It is a very true statement after all, one can neither change or avoid whats in store for them but they should always try to persevere, for good things will eventually come in ones life.

The beautiful life she once dreamed of was a farce, a lie, from which she had woken up only to never believe in such useless and stupid idea of her.

Name: Jessica Blevins, Age: 25, Profession: Secretary, Skills: Expert at managing and organisation of data and schedule. Had lots of experience and had graduated from a famous university abroad.

The more the information the chairman read about her, more impressed he was about her job profile.

" Set an appointment with her. Ask her to come straight to my room for interview tomorrow." The chairman asked his secretary to finalize it.

The chairman, Mr. Parker was a old man whose age was more than 70 years, he was looking for a secretary for his grandson, who was finally returning from abroad after completing his diploma and internship in a foreign branch to understand the inner workings of the company to now finally take over the company as the CEO. What he needed the most a competent and capable secretary to help him dael with the company matters with. He thought that if this girl would come up to his expectations, he would not have to worry about anything else and he could retire peacefully.

In a condo,

The room was dark, faint rays of sunshine entering the room and a lump was visible on the bed.

The sound of alarm caused the lump to move, and now the fair jade like skins of women was visible. Jessica was too sleepy to even open open her heavy eyes, she tossed her pillow towards the alarm clock but it was still ringing. Sigh.

But suddenly she wakes up, her hair was messy and covered most of her beautiful face, she tried to look for the alarm clock and sees that she about to get late for the interview.

She gets out of the bed, gets ready within 15 mins and rushes outside to take her car to the " The World" company. After she she came back from abroad a month before, she did a good research about the potential company which had good work environment and treated their employees fairly, The World company was on the top, so she tried to give it a shot, she had received the email about the interview yesterday, but she was so nervous that she could not sleep till late into the night, hence this was the outcome.

But none the less, she arrived the destination just on time.

Jess calmed herself down and was looking forward to the interview.

Intro

If it gets a bit confusing about characters relationship and background so far, i will summarize it here.

Jessica Blevins went abroad to study and returned a month back, found a job here. She has a huge family. Her father and uncle together run an shipment business which is very famous in the city here.

George Parker is best friends with her father. He is a famous director and travels around based on his work. After he left the city he maintained contact with Lincoln over call and finally got to meet each other after a long time. Yes, He is the son of the chairman of the World Corporation which is conglomerate and more information will be provided later as the story progress.

Jess was confidently entered The World company building. She was tall, had an perfect hour- glass figure which was accentuated by the black pencil skirt nd a suit over her peach coloured blouse. Her shoulder length hair was simple tied up in a pony tail, and her face was bare with no make up, just a lip was applied to make her rosy full lips even more beautiful. She looked professional and had an elegant aura around her.

The lady at the front desk was in a daze after seeing her. Jess greeted her, " Hello, I am here for an interview with the chairman for the post of the secretary. Can you please give me more details about where I am supposed to go?"

The question brought the lady out of her daze, " Hello miss. The interview will be held in front of the chairman himself and you are to go to the 45th floor, the staff present there will take you to the destination." If Jess wouldn't have said her that she was here for an interview she would have definitely that she is a big shot.

Jessica gave her a smile and thanked her befor making her way towards the elevator.

Jessica was very confident about her capabilities. As she was making her way towards the room, her mind was filled with all the possible situations and questions which could come up during her interview.

The chairman's assistant, Mr. Cox was waiting for her in front of the elevator. As soon as he saw Jessica leave her he approached her,

" Miss Blevins, hello I m the chairman's assistant and you can call me Mr. Cox. Please follow me to the chairman's office"

Seeing the man waiting for her she felt conscious and asked, " Good to meet you Mr. Cox, I hope I am not late for the appointment."

He smiled, " Absolutely not miss. You are very much on time. "

He led her towards the room and knocked the door twice, after he received the responce from inside, he opened the door and led her inside.

When she entered the room what she was an old man, seated on a chair, focused on seeing the data displayed at the computer screen. The room had the left wall covered with full lenght book self which displayed some of the trophies and awards and had a lot of books in foreign languages and about various aspects.

After looking around the room, she focused on the her task today. Right! She didn't even greet the man. Oops!

She waited for the man to recognise her presence in the room. Mr Cox silently went beside Grandpa Parker, the Chairman, and whispered something into his ears. Grandpa Parker slowly nodded and made a sign asking him to leave the room. Seeing that his boss wanted him to excuse immediately he bowed and left the room.

Finally, Grandpa Parker looked up and was sizing Jessica from top to bottom, as if he was trying to analyse something.

Jessica saw this as a sign to finally introduce her.

" Good morning sir. I am Jessica Blevins. I am here to interview for the post of the secretary to Mr CEO. "

Grandpa Parker had no change in emotions and just nodded his head. He started asking questions about her education, work experience, qualifications and all work related matters. After he was satisfied with the response he asked her one final question.

" Miss Blevins I would like to know why did you suddenly leave your excellent job abroad and are here instead?"

Jessica was mentally prepared to answer this, but she still had to calm herself and tried to stop the emotions which threatened to reveal themselves.

" Even though everything was perfect there, I felt that I left behind something important here, I missed my parents a lot. So I decided to return to the continue working here."

Satisfied with her answer, Grandpa Parker smiled and said, "Finally I found someone capable enough to work along side my grandson. He was studying abroad, in fact in the same city as you. He is finally returning and will take up the role of the CEO and then I can finally retire peacefully."

He pressed a button and Mr. Cox appeared, " William take Ms. Blevins around the office and introduce her to everyone important." Then he turned to Jess. " Miss Jessica we will send the contract and details tomorrow and you can start working from next monday. See you then. Goodbye"

He had no further intentions to continue talking with her so he went back to his work.

After getting familiar with what she was supposed to do meeting all her co workers, by the time Jess exited the building it was about the time for lunch. Just then her poor stomach grumbled, as if complaining to her to not leave it empty any longer. As she made her way towards her car and was planning what to have for her lunch, her phone rang. She looked at the caller Id and her lips curved upwards to a beautiful smile. She answered the call.

"Hello dad"

"Hello my cupcake, how are you? Did you have lunch? If not come back home quickly I have made your favorite key lime pie."  Without giving her a chance to speak, her father, Lincoln Blevins had already asked her a lot of questions. As she was listening to her fathers constant chatter she could not help but smile brightly, unbeknownst to her that at the same time a young man who was passing by had his heart beating faster at the sight of her. [We talk about this later though ;) ]

" Dad, I am here at The World corporation. I came here for an interview and guess what? I was selected. No, I didn't have my lunch yet. I heading back home now. Bye dad and don't forget to hide my pie from the eyes of Jack. See you at home."

" Okay I will inform your mother and brother about your return. Drive safely. Byee "

Jess started driving. The Blevins Villa was about 1 hour away from The World Corporation.

She was getting bored so she started radio and started humming the song along.

She could not help but think about her happy days back in abroad when she was happy, studying and in love with someone. But thinking about him made her mood spoil. Her face showed a hint and sadness. She was wondering why she had to end up this way... why she had to suffer?

She shrugged away all those thoughts and focused on driving. She reached The Blevins Villa soon.

When she entered through the door, the steward greeted her, " Hello miss Good Afternoon. Master informed me about your arrival. They all are waiting for you in the dining hall. "

She smiled and went towards the dining hall. Upon reaching the place, a warmth filled her sad heart and she was very happy to see her dear family all gathered together waiting for her.

" Hello everyone. Good Afternoon Grandpa, Grandma, Aunt Rachel, Uncle Francis and bro and sis.

Where is mom? Why don't I see her here?"

" Cupcake didn't you forget to greet me?" Lincoln said with a sullen expression.

Jess rolled her eyes " Dad I talked with you over the conversation didn't I?"

" Why don't you stay here and are stubborn about living at an apartment all alone?" Sophie Blevins, Jess' mom asked her from behind.

"hello mom" Jess hugged her tightly after taking the bowl of soup from her hands and placing it on the table.

" After living in abroad for so long I have gotten accustomed to living alone and I am more comfortable that way. But I assure you that I will make frequent trips to visit you here. Promise"

Helpless before her daughter's adorable expression, Sophie gave in, " Okay, Its not that anything I will say will change your mind anyway so as long as you are happy and comfortable I have no other complains. Now sit down and have something. I remember your dad was all excited about telling us all about something." She turned towards Lincoln " Dear now that Jess is here, why don't you finally tell us what is it that making you so happy. I can't wait any longer."

"Oh! yes yes. Jess you are already 25 years old, still single with no one around you so why don't go on a blind date and possibly marry the son of my best friend. He is quite a catch and matches my expectations of a good son-in-law. What do you think?"

Jessica was shocked. she blinked her eyes several times to process the information that she was suddenly made aware of. She was dreaming right. Oh she really must be dreaming.
