Episode 1: Meeting my “father”?

Mother: “It’s your daughter I want child support”

“Father”: “Why should I believe the words of a witch.”

Mother: “What did you say?!”

“Father”: “I refuse. Instead I will buy this one.”

Mother: “What are you trying to say?!”

“Father”: “I’ll up the interest.”

Mother: *smiles evilly. You have to give me 20,000 gold

“Father”: “Kelson, *yes sir. 20,000 gold. Bring a piece of paper I’ll finish this contract”

Kelson: “Mrs. Kazan, what is your name?”

What does Kazan mean?

Kelson: “Kazan means having no name what did your mother call you?”

My mother was a difficult woman to fix. She would dress in gorgeous clothes and did business with men. When the guests came over, she would always lock me in a wooden box. *cries

Mother: Stop crying and get inside if you don’t want to get hurt again!!

Those whole days I would spend listening to the sound of my mother inside of a tight box. I was about three or four years old when I started to remember my past life. I saw bright streetlights, clear skies, and glittering windows. Cute puppies, delicious desserts, and loved ones.The memories of a 23 year old college student, Seo Young, made my life bearable. But the knowledge from Seo young did not help me understand the language here.

So ‘Kazan’ amplifies the name.

Me: “My mother used to call me ‘pink eyes’”

Kazan: “! The duke will definetly give you a better name.”

Me: “There what will I do when we get there?”

Kazan: “First we need to go to the mansion, then the duke will decide.”

Am I going to be working in the palace as a maid? It might be better to be a maid, at least I won’t have to worry about being hungry. I’m like a Dry-legged skewer.

Kazan: “Now, welcome to the Duke’s mansion.

Me: “Wow, it’s so pretty!”

Kazan: “Please come this way, this will be you room from now on.”

Me: “This is my room?”

Kazan: “You don’t like it?”

Me: “No I really like it, John, it’s amazing.”

Kazan: “Yes?”

Me: “John, John! It’s so great.

My mother always used to say ‘Regal sasser’ (John, Good!) when something was awesome.

Kazan: “Ahem, you better not use the word ‘regal’ from now on.

Me: “Um, is it a bad word?”

Kazan: “ It is better to use the word ‘Dylan’ instead.

*! I turned around. There was a comforting looking middle aged woman standing near me. She almost reminded me of grandma.

Annie: “My name is Annie and I will be taking care of you starting today.”

Me: “Oh hello, nice to meet you, My name is ‘pink eye’

Annie: “Oh my, the duke will give you a nicer and prettier name, now would you like to take a bath?” You have a lot of split ends in you hair, I’ll cut them off.

Me: “Umm....”

Annie: “ Please call me Annie.”

Me: “Annie what am I going to do now?”

Annie: “Well, when the duke comes back he’ll take care of it. For now, all you have to do is play and eat well.”

It’s like a dream, it’s like I became Cinderella over night. I was Seo Young, and I was also ‘pink eye’, but now I’m Estelle(means star).
