Episode 4: My Birthday

Mother: “Happy birthday, Lippe!”

Father: “Congratulations for being born and for living a healthy first year.”

Me: “Em the won woo is thankful. Em vary happy tat mother father brothers are my fawmy membwers. (I’m the one who is thankful. I’m very happy that mother, father, brothers are my family members.)”

Mother:

It’s a good thing that we didn’t invite ay guests… She’s so cute, pretty, lovely, and this smart… Our Lippe’s going to have a lot of people hitting on her!!! A lot of people!!!

Father:

I will never give my daughter up!

Brother Lucius:

Lippe will always live with me. She will never leave my side!

Brother Robel:

Our Lippe will only marry me!

*Whole family nods

Everyone:

I will protect our precious Lippe!! (x4)

Mother: “Lippe, today’s a special day, so what’s wrong?”

Me: “Ah… I maybe you woryd. It’s nwothing impwortant. I’m alwaight. (Ah… I made you worried. It’s nothing important. I’m alright.)”

Mother:

Just speaking well doesn’t explain her vocabulary…

Brother Robel: *pokes me on the head “You teeny bean!!!”

Brother Lucius: *I’ll see you later glare

Brother Robel: *flinches *shudders *turns to me “Lippe, your brother can resolve all your worries! Trust me and speak your mind!”

Me: “It’s just…”

Mother:

What must it be. She’s a very special child, quite different from her peers… Does she want to explore the outside world?

Father:

I think she wants to study… She may be calm but she is a curious child.

Brother Lucius:

Is it about the fairy tale that I read to her yesterday?

Brother Robel:

It’s definetly about how she wants to marry me!

Me: “Pho an entiwre year I hab nwothing bot it’s alweady muy bwirthday. I wus jots thwinking dat tim gos bi so fwast. (For an entire year I’ve done nothing but it’s already my birthday. I was just thinking that time goes by too fast.)”

*Whole family shocked

Mother: “I- is that so…? Hmm…”

Was I too focused on the past? The past, the future that will happen. Blinded by tragedy, I wasn’t focused on the present. The past year, I was mostly lying down in the cradle. Every day I remembered the past tradegy and even promised myself to protect my family this time. I was frustrated at myself for not being able to walk properly. I was getting impatient. But… Changing the future… and protecting my family but, there is something just as important. Spending my current time happily with my family. When I came back in time, that was one of my main goals. As time passed and it became normal for my family to be with me… Because the death of my family was such a huge incident, I forgot about everything else…It’s not that nothing happened this past year… It’s simply because my memories are irreplaceable.
