ALIZA 04

Aliza was stationed in the kitchen, her tasks are to serve, assist the chef and arrange the ingredients in the kitchen. It was just a normal task to Aliza and she wasn't a bit burdened by it.

She was introduced to the people she will be working with and they were all full of compliments about her looks. Aliza was born with all the good genes in her body, snow white and flawless skin, small tall nose, large eyes and plump lips. Thus it is no doubt even without her eye catching white hair -- her looks is beyond just pretty.

Aliza felt overwhelmed at their compliments that she doesn't know how to respond other than chuckling shyly.

Her mother's reminders rang through her head again, "never trust anyone you just meet and don't judge them at your first meeting, that way you will avoid regrets and betrayal" as she remembered. Aliza did her part of returning the compliments, it was sincere but she knew better than to trust them beforehand.

Few days later, Aliza got accustomed at the new environment. Most of the maids weren't hostile to her and she was grateful for that, except for one, a maid named Mona kept glaring at her for some reason which Aliza feigned ignorance to avoid conflict.

On the other hand, Warden walked into Lucas' study.

"Anything strange?" Lucas asked as he kept his gaze on the paper he's holding.

"None, your highness"

"Hmm...what about her current condition as a maid?"

"She was fitting in well your highness, it looks like she was used it that kind of lifestyle."

Lucas turned his gaze to him, "Really?"

"Yes Your highness"

Lucas smirked "Ha...a country bumpkin, I see"

Warden stayed silent, he never thought negative of Aliza as he observed her because there is completely zero suspicious things to see in her actions, rather, she was a nice person in his perspective. He doesn't trust her completely yet but he trust what he sees.

"What do you think?...Warden." he said as he glanced at Warden.

"Completely Zero Negative things to see, your highness. Instead, she is showing a rather nice impression to others."

"Mmm, we still don't know. Continue to observe her, immediately report to me any suspicious acts." he said as he plays with his lower lip.

"Yes your highness"

"Leave"

Warden bowed and left the room.

Lucas leaned on the back rest of the chair and rested his elbows on the arm rest. He stared at the large window beside his table with his thoughts running deep.

'Aliza Vellione, don't disappoint me...' he thought in his head.

"Aliza!"

"Coming!"

One of the maids passed the tray to her and Aliza held the tray with carefulness. The tray had a cup of tea and a small plate of biscuits to eat.

"Deliver this to His Highness, be careful on your way." She reminded and went to attend other tasks.

Aliza carefully made her way towards the King's area. On the way she asked one of the guards for Lucas' location which directed her to his study.

Because she couldn't knock, she announced her arrival.

"This servant is here to deliver His Highness' tea and snack."

The door opened by Warden and Aliza went through the familiar room which she was in days ago. Aliza walked carefully towards the busy Lucas.

"Place it on the other table." he instructed and Aliza followed.

"Is there anything else your highness?"

"None."

Aliza bowed and quietly left the room. She went back to the kitchen again to perform other tasks.

Lucas stared at the tray Aliza left on the table.

"Hmm..."

"How obedient for a princess who grew up outside the castle." he murmured with a playful smirk. He expected her to be braver and more persistent.

Honestly, he thought after he revealed that she is a princess, she would retaliate because he assigned her as a maid. But in contrast, she is quite obedient and she knows her place.

He expected her to throw tantrum by now which is why he ordered her to specifically serve him today. But looks like, she wasn't burdened being a maid for her not to do that.

An obedient and quiet child indeed.
