I thought we wouldn't see each other again.
Yet amongst the crowd of people we found each other once more.
He was coming up the subway stairs and I was travelling down. My eyes widened a bit having recognised him. He slowly lifted his eyes to meet with mine.
There was something striking about his eyes.
Was it because they mirrored my own?
None of us moved from our spot. It was as if we knew about the pain we shared. Our stare lingered for a few seconds before he looked away and continued going up the stairs.
I didn't realised that I was holding my breath until I desperately needed air. Had he been through the same things I have ?
