not buy because it was too costly. But the thing was, how was it even possible for her to smell it here, at some unknown place. That scent was very rare and costly so only somebody too rich could afford it. Was some rich person wearing that scent around her?
She opened her beautiful blue eyes only to find herself under clear sky but to her surprise it wasn't blue but pink a rare phenomenon! She was surrounded by huge but beautiful trees. They were very different, she had not seen any of them ever. Neither for real nor in photos. The surrounding seemed to have come out of a fiction movie. But the thing was - was it real or was it not? To know for sure she pinched herself, and cried out loud. Not because she felt the pain but because she just felt the touch, her body understood that it was pinched, but the pain didn't come. How?
This set on a panic attack in her. She got splotches in her eyes, everything went blurry then black, but she got her senses back by trying to cool herself down. Took long breaths, and slowly got on her feet. She once again looked around to find just the same surrounding; the pink sky, huge but unknown trees, grass and the sweet scent. She didn't know what to do, but she couldn't keep standing there could she? She needed to get out of there. She didn't even know for sure if she was hallucinating or not. But first of all she needed to find someone, someone who could help her out of there to her own world.
Before starting walking she looked down at her chubby belly ,and sighed, for which only Mrs. Nath called her adorable and not fat. She just wanted to check that by any chance had she time travelled the way she had read in many comics. And had it changed her figure, but no it wasn't so. At least her figure hadn't changed. But the time travel thing, we don't know for sure. But now wasn't a time to think about body fat and neither was it the main issue. The main issue was- Where exactly was she? Could she get out of there?
She walked a bit further to look for any clue she could find in that dreamy and exquisite surrounding. She was dumbstruck to find a very much beautiful bird who dived down the tree towards her with it's hungry black eyes. It had a long tail like peacock but white and violet in colour, it had slender but sharp yellow claws, dark violet body and wings with light white strokes.
The heavenly bird came straight towards Aruna and started to inspect her, it walked around her and nudged her a bit. But she was so horrified, confused and amazed all at the same time that she didn't even move. Neither did she try to breathe, she was on high alarm. She was so still that no one could tell between the statue and her. But alas she couldn't hold her breath longer. The instant she left her breath the bird turned into a graceful lady. She did still have the peacock tail feathers spread behind her elegantly, that made her look like a divine beauty.
She was so beautiful that Aruna couldn't think about anything else. It was like she forgot everything, all the questions disappeared. And she just stared in awe. But the silence didn't last for long, the peacock lady spoke in her beautiful but mysterious voice, " Hello Miss! You Suppose to be the one who was destined to come here. Spend your time wisely, capture the scenery, you have only 30 minutes to spend here. I hope the nature has made the right choice to have you here." Aruna wanted to ask her so many questions but the lady didn't even wait for a second longer and flew away after transforming into the heavenly bird.
Aruna was dumbfounded, she couldn't even move from her place. But she tried to cool herself down, by soothing herself that she would be able to return back to her world in 30 minutes. But how?
She decided that she will keep strolling around until it's time to go back. But what was it that the lady had said? Why was she the chosen person by the nature, and for what? Why was she the one to be destined to be there? How was she to spend her time wisely? The questions kept pilling up but the answers were nowhere to be seen. The most important question of all questions was that- Was all this just a dream or real? She decided to take pictures of the area as a proof. If by any chance it was real she would be able to see them again. She clicked photos of all sorts of flowers, she had never scene in her world. There were flower gardens, ponds, and even snow . A bit further she could see that a rainforest was starting. But how could all these be at one place? They needed different climatic conditions to grow. Rainforest needed humidity, snow needed coldness the grassland needed moderate climate. How was it to be at the same place? It was as if it was some sort of animated movie... She suddenly remembered that she was to give a presentation at her office. She was terrified, about what would happen. She was to give her presentation in 2 minutes but after passing 30 minutes here, she was certain to be fired.
She didn't know if to be happy to have experienced such a beautiful surrounding or to be sad with the tension of being fired. With all her thoughts running in her mind she didn't even understand when the bird had landed in front of her and transformed into the lady. She only noticed the woman when she spoke in her mysterious voice. She said, "Aruna your time here is completed. Don't try to forget this place. This is your destiny. Take care. Trouble is awaiting you!"
Aruna was once again left with pilled up questions but no answers. She didn't even have time to think. In a blink she was in her first position, reaching her pen. She was like- How did it all happen in just a second? She picked her pen, and answered Mrs. Nath, "Just 2 minutes, I am coming." These words were on her tongue before she had bent and they came out without her ordering to do so. She couldn't think anything further. Mrs. Nath said, "Okay!" and left her.
