The driver said as he parked the car.
I'm back at Cloud Country!
Alyssa Aria
It's still the same.
Alyssa Aria
I'll walk from here, you could take my things at the house.
I grabbed my bag and went out. The sun shines as bright as before.
As I walk, further, and further, I saw a cafe nearby. I went inside the cafe to feel ease first.
Calvin Lynn
Miss, what would you like?
Alyssa Aria
Caffè Latte would do.
He then left to prepare my order.
He seems familiar, I tried to remember who he was yet useless. I just sighed and locked my eyes across the window looking at the streets.
Seconds later, my phone rang and I instantly answered it. Knowing that it was my mom.
Liya Aria
[; Honey, I've entered you in Cloud Empire. You could start tomorrow.
Alyssa Aria
[; Oh, o-okay.
Alyssa Aria
[; But mom are you sure that I can stay here as long as I want?
I replied, Mom was kinda against of my decision living here at Cloud Country. Great thing, Dad talked to her for me.
Liya Aria
[; Yeah, just be sure to come back five months later.
I was delighted hearing my Mom's response.
In the past ten years, I've been wanting to move here because this is where I grew up. I just went to US because of my school record.
Alyssa Aria
[; Thanks Mom! I'll call you when I got there.
Alyssa Aria
[; And, Mom can you also say thanks to Dad because for the house?
Liya Aria
[; Sure honey, anything you want.
She said goodbye and hung up the call.
Soon a coffee drink clinking with ice was put before me, and I gulped it eagerly. It felt wonderful as it flowed down my parched throat. Even though it was a little bit cold, my throat was dry.
I sat there passively, not yet trying to think.
I merely watched the people. They were strolling under the trees, moving in and out of the shops that sold different things. Embroidery would be one.
It was already late afternoon, and the shadows were beginning the lengthen.
I went back to the house my Dad prepared for me. It was wonderful.
By the time I sat down for dinner at the courtyard where I really like to eat, I felt much better. It was already almost dark, and the sky was thick with stars.
Alyssa Aria
Mom must be still mad.
And suddenly Cloud Country seemed less desirable; the thought of the long, long miles between Japan and Cloud Country made me catch my breath.
So in the end, I went to bed, imagining that I was with my parents.
Someone was knocking faraway; then the knocking gradually came nearer.
'Nearly six o'clock, Alyssa!' My maid called from outside, and I opened my eyes on a perfect early morning.
I got my school uniform on and went outside.
I didn't have time to eat breakfast and just went out up to the car.
The car swept through the clean, peaceful streets of the town.
It was not too long until I arrived at my new school. But the truth is, this is my second time studying here.
I gazed up and up to where the music building showed clearly in the brilliant air. Oh, how I loved singing.
I never knew what made me turn around just then. Standing behind me was a girl a bit around my age with a black hair.
Surprisingly, it was my cousin, Lexi.
Lexi Aria
Auntie told me that you were going to study here again!
The brilliant sunshine picked out the white buildings, particularly the impressive Cloud Empire.
We got inside, the hallways with the enticing marble floor. My black shoes clanking against it kinda made an awkward disturbing sound.
Lexi Aria
You still walk as disturbing as before.
Alyssa Aria
Is that an insult or compliment?
Lexi Aria
Take it as both.
She replied and we both chuckled.
Lexi Aria
Our fist subject is music!
Alyssa Aria
Oh, I still have to go to the office.
Lexi Aria
I'll walk you there then!
Alyssa Aria
You don't have to-
Lexi Aria
Really? Let's go then!
I didn't had the chance to finish what I'm saying when she began to grab my wrist again. She's still as lively as before.
Chapter 2
After talking for a while with my homeroom teacher, I went back to our room.
Alyssa Aria
So my seat is second to the last?
Lexi Aria
Don't worry! The music room is now organized!
She opened the door for me, and my eyes widened upon what I saw.
It was almost a theatre! Seats are well designed.
Almost every seat was occupied in the room, and, the scented air was spread all over.
I looked around and told myself that it was quite usual to feel something of the kind just before. After seconds of standing, there was a bound to be a reaction.
Abby Lee
Seems like our 'waiting list' is back.
I gazed up, encountering Abby again.
We walk pass by them only to be blocked.
I frowned as a devilish grin plastered on her face.
Alyssa Aria
Aren't you gonna move?
Abby Lee
The cat finally talked back!
She's Abby, one of the students who bullied me non-stop in my first term.
: sai parlare italiano?
[Can you speak Italian?]
One of the boy asked. They seem to have underestimated me this time.
Calvin Lynn
Però è bellissima
[ She's beautiful though ]
Abby Lee
Eh? I tuoi occhi stanno bene?
[ Huh? Are your eyes okay? ]
She replied asking. Years have passed yet they didn't even change a bit.
Alyssa Aria
Dicono che la bellezza non definisce quanto sei intelligente, dipende dal tuo atteggiamento.
[ They say beauty doesn't define how smart you are, it depends on your attitude. ]
My response shocked the others, leaving them speechless.
Alyssa Aria
Now, aren't you going to move?
Alyssa Aria
Get out of my way if you're not going to sit beside me.
I said coldly as I pushed her, causing her to bump into Andrew (her friend) and hit her elbow in the piano.
After I sat down, a girl then approached me offering a handshake which left me quiet.
Stacy Williams
I'm Stacy, hope we can get along?
Alyssa Aria
Oh, I'm Alyssa
Andrew Connor
When did she become friendly?
Abby Lee
I don't know, get my bag. My elbow hurts.
Teacher Daniel
Quiet down, class will now start.
Our teacher remarked, and our first period went on.
Teacher Daniel
Lastly, build your vocal strength.
Teacher Daniel
It's the most important thing to do if you want to hit higher notes when singing.
Teacher Daniel
That's all, class is over.
The bell rang, signaling it was lunch time.
Sighing, I walked out of our classroom. I still need to study. Study, study, and study!
My doubts had quite disappeared.
As I opened the door, the library was much bigger than before.
Though, since it's lunchtime, only a few students are here.
It was wonderfully exciting to study on a graceful school once again
I brushed the spines of the elegantly covered books that was also perfectly lined up.
Alyssa Aria
What book should I read first?
Since I was a little kid, I can't decide on anything I want.
I always needed help from others to chose but when it comes to an end of discussing, I still choose what my guts trust.
After thinking what to simply choose, I just got a music book.
I looked around for a unoccupied table and saw one.
I sat down, as a gentle breeze passed by.
The humming of birds was music to my ears, page by page. I also had hummed the written songs.
Later that time, a girl then sat before me.
Stacy was about two or three years older than me, perfectly tanned with pretty dark hair.
Stacy Williams
Don't stress yourself studying.
Alyssa Aria
Oh, I'm not...
Stacy Williams
Here, a perfume.
Stacy Williams
A token of our friendship, of course.
Stacy Williams
Its scent is wild primrose. Very fragrant.
I took it in my hand and sprayed a little bit of it in my wrist. It was indeed fragrant.
The smell of roses never failed to impress me.
Stacy Williams
What are you reading?
Alyssa Aria
Oh it's just songs actually.
She stood up and stand beside me.
She lowered her head, the same level as mine and took a peak in the page.
Stacy Williams
Oh this song? It has many high notes. Hard to sing.
Alyssa Aria
Though can you sing it?
Stacy Williams
A bit, but the hardest part is the last!
Stacy Williams
Even a well trained soprano can't sing it perfectly.
She exclaimed as she pointed her finger in the last part of the song.
Stacy Williams
Have you eaten lunch?
Alyssa Aria
I don't have the appetite to eat-
Stacy Williams
Don't starve yourself, come with me!
Her warm hand was holding onto my wrist as we ran through the hallway.
Not too long, we entered a secret room.
It was very big, a piano was placed in it.
Alyssa Aria
Wow, very aesthetic.
Stacy Williams
I know right!
Stacy Williams
This is where I always practice.
Alyssa Aria
I've never seen this music room before...
I muttered as my eyes gazed upon the ceiling, filled with stars and moons.
Stacy Williams
We could practice here if you want.
I went closer to the white painted piano and gently stroked the keys.
Stacy Williams
There's also a small kitchen here. It's almost a tiny house.
Saying that, she softly chuckled then.
The music produced by the piano, amazed me more.
I then sat down and played a little bit more.
Stacy Williams
You play so well.
Standing beside me, she was holding a plate with cookies laid out.
I saw a small table and place it in between us, laying the plate down, I gradually took a piece.
Stacy Williams
There's a classical singing competition ahead
Stacy Williams
I recommend you to join!
Alyssa Aria
Eh? I'm not into competitions though...
Stacy Williams
Please! We could be partners, since you play the piano so perfectly, I can sing.
Alyssa Aria
I'll give it a try.
Stacy Williams
Really? Thanks! I appreciate it.
Stacy Williams
I've been wanting to join yet my brother won't agree to be my pianist. Such a cold blooded man.
Stacy Williams
Nevermind, lunchtime is almost over. Let's head back.
I just then nodded and the two of us exited the room.
Chapter 3
It has been weeks since I've moved at Cloud Country.
Stacy and I had more closure. But the one thing I feel uncomfortable is that I can't reach my cousin lately.
She said as her hands were wrapped in my arm. I'm very delighted when she calls me 'Lyssa'.
Stacy Williams
Tommorow and onwards, we won't have any classes!
Stacy Williams
We could hang out more!
Stacy Williams
And I could also introduce you to my brother!
Stacy Williams
You seem pale, you alright?
Stacy Williams
Wait- Are you annoyed that I'm clingy...?
Alyssa Aria
N-No.. I'm not..
Alyssa Aria
I'm just worried because I haven't been in touch with Lexi this days..
Stacy Williams
You mean your cousin?
Stacy Williams
I don't know why but I've seen her in the library with a boy?
Alyssa Aria
Could you wait for me? I'm going to her..
Stacy Williams
I'll come with you.
Her dark black eyes sparkled which left me no choice but to take her with me to the library.
We soon arrived at the library. Well, the cafeteria is far from the library.
The two of us entered and started to search for Lexi.
We saw her from afar sitting with a boy. I didn't have advanced thoughts and just approached her.
Lexi Aria
Oh, Alyssa..Need anything?
Alyssa Aria
Are you angry or something?
Lexi Aria
What made you think that?
Alyssa Aria
Well, we've not been in touch lately..
Lexi Aria
Oh, don't worry!
Lexi Aria
I'm just hanging out with.. you know..
She winked and I realized it immediately.
A few weeks before, she had this boy which is always what she talks about.
I was quite surprised when I got to know that she was dating someone.
Lexi Aria
Hey, Deib. Meet Eisha my cousin!
Stacy Williams
What's he doing here?
Stacy whispered in my ear, and held my arm more tightly.
Alyssa Aria
She's Lexi's boyfriend..
Stacy Williams
He's my brother's friend..
I found Deib smiling at her. He was quite a big young man, four or five years older than me.
In the end, Stacy and I sat with them too.
Stacy Williams
Since there are no classes for one week, why don't we guys have a trip?
Stacy Williams
We could go to Maldives! A wonderful place!
Stacy Williams
We'll take my brother's cruise ship!
Alyssa Aria
Woah, your brother owns a cruise ship?
Stacy Williams
Yeah! It was his birthday present from Dad.
Stacy Williams
Here's my address, Lex, let's meet there and set off!
I chuckled at Stacy. She has this habit to create nicknames for her close friends.
The next morning, after I finished packing, I first went to a cloth shop.
After picking some dresses, I checked out. I was with just my most loyal driver. In counting, he's been working for us for almost eleven years.
I was almost at the car, my hands holding my things. Suddenly, I bumped into someone causing the things I'm holding fall to the ground. Count me in too.
Kent Williams
Are you okay?
Kent Williams
My pardon, I'm in a rush.
He explained, and it surprised me when he offered his hand.
He was tall, with the same dark hair as Stacy. He also has long-lashed dark black eyes.
I don't want to be rude so I just moved my feet on my own.
Little did I know I left something.
Not my phone, or things but my ID.
I was now afar and didn't noticed it. Kent picked it up and had a pleasant smile on his face.
Alyssa Aria
To Williams bay.
I arrived there, fifteen minutes late.
Stacy Williams
Lyssa, traffic?
Alyssa Aria
I can say yes.
It was my first time going into their personally owned bay. It was big enough.
She escorted me in and went in to meet the others.
It had my jaw drop seeing the man I met earlier. What's he doing here?
