Chapter Four Zane Knight (14) and Zaire Knight (13) Past

...Mysterious death...

The next day was Saturday. Zaire went to Faye's house til Monday. Zane was walking down the road to Dakota's house when his phone rang. He picked it up and answered it. "Hey dear can you run to the store and get some soda for your father and sister," the mother said over the phone. "Yes i will on my way home," Zane replied. "Thanks dear. See you when you get back. Bye love you," the mom said. "No problem mom bye love you," Zane said then hung up. He wasnt paying attention and accidentally walked into someone nocking them to the ground. "Sorry i wasn't looking where i was walking are you alright," Zane said helping the person up. "Its alright," the person replied. "Aiden," Zane said. Aiden looked up at Zane. "Oh Zane hey," Aiden said with a smile. "Hey how you doing," Zane replied. "Im doing good you," Aiden answered. Zane handed Aiden what he dropped on the floor ground. "Here," Zane said. "Ah thanks," Aiden replied and took the item. Zane laughed at Aidens reaction. "Umm.. Zane do you have a phone," Aiden asked. "Huh yea do you want my number," Zane replied. "Yes if that's alright," Aiden said. Aiden didnt realize his face was red. "Let me see your phone and i will give you my number," Zane said. Aiden gave Zane his phone and Zane entered his number. "Message me anytime. I gotta go im meeting a friend. Take care of yourself," Zane said while laughing. "Huh thanks. Talk to you later," Aiden said. Zane started to walk away when he stopped and turned around. "By the way Aiden your face is red," Zane said with a smile then started to walk away again.

Finally Zane arrived at the meeting place. Dakota saw Zane and went towards. "Bro your late," Dakota said. "Yea i know," Zane said. "Lets go in," Dakota said. They went inside the store. "Do you really need more games," Zane asked. "Yes i already finished the games i have," Dakota replied. Zane walked around the store while Dakota picked out games. Zane pulled out his phone and messaged Dakota saying he is stepping outside for a bit. He was standing by the store when someone grabbed him and pushed him against the wall. "Stay the **** away from Aiden," the guy said. "What the hell. Let me go," Zane said. "I will if you stay the **** away from Aiden," the person said. "Look i dont know who you are or your relationship with Aiden. But i can tell you i hardly know him," Zane said. "You dont need to know who i am or my relationship with him is. But im warning you stay away," the guy said then left. Zane went back into the store and found Dakota. "Hey man are you alright," Dakota asked. "Yea im good," Zane replied. "Alright then lets go check out," Dakota said. "Good cause mom wants me to stop and get soda for dad and Zaire," Zane said. "Bro you can leave if you need to," Dakota said handing the store clerk the games he's buying. "Alright man see you later," Zane said then left and headed to the store.

Zane got the soda then headed home. Once he got home he saw the door was wide open. He walked to the door and went in. Once he saw what was inside he dropped the soda and stood there frozen. There was blood everywhere in the living and he saw both their parents dead and laying on the floor. After a few minutes he called the police. Once the police arrived they talked to Zane. Zane told them what he was doing then said his sister as at a friends. Zane then took out his phone and called Zaire. "Zaire your brother is calling," Faye yelled. Zaire ran into the room and answered it. "Yea," Zaire answered the phone. "Zaire...M..m..mom and d..d..dad were k..k..killed.. S..s..stay t..t..there a bit l..l..longer," Zane said in a shaky voice then hung up. Faye walked into the room. "Hey Zaire do you wanna...She stopped when she saw that Zaire was on her knees crying. Faye ran over to her and hugged her. "Zaire what happened," Faye asked. "Zane s..s..said t..t..that our p..p..parents are dead," Zaire said in a shaky voice and hugged Faye back. Zane stayed with Dakota and Zaire stayed with Faye til their Aunt and Uncle came and got them.
