Ryder please open the door. Father left for the bar again. Its just us
Ryder walked over to the door and unlocked it. He slowly opened the door and saw his sister standing there. Once he fully opened the door. Rylie hugged Ryder as soon as it opened.

Ryder it will be alright. I know your worried bout father and have been helping out with his company

They talked for a while then they heard a knock at the front door. Ryder stood up and went downstairs. He opened the door and saw Rylie friend Jenna.

Yes she is upstairs in her room. Come on in (moves out of her way)
Once she was inside he shut the door. She went upstairs and into Rylie room. Ryder went into his room and shut the door. Rylie saw this and looked at his door

Ryder shook his head no then pushed her hand off him. He went downstairs to their father.
Rylie watched from the stairs as their father started to work Ryder. She really wanted to help him but he didnt want her help. After a while their father went to sleep. Rylie went downstairs to Ryder. Ryder looked at her then back at the paperwork infront of him. Rylie slammed her hand down on the paperwork which started Ryder.

Ryder please stop working and get some sleep. Your 12 you need rest as well. Please Ryder (starts to cry)
Ryder saw her crying then stood up and ran to her then hugged her. Rylie hugged him back

Im sorry Rylie. I will go rest. Please dont cry anymore

After a few minutes they went to sleep. Rylie stayed with her brother that night.
The next morning their dad came into the room. Rylie woke up to see him standing near the bed

Rylie got up and went downstairs. She looked around and saw a stack of papers on the table. She went over to it and picked up one.

She cleaned up the house a bit. After a few hours Ryder woke up. He went downstairs to get a drink. He saw the papers on the table.

Dont even think bout doing the paperwork. Your taking a day for yourself (standing in the kitchen doorway)
Ryder looked over at her and yawned. Rylie walked over to him.

Ryder got himself some lunch then sat down and started to eat. Rylie walked into the kitchen and sat at the table.

After he finished eating they played games and watched tv. Hours passed and their father came home. They talked with him for a while then headed to bed. After they were in bed the father did the paperwork for the company then went to bed.
Chapter Two
After a year has past their father Mr. Hamlet got remarried to a girl named Rosa. She moved in the night of the wedding. Ryder was home alone with her as Mr. Hamlet took Rylie to her friends birthday party.
Rosa (Ryder and Rylie stepmom)
Hey kid why dont you clean this place up. Its a mess

Isnt that your job now that you live here
Rosa (Ryder and Rylie stepmom)

Rosa walked over to Ryder and hit him hard in the head causing him to fall to the ground. Ryder looked at her.

Ryder stood up and went to head upstairs. Rosa grabbed him and yanked him to the floor. Ryder cried out in pain

Rosa started to beat Ryder til he passed out. Rosa then dragged him to his room and threw him in there and locked the door. After that she went downstairs and waited for Rylie and Mr. Hamlet to come back home
A couple hours past and they came home. Rylie ran up to her and put her stuff away. Then she ran back downstairs.

Mr. Hamlet went upstairs to Ryder room. He tried to open the door and found it was indeed locked. He turned to Rylie and Rosa

Rylie go get the key out of my room. Rosa tell me what happened while i was away

I dont know. He has been in his room most the time
Rylie ran back up and gave her father the key. Mr. Hamlet unlocked the door and saw Ryder laying on the floor. He quickly ran over to him.
Ryder tried to sit up but he could barely move his arm. Mr. Hamlet helped him to a sitting position.

Ryder looked at Rosa. She gave him a look then looked away from him. Ryder looked at his father

I fell down the stairs earlier while running
Mr. Hamlet helped Ryder up and they went downstairs. Rylie ran out the door and to the car. She opened the car door for Ryder. Mr. Hamlet helped Ryder into the car. Rylie got in the car beside Ryder and Rosa sat in the passenger seat. Once everyone was in the started for the hospital. Rylie was talking to Ryder to try to keep him awake.

Ryder are you gonna be alright
Mr. Hamlet looked at them through the rearview mirror. Ryder was trying his best to stay awake. The wound on his head was still bleeding. Rylie was watching Ryder closely

I know. Im trying (started coughing up blood then passed out)

Rylie kept trying to wake up Ryder. Mr. Hamlet sped up and after a few minutes they arrived at the hospital

Rylie run in and get a doctor (getting out of the car)
Rylie ran out of the car and into the hospital. A couple nurses hurried over to her cause she had blood on her

Im fine. But my brother he needs help. Father sent me in to get a doctor (started to cry)
Mr. Hamlet walked in carrying Ryder. The nurses saw them then looked at Rylie

The nurses ran over to Mr. Hamlet and Ryder. Another nurse came over with a stretcher. Mr. Hamlet laid Ryder down on it. The nurses hurriedly took Ryder to a room. The nurses told Mr. Hamlet Rosa and Rylie a doctor would be out to talk to them later then they left.

I dont know dear. We just have to wait and see what the doctor says
Rylie hugged her father and cried silently. After a few hours the doctor came out. The doctor pulled Mr. Hamlet aside.

He has a small concussion and a couple broken ribs as well as a dislocated shoulder

Mr. Hamlet i hate to ask this but is it possible your son was abused

After they had went inside they heard yelling and screaming. Rylie ran over the their father.

Ryder wants you but they said you cant go see him. He woke up and is panicking. He keeps yelling and screaming (crying)
Mr. Hamlet hugged Rylie when an officer walked over to them followed by the doctor

They followed the officer and the doctor to the room. Mr. Hamlet went into the room followed by Ryle. They went over to the bed. Ryder had his face hidden and he didnt realize that his father and sister was there
Ryder uncover his face and looked over at them. He cried again and Mr. Hamlet grabbed his hand

Ryder wipped his face and looked at the door. The social worker and the police officer walked in.

Mr. Hamlet hugged Ryder carefully as not to hurt him more. Ryder hugged his father back tightly and started to cry again. The officer and the social worker then left the room and went to find the doctor

After that the officer and the social worker left. Rosa sat in the waiting room and never went into the room Ryder was in. After a while Rosa took Rylie and went home. Rylie went up to ber room and went to sleep. Rosa was bout to go to bed when Mr. Hamlet called her

He then sat in a chair beside the hospital bed. He got comfy and eventually fell asleep. After a couple weeks had passed and Ryder had just been released. They headed but had to stop at the store for somethings. After that they went home. Once they got home Ryder saw his friend Gavin. Gavin ran over to him and hugged him gently. Ryder hugged him back.

Ryder hugged him back and continued to cry. After a while he stopped and they separated. Gavin then got up and called his mom asking to stay over at Ryders. Gavin then went and got his things from home and came back. That night while everyone slept Rosa was up thinking of a way to keep Ryder from talking. After a while she came up with one. She made a couple phone calla then went to bed.
Chapter 3
The next day Ryder woke before Gavin. He got up and got dressed. Afterwards he went downstairs. He decided he was hungry and went into the kitchen. He saw Rosa in there and turnt to leave but she grab his arm.
Rosa (Ryder and Rylie stepmom)
If you tell anyone what really happened to you. I will make you wish you were never born (face darkens and she throws Ryder to the ground)
Ryder hit the floor hard and laid there for a second before getting back up. He stood up and turned towards Rosa

They will find out some day. Just wait (ran back to his room and shut the door)
Ryder turned around and saw Gavin was standing near the bed.

Rosa was downstairs in the kitchen when i went in there to get something to eat. I also need to take me medicine (sat on his bed)

After around 5 minutes he came back and gave Ryder some food water and his medicine. Ryder took the medicine then ate the food. After a while the others woke and Gavin went home. Rylie went to Ryders room and knocked on the door.

Ryder dad and rosa left its just us and the nanny
Ryder got up and opened the door. Rylie grabbed Ryders hand and led him downstairs. The nanny was in the kitchen making lunch. Ryder and Rylie were sitting in the living room watching tv.

RYDER (yelled)
The nanny ran into the living room and saw Ryder was on the floor seizing. Rylie was crying and panicking.

Rylie listen to me. I need you remain calm. Panicking wont help him. Roll him on his side and make sure he cant hit anything. Im gonna call an ambulance
Rylie nodded then did what the nanny told her. After a couple of minutes Ryder stopped moving.

When did he stop seizing (walking over to them)

The nanny came back and saw Ryder was awake. She knelt down beside them and felt Ryders forehead.

Just then they heard the sirens of the ambulance. The nanny went outside to lead the paramedics in when Rylie ran out yelling.

The nanny and the the paramedics followed Rylie. The paramedics quickly went to Ryder and started to help him.

Has he taken anything today. Like medicine unusual foods anything like that

He takes pain killers for his shoulder

I saw it in his room. I'll go get (left to Ryders room)
When Rylie came back she saw they had Ryder on the stretcher and was being put in the ambulance. The nanny and Rylie followed behind the ambulance. Once at the hospital Ryder started seizing again so they quickly took him inside and started to look for the cause. Rylie gave them the medicine he had taken that morning. Mr. Hamlet and Rosa arrived not long after they did. Rylie ran straight to him. The nanny walked over to them as well.

What happened (concerned)

The children were in the living room watching while i was making lunch. I heard Rylie scream Ryders name so i quickly went into the living room. He was having a seizure. I called and ambulance right away

Alrighty. Did they say anything bout whats wrong with him (worried bout Ryder)
After a few hours the doctor came out and walked over to Mr. Hamlet Rosa Rylie and the nanny.

Mr. Hamlet it seems that your son had a server allergic reaction to the medicine

The only medicine he is allergic to is opioid painkillers. The painkillers the doctor prescribed him was aspirin (worried)

Sir some of the contents in that bottle were opioid not aspirin

Once we get the drug out of system he should recover just fine

Mr. Hamlet Rylie the nanny and Rosa went into the room where Ryder was sleeping. Mr. Hamlet walked over to the bed and grabbed his sons hand.

Mr. Hamlet stayed by Ryders side all night. The next morning the doctor came in. He checked Ryder over and ran another drug test on him. After a couple hours the doctor came back into the room.
Dr. Reese
Mr. Hamlet the drug has left your sons system. He should wake up soon. We are also gonna need to run a CAT scan to make sure his seizures didnt cause any permanent brain damage

After the doctor left Mr. Hamlets phone started to ring. He pulled it out and saw that it was the home phone. So he answered it

Mr. Hamlet sat his phone down and looked at Ryder. He started to think bout the last hospital visit and what the police and social worker had said bout him being abused. He didnt want to believe someone would harm a child. He wanted to believe that his children are safe. He has done everything in order to protect them and give them a good life. As he sat there and waited for his son to wake he wondered who hurt him and why they did so. Mr. Hamlet wanted to know who thanks its right to hurt a child. So many questions ran through his head. But no answers just a bunch of unanswered questions. Mr. Hamlet was so lost in his thoughts he didnt realize Ryde had awoken.

Your awake. How are you feeling (snapping back to reality)

Ryder looked around the room and saw it was just him now. He was tired but thirsty. Ryder realized that his father was exhausted. He then wondered how long he has been in the hospital. Just then Mr. Hamlet and the doctor walked into the room.
Dr. Reese
I see you are indeed awake. Alright lets get you check out and take you for a CAT scan
The doctor then checked Ryder over then took him for a CAT scan. After bout an hour they came back.
Dr. Reese
He is all clear and go home this evening. I will tell the nurse to get the discharge papers together (left)
Ryder looked out the window and was watching the leaves fall. Mr. Hamlet sat on the bed beside Ryder.

Hey son is something bothering you

The company is doing just fine. No need to worry. You haven't missed out on anything
Ryder and his father talked until the nurse walked in with the discharge papers. After Mr. Hamlet signed the papers they headed home. Once they arrived home Rylie ran over to Ryder and hugged him.

They went into the kitchen and got their food then went to the dining room and began to eat. After that they sat down in the living room and started to watch movies. After a few hours Ryder and Rylie went to bed for they had school the next day. Mr. Hamlet and Rosa also headed towards their room to get ready for bed. After Mr. Hamlet had fallen asleep Rosa got grabbed her phone and went downstairs. She stepped outside and made a phone call.
