Chapter 4: Contract With The Devil

Vren wakes up, but not in the normal world. The surrounding is white without anything around it, a complete space. "Where am I?", he asked himself.

From a far, he saw one creature sitting on a white broken tree. The creature have wings and horns, it has a white body, it's like a creature wearing a bone armors all over its body. It is facing backwards against him. "H-Hello?...", Vren greeted the creature.

"Who are you? Is this heaven?", Vren asked the creature.

"Sad to say, but it's not.", the creature answered.

"Uhmm... If it's not, then where am I?", Vren asked the creature again.

"You are under my presence. Basically, your emotions brought you here, to me.", the creature explained.

"What do you want?", Vren asked.

"Your body is currently drowning as of now. And our soul escape its vessel due to a strong will. Your consciousness is here, you can't save your body. But it's okay, your body is still alive.", the creature said.

"Wait! G-Gretta! Gretta's drowning too!", Vren said.

"You can't save her anymore. She's already dead. Her heart stopped beating because of extreme pain. Her veins snapped because of forceful resistance.", the creature explained what happened.

"Gretta....", Vren sat on the floor and hid his face. "I want to die...", he said.

"Hmmm, but that's not what your heart wants. The reason why I am here is that because you want to do something...", the creature said.

"Wait, wait, wait. I want to know who you are first.", Vren said.

The creature stood up and faced him. It was very tall at a height of eight feet. Its face is covered with the bones of two hands enclosed. His body is like smoking a hot steam, blood pouring in between the bones it wears. "My name is Zauron, I am the Demon of Vengeance. And I know that you really want to retaliate against them, Vren. You want some revenge...", the creature said.

"Wait. If you're a demon, it only means that you want to create some negotiations with me. Am I right?", Vren guessed.

"Yeah, you're right. You are smart hmmm... But ain't it so good? I will give you a chance, a power, a skill to accomplish what you want. You will live, you will find them, and you will avenge your beloved Gretta.", Zauron said.

"But, I'm afraid that God will punish me for that. I think I will just let God do something for it.", Vren said.

"Hmmm, are you sure that's enough? Are you going to be happy that you will die without doing something? You die worthless, you die and cannot saved her, even avenge her death?!", Zauron asked him.

He suddenly saw Gretta's ghost looking at her. He also suddenly thought about him can't do anything to save her even if cost him his own life.

"Look at him, Vren... It is the soul of your Gretta. As long as she cannot get the justice she deserves, she will remain a very sorrowful and lost ghost.", Zauron said.

"N-No! I don't want that for her!", Vren insisted.

"You have to decide, Vren. You have to tell me...", Zauron said.

Vren looked at Gretta's eyes. "Gretta....", he uttered sadly as his tears fall from his eyes. "Okay... Let's do this...", he agreed to Zauron's offer.

"Alright! But, words are not enough. You have to sign this contract.", Zauron said and a gold paper appeared in front of Vren. "Just remember this, Vren. Having a contract with me will give you a great power that is very far from a normal human being can do, a great strength than a normal human can have, a great toughness than a normal human can be. You can use my wings to fly and you can use my sword to fight. But in return, you need to collect many souls for me. The souls of sinners. You will feel an extreme thirst to kill many sinners until you are satisfied enough. I will also reveal to you that if you die, you and me will be thrown into hell. There's also a chance that I can die alone and be thrown into hell without you. Vren hold the pen without a doubt. His pointer finger suddenly wounded and the blood poured onto the line he is about to sign. That put a smile on Zauron's face and he said, "Now that you signed the contract, let's go! Let's get the justice for Gretta!"
