Beep, beep, beep....
The incessant beeping of my alarm woke me up. I realized that I didn't have any nightmare, probably because of the medicine I took the previous night. I hated taking medicines but I hated nightmares more. I groaned, and shot out of my bed to get ready for the first day of school.
I put on a crop top saying 'Strip that down' with some skinny jeans. I decided to leave my midnight black hair open. I didn't like makeup but Shane would have chewed me out if I didn't put any on. So I quickly grabbed some mascara and put it on. After applying some lip gloss, I checked out my reflection. Satisfied with my look, I rushed downstairs for breakfast.
"Good morning mom" I gave mom one of my brightest smile when I saw she had made my favourite breakfast, pancakes. "Good morning honey, you ready for your senior year." She asked me with a smile. "Yeah, totally." Mom and I had sorted our fight during the week. She agreed to lift my grounding, if I promised her I wouldn't drink till I was of age and I was way too happy to comply with her request. The week before school had been pretty uneventful but one thing was strange. I was getting the feeling that someone was following me. It wasn't uncomfortable. Strangely I loved that feeling.
Shane had agreed to drive till my mom got me a car. As soon as Shane pulled her car in front of my house, I rushed to the door. "Hey there girl, you ready to start last year in hell" she asked me with a smirk on her face. "Hell yes. " I said with the same enthusiasm. We reached our school in ten minutes.
Getting off the car I realized that people had a stunned expression on their faces and as soon as I located the source of it, even I had one. Built like a greek god, he out stood everyone in this school. He had shades covering his eyes but the shirt he wore stretched across his shoulders was showing how ripped he was. He was lean and had a six or probably eight pack.
At the sound of the school bell Shane and I made a run for our lockers. As I reached my locker I saw that something was wrong people. They were staring at me as if they hadn't seen me before. I didn't know the extent of my wanting to be invisible would result in people not knowing who I am.
I reached my homeroom just on time and realized that the new boy had already made himself comfortable on my seat. I made my way to him. "You're in my seat." I said to him somewhat scowling. He still had his shades on. "I don't see a name on this seat." He said to me with a smug smile on his face. "Actually there is." And I showed him my name which I had scribbled on that desk with a smirk on my face. He coolly got up and offered the seat to me in a courtly manner. His cool demeanour confused me, if it had been any other boy he wouldn't have gotten up. I slided up my seat without giving a single glance to him and he seated himself behind me.
Soon Mr. Thomson arrived and called him up and as soon as he took off his shades, I gasped loudly. No one paid much attention to me as all the girls gasped but their reason to gasp and mine were quite different. His icy blue eyes cut into mine and soon I had a name to face, Tylon Murray. I was shocked and confused on seeing him. His eyes hadn't left my mind since the night at McD's.
I wanted answers, but I was too afraid to ask questions. What if he denied anything I asked, it would make me look desperate for his attention and this was when I decided to completely ignore him.
Ignoring him was far from easy as he was in every one of my classes, but even then I did my best to avoid him. I decided to ambush him when he was alone. Shane didn't know about him and I felt bad about keeping things from her. What could I even tell her when I myself didn't know what was happening.
It was lunch time and I was going to the cafeteria but I suddenly bumped into someone. I looked up to find myself in front of Josh Ivashkov. I quickly said sorry but as I was trying to move away from him he stopped me.
“Arianna, isn’t it?” He asked in a curious tone. I was surprised he even knew my name. I quickly nodded. “Hi I’m Josh.” He said with a bright smile. I was shocked that he even knew my name. I shook hands with him with a polite smile. I thought it was best to avoid him but just as I was about to leave, Shane came barging through the door and stopped me.
“Hi Josh, there you are Aria, I’ve been searching for you over the whole campus. Oh I see that you two have met.” She said with a sly smile. Oh God, she was planning something. Nothing had me more scared than the smirk on Shane’s face when she was up to something and trust me I knew well enough what those smirks meant.
“Aria you remember the time you told me that you are up for tutoring the students who want to study maths for some extra money, well you see Josh is sort off failing in that subject, maybe you could help him out. Ain’t that right Josh?” My eyes were like the deer caught in headlights, when did I say that I wanted to tutor people, I was surprised to see Josh with a slight colouring creeping up his neck. He was blushing and that too badly. To see the Jock of school being embarrassed was quite funny.
“Umm, yeah I’m not very good at that subject and I admit I do need help and it would be great if you could help me or else the coach will kick me off the team.” I felt bad for him.
“No worries dude, I can help you out and in no time you’ll be able to score a B in maths.” I said with much enthusiasm. He smiled at me with such adoration, it felt as if I had said that I’ll give him everything he desires the most in this world.
