Countless individuals laid out across the battlefield. Beaten weary and overall tired. The ground was unrecognizable from all the destructive spells and devasting explosions that took place.
The Users Endless Abyss, Burning Requiem, Killing Softly, and Burp Burp stared in awe, as the last of the enemy burned away. The large amount of experience was then shifted around to the various leaders.
One Leader, in particular, changed the Experience Share to the "Partyless People" at one point. It was only 30% overall. Enough to make it more than worthwhile for them. Coupled with the title "Coach Thy Enemy," the other Users received a multiplier of 3x.
He stared at the title for a bit. It was so odd to have received it for a quest reward at the time. But then, when he came across those he fought with just moments before during the quest, it made sense.
The Individuals turned from "Yellow Ring" and "Green Ring" to "Red Ring" and attacked. Killing them was not what the User wanted back then. But he would not let them have their way. After a gruesome fight, he took the first chance he could to run away.
"Tch!" Dismissing the memory, he focused back on the here and now.
The sky slowly changed from the view of a Starry Night, towards a more normal one. The sun in the distance glowing dimly. The Party, Bountiful Frontier had defended the "Sun" the best they could.
From the reports during the battle, they lost 87% of their forces.
"Haaa, what a beautiful image. Despite the blood and guts everywhere of course." He looked around at everyone trying to recover just in case another battle started.
The Users had fought valiantly to end the last Event of the Game Dimensional Odyessy. The Destructive Wave targeted the "Sun" and would end all life in the Galaxy if they didn't stop it. An almost Dark like substance that consumed everything in its path.
*Spread!* A large Clear wave of magical energies engulfed the area. It touched each User before bouncing to each Nuc. (Non-User Character)
The wave restored them to peak conditions but also put them under a new status. Not unheard of in the late game really. It was called the Blessing of Fate. Not bonuses to stats or skills just a Full Restore. Most kept on going since everytime it was used, a Curse they were afflicted with disappeared.
If they allowed it to anyway. Some had gotten use to the benefits of said Curse. Mostly the Villians and those in the Inbetween.
(Event: Complete Status Lock. All effected must remain in place for 30 hours.)
Several Users "Warped" out of the area forcefully. Losing experience and the gear was not that bad compared to dying. The penalty was to high this late in the game. A large amount of the Nucs did the same thing. Those who stayed to the 30-hour mark, however, received a prompt.
Some just couldn't wait for 30 hours to watch something play out or an event to start. The notice had caught the attention of the ones who remained, however.
A new game plus mode it said. The idea of starting over with a new character was enticing, but the "Web News" suggested the game was getting shut down in five more years. That was not worth it to most people.
Especially if your life partially revolved around the activity done through the game. Such as trading and hanging out for future social events. A lot of the Entertainment Industry was regulated through this. As well as the Medical Community.
Several forcefully logged off to think about it. The remaining 5 Villains, 5 Heroes & Heroines, and 10 of the Inbetween remained. A small discussion about the future of the game was had before tempers flared up.
One of the heroines became fed up and clicked yes. One of the five villains did the same. Bathe in light, the two disappeared.
Slowly the two saw images of their game time play in front of them. From the present all the way to the beginning over the years. The countless hours and game time spent on quests and missions laid out in a way that would make a decent movie. If it did not play backward of course.
"You.. really didn't cause the Outbreak on Genyasi Island." The heroine looked at the villain. Her eyes conveyed her grief but that didn't matter. "I persecuted you like all the others... I am sorry."
"Save it." The villain waved his hand in annoyance. His eyes trained on the visions around them. He was trying his best to not miss a thing. Especially when the Event of "Black Waterfall" played. The heroine was there. Due to her help, he now knew a Nuc friend of his lived. "I abide by the Truce, whatever happened before, is water under the bridge as the old saying goes."
The heroine nodded after some time. She then focused on viewing his playtime. 'This cannot be right. He is labeled wrongfully as a villain. Just the result of fools and circumstance.' The playtime of a certain Event drew her attention. "Ragna-rok... you played that Event!"
Before she could focus on it, the next image showed another Hero come from the shadows. But since it was in reverse, he was going back into the shadows. Watching as the dagger moved from the Villain's spine to the front of the stomach. She gripped her hands tight in agitation. The memory of what happen next played in her mind.
"You did not fight back. Why?" Around them, the scenes played faster and faster. 'The quest was so troublesome. I remember doing the same with my team. He should have had several other people with him. The "Ritual Quest" will not play correctly if you don't. But then, how did he even get in that room?'
"The quest said I needed to remain still for 5 hours to receive the Inheritance. Getting killed ruined it and lead to a key of "Ragna-rok" turning. But your Party knows all about that. Since it was.." The villain stopped talking when he saw a bit of playtime with her. His sole focus on the User next to her. 'Lira, my friend how I missed you. I can not believe you knew her. But then again. She is not as bad as the others.'
His eyes looked at her for a brief instance. Taking in that her sad look resembled Lira for a moment. But the differences in eye color broke him from confusing the two.
"Why did you go quiet?" The Heroine turned from him to late. She missed the sight of the people in the party that were with him. She would have known that it was several of her own party members currently actually. Specifically two of the top Hero party members. "Ughh, this is making me dizzy."
*Shine!* A bright light encompassed the room. Blinded\, the two shielded their eyes trying to reduce the pain. The energy in their bodies leaving along with a slight dinging notifying them of a vast decrease in levels.
(Playthrough compressed. Change in both Users' brain patterns. Changing "script" now... Villain set back on correct route of Hero.)
(Heroine set back on Inbetween Route. Error detected. New information in Heroine. The emotional state shows a great deal of Rage and Sadness. Adjusting to new Villainess Route.)
Both Users would be suprised on waking up. One, from the weird sensations. And two, the fact they had both had been sent through time somehow.
Both would find out the game they played had several changes for the Milky Andromeda Galaxy. Also, the game they played was only partially a game. It had Galactic changes that affected several Dimensions.

.
A young man just got off of work. Placing his shoes by the door, he went over to the "Game Pod" that had been installed. After two years of savings, he was glad to finally have done the upgrade. The odd thing was the email he received while at work about it.
"Still cannot believe I received the free De (Downloadable Event) from work. Guess HR got it over here for me since reporting the safety violation saved them some money."
The young man went over and put the code in. It would take an hour to download. Enough time for him to clean up and eat before enjoying his vacation.
Getting the necessities of cleaning out of the way, he changed and entered the pod to start playing. A painful sensation ran through his fingers as he lifted the hatch up. Thinking it nothing but problems from over work, he just continued. He stared at the hatch but felt it connected going down his spine.
*Bzzt!* A small stream of energy passed through him.
"Owww! What the hell was that?!" Looking around and doing a quick maintenance check showed no errors. To be on the safe side, he rebooted the pod. "Year 2220, and we still can not fix the issue from overworked muscles and still can't stop static cling. Maybe it is time I stop working on the Rig out there? I am still young at 30, but if I keep this up, I will not make it to see a 150. Haa, thoughts for later. Should have become a Scientist instead of a Fuel Designer."
Under his flesh, small bits of energy moved about. In another city, the same was happening to a young woman. The energy preparing the body for the "Connection" that would take place.
Ignoring the lingering sensation, he continued on. He didn't even have to announce the activation method. WHich should have given him another clue something odd was happening.
(User accepted. Commencing Synchro now.)
"What the hell?!" Immediately flooded with information, the User fainted.
Logging On, brought a rollercoaster of information. The User spent hour after digital hour reliving memories that felt foreign at first. Slowly he accepted them to be his own after several sensations forced that it was all real and that this had taken place.
The headache was almost unbearable.
Once it finished, he realized the Game had done the impossible and disrupted "time" for the conscious mind. Both he and someone named Endless Rhapsody were brought back. The problem with that was her name. It was her "Martial Name" derived from what she had done. With know way to find her, he put it to the back of his mind.
(Mental Note: Rember something called Endless Rhapsody)
No point in wasting time anyway. For all he knew, she was not even playing after that rush of information he received. She could have had more than him and worse since she belonged to the Hero * Heroine Faction Party.
The problem with all that information received, he needed to figure out some of the going ons that he was enlightened to. But to much to sift through right now. It would be best to increase he level to allow the character and himself to have more thinking power.
"Welcome User. Choose your Race or take the random option for bonus options." The Help guide said softly.
The voice was designed to speak the most pleasant of voices to each User. Or the sternest and demanding. Depending on what worked for the User obviously.
"Random." The User answered oddly. Considering he had the standard version of the game, he would need the bonuses. Not making that same mistake twice. That and he knew the bonuses would help with the plans he had. 'Hopefully, it will not be to bad.' He crossed his digital fingers in anticipation.
Several different scenarios played in his head. But most things could not be done until the future. Right now was time to lay his future plans down and enjoy the game to the fullest. An inkling passing in his mind about the random choice.
"Race choice found, Vampire."
'Shit!' The User cursed inside his mind. The memory of what happens to the Vampires later, was just to much to think about. Getting involved was just to much work to save them. 'Well screw the racial questline. I want to have fun. Not go nuts working myself to death.'
*Flux!* A ripple went out in the waiting area. It was a distortion in the game. Considering it was still in launch week\, it was bound to keep happening with the "Server" overloads.
"Class Randomize chosen." The Help guide said. The voice startling the User from his thoughts.
"What the hell!?" The User was upset. 'The glitch did happen a lot when the game first started. I forget in my musing. I should defintely spend out of game time thinking things over.' Seeing how he didnt choose his race this time, he didnt think this would happen to him. 'So much for chances of 12% with the glitches.'
He opened a General Ticket to explain what happened. With the large volume of Users, it would be a minute before a response arrived. Players that gave accurate feedback, received quicker help in the future. As long as they were truthful.
When Users and the Help Desk work togethor, games tended to develop better.
It took the help ticket 9 minutes to return the response.
The time was spent adjusting to the Vampire body. The name Vladis was chosen after some thought. No last name, as some Races required certain quests completed to gain them. Then their were the kingdom quests to help in that regard as well.
Vladis jumped around and rolled on the ground till he was comfortable with the body size. Switching to yoga at the end, he was suprised to see the stat increase already.
Flexibility + 1
'That shouldn't happen till I entered the game.' Vladis looked around and made sure he was still at the creation screen.
The Help ticket finally answered after a moment. The function was installed to help Users who missed the notification during combat or social events.
"Due to the high volume, Bonus stats of 5 added. If the User accepts class, an increase of 1% to experience will be applied permanently."
"Well... that is just Prime. I accept." Vladis was happy as he felt the change wash over him. The information was quite abundant. "Of all the dog shit luck!"
"Class found. Mental Mage." The Help guide said promptly. Vladis thought he heard a bit of glee in the voice. "Class stat and spell increase are as followed. Intelligence + 2, Wisdom + 1 Racial + 1. Spells Awarded: Telepathy, Telekinesis, Barrier, Shift, Levitate."
"Nice. I need to get the basics out of the way soon. Then go from there." As Vladis thought it over, he missed the digital eyes looking from up high. The eyes closed shut right as Vladis gave a final stretch of his head looking up. "Getting pumped already."
After finishing the background option and region selection, it was time to go.
"Login Enter." Vladis was ready to enjoy the scenery. The many beginner villages available were the best thing ever. The Server he was on, made it even better with the distancing. 'Ahh, Rp and PvE server the way to go!'
The beginner village location was based off his login area as well. Each state had one in the technical dead center as well as the capital. Then additional places for heavily populated areas.
This is not to say a User couldnt move to another place to start. But that caused beginner money to be spent. Small sacrifice for giving up on the area you were in.
'Time to do all the starting quests. Best way to get skill points and reputation. Which I will need once they find out I am a vampire even more so now.' He walked and thought it over. 'Skill points with every level and major quest completion. That works wonders. The reputation increase early on will help with a bunch of things. Especially with discounts and getting Nuc's on my side.'
Vladis walked straight to the Wanderer Guild to register. This was also a job center, post office, and DMV.
One needed a permit to operate a horse, stagecoach, glider, steam rider, and mythic mount. Without it was fine in the lower rural areas. A guard would give you a fine or a warning most of the time. In the actual cities, magic wards would take it from your bank account directly. Or worse. A User could be arrested and have the mount taken away as punishment.
Each of those permits could wait till later. They were not cheap and mostly for those who couldnt do it in the real world to experience it here.
On his way, the village was just like the standard beginner one he know of from previous play. From the fairly decent population and wildlife walking around to the street lamps powered by magic stones like the Real World.
"Not much real difference really." Vladis mumbled. He took deep breaths letting his digital body get use to everything. 'I can barely tell the difference at all. It feels as though my "synchro" rating is at the level it was in the future. My "assimilation" is uncanny. I need to go to the training area before leaving to check.'
At the Wanderer's Guild, it was empty on the outside when looking around. The place looked like a leasing office from the outside at first look. Professional but not to much so. The higher up ones were the worst. Up above was the racial flag that all Wanderer Guilds had. A picture of every racial symbol branded on it.
*Ding!* The bell up top went off as Vladis opened the door.
The place was packed, as to be expected. But Vladis knew to wait. They would close early due to overwork which was not what he wanted to wait for. It made it almost impossible to do anything without your Id in most places.
All around were various races. Human Secondus, Dwarf, Elf, Birdfolk, Beastfolk, Merfolk with the water extractors to help them survive, Demonfolk, and Nightfolk. A few of the more outlandish races were not around.
Vladis belonged to the Nightfolk Race. These Races all shared one thing in common. They all were the results of humans. Each were listed as a sub-type from the Ancient Eternal Human. Or Prime Human for short.
All User characters were listed as Wanderers. Those of the first connection to the Ancient Eternal Human. It was both a boon and a curse.
Later, the game would release content that particularly tied with them. Several Factions would rise up and hunt the Users down. Even with a high reputation, some still were given over. But that was not for a few decades.
Strength, Connection, and a large force was the only way to deter them. Or the way one User did. He destroyed an entire city and led a crusade against them.
Fighting in that was one of the few Pvp things almost all participated in. This persecution leads to the uniting of the Users. But it was just a precursor to the Hero Villain war.
'This will take a minute.' Vladis opened the digital notepad in his pod. He switched over to "low utility mode" to work. In this state, his character would auto-respond off his brainwaves and move up as needed in the area. 'Time to write some things down before I forget. Make a good plan while waiting. The first thing is not to become a Villain. A few places will have to be avoided. I also need to save a few of my friends as well. But I cannot really remember their names. Sucks that we introduce ourselves based on our titles.'
.
-Help Guide Domain-
.
Several digital eyes scanned the area and different dimensions of the game. What the Users did not know, is that their interactions were used to help program new lives on another planet. Everything the Users had done was recorded and stored for prosperity.
Vladis and the female Heroine were chosen to go back in time to fix a few events. To change the devastation caused by the War to make sure it did not happen to the new planet. The first was the "Monster Uprising." The Event was scheduled to take place in three months as normal.
A particular Help Guide was paying attention to Vladis. Already thinking of ways to change things for the better. Mind made up, the Help Guide sent a connection to a Nuc in the guild.
- 5 hours later-
.
The Game really went the distance in some instances. Making the wait for walk-ins the same as it would be in real life. The Wanderer Guild was still packed over time. But one thing was for sure, the Users were merrily enjoying themselves. Only a few used outside game terms and mannerisms.
(Sub Stat Up: Finger Strength + 1)
(Through continuous movement and exercising, the User has increased sub-stat. Additional strength and damage output to hand-based movements.)
The entire time waiting, Vladis was tapping his fingers in a rhythm. A social tick under most eyes but training really for himself. He also looked at each person over in front of him.
First by individual subrace then back to the individual gender and aesthetics of them. Thinking over each standard characteristic they had in detail. His aim was to force skills and stat increases out from memory.
(Skill: Evaluation I Acquired)
(Through continuous observation and thought, the User has learned Evaluation. Additional insights and information obtained while observing.)
'Sweet!' With that awarded, Vladis received a skill point. 'After I register, I am totally going to the library and a few places to scope out afterward. The acquired info from the library will count to make up for the information I know. As well as helping build towards more skills and stat unlocks. Who knows, I might learn something new.''
"Next!" The Beastfolk attendant called the next in the lineup. Vladis was next after this person.
'I need to read almost all the basics of every major and minor book in the beginning villages. Not only do I get stats but it will also fill in for information gaps I know in the future. Damn developers get super nosy early on. In fact very interested in our thoughts on certain "Events" that take place.'
Vladis was pulled from his thoughts noticing a little fairy up top of the support beam. He gave a wave and watched as it dived down into his hair.
"Haha ok."
"You do not mind?" The fairy asked. The fairy was two inches tall. With silver long hair. Bristling with magical power. Vladis did not even try to turn hostile against it. That was instant death. That and the fairies brought more good than harm from what he could remember so far. That was the rumor anyway. "Strange one aren't you?"
The full bodice would have looked deadly to anyone else. But something about the fairy's demeanor was friendly. Vladis chucked it up to magic.
"No. Just try not to get it dirty or anything. It is just hair." Vladis said cheerfully. There was no reason to be mean to the fairy. Since a lot of stuff is revealed later that the little creatures did a lot for Wanderers. That and the rumor they were the Nuc's Helpers used in-game. 'Should be fun in the future. Maybe a "Secret Dimension" can unlock from it.'
"What if I call some friends over?" The fairy did a little flyby around his head. A little magic spell went off. As this was checking him over, the fairy was diving into his mind probing his thoughts. Considering his level and current skill list, Vladis didn't resist. Palms sweating and sphincter tightening, he calmed his mind as best he could. "My name is Noin. Nice to meet you Vladis."
Vladis gave a small smile in return. With the check over, he felt relief. Thinking that nothing weird showed up in his mind was something to be thankful for. He still was not going to act to carelessly just yet.
A few things could be explained with the game still in the buggy state. So there was that.
To have gotten the name of a fairy was something else. So good things there. A rumor bubbled in the back of his mind about meeting 10 fairies and getting their name.
But it was to old of a passage to remember correctly.
"As long as it does not get in the way of things or inconvenience me, like bring trouble or get me attacked for no reason, I do not care." Vladis shrugged. 'Have to have a few limitations right?' A few seconds later, five more fairies flew into his hair. "Haha, what a strange party."
"Eh, he really doesn't mind. Neat!" A blue fairy said. She was near his left ear and leaned against the back of the lobe. "Comfy." Her little glasses slid on her face from the movement. A bit of Vladis's hair was used as a blanket. If it was not so noisy, the little fairy might have fallen asleep instantly.
"I say there.." a fairy in red said. She was the only one with a different hairstyle. Cut a little short to the ears. "..if we eat food and drinks but clean up right after, will it be ok?"
"As long as I do not get irritated by it or it draws magic beast attention, then its ok." Vladis took a step forward after the person in front moved away. "Hi, I would like to register if you have the time."
"Ah of course. Just fill this.. oh you already did it." The attendant took the paperwork with happiness and process it. It made the work much easier this way.
"Yeah, I saw the form by the door when entering. And seeing everyone at the desk had one, I put two and two togethor."
"A lot of people do not do that." The attendant voiced lowly. So many were just so excited to play that the matters were generally missed out on.
"Hmm." Vladis turned around and looked at the various lines of people. It would not go well these times as well. "Excuse me!" getting everyone's attention he used telekinesis on the paperwork as he raised his voice loudly over the voices. "If you are here to register, raise you hand!"
The majority of the room raised their hands. Including people that were sitting down waiting for the lines to dwindle. Vladis placed one in each of their hands. Putting his focus on the task, he could feel his control increasing at an alarming rate.
"Fill this out to hurry things along. I know most of us are new to the town and do not know the customs, but the signs say they close at 8 on the weekdays. That is in two hours..." Vladis said. He had a small smile on his face to help promote sincerity. 'Need to get a little goodwill. Rather they second guess if they see me later and not attack me. A few added seconds go a long way.'
The crowd looked around to check the time themselves. They started to get rowdy but settled down when the next words were heard.
"Calm down! I think we can get this done in no time! The sooner we do, the sooner everyone can do everything they need to! Like get out and explore!" Mentally Vladis was cursing himself. The best thing would be to blow them off and leave. But then that would not help him.
The other Users nodded and started to help each other fill things out. Some for the process to go faster. Others knowing they needed to come back tomorrow with their friends to get things done.
"Haaa, thank you so much. Here is your Id. Everything was fine, just your class was not listed correctly. You had it listed as Mage. Is that right?" The beastfolk attendant was very happy for the help like the others. So happy he just made a big mistake.
"Umm yes. Why are you prying?" Vladis asked suspicious of the attendant. His eyes squinted dangerously, "I had my info checked off as secure and even placed my account info for the additional charge."
"Ah.." The attendant face went red as he looked back at the form. Seeing the privacy mark was checked along several locations made the situation problematic. Then a frown appeared as he knew he would get in trouble for breach of rules. 'This new arrival knows the rules? I cannot believe I slipped up like this.' With Vladis face twisted in a snarl, he couldnt help but become fearful. "I am so sorry.. I will fix it now. Please forgive me."
Vladis said nothing while it was fixed. He focused on listening to the few murmurs. Only a few people in line had heard the conversation. Stepping out of the line, he was approached by a few others wanting help from him.
"Hey, please help me. I cannot understand some of this. Sorry, I have Word Jumble Syndrome." A burly male elf said.
"Haaaa, sure." Sighing, Vladis moved over and started helping. Thinking about all the different problems people with this condition had, he felt enough sympathy to help.
The hours passed on by quickly. Even passed the time of 10. For some reason, they didnt close on time. The crowd was vastly lowered compared to before.
"All finished. How did you do over their Bruno?" Vladis asked looking over at the burly elf.
"Good. Your trick worked well. I had a few Mages cast "Word Speech" in the group. Combined with "Search Word" it was a sinch. " Bruno pointed to about 40 people that had the same condition as him. A support group that got togethor online to help one another. They did not survive past the third game event if memory served. "Anyway, how can we pay you back?"
Vladis thought over the basic level spells that anyone could learn. It was in a low published Game Magazine on how it worked. He learned the spells much later, but he could use it know problem like a few others could in the late play.
Pre-game spells helped a lot later in-game.
(Word Speech: Allows caster to speak written words they know coherently. Ignores mental effects.)
(Search Word: Searches the caster mind for meaning of the word and gives accurate definition. Ignores mental effects.)
"Do not sweat it. It helped me calm down and help everyone out a little. Have to do good deeds once in a while." Vladis gave him a smile and a handshake before turning to leave. The Attendee flagged him down before he made it to the door.
"Yes?" He forgot all about the Id change and would just come back later. Vladis spoke as neutrally as possible.
"A reward for you. Everyone was more than happy to stay a few hours today than to come in early tomorrow." With a bowed head, the attendant passed over a small parcel. It was no bigger than a 3X3 cube. The standard container for items.
(Secret Quest Complete: Registration Issue I
The mass influx of Users that arrived caused a problem in almost every Wanderer branch. With and slight panicked blaming the new staff things were just awful. You have prevented several from quitting on the first day of gameplay.
Rewards: Reputation Beginner Villages increased by 200, Threaded Vest Gathering Rank III, Acolyte Kit, Essences 30)
(Secret Quest Complete: Registration Issue II
The Users with Jumble Syndrome were greatly neglected on Rp & PvE servers due to realism mode. The branches have adjusted accordingly and saved themselves a huge headache for the future.
Rewards: Reputation Behinner Villages increase 300, Threaded Pants Gathering Rank IV, Mailing Magic unlocked, Essences 45)
(Reputation with Wanderer Guild has risen to Guest from Customer.)
Vladis checked his Essences bar. Basically, the experience that rose with interactions such as training, quests, missions, tasks, and objective completion. Another way was to just cultivate and turn it to mana to help yourself.
'Almost leveled up. Hmm, finishing these two quests kind of puts me ahead in what I wanted to do. need to hurry and get the smaller stuff done all the same.'
The fairies in his hair taking a keen interest in the User, Especially Noin.
