Chapter 2

Class finished and almost all of the students were fetched by their parents in a car so Sera felt jealousy when she saw those classmates of hers having fun with them.

"Hi!" A blooming senior of hers approached her. Seraphine remembered that she saw this girl in one of Janetta's classmates. "Seraphine..?"

"Seraphine Futzja." Seraphine replied and Xiji giggled. For some reason, Sera thought that Xiji's attitude is annoying her.

"I'm Janetta's friend~" Sera had a bad first impression of Xiji because of the way she talks. Xiji's tone changes to low to high.

"I rarely see the friendship between you two.." Xiji was shocked to hear that. A girl as clever and genius as her would be a hard bait for Janetta. "And I'm leaving. Please don't bother."

Xiji came closer and Sera got too pissed so she bumped Xiji.

"Girl! I only want you to come with me for a second!"

'Raising her tone again?' Seraphine's eyes turned red for a second and Xiji was hypnotized. "Leave me alone."

"Yes.." Xiji said and couldn't control herself.

Seraphine realized what she had done and quickly rushed back to her home with heavy breathing. "Hah.. no.. she wouldn't remember anything.. calm down.." She took the water bottle from her bag and drank all of it but she was still sweating.

"SERAPHINE FUTZJA!! Get down here in an instant!" Her mom yelled and it sent shivers down her spine. She already know her mom is going to hit her like always..

But this time, her mom smiled and said "Sweetie, your dad and I are going on a business trip. I think you need to borrow money from a friend and I'll give half money to you."

"I don't have any friends and why don't you just give me all the money. After all, you're still my mom." Seraphine stared coldly and it was pretty obvious that Seraphine's mom, Gail, is trying to keep her composure.

'This damned brat isn't even saying thank you!' Seraphine's mom thought but she still smiled. "Fine, sweetie.."

"I have a name. Don't call me sweetie because it's corny." Sera's gaze darkened and left her mom's mouth hanging.

"Tsk.."

When Sera returned to her room, she started to smirk and laugh. "AHAHAHA!! I didn't know it was this easy to disrespect my stupid 'mom'!! HAHA!!"

"Mommy, mommy! I got an A in all my exams!" Seraphine proudly showed her all the scores.

Her older sister, Pauline, looked at the papers and squealed. "Kyahh that's my baby sister!!" She showed the papres to their mom but their mom looks displeased.

"Mom? What's wrong?" Seraphine's sister asked and held Sera's hand.

"A disgrace.. What's this?!!" She shoved the paper that has a B in it in Sera's face.

"Mmpnh!" Seraphine stumbled since her body was so fragile because their parents barely feed her anything.

"MOM!!" Pauline yelled and covered for Seraphine.

"Arg.. Pauline. Why are you defending that sister of yours?! She's adopted and I made a wrong decision-"

"MOM!! Please stop!!"

Seraphine shivered in fear and cried loudly. "WAAHHH! BIG SIS.. wuu..."

"There, there.." Pauline let a sigh of relief and angrily looked at her mother. "Can't you just atleast appreciate her hard works like what you did to me when I was younger!! She will grow up to be a-"

"Who cares?" Gail shrugged. "Take that brat to her room now and teach her Sciencd. That's what she's bad at."

"Yes, mom.."

[Seraphine at 14]

"Happy happy birthday my dear sister!!" Pauline hugged Seraphine and buried her head in her shoulder.

"Big sis? What's wrong? Do you have a fever?" Seraphine gently touched her sister's forehead. "Big sis, your forehead is burning!!"

"Ah, it is? Let's celebrate your 14th birthday first please.."

"But!!-"

"I- don't have much time.." Seraphine was confused and at the same time she was mentally panicking.

"Haha, big sis is not going to d-die r-right?"

"Sera! Who taught you about that! And no, ofcourse not.."

"But you said you had cancer and I learned in school that cancer can't be c-"

"S-Sera!! Ssh, mother might hear us!"

"You're lying right?!" Tears started flowing down in Seraphine's cheek. "Is it because mom and dad have no money?! I could've saved for the both of us."

Pauline tilted her head. "I wanted to give you the bestest birthday! That costs 400 dollars. We can't afford that."

Seraphine once had a thought about stealing but her sister told her that it's bad. "Let's go to the hospital!! No exceptions!" Seraphine grabbed Pauline's hand but Seraphine stopped and froze.

She looked back and her sister was lying.. dead on the floor.

"AGH!!" Seraphine woke up suddenly. 'It was a dream.. calm down, Sera.. you might trigger the dhampir's powers.'

*wooosh* The curtains were flying as if like there's a wind inside her house. 'Is this a ghost?' Sera asked herself and she opened the window. "No ghost. Hah.."

She laid back in her bed but she felt something.. hard? She slowly looked at her bed and she saw a man lying in her bed. "Get out of my bed!!"
