Chapter Twenty

After about a month Zane was released from the hospital. His Aunt and uncle throw a small party for him to welcome him home. "Zane im so glad your alright and that you finally home now," Zaire said then hugged ber brother. "I told you i would never leave you behind," Zane said then hugged her back. "I know but when i saw you in the hospital bed i was worried that you wouldnt pull through," Zaire said. "You dont have to worry bout me im not gonna die anytime soon," Zane said. They broke the hug and Zane decided to go for a walk in the woods. He told everyone he would be back in an hour or so. While walking someone hopped down from a tree infront of him. "Good your not dead. I heard you were attacked by two demons," the person said. "First off dont do that. Second off hey Lazarus. Third off yes i waa attacked," Zane said. "Sorry if i startled you. The demons that attacked you were they both female and tell me what they wanted," Lazarus said. "Both were female yes. They know bout what me and Zaire can do. They know bout our gift," Zane answered. Lazarus walked closer to Zane and handed him a gun. "Come on i will teach you to use it. That way if they come after you or your sister you guys will have a chance to get away. Demons dont give up so they will for sure come back for you two," Lazarus said. Zane spent almost three hours with Lazarus learning to use the gun and a knife. After that he went back home. No body was home so he went to his room and hid the gun. He then laid down on his bed and ended falling asleep.

"Zaire go see if your brother is home," Aunt said walking through the door. Zaire ran upstairs and went into her brothers room. She saw Zane sleeping and decided not to bother him. She ran back downstairs to their Aunt and Uncle. "He is asleep in his bed," Zaire said. "Let the boy sleep. He hasnt been sleeping yell lately anyway. I also noticed he goes out late a night," Uncle said. "He has been like that since the hospital released him," Zaire said. Just then Zane came downstairs and into the room. "What you guys talking bout," Zane asked then yawned. "Nothing dear dont worry," Aunt said. "Alright," Zane said then went into the kitchen to get a drink. The Aunt went into the kitchen and started dinner. The others talked til dinner was done. Once it was done they ate and Zane went back up to his room.

Once he got in his room he laid back down on his bed. He was bout to fall asleep when his phone went off. He picked it up and answered it. "Hello," said answered. "Hey Zane," a male voice said. "What up Dakota," Zane said. "Not much really i just wanted to ask if you wanted to hang out tomorrow," Dakota said. "Of course man what time and where you want to meet," Zane answered. "Noon and at my houthenhunDakota replied. "Alright man I'll be there," Zane said. "Alright bye see you tomorrow," Dakota said. "Bye," Zane then hung up. After the call Zane fell asleep.

The next morning Zane got up and looked at the time. He saw it was ten thirty. Zane got up and got dressed then went downstairs. "Morning Zane," Zaire said. "Morning," Zane said. "Aunt and Uncle went to work already but Aunt made breakfast. Its on the table. Go eat," Zaire said. "Alright," Zane said then went into the kitchen. After he eat he talked with Zaire til bout eleven thirty then left to Dakota's house. One he got there he knocked on the door. Dakota answered and let Zane inside. They then went up to his room. They talked for a while then went to town. Dakota had to get some stuff cause his sister was coming home that night. But Dakota also wanted to hang out with Zane. "Something wrong Zane," Dakota asked. "Nothing why you asking," Zane replied. "You were looking a bit worried," Dakota said. "Im alright. What all do we need to get," Zane said. "Oh well mom said she wants to make her a steak dinner. So we need to get steak potatoes and green beans. She also want to make Casey a cake so we gotta get the stuff to make a cake as well. We also got to get everyone a drink," Dakota replied. "Well there the grocery store lets go," Zane said. They went into the store and started getting everything they needed. While waiting in the line to check out they talked. Once they checked out they headed back to Dakota's house. They continued to talk all the way there. When they went inside they gave Mrs. Meya they groceries. Dakota and Zane helped her to make dinner and the cake. Not long after Casey showed up but with a couple friends. "Im here mom," Casey said. "We are in the kitchen. Dakota's friend Zane is here as well," Mrs. Meya answered.. "I brought a couple friends here as well," Casey said walking towards the kitchen. She saw Zane sitting in the living and turned to her friends and asked them to wait with him. They sat down but one sat next to Zane. "Hey Zane," he said. "Hey Lazarus," Zane said then sat back. "Have you been practicing with that gun," Lazarus asked quietly. "Yes i go into the woods and shoot it. Far enough away from my home," Zane replied. "Thats good," Lazarus said. "Did you give him the gun Lazarus," the other friend asked. "Yes Owen i did. He needs to protect himself just like you do but you live with me so your pretty much safe," Lazarus replied. "You worry to much," Owen said. "With all these killings why wouldnt i be. Zane was attacked already that why i gave him the gun," Lazarus said. "Was he attacked by demons or humans cause demon attack victims dont usually live," Owen asked. "I was attacked by demons," Zane said to Owen. "Oh damn you must have been lucky that they didnt kill you," Owen said. "You never said what happened. Just that the demons im hunting attacked you," Lazarus said. "Whats there to say they attacked me. I passed then woke up in the hospital," Zane said. Just then Zane's phone went off. He pulled it out of his pocket and saw a message from his Aunt. Zane stood up and went into the kitchen to where Dakota was standing. "I gotta go home my Aunt messaged me. I'll text you later," Zane said. "Alright man see ya," Dakota said. Zane said bye to Lazarus and Owen and headed home. Once home he went to see what his Aunt wanted. "Will you help Zaire with her homework please," Aunt asked. "Yes where is she at," Zane replied. "She is in her room," Aunt said. Zane went upstairs and helped Zaire with her homework then he went to his room and went to sleep
