It has been two weeks since I got here. I'm finally getting used to being at the rescue shelter. The two people who I first met were Mika and Tetsuya. They're high schoolers volunteering to take care of the animals here. Of course their are other workers but they don't pay much attention to me, not that it's needed.
In these past weeks I've finally come to the agreement that being an animal is beyond embarrassing. I have to endure the humiliation of being seen everyday without clothes, getting tummy rubs, worst of all was peeing and going number two. At first I refused to eat the dog food they gave or even do what the other normal dogs did when taken out on walks. This led to me being taken to the vet for another humiliating experience. Finally I submitted to the shame of peeing in public but I still refused to go number two.
I found where the staff toilet was and started using it secretly when we were left to run around. It didn't take long for Tetsuya to discover what I was doing and tell the others. They finally let me use it since I flushed after myself. Of course they were shocked at how smart I was but I didn't care, better to shock them than live with the disgrace. I even learned to make doggie whines and beg when I saw anyone having their lunch or snack. Honestly, dog food tasted bland and I might look like a dog at the moment but my taste buds were totally human. I was mostly quiet besides when begging for treats, so everyone at the shelter just let me do what I wanted.
Why I haven't turned back into a human all this while, you ask? Well I won't say I haven't tried. I had been trying to turn back into my human form since the first day I woke up but it was useless. I later discovered that my mana thread got snapped because of my sudden transformation at the time of the accident.
Mana thread or vein is what moves mana around the body, just like how the veins move blood around. It only exist in magical creatures like fairies. The most important part of the mana thread is situated close to the brain. Mana is absorbed into the skin from the surrounding and moved to the closest threads at the part it was absorbed from. The absorbed mana is then moved through the threads up to the head where the mana refiner condenses it for use while any extra is sent to the mana bank. The bank stores mana for when you wish to use it. My mana bank isn't very big because I wasn't so focused on expanding it since I didn't think I'd need to use it often. In the past while training, I'd slowly absorb mana and use it instantly without storing any. This was why when I tried to transform quickly I forced myself to absorb the little mana around me and pushed it to my mana refiner for immediate use. The pressure and speed at which I made the mana flow caused an important mana thread close to the refiner and a few others, to snap.
I'm currently working on fixing the threads by myself. It's a slow process which could take weeks if I was being healed by another person who could transfer mana into me and direct it to fix the snapped threads. However for me who is doing it alone it could take months or even years.
I guess I'll be stuck in this miserably situation for a long time. I hope my parents find me quickly and get me out of here.
(N.pov)
"someone's coming." the other animals seemed to have also noticed the presence approaching and started getting more noisy. Karin hid her face in her paws pretending to be asleep.
"Wow, I think it's so nice of them to come and do this for the animals." Saya, one of the workers said as she opened the door and walked in.
Masamune, the owner of the place followed in after her, "Forget about it, they just wanna do something to win the heart of their gullible fans." he said without trying to hide the irritation in his voice.
Saya placed a hand over her mouth and giggled. "But Mr. Masamune, you can't deny that it'll be good for us. They're very popular so they'll definitely raise a lot of money for the shelter."
Masamune grunted a bit under his breath before responding, "Why else do you think I accepted to do it in the first place. Do you think I enjoy letting them use this place for their stupid publicity stunt. I'm only doing it for the money."
Masamune was a good commissioner before he retired four years ago. He started an animal shelter in memory of his daughter who had died of liver cancer soon before his retirement. He was too busy with his work to be with her before her death. Filled with regret, he retired early and started the shelter because his daughter was fond of animals and he wanted to do something for her to be remembered by. He now spends a lot of his time taking care of the animals that come in, with as much love as he would have given to his daughter.
"It's a shame that the people coming might be more interested in seeing their idol than adopting any of the poor lil' guys here." Saya said as she reached down to pick up a weak golden retriever puppy.
"That would be great but I'm not expecting too much from then. I just want them to come, do their thing, pay us and get the hell out of here." he stated while helping her take the puppies out of their cages so they could run around and play.
The word 'idol' had certainly peaked Karin's interest because her doggy ears were perk up. She was curious about which idol would be coming.
"It would be fun if it were to be Blue Tea, I need a little cheer to help me get through this tough times." she thought before going back to sleep, for real this time.

Author's Note:
Hi lovely readers, this is a little information that might help readers find my novels more easier to understand.
As seen used earlier (N.pov)
This simply means Narrators point of view. Which is to say the pattern of writing has changed.
Their will also be other pov(s) for different characters example, (Karin's pov).
Since the beginning of this novel, we've been following up from Karin's pov and I thought to myself, "its gonna be weird if that continues for the whole story since it doesn't revolve around the female lead alone."
Bottom line the point of view will be changing often so dear readers don't get confused.
